"Ca$h 💵" Alois Huallpa Rimachi

Press release via Crazy Horse media from BWMMA 135 Tournament Contender Alois Huallpa Rimachi:

"First, I would also like to acknowledge the good work put into the posters. They're so thoughtful they even included the below device which my opponent Joseph Kuruvila will require to prevent incontinence after I beat the breaks off him.

image.png.1a0b595767df3c32b730743ea41ee903.png

I'm at a disadvantage because I had to train for a professional lay and pray merchant my first round while Joseph had all the time to finesse his hugging skills without having to be a well rounded fighter. Unluckily for him however, I'm at a world class gym with world class training partners. Joseph has joined a slightly shiny Anytime Fitness and trains with a literal cucumber as a sparring partner at his gym. Feel free to fact check that statement, just like I'll fact check his skills in the cage this weekend."

Loving some of the talk between you guys. As always loving the posters. Keep up the enthusiasm. As I have just returned not really a lot of time to do a write up as the only day I have off before the event I have errands to run all day to catch up on things on the home front. That being said I will be doing a review for the event though. So put on a good show and performance and make the review. Again thank you guys for your support and understanding for me being away and thank you to the staff for holding it down for me.

Big Wave XIII Review:

Filip Yumashev and World Peace went all the way to the third round before coming to an end. It was no surprise which way the fight was going. World Peace was doing a better job of trying to mix up the tactics but Yumashev employed the if it ain't broke don't fix it philosophy to his style for the night. Peace kept pace pretty well with volume of strikes except almost nothing thrown was landing, and wasted a lot of energy on a bunch of failed takedown attempts and the two he did score he shortly stood up after. Yumashev was throwing jabs and combos all night long landing with almost everything and finally put Peace away in the third.

Joseph Kuruvila and Alois Huallpa Rimachi was a very fast fight. It started out with Rimachi showing no respect for Kuruvila's fabled power at 135 and he dropped his hands took a jab and was immediately opened up. Kuruvila decides to return the favor and drops his hands and takes a shot from Rimachi and shrugs it off. Kuruvila lands a shot and then a body kick. Oh he lands a big right and that put Rimachi on the ground. Kuruvila waves Rimachi back up. Rimachi takes a leg kick and then looks up at the clock and it's only been 30 seconds, as he looks away Kuruvila lands another big right and is out cold. The ref jumps in to save Rimachi and Rimachi is so out of it he's attacking the judge thinking he is Kuruvila.

Alex Victorino vs Paul Kerr was fast and I admit I had it picked the other way. And it was one sided as it can get. Kerr made Victorino look foolish out there. Victorino landed 0 shots against Kerr and Kerr landed 100% of his shots and combinations. And there were quite a few combinations. As you can imagine it didn't take long before before Kerr drops Victorino and just batters him until the ref comes to Victorino's aide.

The main event is what brought most of not all 554 people in attendance tonight to as the King of 265 Enrico Fermi was fighting and this time against a talented youngster that arguably could be considered his toughest opponent yet in Kevin Taylor. Fermi handled the fight in true Fermi fashion ending the fight in the first round. Still not only has no one been able to make it out of the first round with the champion yet but no one has ever lasted 3 minutes with the champion yet. Anyways the fight opens with Fermi circling away from the clinch and clips Taylor with a right that sends him to ground. Fermi waves him back to the feet looking for that KO. It appears that shot had cut Taylor. Fermi lands a body shot that stuns Taylor. Taylor clinches with Fermi. Fermi lands a vicious uppercut that knocks Taylor up against the cage and just unloads a barrage of hard shots before the ref finally has seend enough and call the fight. Fermi makes hai feelings known to the ref as he is screaming at him for abuse letting Taylor take a bunch of unessary damage.

Big Wave XIII: Preview:

August 20th, 2022 if you are looking for something to do and find yourself in Hawaii then get to Hilo for the Big Wave event. Big Wave has started gaining a lot of interest in Hawaii and is getting more and more fans in attendance as it's the highest ranked fighting organization in Hilo and 25th globally. This event not only has what promises to be 8 action packed fights but also the crowning of the very first ever 185 pound champion for the organization. Ask any fan or any of the fighters in the organization a title match here is earned so you can expect a match for first ever in a division that both fighters will be as game as any.

First fight on the undercard is between Diego Lacasa and Detritus Rubble. Which is 2 135 pound fighters that were eliminated in the 135 pound tournament. Both guys are young, hungry, and eager to get in the winning column and show they not only belong but aim to keep progressing and eventually challenge for the title after the tournament ends. Lacasa is a boxer with a little bit of wrestling and lost to Farman who has made it to the semifinals. Not much has changed in his skillet since the loss in the first round, but rumours have it he has been hitting the gym and will be faster, more agile, and stronger in this fight as he comes into it literally in the best shape of his young life. Rubble is both a boxer and a wrestler and he lost to Yumashev who also has made it to the semifinals. Like Lacasa Rubble has been focusing his training on the physical aspects of his game while hitting the mits only here and there. Be looking for this one to be a stand up technical striking war between two very athletic young fighters.

