Gilbert Rod vs. Curtis Pain

Sergio Pettis vs. Glenn Maxwell

James Keenan (MMA 0-0-0 , CFC 0-0-0) vs. Marcos Rojas (MMA 0-1-1 , CFC 0-1-0) | Welterweight

It's a professional debut for James "Maynard" Keenan and it comes at just eighteen years of age. The Ravenna, Ohio native enters the CFC cage to take on fellow teenager, Marcos "El Diablo" Rojas of Mexico. It's a better match-up for Rojas who was outclassed at Carnage Five against an older opponent. The Mexican was submitted in the very first round but would have learned a lot from the loss and in this fight at Crown a Champion, we will get to see what kind of progress has been made. Both fighters in this bout posses a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Both fighters have a chance to kick start their careers with a win here tonight. Rojas may have thought he had picked up a win on his debut back in June. He went up against Connor Mcdavid in a Quick Fight Championship match and whereas most in the media thought Rojas had done enough to win the bout, the fight resulted in a controversial draw. It will be interesting to see if this acts as motivation for stopping Keenan in his much anticipated debut. It's a great fight to start our event and just because of all of the positive news we are hearing out of the Keenan camp, I'm going with the kid from Ohio to take this one.

Dave's Prediction: James Keenan via KO

Raoh King of Fists (MMA 2-0-0 , CFC 2-0-0) vs. Franco Micheli (MMA 0-0-0 , CFC 0-0-0) | Lightweight

A huge welcome to our latest addition to the CFC roster Mr. Franco Micheli who we hope to have a sit down interview with sometime in the future. Mr Micheli and team, welcome and thank you for choosing Carnage. The Argentinian Micheli possesses some of the best wrestling skills in the division. He is a little small and walks around at about 158lbs but he's been putting in the work at one of Las Vegas' finest and expensive gyms in Bi-Polar Asylum. But Micheli will have it all to do here tonight. He comes face to face with Raoh "Fist of Justice" King of Fists. The name alone should be a warning. Fists is two from two in his career and fought as recently as last week! This is a born fighter ladies and gentlemen. He's riding high at the moment. The sponsorships have been pouring in and there is mounting evidence for a title challenge in the foreseeable future. But this fight is a potential banana skin fight. Micheli is an unknown quantity. The King of Surprises. That being said, I still think Fists comes away with the win here simply because he's one of the top Lightweights in the organisation and the Las Vegas region. He is, after all, just a teenager. But a win here and he'll be on his way to becoming so much more.

Dave's Prediction: Raoh King of Fists via KO

Bruno Thunder (MMA 1-1-0 , CFC 1-1-0) vs. Brandon Vicky (MMA 0-2-0 , CFC 0-1-0) | Lightweight

It's a compelling match-up in the Lightweight division with one fighter in Bruno Thunder that is near to the top of his class and one fighter in Brandon Vicky who wants to be. Vicky is still looking for his first victory after two professional fights. Here he goes up against Carnage Two Fight of the Night winner Bruno Thunder. On that night, Thunder won via submission demonstrating his all around abilities, a true mixed martial artist. He may be looking to take this fight to the ground against a white belt and against a fighter that has lost via submission recently.

Dave's Prediction: Bruno Thunder via Submission

Sergio Pettis (MMA 0-1-0 , CFC 0-1-0) vs. Glenn Maxwell (MMA 0-1-0 , CFC 0-1-0) | Featherweight

Both fighters have lost their sole fights thus far in their respective careers. And both fighters have the opportunity to put that past them with their first win. Their records are similar and so is their fighting styles. This fight may seem like a muay thai fight at times and there's little to no chance of it going to the judges scorecards. Pettis and Maxwell were victims of the first round in Carnage's Crown a Champion Tournament and will miss out on the grand prize of $500,000. Exiting the competition at an early stage, critics and haters alike are already suggesting their careers will amount to nothing. I have other ideas. On this night we will find out if Pettis and Maxwell agree with the critics or agree with me. It takes a certain kind of fighter to pick themselves up after a hard loss. Some don't manage to climb back. Some go on to achieve great things. We will know a lot more about Sergio Pettis and Glenn Maxwell once the official result is in.

Dave's Prediction: Glenn Maxwell via KO

Gilbert Rod (MMA 1-1-0 , CFC 1-1-0) vs. Curtis Pain (MMA 0-2-0 , CFC 0-2-0) | Light-Heavyweight

These two have met before at Carnage Two. It didn't end well for Curtis Pain after the man from Springfield was submitted in the first round. He has a shot at revenge here and in all likeliness has been fixated on doing just that. But unless Pain has been putting in the rounds and the hard work needed, this could be a repeat of the first encounter. It was one step forward one step backwards for Gilbert Rod when he beat Pain at Carnage Two only to lose to Danny Carey at Carnage Five. That fight with Carey was good enough to take home the Fight of the Night honours with a total of twenty-nine submission attempts before Rod finally succumbed to the submission loss. Gilbert Rod and Curtis Pain are on the second leg of their heated rivalry. If Pain wants to make a name for himself in this sport, he needs the victory here. Now. At CFC Crown a Champion.

