Yes indeed it is fantastic to see a historically acclaimed organization hopefully on the rise again, but the most important thing is that this organization is under safe hands, and i'm sure chuck will do a great job here as the owner of the organization, so good luck with everything guys, and i hope to have a fighter of mine in this org very soon.

CFC 436 Review

And the new city bi-law, which goes into effect tonight at midnight, will require super heroes to register with City Hall. Wow, just when you thought crime fighting could not get any more complicated.

Speaking of fighting, our very own Johnny Knuckles is in Los Angeles with a look at last night’s big Canadian Fighting Championship card. Johnny?

Thanks Rick. CFC has officially changed hands and is back with a vengeance. 88,937 turned up last night at LA Memorial to watch the grand re-opening and, for the first time ever, a CFC event was broadcast on PPV. The fighters didn’t disappoint, let’s get to the action.

Main Event

265 lbs Manuel Neuer vs Ted Bundy

Two heavyweights looking for a shot at the title headlined CFC 436. Both were busy early with Bundy on the wrong side of a headshot that cut him before the first minute was up. Luckily, for him, it was the first and only head punch landed in the entire fight and his corner was able to focus and get it taken care of before it could cause a problem. First round to Neuer after some exhausting ground work. The second round began like the first, with Neuer looking to land shots to slow Bundy down. Bundy showed some solid footwork to stay safe and was rewarded with a nice takedown. That was about all he could manage, despite some great work to get into mount. Neuer was in trouble, but his transition work was phenomenal, helping him win the second round by the closest of margins. Which, if you’re keeping track, meant Ted Bundy needed to do something special in the third round to pull out a win. Unfortunately, it was not to be as Neuer landed a surprise takedown into half guard early, forcing Bundy to alternatively fight for a better position while trying to isolate Neuer’s limbs. Final result: Manuel Neuer wins by Unanimous Decision.

Co-Main Event 155 lb Title

Humors Lacplesis vs Akaro Horiguchi

Horiguchi won the 155 belt a week ago and had to turn around and defend it against the Mug Crusher. A tough ask for anyone and it seemed to take Horiguchi some time to get his bearings as Lacplesis came out swinging, dominating the first round with some great striking defense. The stand-up dominance continued in the second round, Lacplesis dancing and avoiding the majority of Horiguchi’s strikes. A clearly frustrated Horiguchi picked up the pace later in the round … until he got kicked in the penis. All the men in the audience collectively grabbed themselves and cringed. If you’re keeping score, that’s two rounds for the challenger, none for the champ. A quick shot of Voodoo’s Witch Doctor and another check on his swollen junk, Horiguchi came out on the third a new man, connecting with more strikes and mixing things up with some attempted takedowns. Lacplesis defended well until late in the fourth when he was put on his back. There wasn’t enough time left in the round for anyone to take advantage. Entering the final round, it looked like it was all square at 2 rounds apiece and they saved the best for last. Non-stop action by both champion and challenger with very little to separate winner from loser. All three judges felt Humors Lacplesis did enough to win the round and become the new lightweight champion. Result: Humors Lacplesis wins by Majority Decision.

Undercard

145 lbs Leonardo Da Silva vs Diogo Jimenez

Unfinished business in this 145 pound fight. Both came from Grunge FC where they fought five times, Da Silva winning three. Jimenez came out much more aggressive, throwing triple the amount of punches and winning the first round easily. No real damage was done and they continued the second round with some great back-and-forth. Near the two minute mark, Jimenez blocked a kick and countered into a takedown. It looked like he was hoping for a small rest break, but instead Da Silva pounced and locked in the guillotine. You don’t need a black belt to use it, but it helps. Result: Da Silva wins by Submission

155 lbs Friedrich August Von Hayek vs Louis C K

Von Hayek’s weird pre-fight ritual, tweaking his own nipples, nearly cost him this match against Louis C K. He was aggressive early, swinging wildly and landing some solid combinations. He caught C K in a clinch and promptly got tagged with a huge right hand. Von Hayek held on, literally, and somehow ended up winning the round. Despite the momentary success, Louis C K could not muster any further offense, losing the final two rounds. Final score: FAVH 3, LCK 0. Result: Friedrich August Von Hayek by Unanimous Decision.

185 lbs Patty O Reilly vs Marian Balkon

Patty O’Reilly is a weird looking lady, but she fights like a pro. Balkon was overmatched from the first bell, getting banged up early and generating no offense through the first two rounds. He survived though and sometimes that’s all you need in MMA Tycoon. Balkon started the third trying to hit some body shots, but got countered and rocked with a huge right hand. He managed to stay on his feet for a bit before O’Reilly took him to the mat, mixing sub attempts with some vicious ground and pound, scoring a TKO at 3:41 of the third round. Result: Patty O Reilly wins by TKO (Strikes)

265 lbs Julius Campbell vs Francisco Babyara

On paper, Julius Campbell looked vastly overmatched. Babyara has 51 fights under his belt compared to Kamala’s, I mean Campbell’s, 5. Campbell put on a clinic, working all three zones in succession, landing mean looking ground strikes until the referee jumped in to put a stop to it. Result: Julius Campbell by KO (strikes)

185 lbs Holden Gracie vs Edwin Lucan

Two fights in a week wasn’t enough to slow Holden Gracie down. Edwin Lucan was busy and aggressive early, he just couldn’t find the defense and Gracie made him pay with a straight left hand, bringing the fight to an end with nine seconds left in the first round. Result: Holden Gracie wins by TKO (strikes)

170 lbs Avraam Papadopoulos vs Ken Vrjalya

Big differences in age, experience and styles. Papadopoulos looked to keep things upright, Vrjalya wanted to take it to the mat. In the end, Papadopoulos scored all the points standing and did enough on the ground to win easily. Result: Avraam Papadopoulos by Unanimous Decision

145 lbs Ares Galva vs Nick Holey

Nick “Mick” Holey has a horrible record, but he’s a wily veteran who put Ares Galva to the test. The majority of the fight was on the mat, boring the hell out of the spectators who used this one as a bathroom break. Result: Ares Galva by Unanimous Decision

205 lbs Yoshito Okamoto vs Theodore Rothschild

Two relatively inexperienced fighters started off the card, battling hard for all three rounds. They split the first two rounds and shared the final round, despite the complaints from Rothschild’s corner. It could have gone either way, but didn’t. Result: Majority Draw

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the official return to Professional Fight Promoting for MMA Tycoons oldest Fight Organization Canadian Fighting Championships.   CFC 507 is coming to you live from The Underground in Montreal following a number of Amateur test events to see who the stars of tomorrow within the 390k ID range could be.   Saturday we are expecting upwards of 1000 rabid Canadian Fight fans to stagger their way through the doors to take in what will be the first of many action packed shows to come.  Many fighters on this event will be making their first Professional venture into the cage in an effort to establish themselves as the stars of the 390k ID range, we hope you are as excited as we are for this!  As always make sure you run down to PWNAGE™ located on the Los Angeles stop of the High Street for all your Fighters clothing needs and to fulfill their supplement needs there is no better place than White Gorilla located right here in Montreal! For those who enjoy putting their money where their mouths are, pop on over to 2 Headed Betting to place your wagers on your favorite CFC fighters while you still can, I know I will!!

Main Event - 205 lbs Robert Munson vs Nicandro Aloisio

Our Main Event showcases a complete garbage matchup that is obviously a filler for the event and I refuse to spend any time breaking down this fight.  It will clearly be nothing but a hugfest that zero fight fans will pay a moment of care towards so lets move on shall we.