Second fight on the undercard is also between two fighters who lost in the first round of the 135 pound tournament as Ryan Steinbeck and Hiroshi Gomi square off. Steinbeck is a well rounded MMA fighter. He can strike, wrestle, and grapple. He was one of the early picks in the tournament before he got eliminated and submitted by World Peace. He has since been keeping his skills sharp and rumour has it picked up golfing as a form of meditation. Gomi is as tough as nails having gone the distance with Kuruvila who said to have been the heaviest handed guy in the tournament and has made it to the semifinals. Gomi like Lacasa is a great boxer with a bit of wrestling. Gomi in preparation for this fight has been in the gym several hours a day running, and lifting. Not the best approach given who is opponent is in my opinion but hopefully it works out for him. One thing for sure is if Kuruvila didn't knock him out in 3 I don't see Steinbeck knocking him out on the feet in 3 either. But will the fight take place there is the question.

Third fight on the undercard is a 155 pound fight between Jaxen Christ and Oscar Hamid. Christ is 19 and 1-1. He had an impressive showing on the regional circuit that had Big Wave chomping at the bit to sign him and then lost via decision in his debute. He's a kickboxer who has been rounding out his skills. Hamid is also 19 and making his professional MMA debute in the honored cages of Big Wave. When asked what style does Hamid fight his answer was pretty simple "MMA". So expect a very well rounded skill set from this man in his debute.

Final fight on the undercard is between two 25 year olds at 170. It is between Lexus Chaos and Alejandro Laguera. Chaos is making his MMA debute right here at Big Wave. He was golden gloves boxer in the United States and had both an amateur and professional boxing record. Amateur 6-0 and professional 1-0. He got invited to Rio de Janeiro to help their boxing in exchange for grappling and convinced him that MMA had a better future than boxing. That was a year ago. How much the exchange of lessons has benefited we shall find out soon. Laguera is 0-1 but making his Big Wave debute and his style is MMA. It's said he is a true jack of all trades not being particularly great not bad at anything. So expect him to have a tactical style to the way he fights.

The first fight on the main card is 155 pound fight between Kieth Stokes and Pierre De Pain. Stokes will be making his professional MMA debute here at Big Wave and is 18 years old. He is a very technical striker and coaches and scouts seem to rave about the fluidity of his strikes. It's said in preparation for his debute he has been solely training his ground game. So will he be looking to showcase that aspect of his game he has been working on? De Pain is 18 years old 0-1 and is a pure boxer making his Big Wave debute. But a very talented one and rumors are has been bulking up hitting the weights for the fight looking to try and take Stokes head off.

Second fight on the main card is a 145 pound fight between Iakob Tusishivli and Marcos De Lima. Tusishivli is 23 years old 3-1 and was picked by Big Wave after coming in second in a regional MMA tournament. Despite having a well rounded skill set he loves to stand and bang it out. De Lima 25 is 1-2 and will be looking for his first win inside the cages of Big Wave. As everyone knows the story of De Lima has been tragic thus far. He was a wrestling Olympic hopeful before injuring his knee. Made quick work securing a submission victory on the regional scene and was picked up by Big Wave and loss to Dawson and both wanted to run it back and loss again. He will be looking to turn the tide in this one.

The Co-Main event is a 155 pound fight between Liber Lambart and Yamapi Chan. Lambart is 19 3-0 and has been wanting to fight for the title and a win here could very well put him in line for it. Lambart is one of the most prolific strikers in the division. Chan is is also 19 and 1-1. Chan is a boxer and a wrestler. He will be looking to show he has the talent to stand toe to toe with Lambart.

The Main Event is a 185 pound title fight, for who will be the first ever champion of the 185 division. Olly Holy is 19 2-0 and everyone knows a BJJ specialist and has been working majorly on his wrestling to go along with his grappling. He has been one of the most dominant fighters in the entire organization with no one lasting so much as a single minute against him. Oldion Davis is 25 2-0 and is a striker with exceptionally strong punching power. Also no one has been able to last a single minute against him either. This promises to be a don't blink type of title match as if you do you could miss either an instant submission by Holy or an instant flash Knock Out by Davis.

Sanka Coffee: Feel the rhythm feel the rhyme get on up it's MMA time!!! I have the first ever 155 champion at Big Wave MMA with me today Jacob Handler! welcome to my show Jake.

Handler: Thanks for having me, this is monumental stuff right here.. It’s MMA time with the FACE of WAVE and soon to be the face of MMA. It’s a pleasure.