Dave's Prediction: Gilbert Rod via Submission

Leon Angier (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) vs. Barry Hutchinson (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) | Featherweight

And now we turn ourselves to the reason why so many fight fans will be in attendance. It's Round Two of the CFC Crown a Champion. Everyone who has gotten to this stage has gotten here by beating their first round opponents. By proving that they are real contenders in this competition. Some participants did this in a more impressive fashion than others. Both of these fighters, Leon Angier and Barry Hutchinson finished their opponents. Angier in particular displayed complete dominance in the clinch landing a massive twenty-one out of thirty head punches thrown. It was a showcase of talent good enough for the Fight of the Night honours. Hutchinson was able to take his opponent down with ease and he is one of only two competitors left that posses a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. It's going to be a chess match with only one winner moving on to the next stage and staking their claim to be crowned a champion.

Dave's Prediction: Barry Hutchinson via Submission

Axel Zinith (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) vs. Kimbo Slice (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) | Featherweight

Axel "Warrior" Zinith is a long way from his native country New Zealand but he'll be looking to make Carnage his new home by winning the Crown a Champion contract. Many wrestlers have tried to make the transition into MMA but with little success. Zinith is a different animal. Zinith has that granite chin that cannot be taught, cannot be emulated. Kimbo Slice is going to put it to the test though. It took Slice less than two minutes to knock out his last opponent. He is a superb wrestler in his own right but for Slice, the wrestling is complemented well by his muay thai skills.

Dave's Prediction: Kimbo Slice via KO

Bill Collecter (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) vs. Scotty Catos (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) | Featherweight

It's the fight that everyone has been talking about. No more so than the fighters themselves. In his first round match-up Collecter took the fight into the clinch early and dominated with knee strikes to the head. In Catos' first round match-up his opponent took the fight into the clinch early and Catos was able to get the takedown from there and demonstrate why he has some of the best BJJ skills in the competition. We all know what's coming but it doesn't make it any less of a spectacle when the fight starts. Scotty "Money" Catos has the unfortunate reality of being the only fighter to make it through to the second round of Crown a Champion on a decision. There was no finish when Catos met Colby Jones two weeks ago but not through a lack of trying with an incredible forty-six submission attempts. The man who will be fighting once again in his hometown of Las Vegas eventually tired in that fight as evident by Jones taking the last round on the scorecards. But a win is a win. And Scotty Catos deserves his spot and his chance to reach the semi-finals. Here he faces a fighter that has less experience on the ground but is more deadly in the clinch. Wherever the fight takes place, it's going to be an all-out war.

Dave's Prediction: Collecter via KO

Jermey Moe (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) vs. Herzikezcz Blazikawazski (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) | Featherweight

This could be the final. And I mean that as no disrespect to the other competitors in the Crown a Champion tournament. But these two have both shown signs of a fighter that can go on to win $500,000 and a new CFC contract. It's the KO of the Night winner last time out versus the Submission of the Night winner. It doesn't get any better than this ladies and gentlemen. It took Moe only sixty-nine seconds to knock out his opponent. It took Blazikawazski only thirty-eight seconds to submit his opponent. Both fighters were worthy of their highlight finishes and bonus awards. Yet only one of them can advance to the next round. The man from Kingston has a huge 20cm height advantage over "The Twisted Polish" would could become a factor in this fight. Sure to be a Fight of the Night contender, the winner here will send out a message to the rest of the Featherweights watching: I'm the real deal.

Dave's Prediction: Moe via Decision

Salman Da Silva (MMA 3-0-0 , CFC 2-0-0) vs. Alexander Slovakia (MMA 1-0-0 , CFC 1-0-0) | Welterweight

And now to the main event. In what is a stacked welterweight division with a total of six undefeated fighters on hand, it is these two fighters that have rose above the rest. It will in fact be Slovakia's first fight at 170 after his debut win came at 155. Many fighters try to cut weight and fight the smaller man, few are looking up and relish the challenge of fighting the best fighter in the heavier weight class. Credit to Alexander Slovakia but has he taken on too big of a task here? He enters this fight with a 100% takedown accuracy. Obviously that can't last forever but it's proof that Alexander Slovakia has the ability to control the fight. Every main event needs its rockstar and tonight's comes in the form of Salman "Rockstar" Da Silva. Remember the name folks, because this is a fighter on the rise. I've watched a lot of tape going into this fight and I just don't know where his weaknesses lie. He brings it and puts on a show every single time. Tonight will be no different as he looks to become Carnage Fighting Championship's inaugural welterweight champion.

Dave's Prediction: Da Silva via KO

That's the card. That's some of the best that Vegas has to offer. I hope you've enjoyed this preview of CFC Crown a Champion. Let us know your feedback and thoughts and good luck to all of the fighters involved!

We are currently looking to add to our roster. If you are a 155lb fighter with an ID of 296K or above, come and join the Carnage.

Someone tell me, when are motel bills taken out?

I know this is probably my fault for not checking his finances, but he didn't fly in until today, the day of the fight. So how is it that he gets deported on the same day he arrives?

EDIT: Here's the in-going flight