Co-Main Event - 170 lbs Junior Seto vs Tyler Foster

In our Co Main Event of the evening we see a WW fight between a BJJ specialist and a wrassler.  Seto comes into this one just slightly shorter however appears to have the much better cardio based on his cut weight being well under that of Foster.  Foster has the slightly better striking credentials yet seems to need to cut back on his partying and get some rest in before the start of the fight.  Seto is undefeated at 2-0 mainly relying on clinch takedowns however when looking closer he has been taken down just as many times from this same position.  Foster meanwhile goes right for in at range where he looks to take his opponent to the ground early and then work them over with a mix of ground and pound and sub attempts.  This one is a close call however my money is on Seto improving his record to 3-0 based merely on the lack of planning from Fosters camp to ensure he is at peak energy levels heading into the fight.

145 lbs Kagiso Lekobe vs Mario Yamasaki

Next up we will be taking in a Featherweight showdown between what appears to be another party animal in Lokobe and a failed MMA ref turned MMA fighter when his previous career clearly let him down.  Lekobe brings a 2-0 record with him into the cage where he has shown great abilities while rolling around on the mat with both his wrasslin and his BJJ while Yamasaki comes in with a chin made of solid granite combined with solid boxing skills as was shown by his KO victory in his debut fight, albeit against a fluffy gardener who was 7 years his junior.  Lekobe showed good skills while on the feet and advanced knowledge on when to go for a level change and drag the fight to the mat where he has enjoyed the most success.  No matter what based on his lack of energy Lekobe is heading for deep waters that he may not be able to swim out of.

185 lbs David Lett vs Malcolm Tucker

In our next matchup we make a stop in the 185 lbs division as David Lett takes on newcomer Malcolm Tucker.   This one stylistically pits a BJJ Brown Belt up against a Wonderful wrestler.    Lett made quick and somewhat boring work of his opponent in his debut fight however what was concerning being the tendency to cut easily.  Tucker though never having tested himself in a cage previously, on paper shows signs of being a formidable adversary on the ground however his white belt might be his undoing.  This is definitely too close to call so is a virtual coin flip so I am not in a position to predict a winner here, I will leave that to you all.

170 lbs Mike Phelps vs BJ Penncil

Our final matchup from the main card sees a pair of welterweight fighters looking to enjoy victory for the first time.  Phelps enjoys a slight reach advantage to go with the clear striking advantage here opposed to the mid tier wrestling/BJJ combo in Penncil.  BJ will enjoy a slight advantage in the morale department which could lead to the downfall for Phelps in successive bouts.   From a far it appears that Penncil has the cardio advantage which could lead to him lasting longer if the fights makes its way into the later rounds.  From my seat here overlooking this event I will pick this bout to enjoy one if not more Of the Night awards.   Heres to hoping for some serious fireworks as this is the only matchup on the main card that possesses this possibility.

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of our first real return event...

155 lbs        Walter White v Frank Rizzo
205 lbs        Harry Winston v Jacks Sole
205 lbs        Brad Foster  v Jacob Miller
265 lbs        Charlie Kenton v Regular Joe
205 lbs        Gregoire Aebersold v Marco Rocha

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome back for another action packed event for MMA Tycoons oldest Fight Organization Canadian Fighting Championships.   CFC 508 is coming to you live from The Underground in Montreal following up a successful return to Pro fighting with CFC 508.   Once again today we are expecting upwards of 1000 rabid Canadian Fight fans to stagger their way through the doors to take in tonight's action.  Tonights event has a good mix of rookie fighters making their pro debuts, some who have enjoyed both amateur and pro fights and others who are well on their way to seeking gold within CFC based on their previous results.

Main Event - 185 lbs Edmond Chabazian vs Adam Lenz

Our Main Event showcases a matchup between two of our top middleweights both boasting undefeated records thus far in their Tycoon careers.   Chabazian is a BJJ specialist who has tapped his first two opponents on the amateur tour and then took his last opponent to the judges scorecards by dominating the fight on the ground.  Standing across the cage from him is Lenz who also has shown a tendency to rely on his submission game as both of his amateur victories were achieved by submission.  Both of these fighters are very evenly matched up with Chabazian holding a very slight reach advantage and also carrying slightly more weight however that should be a negligible amount.  One area of concern however for Lenz may be with his morale as it is significantly lower than his opponent, his manager definitely needs to make a purchase at PWNAGE™ and get him out of those plain and morale draining whites.   This one is so hard to call as both fighters hold very similar TD success rates and poor TDD results, whoever gets that first TD is likely going to ride this one to victory.  My money is on Chabazian only due to the morale advantage, by way of second round submission.

Co-Main Event - 205 lbs Antonio Prilla vs Juan Armador

In our Co Main Event we see the first of two LHW fights that will surely set the stage for bragging rights for the top of the division and a future shot at the Gold.  Much like our Main Event we see two fighters who are both undefeated thus far and will be looking to keep it that way.  Prilla comes into this one boasting a 2-0 record with both wins coming via brutal KOs.  On the other side of the cage we have Armador whose main skill is his Boxing however he did not show off much of that in his initial amateur fight that saw him climb back from brutal headkick knockdown early in the fight however his intelligence was on display seeing him change levels and drag the fight to the ground where he locked onto a slick kimura for the victory.  Prilla enjoys a 4 year advantage in age which also means a potential skill advantage as well however that morale, good lord he needs a laundromat something fierce here or like we mentioned previously a trip down to PWNAGE™ to get himself some new threads!  Armador is low in morale also but still enjoys the advantage in that department.  I think even with the morale disadvantage Prilla’s power and killer instinct will prevail here tonight and he will expose Armador’s suspect chin and continue his winning ways with another devastating KO that will be a leading candidate to take home the Knock Out of the night award!!

205 lbs Dan Ramkins vs Deppa Don

Next up we have our second consecutive Light Heavyweight showdown between what appears to be a pair of combatants who as of press time appear to be heading towards entering the cage at well below 100% energy.  Ramkins enjoys a distinct height and reach advantage when compared to the shorter Don.  Don will also be entering the cage tonight suffering from the morale disadvantage, does nobody know who to keep their threads clean and smelling fresh these days??  In his amateur debut Ramkins showed some vicious clinch work skills making very quick work of his opponent utilizing his combination of skilled knees and KO power.  On the other side of the cage Deppa Don comes in with Solid boxing skills and a Granite chin however that same chin was exposed by a brutal headkick, perhaps the heart is not there to match the chin for poor Don?   Given the fact that Ramkins also possesses nasty KO power I am worried about Don’s fate if the fight remains on the feet.  If he can get this one down to the ground he might be saved to fight another day!  Ramkins is just at the weight limit for this one which could derail his plans if his gas tank empties too quickly on him, but I doubt it will come into play tonight.  Based on previous results my moneys on Ramkin staying the course, taking Don out with his skilled clinch game and setting the stage for fireworks in the 205 lbs division in the very near future and a chance to lay claim to a shot at CFC gold!

265 lbs Anthony Prilla vs John Akamu

In our next matchup we make a stop to see the big boys throw down in the 265 lbs division,  this one sees another of the Prilla brothers step into the CFC cage along with a 2-0 record to take on newcomer and untested Akamu.  Prilla boasts a Granite Chin, an attribute he will definitely need when dancing with the killers that Heavyweight surely will have to offer to go along with the accuracy only legends can dream of, as he has yet to miss on a single standing strike attempt.  Akamu on paper has the advantage in Muay Thai but that's really all we know about this guy other than his lack of stylish threads as he seems to prefer plain and boring white clothing combos over more appealing and presentable fight kits.  On paper the assumption is Prilla will hold the speed advantage tonight but chances are the drop in morale may very well nullify that or any advantage he may possess which could be his undoing.  This one is so tight right down the middle and could go either way, virtually a coin flip to decide the victor however our money remains on Prilla and his Granite Chin to prevail in this showdown late in round 3 with a devastating headkick.