Sanka Coffee: So you will be having your first title defense at the semifinals of the 135 pound tournament and be the fight to draw in the crowds like Enrico Fermi has been doing. How do you feel about your name and position of champion being used to draw eyes on these young fighters? Do you feel like Fermi and it's a way of giving back, or being a young fighter yourself not like it?

Handler: I love putting these guys names in the spotlight, I haven’t kept up with the tournament much but I know those guys are all hungry and want to show their stride. It’s just another day in the office but ya know, it feels good to be in the place I’m at. Nobody on this roster is as brash and honest as me fuck, I’d be dying to see me fight too so I don’t blame them. (winks egotistically)

Sanka Coffee: So your defense is against Kakashi Hataki who is 26 and made a decent name for himself on the island. What do you think of your opponent and that even though you are the champion he is currently ranked higher than you in the world for the division and p4p?

Handler: He’s definitely a worthy opponent, at least more worthy then the bum I won the title beating. He’s a well rounded fighter who can bring the fight anywhere and that’s what people should expect from this fight. Anybody can be ranked higher then me Sanka, but anyone who knows the fighting game and appreciates war knows I’m the face of the company. These island guys are chumps to be honest with you, they go on that little island for some stupid reality tv show about “who’s the best” and then they come back from their stupid little island and actually face THE BEST and get clobbered. I’m not taking him lightly at all, he’s exactly the matchup that people would say “oh that could be an issue for him” but I’m “The Problem” and I’ll show exactly why. 2nd or 3rd round knockout, and if he doesn’t wanna go to sleep I’ll choke him to sleep. Simple as that.

Sanka Coffee: I know the division has gotten a lot of new blood recently with quite a few guys haven't having a professional fight yet, or has losing records. Are you a bit concerned that after your defense winning might mean you having to sit on the shelf waiting for someone to climb the ladder to be able to challenge you and getting rusty?

Handler: I’m so glad you mentioned that Sanka! I can’t get rusty honestly, every time I step into a WAVE cage people will realize I’m climbing each and every time… Reaching a new level of skill and power each time, and after awhile it won’t be a surprise and I’ll be recognized as the king of the WAVE cage let alone my division.. Who knows in the future if I’m stuck on the shelf waiting for a worthy contender, the boss might make a call when I’m with my last victims mistress and schedule a super fight in another weight. And that screams dollars so it makes CENTS, you get me? I get I’m just some 3-0 fighter with a whole lot to say, but the fans and the new blood in the 155 division better buckle up because you’re gonna be seeing me with the belt wrapped around my shoulder for awhileee.

(All Handler responses answered by Teyo the manager of the fighter. Just so you all know it was an actual interview.)

Big Wave XIII Review:

First want to say thank all of you for your hard work. Not only are you growing and bringing in new fans but the fights you guy's are putting on is increasing the reputation of Big Wave which is also helping bringing in fans. Last 3 events we have had more fans in attendance each time. Also haven't had a loss of income in the last 3 events. Previous fights just a couple thousand extra but this one I upped the fighter reward from $500 to $1000 because I could afford it and show appreciation and we had 625 fans in attendance and brought in $20k above expenses. If this trend continues the starting contracts will stay the same but it will allow to start paying you guys better than you have on re-signing. So again thank you for your hard work. Now that I have got that out of the way in typical review fashion not all fights will be talked about.

The opening fight on the card was between Diego Lacasa and Detritus Rubble. If nothing else tells you how great a fight it was then this the fight review won't matter. Yes it went to decision and it got Fight of the Night. It started the event off right as it was a fight that went to decision and still got a 100% fan approval rating. That is rare. It starts off by Lacasa opening up with a three punch combination and then followed by some nice slipping of strikes by Lacasa. Then those rumors I heard must have sounded true about Lacasa hitting the gym and working on physique because it wasn't long before the commentators commented on how much more muscular he is looking for this fight. And then hearing the same rumor about Rubble must have been dead because the commentators talked about how he is also looking much more muscular in this fight too. Rubble lands a big body shot to Lacasa most likely to try and wear on him and stop his footwork that is causing problems early. Some more misses by Rubble. Lacasa lands a love tap jab for distance and follows it by slamming home a straight right down the middle. That's gotta hurt. Rubble cracks a nice hook right into Lacasa's ribs. Then Rubble starts avoiding shots by Lacasa afterwords. And all that happened in just the first minute of the fight. And every minute after looked very similar with Lacasa out pacing him and being the harder to hit fighter but both men definitely having their moments. Winner by unanimous decision Diego Lacasa!!!

