Not long now till fight night.

Charles P Snowden has been training like a bad man and he only had bad intentions for every competitor.

1st round is going to be 15 minutes of pure destruction for you Victorio.

Let's see my friend. I hope Snowden is ready or he would be Snowdone.

Snowdens been in the gym Camacho has been at the bar

Hope you enjoy being on your back.

Only one bad guy in this tournament and 15 pussys.

More like when Camacho is hitting the gym, Snowdone be banging with some gay, skinny emo dudes with those stupid nose rings and shit. The tournament is all about my boy, Henrique Camacho and no one gives a fuck about a guy who called Charles P Snowdone which P is for pussy. You even highlighted it with capital letter, sweet job dude.

The P is for prophecy and I see a 1st round knock out coming.

You might wanna tell your sparring partners to go back to your gym because they ain't doing much for camacho can.

Every of Camacho's sparring partner can wipe the floor with Pussy Snowdone, and they all have hard time to edge Camacho in sparring. Edited by Victorio

Hey everyone how are you all doing???

I guess we are all very excited that the first round of The Junior Master of MMA is just around the corner.

Hosted by the good people at

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1473453539logo.jpg

We find ourselves in LA where the next generation of young stars will battle it out to move on to the next round on their quest to become the first ever Junior Master of MMA. Who will take the title? Find out my thoughts on the latest edition of...

http://i.imgur.com/yPwBr4L.png

I am your host Sully and i will be breaking down the fights to give you my thoughts on these young stars.

Junior Masters of MMA Round 1

(PRELIMINARY FIGHT)

Stevie West v Oleg "King" Korolyov

We have two young grapplers opening the card for us as Purple Belt West takes on Korolyov. "King" lost his debut fight while West went an amazing 4-0 before having his momentum stopped in his LFC debut. On paper West has the advantage in both experience and skill. However my gut feeling tells me that an upset is brewing and Korolyv will somehow grind out a decision victory.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Vincze "The Sailor" Adrian v Prince Terrington

We open up the round with a classic grappler v striker matchup as BJJ Blue Belt Adrian faces Muay Thai specialist Terrington. The old cliche, whoever implements their game plan will win. I see Terrington taking the fight to the clinch only to be taken to the ground where Adrian will have the advantage and wear him down to get the tapout victory.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Antonio "Humble" Johnson v Sid Wayne

Sid Wayne moves from the alternate position into the main tournament and he faces fellow Muay Thai fighter Johnson. Wayne has something to prove as he initially did not make it into the final 16 and he wants to prove that he deserves his spot. Look for him to use his size advantage to try and bully Johnson by wearing him down to earn the late TKO.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Junior Wellington v Dennis Sideman

Muay Thai fighter Wellington faces grappler Sideman who also signed up as an alternate hoping to make a spot in the final 16. He gets his chance as he faces Muay Thai fighter Wellington. Preparations for this fight have been good however I am hearing rumours of a contract dispute between Wellington and his gym just days prior to the fight could bring distractions to the camp. Can they solve it between now and fight night? How much will it impact the fight? Sideman to take him down and wear him down for the submission victory.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Redser McCarthy v Stergios Grivas

This one should be a good one for all you lovers of a standup affair. Boxer McCarthy faces Muay Thai fighter Grivas in what should be a slugfest. Both men are roughly the same size although Grivas has the slight reach advantage. Look for him to use that to his advantage as he chops down McCarthy to earn the early stoppage.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Pete L. Juice v Stryker "Bring Da" Payne

In what should be another stand up affair, boxer Pete L. Juice faces Muay Thai fighter Payne. If you are a betting man, you should bet that this will not go to the ground unless it is one man getting KO'd. Who will it be? Well Payne has a noticeable size advantage and i think he can use that to bully Juice. If Juice can survive the early onslaught i think cardio can be a factor, however I feel that Payne will end this quickly in the first round.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

Elliott "Knuckles" Alderson v Alaric Ysengrin

Alaric Ysengrin. Does that name sound familiar? You only have to look up the Ysengrin name to see a long line of champions and contenders. Will Alaric live up to his namesake? His opponent Alderson's only fight is an exhibition sparring match to which he lost to a gardener. He will be looking to prove that he is for real and he faces the tough task of fighting the youngest Ysengrin. Both men are equally skilled on paper with Ysengrin having a big size advantage. Will his power be a factor or will having more than 3 minutes to work on his opponent be an advantage for Alderson? I smell an upset here with Ysengrin rocking Knuckles but Alderson coming back to edge a victory.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

John Henry "Doc" Holiday v Brian Jacks

The boxer with the long reach "Doc" faces the Purple Belt. I predict Henry will use his reach advantage to jab away at Jacks, however I see Jacks somehow being able to close the distance and landing a takedown midway through the fight to to slowly control Doc and earn the submission victory.