155 lbs Viktor Chaney vs Aleksandr Abakumov

Our final matchup on the main card sees a pair of lightweight fighters looking to enjoy victory for the first time inside a CFC cage after enjoying victories on the amateur scene.  Both fighters are very even on the physical side of the tale of the tape with a mere 2 cm’s and 1 lbs separating them however both will come into this one well below 80% energy, looks like their representatives failed to time the lead up to today very well which will certainly have a direct effect on the outcome today as they race to see who can maintain fuel in the tank the longest without a quick dump leading to embarrassment.   Chaney is a year older in age but not in experience as Aleksandr enjoyed an undefeated run to victory in the QFC tourney his management team set him up in, clearly they knew what strings to pull to guide him to four consecutive victories, will they be able to once again today knowing he will square off with less gas in the tank at fight time.  Chaney on the other hand has been a bit of a handful during fight week as he is clearly unstable and a total wild card, even his management team is boasting how crazy they know he will be tonight when the cage door closes, lets just hope we dont need any straight jackets to keep him under control after the winners hand is raised.  Another total coin flip here however given the experience advantage our money is on seeing Abakumov extending his win streak to 5 and laying claim to the top end of the Lightweight division.

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event...
205 lbs   Gregoire Aebersold v Thomas Mahi Ai
205 lbs   Al Fry v Carson Ledger
170 lbs    Dim Mak v Jean Duranto
155 lbs    Peter Counter v Joe Kamaka
185 lbs    Kyran Neal v Sean Foster

Ladies and Gentlemen, here we are again for the first of 2 action packed events within Canadian Fighting Championships.   CFC 509 is coming to you live from The Underground in Montreal.     We are expecting upwards of 1000 rabid Canadian Fight fans to take in tonight's action.  Tonights event has a good mix of fighters making their pro debuts, some who have enjoyed both amateur and pro fights and a small handful of clowns atop the Main Card who are clearly nothing short of ringers trying to ensure Management does not continue to lose their shirts during the early rise of CFC.   As always make sure you run down to PWNAGE™ located on the Los Angeles stop of the High Street for all your Fighters clothing needs and to fulfill their supplement needs there is no better place than White Gorilla located right here in Montreal! For those who enjoy putting their money where their mouths are, pop on over to 2 Headed Betting to place your wagers on your favorite CFC fighters as all are set for this event while you still can, I know I will!!

Main Event - 205 lbs Eric Draven vs Josh Whitlock

Our Main Event showcases the first of 2 clear hugfests between a pair of guys who only do as their boss man says and have little to no ability to speak up for themselves.  Will they follow orders and dance the tango or will one of them step outside their orders and go for the kill?  Please, we all know the answer and I for one have no interest in discussing this matchup any further.   My money is on the dude with the best pirouette.

Co-Main Event - 145 lbs Cathal O’Doherty vs Kuroda Atsushi

Our Co Main Event is another snoozefest between a pair of midgets who prefer to roll around on the ground with other men above anything else, and like our Main Event I could care less and have no plans to waste my time discussing this one.  Who is this damn matchmaker he is horrible and needs to give his head a shake.  Just for the hell of it I am picking the guy with the clown hair in this one.

170 lbs Junior Seto vs Jesper Janssens

FINALLY a real fight to discuss…in the welterweight division we have a pair of undefeated warriors with a mix of amateur and one professional fight under their belts.  Seto has won all three of his bouts by way of submission victories including  a first round Triangle choke win in the first round of his CFC debut.  Facing off against him is Janssens who has enjoyed both a UD and submission win in his amateur career and now he is stepping into the fire against a scary submission specialist.  Seto has enjoyed 100% success within the clinch in taking his opponents to the ground and into the deep waters where he focuses on getting himself into a dominant position and then showcasing his BJJ prowess.   Looking at the other side of the cage Janssens has enjoyed great success both at range and within the clinch at getting the fight to the ground where he has simply dominated with an almost perfect success rate with his brutal ground and pound.  Even with that success he has not enjoyed a finish with his ground strikes but I am sure thats only a matter of time.  Based on what we have seen previously I would estimate Seto’s Granite chin will outlast Janssens intelligence and it’ll be tap or snap time.

145 lbs Mario Yamasaki vs Makana Berzebal

In our next matchup we make a stop to see the midgets in the 145 lbs division,  this one sees our failed MMA ref turned MMA fighter make another stop with the CFC cage following his devastating KO at CFC 507 taking on Pro newcomer Berzebal who rolled to victory in his amateur debut dominating his opponent on the ground.  Yamasaki comes in with a chin made of solid granite combined with solid boxing skills as was shown by his pair of KO victories most recently in his CFC debut fight where he has proven to be slick, efficient and powerful ending both fights after throwing an average of 5 strikes per appearance.  Berzebal on the other hand  boasts a game plan that includes not much other then clinch takedowns and no other standing strike attempts, however his clinch TDs proved to be more than effective as once he got the fight to the ground, that was all she wrote where he inserted his dominance with ground strikes, advances and then a slick armbar submission in under 2 minutes.   Both these fighters need some work on managing their workloads as they are both well under the ideal minimum energy level to ensure training gains can be enjoyed and that the gas tank is full enough to last 3 rounds in a Pro matchup.  My money is on Yamasaki having no need for the Granite chin in this one and I also am willing to bet his power will shine through once again even if Berzebal is sporting a solid chin as the lack of energy will be his undoing for sure!

170 lbs Mike Phelps vs BJ Penncil

Our final matchup from the main card sees a pair of welterweight fighters looking to face off against each other once again following their debut fight opposite each other at CFC 507.  Is it just me or is this another example of how much of a tool this matchmaker is, man he must have been drunk when he set this one up again, surprised they dont both have the same manager… yes that has happened.  Phelps enjoys a slight reach advantage to go with the clear striking advantage here opposed to the mid tier wrestling/BJJ combo in Penncil.  BJ will enjoy a bigger advantage in the morale department then their first throwdown, my assumption is Phelps is still wallowing over his defeats and needs some new threads to cheer himself up.   Pencil worked his gameplan to perfection 2 weeks ago when he was able to work the takedown to get the fight where he has the clear advantage and worked a combination of ground strikes to soften Phelps up before sinking in the armbar submission inside of the first round.  Phelps is going to need to focus more on striking in this one to try and avoid a similar fate and forget trying to take this one into the clinch or the ground.  Both fighters are well rested so my moneys on a repeat performance for Penncil unless Phelps is able to work out a new and more effective game plan to avoid being dominated once again on the ground.

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

205 lbs    Brad Foster v Dennis Moody  Add to my spoiler fight list.
145 lbs    Kagiso Lekobe v Johnny Kenard  Add to my spoiler fight list.
265 lbs    Akamaru Jackson v Lark Bizzy  Add to my spoiler fight list.
145 lbs    Andy Slappin v George Hale  Add to my spoiler fight list.
170 lbs    Roy Kalama v Frankie Rodrigue

Ladies and Gentlemen, coming to you live simultaneously with another action packed event within Canadian Fighting Championships.   This time CFC 510 is coming to you live from The Underground in New York.     We are expecting upwards of 1000 rabid New Yorkers to witness another showcase of new young talent.  Tonight's event as is always the case lately has a good mix of fighters making their pro debuts, some who have enjoyed both amateur and pro fights and a pair of dweebs that think this is dancing with the stars atop the Main Card.   I cant say enough how pitiful this is and even more surprised the NY State Athletic Commission allows it.