Jaxen Christ and Oscar Hamid was well received as well as fans seem to love those flash Knock Outs. It starts off with Hamid coming out early with some strikes and missing and Christ changes levels and digs a nice body shot into Hamid for his troubles. That instantly must have had an effect on Hamid as Christ instantly started pouring on the pressure. Christ hits Hamid on the button. Hamid swings and misses and Christ counter with a right hand to side of the head. Hamid is hurt! Christ misses an uppercut and Hamid counters with a nice one two combination. Hamid still on wobbly legs though. Not even a minute into the fight yet and Hamid already looking at the clock and no love from Christ as he takes the opportunity to load up on a huge right hand that sends Hamid crashing to the canvas. Christ pounces on him and started throwing punches and elbows as the ref is rushing in to stop the fight. Your winner by TKO Jaxen Christ!!!

Lexus Chaos and Alejandro Laguera was also a flash knockout fight and as such fans loved it. It starts off with Chaos landing with a right hand. Chaos tries to clinch but Laguera avoid the clinch and lands a nice combination consisting of a jab, cross, and a leg kick. It looked smooth as silk and can tell his training camp definitely has drilled that combination into him. Laguera throws a nice hook to the body that has the crowd cheering. Laguera misses with a head kick followed by a few misses from Chaos. Chaos lands a nice shot. Oh and now a beautiful overhand right and the fans are on their feet cheering. Well we can say one thing for the fans here tonight they ain't loyal. Laguera seems unfazed though. A nice jab lands from Chaos. Oh Chaos throws another monster overhand right and Laguera drops. Chaos jumps in mount and starts throwing strikes. The ref practically tackles Chaos off of Laguera trying to rush in so fast. Your winner by TKO Lexus Chaos!!!

The Co-Main event is between Liber Lambart and Yamapi Chan. Lambart crouches low like an in-fighter boxer going in close and lands a brilliant uppercut. Chan clinches up. Lambart breaks the clinch. Lambart lands with a slap and gets warned by the ref to keep his fist closed. Chan lands a liver punch to Lambart that would have Bas Rutten standing and cheering. Chan tries for a takedown but Lambart says no joy as he defends it nicely. Commentator talking about how muscular Lambart is looking for this fight and I'm starting to wonder about this commentators preferences paying so much attention to how these fighters look. Lambart connects a good right hand that stumbles Chan. Chan dashes away defensively as far away as he can staying out of range to try and get his legs back. After Chan got another takedown stuffed and avoided a shot from Lambart, Lambart lands a straight right. That seemed to make Chan angry as he hits his chest and goes in. Lambart scores with a nice shot and backs away. Chan is hurt! But he still decides to close the distance. This is why they tell you to keep your cool during a fight as this is not a smart move. Lambart lands with a beautiful cross and that it he turns around and walks away. The ref calls it. Your winner by a walk away Knock Out Liber Lambart!!!

The Main Event of the evening is for the first ever 185 pound Champion at Big Wave is between Olly Holy and Oldion Davis. Bell rings and Davis misses with a punch and Holy saw that coming. Holy clinches up with Davis. Again our commentator mentions how much muscular a fighter is looking as he comments on Holy's physique. Davis is trying to break the clinch but nice control from Holy to keep it in the clinch. Holy jumps up and manages to pull guard. Holy throws his legs up looking for a triangle but Davis sees it coming and defends it nicely. Holy pushes a forearm under Davis' chin to create some space. He pivots oh he's got the arm! He extends it! Davis is tapping! Davis is tapping! Your winner by submission via armbar in the Very First Round in the 185 pound division your champion Olly Holy!!!

Big Wave MMA XIV Preview:

On August 27th in Hilo, Hawaii there will be a great event held by Big Wave MMA right at Wild Bob's Bar. So if you find yourself in Hilo you better get on down to Wild Bob's and see the show from both this rapidly rising organization and these rising mma stars. You can go to any of the Nutritional Shaved Ice shops popping up all over Hawaii to buy a ticket for $150 as they are our sponsor or go our website bigwavemma.com(Not an actual site as far as I know) and buy a ticket.

The first fight on the card is a 185 pound fight between Randy Suico and Johnson Henry. Both of these veterans are winless in their MMA careers. So strap in for a reverse somebody's 0 must go match. Suico is 25 years old 0-2 and needs no introduction to Big Wave as his last fight was against Marcus Greene. Suico being well rounded is still trying to find his style and way in MMA. Henry is 26 years old 0-3 and has only fought on the regional circuit and will be making his Big Wave debute. He's a boxer with a bit of wrestling and bjj to fall back on.

The second fight on the card is also a 185 pound fight. This one is between Phol Hunter and John Karter. Both of these fighters are 19 years old. Hunter is 3-0 and coming off his first appearance and win at Big Wave when he beat Flemeth Davis in the first round which was also the first fight at 185 and stoppage win of his career. He is an exceptional wrestler with all the tools as he is very well rounded. Karter is 0-2 and coming off a decision loss to Bobby Wayz. As everyone knows when it comes to the striking game Karter is as game as they come. He has been working on his wrestling which he will end in this one.