(TOURNAMENT FIGHT)

"Hercules" Henrique Camacho v Charles "P" Snowden

We close up the first round of the tournament with wrestler Camacho taking on BJJ Blue Belt Snowden in a chess match on the ground. Both men have been making themselves seen and are confident in their abilities. Who will be the one standing after dominating his opponent on the ground? On paper both men are virtually mirror images of each other, however i feel Snowden has the better cardio and will use that to his advantage to wear down the wrestler to earn the late victory.

(MAIN EVENT)

Tomy Faspred v Holton "Hill" Hamburger

Our Main Event of the evening pits two young fighters putting their undefeated streak on the line. Both men are dangerous on the ground with all 3 of Brown Belt Hamburger's victories coming by way of submission. Faspred is no slouch on the ground but his boxing skills shows he is able to stand up too. Look for Faspred to try to wear Hamburger down while standing however i feel the ground game of Hamburger will be too strong and he will get the takedown and grind Faspred down to earn himself his 4th submission victory in a row.

Camacho moves forwards but Snowden connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Oh Camacho is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Charles Snowden seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Snowden ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Snowden dances in with a quick combination. Camacho is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Snowden snaps Camacho's head back. Camacho stumbles backwards against the cage. Snowden steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Camacho's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Camacho just didn't come prepared.

Overweight, unprepared, I don't think the life of a cage fighter is for you.

Congrats to all winners! Tournament tree should be updated soon, and the fight offers for round 2 will follow shortly after.

To all fighters who lost, if you want to stick with that fighter, I can send a contract reneg if you're interested in joining the LFC Middleweight roster. Lots of competition out there. Even though your fighter lost, doesn't mean he sucks, so he can still become a LFC MW champion! Let me know.

If you want to be released from your current Tournament contract to go somewhere else, let me know also.

So the first round is over and 16 men become 8.

Not a big prize pool, but so far these guys are in line for the following prizes:

Fastest (T)KO - Redser McCarthy with his 30 second KO.

Fastest Sub - Vincze Adrian with his Submission 1:53 into the fight.

Will these guys hang on to these times? Or will someone come in and snatch the prize with a quicker finish?

Here is the updated bracket which you can also see live at http://challonge.com/JMMMA

LFC Hosts the Junior Masters of MMA Round 2

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are sitting comfortably at Sully’s Bar & Grill, while Sully is on vacation. The Junior Masters of MMA’s second round is coming fast, and it’s this Saturday that we’ll see 4 fighters heading to the semi-finals.

You can place your bets for those fights right here.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Doesn’t this place look familiar? That’s right, we’re at Sully’s Bar & Grill, and we’re pretty much half drunk by now, man that’s some strong homebrew he’s got here.

Brett Clarke: Speak for yourself, I’ve loving this brew and I can take more than you do Jared. Not gonna start a fight with you, but you do look kinda weak holding that beer. Anyways, not important, we’re here to talk about the 8 fighters that are left in the Junior Masters of MMA tournament. Round 2 is Saturday night, and here’s the current matchups:

Alaric Ysengrin vs Charles Snowden

Brian Jacks vs Pete L. Juice

Redser McCarthy vs Dennis Sideman

Antonio Johnson vs Vincze Adrian

Brett: These 8 middleweights will battle for a spot in the semi-finals that will be held December 10, at Hyashi’s Lounge in Los Angeles. Who will come out on top? Let’s analyze these matchups.

Alaric Ysengrin vs Charles Snowden

Brett: In this matchup, we get a member of the powerful Ysengrin clan in action. Alaric Ysengrin is already the favorite to win the tournament, especially after his dominant performance in round 1, where he KOed the durable Elliott Alderson in just under a minute. By being an early favorite, Ysengrin has the hype exactly where he wants it, and that’s exactly where he excels. He likes the pressure and he uses it at his advantage, making him an even more dangerous opponent.