Main Event - 205 lbs Nicandro Aloisio vs Robert Munson

I simply do not get paid enough to write about this nonsense, our Main Event pits a bloody welterweight against a light heavyweight, once again I ask, is this a clown show or Professional MMA?  Someone needs to open an investigation as I can’t believe people are going to pay to watch this drivel.

Co-Main Event - 155 lbs Viktor Chaney vs Joe Kamaka

Our Co Main Event sees a pair of Lightweight fighters stepping into the cage following debut victories only one mere week ago at CFC 508.  Chaney showcased his intelligence with his ability to smell blood and sink in the submission for victory, his second such win within the first round of both his career fights meanwhile Kamaka preferred to exploit a weakness within the clinch game with his opponent grinding down his opponent before dropping his dance partner at range with some viscous blows.  Chaney seems fairly predictable in his game plan, focusing his striking game on kicks where he has shown only a 50% success rate however the takedown side of his game has been more effective and allowed him to take the fight where he excels.   When looking at Kamaka he is very similar whereas he likes to fight in the clinch, and based on his first fight Chaney will want no part of that game as Kamaka landed 100% of his 14 strike attacks within the clinch.  So far Joe has yet to face a serious takedown fighter like Chaney and in a similar vain Chaney has not faced someone truly skilled at the striking game.  This is a classic grappler vs striker matchup that will be sure to set fireworks off and should be tonight's Main Event, who do you have?  Its far too close to call from this seat as it could go either way for sure.  My money is on another Of the Night award in this one but can't pick just yet for which guy, guess maybe its a coin toss kind of decision.

265 lbs Anthony Prilla vs Ben Rotunno

Time to step up to the bigger boys in the Heavyweight division as we see Prilla make his second trip to the CFC cage looking to redeem himself following his first round TKO loss one week ago at CFC 508.   Opposing him tonight is a Beast of a man Ben Rotunno even though said beast has yet to taste victory, apparently the only thing he has tasted recently is the coke he has shoved up his nose as if he is Jon Jones because he looks as though he has not slept in 2 weeks.  Man this is going to be a total smash job I think as Rotunno will be lucky to hit the 30% mark on energy even if he naps the day away!  Prilla steps in boasting a solid Muay Thai game to go with a granite chin but my thoughts are on that heart as he was simply crushed in last weeks matchup against potential future HW King John Akuma.  Prilla was of fer on his offensive attempts in that one and absorbed an unholy amount of damage taking in a total of 45 strikes, most of which came from within the clinch. In his amateur debut Rotunno boasted decent wrestling abilities but made a huge mistake in taking his fight into the clinch where, much like Prilla he was decimated by 24 strikes which ultimately saw his “Big Heart” and tell his chin No Mas… and down he went inside of the first round.   My money here is easily on Prilla as “Beast” will barely have enough gas in the tank to climb the steps into the cage let alone try and win a fight, look for Prilla to end this one early and get back to his winning ways by way of early referee stoppage!

185 lbs Uncle Ben vs Sean Foster

In our next matchup we make a stop in the 185 lbs division,  this one was a last minute addition to the card as the previous fighters in this slot failed to agree on terms of the fight and one manager decided to instead go MIA and not accept.  We will circle back on that one on a later date, so let's look at these two.  Uncle Ben won his amateur debut by showcasing a real mix of offensive moves, he was less than successful with any of his strike attempts however made up for that clearly with his clinch and takedown attempts.  Ben showed an ability to take the fight wherever it was he wanted it to take place, finally securing the ground strike victory inside of the first round.  Facing off against him is “Blueberry” Foster…. Ummm… Blueberry??  What in the sam hill is that noise???  Following a pair of unsuccessful amateur ventures Foster was able to grind out a UD victory last week at CFC 508 as he took his opponent the distance, during the TOTT introductions we were given a glimpse into the future as Foster opponents boldly announced how damn good he was in bed, and then proceeded to roll around on the ground for the majority of the 15 minute matchup with Foster, holding on and hugging when and where he could… Foster was not overly successful with his attempts on the ground, perhaps because he preferred to cuddle there but won out in the end as he dictated where the fight took place.  A pair of gifted Muay Thai fighters face off here and my money’s on the one with the better chin, that being Foster however lets hope he doesn't go for another bore fest on the ground, we want to see fireworks, lets go boys time to throw down and go after that KO of the night award!!

265 lbs Robert Douran vs Bingo Bongo

In our final Main Card matchup we circle back once again to the Heavies as Douran will be looking to springboard off the UD victory he enjoyed in his amateur debut while facing off against newcomer Bongo… is it just me or is this guy's manager a clown for giving him that horrible name?  On paper Douran easily holds the advantage with his determined attitude and Wonder wrasslin skills but don't sleep on Bongo as I am sure he has many tricks hidden up the sleeves of that clown suit he wears down to the cage!  Douran is clearly a one dimensional fighter here, but let me tell you dayum that one dimension was showcased in his first fight.  A 100% success rate with his takedown attempts which was followed up with 123 pitter patter ground strikes, if only this guy possessed some actual power to put something behind those strikes we may have been discussing a more exciting victory instead it appear he simply took advantage of a tired opponent and slapped him around a little more focussed on embarrassing him when he should have been trying to put out his lights!  Bongo appears to possess a more balanced skill set so let's hope that includes some take down and ground defenses or we may be watching another boring hugfest on the ground unless of course Douran has figured out where the light switch is and he actually puts some effort behind those strikes.  My money is on that happening as he will surely be a “Money Maker” as he steals the win bonus from Bingo Bongo in this one tonight.

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

205 lbs    Gregoire Aebersold v Stephen Garver
145 lbs    Hafnar Rafnkelsson v Dubad Mataan
205 lbs    Jacks Sole v Harry Winston
170 lbs    Ren Zedong v Ramon Palacios

CFC 511 Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, coming to you live simultaneously with another action packed event within Canadian Fighting Championships.   This time CFC 511 is coming to you live from The Underground in Montreal.  We are expecting upwards of 1000 rabid Canadians (maybe some Americans too) to witness another showcase of new young talent.  Tonight's event showcases a handful of up and coming stars looking to separate themselves from the pack and potentially line up some title fights in the not too distant future.  As always make sure you run down to PWNAGE™ located on the Los Angeles stop of the High Street for all your Fighters clothing needs and to fulfill their supplement needs there is no better place than White Gorilla located right here in Montreal! For those who enjoy putting their money where their mouths are, pop on over to 2 Headed Betting to place your wagers on your favorite CFC fighters as all are set for this event while you still can, many already have, many more will join them and for sure I know I will!!

Main Event - 185 lbs Matteo Chibaclov vs Malcom Tucker

Our Main Event of CFC 511 sees a pair of undefeated Middleweights face off in what is most likely a prelude to the winner getting a shot at the gold early in the New Year as we see Chibaclov bring his 5-0 record from his very successful amateur career make his debut appearance in the Main Event no less for CFC as he takes on Malcom Tucker who survived nearly 5 minutes on the mat in his debut at CFC 507 and decided that was enough rolling around for his liking so he wasted no time at the start of round 2 to finish his opponent off with a barrage of strikes ending the fight 0:33 seconds into the round.  Chibaclov boasts a scary ground game landing 75% of his takedown attempts and follows them up with a mix of ground tactics that so far have ended in the exact same fashion each time out, with his opponent tapping for mercy to his BJJ prowess.  Tucker on the other hand is a Wonderful wrassler who preferred to utilize his respectable boxing skills in his only career fight and will be hoping to be the first to successfully test Chibaclov’s chin in this one otherwise I have a feeling things will not go well for him.  He will clearly be leaning on his stand up skills to win the fight and his ground skills to not lose the fight.  Both of these warriors seem to have depleted their gas tanks beyond the ideal levels in the lead up to this Main event showdown so my money will be on the fighter who best manages those energy tanks as we get closer to fight time.