Third fight on the card is a 205 pound fight between Celestyn Kluz and Johnny Valiant. Kluz has been here in the Big Wave cages since day 1. He is 19 and 1-2. He is coming off his first win. It was against Frank Clark. He started out as a pure Muay Thai guy and has since been working on keeping the striking sharp while learning wrestling and bjj to help him wherever the fight may go. Valiant is 25 and 1-0. He is making his Big Wave debute. He's a striker first but has a well rounded game. Strap on in because this promises to be a good fight.

Fourth and final fight on the prelims is a 185 pound fight between two 19 year olds Marcus Greene and Bastien Harris. Greene 2-1 as we all know is a boxer. Since coming into the sport he has learned he has learned the importance of needing takedown defense and has been working diligently in that aspect and it is starting show as he is looking more comfortable relying on his boxing and letting his hands fly and not worrying about the takedown. Harris 1-2 and coming off his first win of both his career and in the cages of Big Wave. He started out as a pure striker as well. He has been working on his skills day in and out becoming a well rounded fighter.

The first fight on the main card is a 170 pound bout between Akahoshi Hisashi and Albert Hofmann. Hisashi is 19 3-0 and the cusp of a title fight. He is a prolific striker and decent grappler with a record to back it up with 2KOs and 1 Submission. He very well might need that ground game in this one. Hofmann is 19 1-0 and making his Big Wave debute. He is one of if the not the best wrestler in the division and has BJJ blue belt to go along with that wrestling. If it goes to the ground it very well could be anyone's game.

Second fight on the main card is a 185 pound fight between Howie Robinson and Calidale Holiday. Both men are 25 with a 2-1 record. Robinson is bjj specialist with a brown belt in it. Since coming to mma he has started working on wrestling and striking. He is ready to be putting up a fight. Holiday is a wrestler first. When he decided to join MMA he decided pick bjj and striking. Since he has earned a blue belt in bjj.

The Co-Main event is a 265 pound fight between Bradley Robertson and Henrique Falcono. Robertson is 26 3-2 and everyone who is a fan of Big Wave definitely knows his name. He has been here since the beginning. Everyone knows he is a talented wrestler and bjj practitioner making him a true grappler. He has switched camps and didn't lose a step winning his last fight in 59 seconds. A win here might just put him in position to take on the champion Fermi to try for some revenge. Falcono is 25 2-0 and making his Big Wave debute. He is a wrestler and Muay Thai expert. He will be looking to make a statement for himself in the organization.

The Main Event is a 185 pound fight between Peter Nicholson and Talon Cannonier. Nicholson is 26 5-0 and a win here will most certainly put him in line for a title shot. He is a boxer with plenty of power and has a bit of wrestling and some bjj skills. Cannonier is 25 1-0 and is an excellent wrestler and picked up Muay Thai which couples well with his Greco Roman style. This fight just like the card promises to be an excellent one.

Big Wave MMA XIV Review:

We had another good night of fights and brought in a crowd. We still haven't filled all the seats at Wild Bob's yet but we have 636 in attendance. In Big Wave fashion you earn your reviews. For those of you that didn't make the review sorry about that but always next fight.

Phol Hunter vs John Karter was our fight of the night winner. Round one is underway and Hunter clinches. Karter misses with a knee to the head. A few more misses and finally Karter lands an uppercut. Then Hunter wakes up and starts pushing the action with a shoulder strike and then an uppercut. He starts coming alive and really bring the action to Karter. Karter looks for a way out and finally breaks the clinch. Hunter starts picking Karter apart from the outside. Round comes and ends with Karter being rocked. And in round 3 Hunter puts Karter out on the feet only thing holding him up is the cage but the ref refuses to jump in to stop the fight so Hunter starts waiting on him and then the ref jumps in. Hunter starts going off on the ref for not doing his job. Your winner by TKO Phol Hunter!!!

Bastien Harris and Marcus Greene was the fight that got Knock Out of the night. The fight pretty much went Harris getting the fight in the clinch and then just overwhelming Greene with shots to the head and the body. Harris was absolutely relentless in the clinch. Second round comes along he lands an uppercut in the clinch and then swarms on Greene until the ref finally rushes in to save Greene from receiving any permanent damage.

Bradley Robertson and Henrique Falcono was the fight that got submission of the night. Which this fight was an important fight for both of these guys as they both had title implications on the line. Falcono rushes in and lands a body shot. Then he pushes Robertson against the cage putting the fight in the clinch. Falcono lands a nice uppercut. Robertson fails a takedown and this could be a bad idea from Falcono putting the fight in the clinch giving a grappler like Robertson his hands on him for free. Robertson lifts Falcono up. He slams him down and lands in half guard. Falcono tries to sweep but Robertson says no. Robertson lands a shot while on top. Oh Robertson has the arm isolated. He's trying for a Kimura. Falcono is defending well. Robertson steps over Falcono's head and is tweaking the arm. And he wastes no time tapping. Your winner by Submission is Bradley Robertson!!!

