Martin O’Neill here bringing you a preview of M M A $100,000 Challenge, coming to you from Venice Beach, Los Angeles. This event promises to be huge; our main event tonight pits “The Mad Sushi Chef” Shiroi Neko against the undefeated champion, Tha “Brian Baumgardner Fan” Man for the right to call themselves Middleweight Champion of the World. The Co Main event features Helsinki Fight Club Heavyweight Champion Hannibal Barca make his debut in American MMA against Piotr “Colossus” Rasputin in a fight which will draw attention from all corners of the globe. A huge card tonight, also –

135: Leo “Shark Bite” Snow (3-1-0) v “The Tretowmaniac” Denis Tretow (4-4-0)

Twenty Two year old American Leo Snow will make his debut tonight in M M A. Holding a current streak of 2 wins this BJJ Blue Belt will look to make a name for himself now he has finally arrived in the big time. This represents his biggest test as of yet however in the form of “The Tretowmaniac” who himself is currently on a 2 win streak. Whose form will hold up here? Keys to victory for debutant Snow are the exploiting of his superior wrestling against Tretow. He’ll look to bring this one to the ground as the German Tretow will be vastly superior and much more dangerous in the stand up portion. Both in previous fights have made grinding out decision victories their fortes so don’t be surprised if this one too goes the distance.

135: “Lolth” Spider Queen (6-2-0) v Buff Bagwell (6-5-0)

Twenty Three year old Filipino Buff Bagwell with good striking and a Brown Belt in BJJ would normally be considered the favourite for most fights in this division. But when his opponent tonight steps into the cage Bagwell will know he’s in a fight. Burmese BJJ Black Belt “Lolth”, despite being just Nineteen is vastly experienced and Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship Champion will be a vast favourite and rightly so. This man is very dangerous, and take into consideration his pride is bound to be hurt after his loss via submission last time out, he’ll be really motivated to put on a good show I believe. It is destined this fight should end up on the ground. Who’ll be the better man when these two meet? We’ll soon find out, great matchup and one I’m very interested in to see as who will prevail.

135: Rmarkus “The Warrior” Fletcher (4-2-0) v Zach “The Maniac” Wolff (5-1-0)

“The Warrior” Fletcher is primarily a ground expert, having respectable wrestling and a BJJ Brown Belt to his name and further reinforced by all his four wins coming by way of submission his game plan will be quite obvious, get “The Maniac” down where he will be seemingly less dangerous to Fletcher. Wolff the American boxer is on a two fight win streak and won’t just let Fletcher walk over him. He possesses good hands and has the trouble to get to his opponents chin as he is very intelligent about his striking. Rmarkus Fletcher should also beware, Zach Wolff started his professional career with an Arm bar submission victory so it is no formality that if, or when it goes to the ground that will be the end of the night for Wolff.

265+: El Taquito “En Los” Pantalones (7-4-0) v “Sir” William Wallace (7-2-0)

Mexican Pantalones is an extremely well rounded Mixed Martial Artist, coming off a loss last time out to Brock Lesnar he will be hoping to get back into title contention here with a win over the Scotsman William Wallace. With Remarkable Boxing and Respectable Muay Thai this striker has all the tools to give any opponent a headache, literally. He strikes with great power and accuracy and will be considered favourite here I would suggest. William Wallace too has the dubious honour of having a defeat to his name by Brock Lesnar but he also has quite a few tools of his own. This wrestler and BJJ Purple Belt is as troublesome on his feet as the ground, his record showing the majority of his wins via strikes. These two powerhouses will collide in an attempt to force their way into the Super-Heavyweight title mix, a big victory here would certainly do neither any harm.

170: “The Wonderkid” Zacharia Steele (5-2-0) v Joe “Microbe” Garelli (5-0-0)

Undefeated BJJ Brown Belt Garelli now has five submission victories in his career and is certainly taking a step up in class here as he faces “The Wonderkid” Steele in the Welterweight Division. The American Steele with a Boxing and Muay Thai striking base will be full of confidence having disposed of his last two opponents in typically brutal fashion. If “Microbe” doesn’t clinch up and get him down as quick as he can it will only be a matter of time before he is picked off by Steele as he simply hasn’t shown anything that suggests he could trade with “The Wonderkid”. Watch out for his knees especially, they are ferocious and provided the victory in his last bout over David Tidwell.