Co-Main Event - 205 lbs Antonio Prilla vs Thomas Mah Ai

Our Co Main Event sees a pair of Light Heavyweight fighters stepping into the cage following debut victories at CFC 508.  This fight was just switched up at the last minute due to the inactivity of another fighter and Mah Ai graciously stepped in to take on the challenge of meeting up with undefeated MT specialist Prilla.  Thus far in his career Prilla has been a pure killer only seeing a fight last beyond the bell of round 1 on one occasion, and in that one it ended a mere 0:28 seconds into the second frame by way of a brutal axe kick to the head shutting the lights out on his opponent.  Standing opposite Prilla is “The Butcher” who comes into this one with a single fight on his resume and he surely did not disappoint in that one as he utilized his superior…ok Wonderful Muay Thai skills to manhandle his opponent in the clinch landing a devastating 26 punches while softening him up only to the separate and land unanswered monster strikes until the referee was forced to step in and end the brutality.  Prilla will come into this one with the weaker chin but possibly with greater power, so the question will remain which will win out, the power in Prillas strikes or the solidness of Mah Ai’s chin.  Whoever is the answer to that question and survives this battle will likely see themselves standing alone atop the CFC LHW division awaiting their next victim.

185I lbs Edmond Chabazian vs Eduardo Bolsonaro

Up next we have a classic grappler vs striker matchup as Chabazian brings his 4 fight win streak into this throwdown and takes newcomer Bolsonaro.  Chabazian enjoyed an undefeated amateur run where his superior BJJ skills  easily won him his first 2 career fights however since even though he remains undefeated he has not enjoyed a finish in his last 2 including a split decision victory in his CFC debut.  That one saw the commentary team give all three rounds to Chabazian, however one of the judges was a clear douch(et) and scored the fight for his opponent.  Bolsonaro on the other hand is a striker who prefers output over quality of output given his astonishing 82 strike attacks in his amateur debut matchup which lead to a late third round TKO victory.   Chabazian always comes to the cage determined to take the fight where he enjoys his success however I dont have the heart to tell him that should Bolsonaro touch up his chin with his Big Right Hand I am not sold that his chin will be able to stand up to it.  Thus far in his career Chabazian has yet to face someone with this kind of power and skill set so he better have hope in that big heart of his that the fight does not remain on the feet for long.  As for Bolsonaro the opposite holds true as he has yet to have to defend a takedown attempt and this might be the night we find out what kind of ground game he does, or does not possess.  My money is on Bolsonaro coming through here in this one if only because a Chabazian victory would muddy the waters at the top of the CFC Middleweight division.

170 lbs Lincoln Wright vs William Maxey

In our next matchup we make a stop in the 170 lbs division, the final of three consecutive Welterweight fights as Wrassler Wright makes his CFC debut stepping in against Muay Thai fighter Maxey who is also making his debut with the Canadian Fight Promotion.  These two are almost physically identical with Wright holding just a slight 1 lbs weight advantage to go with his brawling style of attack.  Maxey on the other hand prefers to rely on his confidence to go with his balanced attack shown in his 3 amateur tilts where he enjoyed successes at range, within the clinch and with taking the fight to the ground when he felt the need.   Wright was able to absorb a number of head strikes when he did not impose his will and take the fight to the ground which might bode well for him in this one given Maxey’s varied gameplan.  Even though he did pull off a successful submission victory, Wright did do a lot of flailing around on the ground with missed ground strikes and a couple of failed submission attempts.  Maxey also showed a tendency to take the fight to the ground where he also enjoyed very little success which tells me he will likely adjust his plans and focus on avoiding the ground in an effort to avoid a romp around that would likely only lead to a UD loss.  Hopefully his confidence is not halted given his current morale status, I think it's time for him to grab some new threads from sponsor PWNAGE™ in LA, sorry for the shameful plug there folks… anyways Wright needs to get his energy levels in check while Maxey needs to stay on track there and boost that morale if either guy has aspirations of victory.  this one was a last minute addition to the card as the previous fighters in this slot failed to agree

170 lbs Tony Pacucci vs Tyler Foster

In our final Main Card matchup we continue with the Welterweights as morale deprived BJJ fighter Pacucci steps in against energy depraved & morally inadequate wrassler Foster.  Both these guys need to get themselves out of their boring white Tee’s and into something that's more trend worthy from PWNAGE™.   Pacucci brings his basic striking and good chin in as he attempts to answer the bell following his Unanimous Decision defeat in the Amateur tourney he entered, where his game plan seemed somewhat odd given 93% of his offensive attempts were to go to the clinch, unfortunately those attempts failed 98.6% of the time and the 1 success he did enjoy, though followed up by some ground dominance it was not enough as he lost 2 of the 3 rounds.  Foster will not need his solid chin on this night but he will need to bring the perfectly laid out gameplan as he did in his amateur debut where he took the fight to the ground, got into a dominant position, dropped some bombs to soften his opponent up and then sunk in the guillotine submission.  In his last trip he was not as successful as he took the fight right to where his opponent wanted to be and after a few minutes of trying his best to avoid the inevitable he gave way to a triangle choke ending his night.  Foster is pumped for redemption on this night however his morale is likely to hold him back, but given Pacucci is in much more dire straits with his morale I am calling a quick end to the night by way of submission for Foster as he gets back to the winning ways he has expected thus far in his career..

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

170 lbs    See How Fook v Rayk Vlk
265 lbs    Pier Donia v Regular Joe
265 lbs    Jed Hall v Charlie Kenton
205 lbs    Xi Wad v Jacob Miller
205 lbs    Enrich Aldrich v Marco Roch

CFC Christmas Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, coming to you live where the Canadian Fighting Championship steps up with the big boys with another action packed event.    CFC Christmas is a high end event coming to you live from the Ninety Three thousand plus LA Memorial Colossuseum in sunny Los Angeles.  Its quite funny that a Fight Promotion from the Great White North is holding an Xmas Eve event where there are far more Palm Trees than Christmas Trees!!  Tonight we are expecting upwards of 93,607 rabid fight fans to witness another showcase of new young talent capped off by some grizzled veterans.  Tonight's event showcases a handful of up and coming stars, some young wunderkinds looking to start their Professional careers on the right foot and a main card of fighters looking to springboard from one off appearances into big money contracts elsewhere.

Main Event - 145 lbs Brett Shoenfeld vs Aiko San

Our Main Event of CFC Christmas pits a pair midgets in the tree topper as veteran grappler Shoenfeld makes a quick stop here in CFC to take on less experienced but higher ranked San.  Both fighters come into this one having won four of their last 5 fights and sees submission machine Shoenfeld brings with him a solid chin and based on his results, he will need that when facing off with San who has stopped 12 of his 20 opponents by way of TKO.  Shoenfeld does not boast a great deal of offense while on his feet, focussing mainly on his takedowns where he lands roughly 2 out of every 6 attempts.  With San being taken down almost 50 percent of the time his opponents attempt one, Shoenfeld will be hoping to get it onto the mat ASAP!  If he fails in that he is looking at an offense from San that will focus on the boxing side of the equation where San is successful just better than 50% of the time.   Shoenfeld tends to focus most of his attention on advancing into a dominant position on the ground to allow him to overwhelm his opponents with submission attempts, however his 9 percent success rate is nothing to write home about.  Shoenfeld comes into this one the smaller man in both height and weight however that lower center of gravity might work in his favor, or it could lead to San having an easier time picking away at him with his knock out power.  There is only one way to find out for sure, tune in on Christmas Eve to watch the action and see how this one plays out!  The bookies have Aiko as the favorite in this one however I am going to put my money on Shoenfeld to pull off the upset