Big Wave MMA XV Preview:

We just had an event and already as you walk around Hawaii and especially Hilo you can see posters for Big Wave MMA XV.  If you are a tourist and curious about the event or getting tickets like the poster says online tickets are available, but you can ask virtually any native and they know where you can buy a ticket in person, the website to buy it on, and where Wild Bob's Bar is located. Because it is big in Hawaii and thanks to things like YouTube is starting to gain traction globally as well. If you go into a Nutritional Shaved Ice and picked up one of the pamphlets and opened it up it would read:

The first fight on the card is a 185 pound bout between Rock Lee and Bobby Carthew. Lee is 18 years old and making his professional debute inside the cages of Big Wave. He is from Japan and is said to have a Karate style and is a highly touted young martial artists in Japan. When he signed to Big Wave he moved out to Las Vegas to train at Roosters Coop. Carthew as you know is also 18 0-1 and has already fought in Big Wave before. He has a Greco Roman Wrestling style and uses it to keep the fight on the feet as he has a decent mix bag of tricks in the striking game.

The second fight on the card is a 265 pound clash between Sophus Antias and Lysander Pollio. Antias is 18 years old 4-0 and had made a splash on the regional scene before swimming the waves here and he swam to shore at a blistering pace using his bjj. He is a purple belt and has won all 4 fights by way of submission. Pollio is also 18 and is 2-1. He also had made a name for himself on the regional going 2-0 but drowned when he tried to swim our waves. He is a grappler that prioritizes his wrestling to his bjj. This has all the makings of good ground battle.

The third fight on the card is a 185 pound fight between Rob Ross and Baki Hanma. Ross is 18 years old and making his professional debute inside the Big Wave cage. He was a grappler mixing his Judo skills and his bjj skills into a real threat, but since signing on the dotted line he has worked on his striking skills. Hanma is also 18 and making his professional debute inside the our cage. He is a BJJ specialist from Japan with a brown belt in it. He like Rock Lee also moved out to Las Vegas to train at Roosters Coop after signing with Big Wave.

First fight on the main card is a 205 pound bout between Kari Parisyen and Enokentiy Klimov. Parisyen is 26 years old 1-2 and is on a 2 fight losing streak and will be looking to get back into the winning column. He is a tremendous boxer who has a bit of wrestling experience to keep the fight standing. He always is a punch away from ending a fight at any moment. Klimov is 19 years old 2-0. He is also one of the best boxers in the division and has been sharpening his striking tools to more than just punches and has been learning some ground skills as well.

Second fight on the main card is a 185 pound fight between Neesum Mo and Rael Adesanya. Mo is 19 2-0 and one of the best strikers in the division. He is starting to come along with his takedown defense as it's vastly improving and a win here will certainly have him up for a title fight. Adesanya is 25 2-1 and making his Big Wave debute. He is coming off a loss on the regional scene. He has a Muay Thai style and a bit of jui jitsu to fall back on if need be. While only having had fought on the regional scene should prove to be a good test for Mo on being ready or not to fight for the title.

The Co-Main event is a 205 pound clash between Brenin Arthur and Mma Jake. Which is a perfect Co-Main for this event as the winner of this fight should be facing who wins the title in the Main Event. Arthur is 26 2-0 and a true grappler. He hasn't wrestled since high school and his wrestling wrestling has looked good but a bit rusty and has bjj brown belt. Once the fight goes to the ground make no mistake he is as game as any fighter on the roster. Jake is 19 1-0 and is a stand out natural grappler. He was scouted by Shut Up and Train! in London to help teach wrestling and bjj classes. He packed up his stuff in Cleveland and moved across the pond. This should be a good chess match of ground skills.

The Main Event is a 205 pound bout between Orvar Odd Lodinkinni and Lutalo Masamba for the very first ever 205 champion. Lodinkinni is 19 2-0 and one of most natural strikers we have had at Big Wave. His footwork and boxing is on point and his wrestling and takedown defense is vastly improved since his first fight at Big Wave as is his already prolific striking skills. Masamba is 19 3-0. His wrestling and takedown defense is some of the best in the division and had a few professional Muay Thai fights before switching to mma. It's no surprise he has been able to make opponents look foolish on the feet. This fight is not only for first 205 champion but also should pose as an action packed slug fest.

Big Wave XV Review:

While we have been pulling in a tad over 600 as of late attendance had slacked off a bit for this one as we pulled in just 550 for this card. But we still had some good fights. If your fight isn't on the review then stop your opponent sooner and get an award or excite the crowd. As in Big Wave fashion we do our reviews in highlight reel fashion. What fights are going to be talked about? The ones where something exciting happened.