Being an excellent striker has its advantages, but will he be able to prevent and defend the ground game of Charles Snowden? That’s what we want to see, cause we know it’s a tough matchup for him. Snowden has also dominated his opponent in the first round of the tournament, as much in the standup than on the ground. While he’s coming in with a great wrestling background, don’t expect him to be scared to throw punches from distance. He will most likely be looking for a takedown, but he knows how to mix strikes in order to get it. Mix it up, and you’ll get better results.

Jared: You know what? Maybe it’s the alcohol talking, but I may put money on Snowden. I’m a huge fan of underdogs, and I have a lot of respect for the whole Ysengrin clan, but they can’t win them all, and I want to think that this is one of these moments.

Brian Jacks vs Pete L. Juice

Brett: We got 2 very durable fighters in this matchup between Brian Jacks and Pete L. Juice. Jacks is a highly skilled grappler, and even though he’s only got a BJJ purple belt, it’s one he’s earned from the Wild Card gym, which is ranked amongst the elites of the sport. He faced a good striker in round 1, but was able to get the fight to the ground and work his magic to get a nice submission win early on. What’s good about Jacks’ standup is that he can take a punch. He’s not highly skilled in striking, but his face sure is a good defense.

Pete L. Juice, like mentioned earlier, is one hell of a durable fighter. He knows he can’t rely on this against Jacks, but at least it’s a very good option. He was able to survive the ground game in round 1 of the tournament and come up with a decision win, dominating the standup quite easily. He’s definitely no match for Jacks in the standup, it’s just a matter of keeping the fight standing long enough to get a good start to the fight. He won’t be able to survive on the ground long enough to pull out a miracle.

Jared: This is the kind of matchup that will definitely be one sided. It think it will be a quick one, but it’s not a fight I’d put my money on. I’d still say that Jacks will be able to get an early takedown and dominate the ground like he does so well.

Redser McCarthy vs Dennis Sideman

Brett: Another striker versus ground fighter matchup right here, but this one should be slightly different. Redser McCarthy showed incredible power and was able to showcase his crazy boxing skills in the first round of the tournament, defeating a striker in just 30 seconds, with a flurry of punches to stun him, to finish it off with an accurate punch right on the button. McCarthy received KO of the night award for that solid performance, and will be looking to impress yet again in Round 2, where he will face a skilled wrestler.

Dennis Sideman came in the tournament as a substitute, and he was quite surprised himself to make it past round 1, getting a TKO victory over his opponent. Sideman signed up as an alternate and was not expecting at all to take part in this tournament. He’s accepting the role of the underdog, and wants to shock the LFC by getting yet another win. He has nothing special other than a decent wrestling background, so it’s all up to how well he will be trained and prepared for his fight.

Jared: Sideman was a surprise to us all, that’s for sure. But McCarthy is just no match for him. I mean, this dude has some serious power, along with accuracy that can’t be ignored. I can easily see this fight going McCarthy’s way, and most likely another quick finish for him. He’s just that impressive to see in the cage.

Antonio Johnson vs Vincze Adrian

Brett: Last fight on the tournament tree, and yet another standup/grappler matchup. We have Antonio Johnson, who’s Muay Thai is just incredibly good, but he’s not the typical MT fighter, he’s all about punches from what we saw. He seems to use the ol’ boxer methods when he steps in the cage, using punches and dirty boxing in the clinch, which worked perfectly in the first round of the tournament, when he completely dominated his opponent to win an easy decision. He was able to shut down his opponent and limit damage, which was pretty impressive to see. It’s like he prepared to fight for 5 rounds, since he didn’t look gassed at all at the end of the fight.

His opponent, Vincze Adrian, will most likely show him what the mat looks from close up. The amazing grappler has shown his superior skills in round 1, where he got clinched, pulled guard, gained the top position and got an armbar submission win, all that in under 2 minutes of fighting. This is what can be really impressive about BJJ experts, they will bring the fight to the ground, even if they have to give you top position. Being that skilled on the ground, there’s one thing Adrian has yet to show us, he hasn’t taken a punch yet. If he gets punched a couple times before he can work his magic, it could be game changer, so we’ll see what McCarthy has planned for him.

Jared: I like to think that McCarthy is too much for Adrian, meaning he will strike him enough to slow him down and keep the fight standing. But that’s another thing. We haven't seen McCarthy’s takedown defense at all, so we don’t know if he’s going to be able to keep the fight up to where he’s comfortable. Nevertheless, another great fight expected in that tournament.