Co-Main Event - 205 lbs Joseph Stalinovich vs Joe Dinapoli

Our Co Main Event sees a pair of Light Heavyweight fighters stepping into the cage with a combined 72 fights in their careers.  Stalinovich is looking to rebound from his TKO loss at the end of November facing off against Dinapoli who enjoyed a UD victory less than 2 weeks ago.   Stalonovich brings a world class MT & Boxing skillset with him which is a clear indication of his power given his 22 career (T)KO’s.  On the other side Dinapoli brings a very similar gameplan to the cage which has seen him enjoy 18 of his own (T)KO victories.   Stalinovich prefers to focus his striking attack with head punches where he has enjoyed 50% success in those strike attempts, relying very little on kicks however he has been known to mix a few in just to change things up.  Dinapoli throws a very similar attack at his opponents however he has a tendency to mix in a lot more kicks than Stalinovich.  Dinapoli has not enjoyed quite as much success as far as landing his strike attempts, however he still holds dynomite in his hands.   These two are so evenly matched it wont be easy to pick a possible winner, Stalinovich has shown to have the weaker chin of the two and that may possibly play a factor here, if I were him I would use the BJJ advantage he holds and try and sneak in his second submission victory of his career.  Only one way to find out folks, tune in as this has FOTN written all over it!

185 lbs Sergey Shipilov vs Juanito Escobar

Up next we have what could be another classic matchup between Elite striker Shipilov and BJJ Black Belt Escobar.  Shipilov comes into this having won his previous 2 matches while Escobar is trying to put the brakes on a 2 fight losing streak.   Shipilov is clearly the larger man here holding a 5cm height advantage and tipping the scale at nearly 9 pounds more than his opponent, will that give Escobar a slight speed advantage, it just might.   Once again the matchmaker here is a bit dim and did not realize these two combatants had already faced off previously in what was in fact a fairly quick tussle seeing Escobar slip in a Kimura submission before the midpoint of the first round.  Shipilov will clearly be looking to avenge that fate and try and touch up Escobars chin in this one, something he was not as successful in accomplishing before.  Escobar was able to land a quick takedown before the 1 minute mark and the two rolled around for a bit trading submission attempts until Shipilov was unable to escape and was forced to tap out.  With Escobar landing 35% of his takedown attempts and Shipilov only preventing 61% against this one is more than likely going to end up on the ground once again, the question being can Shipilov defend enough to get it back to standing and throw more of his bombs or will we see it end quickly once again.  My money is on a new fate taking place and Shipilov shocking Escobar and the fanbase with a KOTN victory early in round 2.

205 lbs Tobig Tofail vs Fidel Legions

In our next matchup we make a stop in the Light Heavyweight division, but oddly enough this looks like a LHW taking on a MW, that matchmaker is a total clown who hired this guy???  Tofail is the much larger man in this one holding a 16.8 pound advantage.  Will that be to his advantage or to his opponents?   When reviewing his career thus far it looks as though someone close to him got in his ear and explained that living life as an obese MMA fighter was perhaps a less than healthy choice as he has dropped nearly 100 lbs since his debut.  However with that in mind he had only suffered 3 defeats in just less than 20 fights and since he began his weightloss journey he has lost almost as many as he has won, maybe he needs to reconsider and get back on the junkfood diet again.   On the other side of the cage Legions comes in having won 2 of his last 3 while under new management and took home SOTN in both those victories and the assumption is he will be looking to continue that streak tonight.   Legions brings with him a very good mix of skills and success as he is more than happy to go wherever the fight may take place, whether that's standing where he enjoys nearly 50% success with both head punches and leg kicks or in the clinch where he really can dial it up with head and body punches to soften his opponent up or lastly on the ground where he will mix in advances and ground strikes before finally tapping you out.  Tofail has not enjoyed quite as much success on the ground or in the clinch however he does enjoy a very good takedown defense game where he has stuffed 83% of all attempts so my money is on him keeping this one standing and picking away at Legions until the lights go out.  Having won 22 of his 23 victories by way of (T)KO you can’t go wrong there right?   The Betting community has Tofail as the big favorite here and even though his manager is a big talker and enjoys throwing out fight stats and gloating about his career win/loss record against this guy (Beech lost that damn fight it wasnt a draw you paid off those judges!!!)   I am going to put that behind me for one day as I think Tofail takes this one in devastating fashion

205 lbs Silent Bob vs Ispa Murhaa

In our final Main Card matchup we continue with the Light Heavyweights as silent talker Bob comes in to face off against Murhaa.  Both fighters are coming off defeats in their last matches, most notably Bob’s shocking KO defeat back in August that sent him into a spiral of depression and denial.  Coming into that fight he had never been touched up before in 30 career fights and on that night he had his trench coat knocked the fuck right off.   Meanwhile Murhaa is also coming off a brutal knockout loss back at the end of October against Sergey Shipilov who seemed able to send Murhaa to the mat at will in their matchup.  Murhaa like many of the other main card combatants has some dynomite in his hands having ended the night for his opponents on 20 occasions throughout his career however recently his chin has let him down in three of his last 4 throwdowns.  I don't think he will need to worry about that in this as the Silent one has always preferred to lean towards the pitter patter style of punching, almost like he is afraid to land a strike, with it being almost a full year and a half since his last TKO victory.  Yes folks he is a boring point fighter however a very successful one at that.  He however has been  back on guard at the local NJ Quick Stop, loading up on powdered sugar which is the key ingredient that has seen him jump in weight from 185 to 199, I feel its a front that he has been telling people it was for the fight, I myself think he has just let himself go!  Wait who am I kidding, he doesn't speak, he hasn't told anyone a thing!  Anyways these two have enjoyed a combined 32 decision victories over their careers and I am putting my money on this going that route, with Bob being the favorite of the bookies failing to pull it out and ending back outside the Quick Stop as early as tomorrow morning with his mouthy sidekick Jay.

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

265 lbs John Akamu  v Robert Douran
265 lbs Anthony Prilla  v Akamaru Jackson
155 lbs Green Bastard  v Harry C Distacio
205 lbs Frank Stein Jr  v Davide Farina
145 lbs Mark Norman v Zack Allan Jr

CFC 513 Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, following a quick stop over under the bright lights of Los Angeles CFC returns to Montreal for a quick follow up show live from the Expo!!  After bringing in a large number of ringers to fill the seats in LA we return to regularly scheduled action here with our 390K ID fighters.  Tonight we are expecting upwards of 6,000 rabid Canadian fight fans to witness another showcase of all the talent and future that 390K has to offer on CFC 513.  We continue to see many fighters begin to lay claims to their spots in title contention and tonight's action will be no different.

Main Event - 145 lbs Daniel Belyaev vs Mario Yamasaki

Our Main Event of CFC 513 pits a pair midgets in the top spot with both fighters combining for a total of 8 victories against zero defeats thus far in their careers.  This will no doubt be a barn burner as both of these guys prefer to rely the power in their fists even though they go about the end game in different fashions.   Belyaev is a Wonderful wrestler who to date following 5 amateur matchups has yet to throw a single standing strike attempt of any kind but backs that up with an amazing 80% success rate on his takedowns.  Yamasaki, the resident failed MMA referee is making his third trip to a CFC cage tonight where he has won successive KOTN awards, most recently with a devastating KO by way of a Superman punch!!  Thus far in his career Yamasaki has been able to stuff 75% of all takedown attempts against him and tonight he will need that skill more than ever!  One day in advance it appears though he has yet to taste defeat, Belyaev can almost taste the smell of his fight kit as his morale is under 70%, a factor that will definitely play a pivotal role in the outcome tonight.  On the other side Yamasaki’s morale is flying higher than ever but that wont help him with his gas tank that is currently at the 65% mark, he for sure will not want to go into a brawl with a grappler the likes of Belyaev already sucking wind or it will be over and out real quick for him.  Who will win out, the better confidence or the full gas tank, tune it tomorrow night to find out!!