The first fight we are going to talk about is card opener which got the fans in cheering in joy. I'm talking about our Knock Out of the Night winning fight between Jeffrey Thibodeaux and Arman Brown. Fight starts off with Brown rushing in and landing a nice head shot. Thibodeaux checks a leg kick. But brown lands with a follow up left to the chin. Brown feints and then lands a huge overhand right. Oh no Thibodeaux drops to the canvas. He barrel rolls backward and pushes off the cage springing back up to his feet. That's was a nice defensive agile maneuver. Thibodeaux still looks wobbly though. Brown throws a straight right and it goes right through Thibodeaux's hands and lands smoothly on the chin and he drops. Brown just walks away and that is all she wrote folks! Your winner by a walk off Knockout in the VERY FIRST Round Arman Brown!!!

The second fight we are going to review is our Submission of the Night winning fight between Sophus Antias and Lysander Pollio. Fight opens up with Antias failing a takedown. Pollio lands a nice uppercut. Oooh that uppercut has cut Antias. Antias his Pollio with a left and circles away. Oooh now Poolio is cut as well. Antias bob's and weaves as he closes the distance and he changes levels and lands a takedown into side control. After some boring action the ref stands the fight back up. I for one am always against ref stand ups. If the guy can't get back to his feet or out of the situation you can't penalize the guy who worked for and earned an advantageous position. Antias lands a shot that glances off the side of Pollio's head. It looks like that has made the cut even worse. Pollio lands a takedown. What's this Antias has hold of Pollio's head. It looks like a guillotine attempt but he's in half guard and it's going to be hard to finish from there. What's this? Antias has slipped his leg out from between the legs of Pollio and has wrapped his legs around Pollio's back together and is pulling on the guillotine. Oh it's tight here folks. Pollio goes limp. Antias shoves Pollio off of him as the fight is over and jumps for joy. Your winner by submission via guillotine in the Very First Round Sophus Antias!!!

The next and final fight to really review is the Fight of the Night winner between Kari Parisyen and Enokentiy Klimov. Parisyen walks into a jab right in the nose. He tries blinking to clear his vision as his eyes water. Klimov walks into a jab. It's beginning to look like we might be in for a brawl style of fight as they are just walking into each other's shots. Klimov with a jab. Parisyen with a hook. Oh they are trading shots a one from Klimov, a one from Parisyen, a left from Klimov, a left from Parisyen oh and that backs Klimov up and now a one two from Parisyen and it looks like Parisyen won that exchange. Then a bunch more back and forth for the rest of the round. The announcer says it's close but probably have it to Klimov. If I had to guess I would say for aggression as he was the one moving forward most of the time. But Parisyen was slightly getting the better of the exchanges. Second round starts out much like the first. And then all of a sudden Parisyen lands a big right hand that sends Klimov crashing to the floor. Klimov bounces right back to his feet. Parisyen lands a nice uppercut and that backs him up but Parisyen lands another shot and drops Klimov. Parisyen jumps on top of Klimov not giving him time to recover. Lands a few shots and the ref jumps in to save him. Your winner by TKO in the second round Kari Parisyen!!!

And just a quick touch up on the Co-Main and Main event. Brenin Arthur won via submission with just 3 seconds left in the fight. It looks like he will end up getting his title shot. Lutalo Masamba made a massacre of Orvar Odd Lodinkinni as he made a Jackson Pollock painting out of Lodinkinni's face. The doctor had to step and declared that it was too dangerous to continue. Masamba becomes the first 305 champion.

Big Wave XVI: Semifinals Preview:

This promises to be one heck of an event. We have the Semifinals on tap for you which is the Semifinals of the biggest tournament in Big Wave history full of lots young talent and future stars. And we also have the first title defense in 155 history. Don't let that start fool anyone as I'm proud of every fighter on the roster. Now if you find yourself in Hawaii on September 10th you should get a ticket for this stellar event.

First fight of the evening is a 265 pound bout scheduled between Lorde Mannion and Asanoyama Hideki. Both of these young 265ers are no stranger to the Big Wave cage. Mannion is 19 2-1 and is as well rounded as anyone. He is prepared wherever the fight may go. Hideki is 18 0-1 and is a fellow well rounded fighters. Expect each one of these heavyweights to feel the other out and have a chess match style of fight.

Second fight on the card is 170 pound bout between Henry Reichert and Mr Bean. Reichert is 25 0-2 and has a well rounded style. So far he hasn't had the best luck but he will be looking to turn that luck around in this fight. Bean is 19 and making his professional debute. Bean is a pure striker. Will he dominate on the feet or will he learn in mma you need some wrestling at least one way or another.

Third fight on the card is a 265 pound bout between Nik Pappadopoulos and Yung Brady. Pappadopoulos is 26 2-2 and is a D2 collegiate champion wrestler. He has been using that to take opponents down and punish them with brutal ground and pound. Make no mistake he has a blue belt in bjj as he is learning that side of the ground game as well and has been working diligently since coming to mma on his striking. Brady is 19 1-1 and is a prolific striker. He has all the talent in the world in that area of the game. He has worked his way into a decent ground game to go with it.