170: Pekko “Brownie” Persvako (6-1-0) v “The Fin Hunter” Jay Mitchell (8-6-0)

The remarkable wrestling base of Persvako will surely provide the platform for “Brownie’s” path to victory. His style is a simple ground and submit, he prefers this to strikes whilst on the floor. Although he tasted defeat last time out he is a major force in this division having gone six undefeated before now. “The Fin Hunter” certainly has one of the more colourful nicknames in Mixed Martial Arts but don’t let that delude you. Eight Submission wins, good boxing combined with Knock out Power means he is the real deal. Expect two fighters to come to the cage here and put on a war for us. This card being stacked with Welterweight bouts should only provide the fighters with a real motive to go out and put on a show. M M A has a talent saturated Welterweight Division but outshining the rest of the competition on the same card en route to victory would elevate either of these fighters into serious contention.

170: Marshall “No one is above the” Law (9-6-0) v Jebidah Knepp (5-0-0)

Chinese National Martial Law is on a bad run of form at the moment, not only has he lost his last two fights, his last four losses have shown the rest of the world a fatal flaw, he cannot take a strike. His last four losses have been to strikes so look for him to negate this statistic with his Remarkable Wrestling which will be a huge factor in this fight if he can take advantage of Knepp’s inadequacy in this area. Jebidah Knepp although no match for Law in the grappling stakes, don’t expect him to have any fear of this situation. He holds five, round one, submission victories and leaves Martial Law in the awkward position of being maybe afraid to use his strength for fear of him being caught then in Knepp’s trap. If the fight stays standing Martial Law has the talent to take the fight, but he and everyone watching will be wary of what has happened during the course of his last four defeats.

170: Mikio “Flame 666” Okita (8-4-0) v “Lucky” Mickey McCarthy (6-1-0)

The former pound for pound best fighter in the world Mikio Okita is attempting to regain some of his old form here again Irishman Mickey McCarthy. Both men hold BJJ Purple Belt grades so expect this fact to perhaps cause an alteration in their otherwise normal fight tactics. Okita is on a two lose streak at the moment and in his way will be his polar opposite. McCarthy is on a three win streak and will not be lacking any confidence despite the greater name of his opponent. McCarthy will hold the advantage whilst this fight is standing, however “Flame 666” is much too astute a fighter to play a game that doesn’t suite him, look for him to take this to the ground and utilise those devastating submissions. “Lucky” McCarthy’s only loss was to a submission, Okita will know this and the Japanese Born naturalised American will surely test if his grappling defence has been given a tune up since then.

265: Piotr “Colossus” Rasputin (8-1-0) v Hannibal Barca (7-2-1)

M M A’s co main event of the evening brings us a huge matchup; Helsinki Fight Club Heavyweight Champion of the World, Hannibal Barca makes his American Debut in a fight anticipated all over the world. “Colossus” Rasputin, a superb boxer and strong wrestler with a Blue Belt in BJJ is a true Mixed Martial Artist. He was on an incredible eight fight win streak until last time out when he lost to a submission. Rasputin will be looking to put that right with the huge potential scalp of the best heavyweight Scandinavia has to offer. Barca a strong boxer and wrestler uses a brawl and sprawl style with has culminated in seven Knock out wins to his record, he won the HFC 265 Title after just 18 seconds via punches which truly marks this man’s danger and utter violence. Not to be outdone “Colossus” got his nickname due to his Big Right Hand, if he lands that we could have a huge upset on our hands here. These two fighters have won all their respective battles due to TKO or KO. Our Co Main event promises someone to get knocked out. Whose chin will betray them? We will find out here as these strikers face off in a bout everyone will want to see. This is the definition of a fight for the fans and I cannot wait for this to get underway.

185: Middleweight Title Bout, “The Mad Sushi Chef” Shiroi Neko (6-1-0) v Tha “Brain Baumgardner Fan” Man (7-0-0)

Twenty-Three year old Japanese BJJ Purple Belt Grappler Shiroi Neko challenges Tha Man here for his Middleweight Championship in 5 rounds of huge M M A action. Neko although he has quite cumbersome boxing, he also has heavy hands. His average technique does not take away from the absolute physicality of his hits. He will be the biggest challenge yet to the undefeated champion. It’s Neko’s intelligence and methodical decimation of his opponents which has been as impressive as he has beaten five of his six opponents to date in the first round. So we know he’s explosive, as too will New Zealand National Tha Man. This all round thoroughbred uses his wrestling base to pressure his opponents into making uncharacteristic mistakes. Spectators are divided here he can outsmart and outmuscle Neko like he has done so many others. But one thing is for sure, if Neko gives him one opportunity Tha Man will swarm. The majority of his wins have been violent KO’s. Head kicks, Knees are all in his arsenal as he possesses some of the very best Muay Thai in Mixed Martial Arts. I’ve no idea how this fight will go, however what I do know is this, get down to Venice Beach this New Year’s Day. It’s going to be explosive! M M A with another huge event featuring the premiere fighters in the California Area.