Co-Main Event - 170 lbs Junior Seto vs Roy Kalama

Our Co Main Event sees a pair of Welterweights step into the cage coming off victories 2 weeks ago at CFC 509.  Seto is a submission specialist with a Granite chin who has won all 4 career fights by way of first round submissions.  Kalama comes in having only 1 career fight in which he turned off the lights of a Granite Chin which may not bode well tonight for Seto.  In all four of his fights, Seto much like Balyaev before him in the main event has never thrown a standing strike attempt but has enjoyed a 50% success rate on his takedowns at range and 100% from within the clinch, once on the ground he mixes in an equal amount of advances to go with submission attempts, to date he has not attempted any ground strikes.  Kalama on the other hand is a Muay Thai fighter who in his only career fight landed well over 80% of his clinch strike attempts, throwing a whopping 66 strikes.  His Big Right Hand proved to be lethal after roughing up his opponent and turned the lights out early in round 2.  This one will be fireworks for sure as Seto will be focussed on dragging the fight to the ground where he holds the distinct advantage while Kalama will be looking to ragdoll Seto within the clinch en route to knocking Seto into next week.  This one will be worth the price of admission for sure and we will see you there!

155 lbs Joe Kamaka vs Don Schneider

Coming at us next we have a Lightweight Muay Thai battle that sees 2-0 Kamaka facing 4-0 Schneider.  Kamaka would be considered a CFC veteran as he has won both of his fights within the Fight Company, both by way of TKO Strikes inside of the first round with both following a similar gameplan, get to the clinch and wear down the opponent until the ref steps in to end the fight.   Schneider has followed a similar script in his 4 fight streak earning him a QFC Tourney victory.  Schneider has higher output within the clinch but does not enjoy nearly as much success as Kamaka which could lead to his undoing in this one as we are very confident both guys will be keen on getting it there, the only question will be who is able to end it once it gets there!!   Kamaka holds the slight height/reach advantage however Schneider looks to have him by just a hair in the cardio department, could that be the key here?   I personally am wondering if the Granite chin possessed by Schneider will be the difference maker and carry him to victory.  Only one way to find out folks, gotta be one of the 6000 paying customers tomorrow to see how this plays out.

265 lbs Ben Rotunno vs Henry Miller

In our next matchup we make a stop in the Heavyweight division, where we see a pair of literal giants facing off against one another.  Rotunno is the slightly smaller man based on weight alone which could be a definite speed advantage against the much heavier man.  However when you look at these two based on their records, we aren't sure Rotunno is in the right place given his inability to pull off a victory in either of his career fights where in both he succumbed to what can only be called a suspect chin at best.  Miller on the other hand is a submission guy ending both of his amateur fights prior to the 2 minute mark by way of taps, will that success continue now that he is stepping into the pro ranks, time will tell.  Both of these guys appear somewhat reluctant to change out of their messy and smelly fight kits which could be the key to their downfall tonight.  If he knows what's good for him, Rotunno will take advantage of Millers lack of power and virtually non existent striking game to protect his chin because we know if he is able to get the fight to the ground, Miller will have the advantage and it may be another quick over and out for Rotunno.  So far in his career Rotunno has been totally skunked so my money’s on him finding a way out of that funk and into the win column.  Miller and his Granite chin doesn't appear to be worried in the least and is laser focused on his first Pro win inside the CFC cage!

145 lbs George Hale vs Johnny Kenard

In our final Main Card matchup we head back to the Featherweight division as Hale comes in looking to follow up his dominant debut fight with another clinch raping performance.  Where have I seen this before….oh thats right Manager Bob Slay must have cashed in his frequent flyer miles as this is his third fighter on the main card of this event all that have a very similar build and skill set which means nothing but trouble for their opponents.   Kenard on the other side brings more of a ground skill background in tonight looking to follow up his pro debut victory at CFC 509.   Much like his training partners we have discussed previously, Hale brings a high octane high success rate within the clinch where he grinds down his opponent before shutting off the lights, in his pro debut even a Granite Chin was no match for his power which does not bode well at all for Kenard.  For Hale, he will be focused clearly on avoiding the takedown which will be coming at him fast and furious as Kenard averages just under 13 attempts per fight and if successful, he possesses a balanced attack of advancing position, ground strikes and sub attempts.  Thus far he has yet to succeed with a submission attempt so maybe he should shift focus away from there to where he enjoys success.  I don't think this one will last very long myself as Hales power will simply be too much for Kenard to handle and Hale will once again enjoy victory in the most devastating fashion!

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

155 lbs Viktor Chaney v Paul Eclaro
145 lbs Makana Berzebal v Kagiso Lekobe
170 lbs Jesper Janssens v BJ Penncil
155 lbs Kittisak Khemkhaeng v Chabuk Al Zubairi
145 lbs Andy Slappin v Soshito Nakagata Jr

CFC New Years Eve Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, CFC is making their way back to sunny California for a double dip of fights as we open up the LA Memorial Colossuseum once again.  Tonight once again the stars of tomorrow give way to some of the games top performers and a couple of those damn filler fights that I feel are so bloody detrimental to the game, I mean why take the spot of someone who could really make a name for themselves on the grand stage, who cares if it was last minute!!  Last weekend was a total success even if the company lost their shirt, this weekend is expected to be no different as upwards of 93,000 rabid Canadian fight fans have migrated to Hollywood  to witness another showcase of top end talent and those looking to be the future that 390K has to offer on CFC New Years Eve.

Main Event - 145 lbs Aiko San vs Antonio Tarver

Our Main Event of CFC New Years Eve sees a pair midgets in the top spot with both fighters combining for a total of 33 victories against only 5 defeats thus far in their careers.  This is your classic striker versus grappler matchup as San brings his Exceptional Muay Thai skill set in to face off against BJJ Black belt practitioner Tarver.  San appeared on our CFC Christmas card and had an astounding comeback after being controlled for the first 10 minutes on the ground, it seemed as if he was on his way to a disappointing UD defeat however his instincts kicked in in round number three and then his hands took over and before the one minute mark he had ended the night in monster fashion.   Tarver on the other hand is on a brief loan from Highland and has been on quite the roll since being taken over by new management having won his last 7 consecutive fights, 6 of which with his current puppet master including Highland gold which he has defended on numerous occasions.    Tarver is a highlight reel all to himself having taken home Of the Night awards 7 times in his career and tonight he will no doubt be looking to add to that total.  San is predominantly a Muay Thai fighter however he is not afraid to stand and bang as his 5 career standing knockouts show, and much like Tarver he is another Of the Night hound having collected his own 5 over his career.  His only downfall may be with his ability to keep the fight standing as he has failed to stop takedown attempts almost 50% of the time at range however if the last fight was any indication that only serves to fire him up.  Tarver does not possess amazing takedowns himself having only succeeded 11 percent of the time during his career standing but his 31 percent success rating within the clinch could be the undoing of San tonight as we are sure that's exactly where he wants to take this one.  This one has Fight of the Night written all over it and I for one cant wait to see it play out!