Final fight on the undercard is a 170 pound bout between Jay Read and Magomed Omarov. Read is 19 3-0 and has been a staple in the 170 division since day 1. A win here and there will be no denying him a shot at the first 170 championship belt. He has a tremendous skill in Muay Thai and his takedown defense has become some of the best in the division. Omarov is 18 and making his professional debute. Omarov has some of the most technical striking in the division. Don't count the newcomer out to pull off the upset.

The first fight on the main card is a 145 pound fight between Diogo Martins and Thomas Dawson. Martins is 19 1-2 and is another fighter that has been here since day 1. As everyone knows Martins has some of the best striking in the division and has been rounding out his game. Dawson is 26 2-1 and is a boxer. A win here to either guy will put them up for a fight for first 145 champion.

Second fight on the main card is one of the two Semifinal fights of the 135 pound tournament. It is between Joseph Kuruvila and Filip Yumashev. Kuruvila is 18 2-0 and has been working on his takedown defense and is one of the best Muay Thai fighters in the organization and has some major power behind his shots. Yumashev is 18 2-0 and is a fellow Muay Thai fighter but has decent wrestling to go along with it. He also has some powerful shots. Expect this one to be a toe to toe war.

The Co-Main Event is also a Semifinals fight from the 135 pound tournament. This one is between Abasi Njagi and Zafir Farman. Njagi is 18 3-0 and came into this tournament as BJJ specialist with a brown belt in it. The belt is still brown but he has since become a decent wrestler and judo practitioner to help him get the fight where he loves it to be. Farman is 18 2-0 and is a Muay Thai specialist who has incredible takedown defense which he will need in this fight and has been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for his fight against Njagi.

The Main Event is a 155 pound title match between the defending champion Jacob Handler and Kakashi Hataki. Handler is 19 3-0 and as everyone knows is a boxer and a wrestler. He has shown he has the cardio to go the championship rounds in his title match against Zapina. As he said in his interview Hataki is a good fighter but he has all the confidence in the world that he will be walking away with his belt still in hand. Hataki is 26 6-1 and is a grappler from the island that has turned into a well rounded fighters with the record to show it with 2 KOs, 2 Submissions, and 2 decisions. This title fight here alone is worth the price of admission.

Big Wave XVI Review:

We had 627 fans in attendance. And was an event that had no fight of the night winner as no fight on the card had a fan appreciation value of at least 80% which is rare as you guys always bring it. But I know all of you will have the fans roaring for your fighters in their next outing. After this event we moved up 1 spot in the world rankings from 27 to 26th. We climbing for that top 20 spot. You guys rock. Keep climbing. We keep working our way up. And again not a big revenue win but we still broke positive again. So that's good. Can't wait for the day when we are selling 1k+ tickets then by math can afford to almost double pay. You all know that is the eventual plan to pay it forward to your fighters keeping my profit margin small and the bulk of the money going to the fighters. Now let's get on with the two fights that won a reward.

Abasi Njagi and Zafir Farman the Co Main Event was the winner of Knock Out of the Night which probably already tells you who won that fight. The fight opened up with Farman faking to his left and unloading an uppercut on Njagi. Njagi missed a couple takedowns then Farman feints again and lands a jab to the body. Then Njagi walks right into another jab. Wow Farman showing his increase in that sweet science known as boxing with landing a beautiful 4 punch combination. Another failed takedown attempts from Njagi and Farman counters with an uppercut. He follows with a nice jab. Acknowledgement from Njagi on that one. Farman lands a counter on the button from Njagi's failed takedown attempts. And he is wobbly. Farman ducks down creating about an inch of space between his hand and the ground as he unloads upwards with an uppercut that lifts Njagi off his feet and the ref waves this one off. You winner by Knockout in the VERY FIRST Round Zafir Farman!!!

The Main Event was the other winner of an award Submission of the Night. The fight was the 155 title fight between Jacob Handler and Kakashi Hataki. Should give away the winner but let's see how the fight went. The fight opens up with Handler missing a takedown. Not sure that's a good idea given Hataki being a grappling experts. Speaking of which Hataki counters with a right that lands right on the jaw of Handler. Handler lands a beautiful body shot on Hataki. Then some missing of strikes from both fighters. Handler lands a trip takedown into side control. Nicely done as he has a dominant position here. Hataki sneaks out the side and bucks Handler off! What he's got his back! Hataki is trying for a rear naked choke. Handler sees what he is trying here and defends it nicely and turns into Hataki is now in his guard. Nicely done there indeed. Hataki throws a leg up for a triangle fast. Handler isn't defending. Oh it's tight. Handler is tapping! You winner by submission in the VERY FIRST Round via triangle Kakashi Hataki!!!