Co-Main Event - 185 lbs Manny Johnson vs Darwin Zambrano

Our Co Main Event is a clash of Middleweights who seem very evenly matched with both looking to continue with their winning ways.  Johnson is enjoying a three fight win streak as he makes his one time stop in CFC to take on Sucker Punch veteran Zambrano who is on his own four fight win streak.   Both fighters feature Elite level Standup and Wrasslin abilities with the only advantage in this one going to Zambrano who holds a BJJ Black belt ahead of Johnson’s BJJ Brown belt.  Johnson seems to possess a lack of power in his hands given his 22 decision victories over only 4 TKO’s with one surprise submission win mixed in whereas Zambrano seems more interested in going for it having only enjoyed one victory by way of judges decision.  Johnson is the older fighter and also the larger man as he holds an advantage in both height and weight over Zambrano but will that actually be to his advantage? Both fighters look to be heading into this one at just under the max 100% energy which could be the advantage Johnson needs to win the energy battle en route to a 23rd UD career victory.   I am giving the slight edge here in this one to PJ as he is as crafty as they come, plus he is my alliance mate so if I said otherwise he would kick my ass!!  Good luck to both participants, just more luck to Johnson!

205 lbs Silent Bob vs Robert Munson

Coming at us next we have a Light Heavyweight filler that eats at my very core everytime I see that low life drunk Louie book a joke of a fight like this, total waste of time only because he is a total failure and could not negotiate a real fight to fill this slot.

170 lbs Raphael Costeau vs Porthos Knox

Next we make a stop in the Welterweight division where we see a pair of equally skilled warriors however these combatants are on opposite ends of the rankings.   Costeau is an Elite level boxer with equally Elite level wrestling who seems to have had one too many drinks on the day he signed off on this matchup as it's what we call in the fight game all risk with no reward!  Facing off against him is Knox who is a retired sparring dummy having only competed a grand total of 3 times this calendar year representing the next wave from the Chikara MMA Gym in Amsterdam.  In his last trip to the cage he took advantage of some 18 year old newb who couldn't land a punch to save his life, good thing the promoter was kind and set it up as only a 3 minute fight, but what's glaring here is that Knox was able to land 12 solid shots to the dome of his opponent yet could not end him.  Costeau on the other hand will not lie down quite so easily for him as he will look to match up equally with Knox in his boxing and see his high output attack find success in reminding Knox why it is he had retired from active fighting so many moons ago.   Knox has absolutely nothing to lose tonight and because of that we expect him to come out all guns blazing however the skills that Costeau possesses might be just a little too much to handle.  I don't see a finish here in this one, its going to the judges score cards and who has their hand raised will certainly be decided early in this one, once the edge is taken I don't see it being given up.

170 lbs Fook Man vs Anakoni Kai

AGAIN!  What the hell is this clown doing, such a travesty to the game he should be shot!!  I will not waste another second on this damn write up. He has lost me such a selfish prick!

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

205 lbs    Dan Ramkins v Steel Striker
205 lbs    Gregoire Aebersold v Brad Foster
185 lbs    Sean Foster v Mean Gean
135 lbs    Jesse-James Hopson v Hamzah Barnaby
265+ lbs Mike Magik v Carlo Pedersoli

CFC 515 Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, CFC follows up their big New Years Eve event with a stop at Los Angeles King Theatre where we know close to 5320 screaming fight fans will make their way into the venue to watch the true stars of CFC.  Yes, no more drunken matchmaking for ole Louie Boy, the stress of trying to make an event work in the big city is now behind him.   Believe it or not, but the extra workload of trying to attract top end talent to our 2 big holiday shows burnt Louie out a bit but he is back in the saddle once again, and for the most part totally sober, I am sure that's just coffee he is sipping on constantly right?  The focus is now squarely back on the 390K landscape and CFC is here to grow your warriors into filthy rich warriors one event at a time!

Main Event - 185 lbs Matteo Chibaclov vs Michael McPherson

Our Main Event of CFC 515 sees amateur legend in his own mind Chibaclov take on newcomer McPherson in what should be a classic striker versus grappler but I am not so sure that's going to be the case.  Chibaclov has an astounding 6-0 record all of which have been won by way of submission stoppages and this one likely will not go any differently.  With his very healthy takedown success rate of 57 percent Matteo has constantly been able to dictate where the fight takes place and once again tonight we have a very good feeling of where that might be.  Standing opposite him is Michael McPherson who although has a deadly Big Right Hand he did show signs of being more than capable of surviving on the ground with a grappler, however this is not just any grappler he is facing.   If McPherson is able to tweak his tactics just slightly and go after more high percentage strike attempts rather than focusing on those he mostly was unsuccessful we might see a huge upset in the making.  Michael was 100% successful in fending off all 15 takedown attempts, however he failed just as many times himself when he should have focused on his striking advantage.   Matteo on the other hand will welcome a takedown attempt against and may even just lie down as that's where he works his magic, improving position more than 70% of the time to go with a 60% success rate on ground strikes, softening up his opponents before slapping on the submission ending he has enjoyed thus far in all his fights.  Chibaclov has only seen the 2nd round twice in his career and I don't believe tonight will be a third with another stunning tap out being the expected outcome!

Co-Main Event - 170 lbs Edmond Chabazian vs William Maxey

Our Co Main Event is a clash of Welterweights clearly on the rise and looking to claim their shot at the gold in a soon to be booked event.  Chabazian has moved down from the Middleweight division where he was dominant to say the least, going 5-0 including a pair of wins under the CFC umbrella however with training partner Matteo Chibaclov also laying claim to the top end of the 185 lbs division Chabazian made the decision to move down a weight class in order to chase double gold for the Clark Hint managed duo.   On the other side of the cage stands William Maxey who is less of a finisher and more of a tactician in the cage as he prefers to utilize his very spread out offensive game plan to his advantage as shown in his CFC debut where he coasted to an impressive unanimous decision victory after displaying near perfect results in strike and clinch attempts, controlling the action from start to finish.  Chabazian does not rely on his striking skills at all, focusing on his takedowns where he is just under 50% successful but that's all he needs, as once he gets you down to the ground he works aggressively to wear his opponent down and then sink in the submission for the finish.  Maxey on the other hand comes in with the mindset that anything you can do, I can do better given his array of offensive attacks and his astounding success rate with those attacks, if he were to tweak his gameplan just slightly his chances of winning would be greatly improved.  Chabazian is the favorite in this fight but Maxey will not give up, this could be Fight of the Night for sure.

205 lbs Thomas Mahi Ai vs John Knox

Coming at us next we have a Light Heavyweight clash of strikers as the Muay Thai driven Mahi Ai looks to improve to 3-0 when he takes on Boxing specialist Knox in this showdown.  Mahi Ai is a brutal finisher and enjoys rag dolling his opponents within the clinch where he has not failed with a strike attempt to date, averaging over 20 strikes attempted and landed per fight.  Knox on the other hand has enjoyed almost as much success within the clinch however even more success at range with his world class boxing skills where he showed his cardio throwing out well over 60 strike attempts which wore down his opponent and allowed him to have his hand raised in victory.   If he has his sights set on a repeat performance tonight Knox will need to stay away from the clinch at all costs and pick away at his opponent from range because if Mahi Ai is able to take the fight into the clinch it will clearly be game over given his vast advantage in skills in the Muay Thai department.   The winner of this one will have solid footing on top of the division and be the clear favorite to take home the gold in his following venture to the cage within CFC.   filler that eats at my very core everytime I see that low life drunk Louie book a joke of a fight like this, total waste of time only because he is a total failure and could not negotiate a real fight to fill this slot.

205 lbs Antonio Prilla vs Al Fry

We continue within the Light Heavyweight division as we see Prilla looking to rebound from his stunning loss at CFC 511 when taking on Boxing specialist Al Fry and his Granite chin.  Prilla is a successful Muay Thai fighter however in his last stop he was exposed within the clinch and had no answers for what his opponent had to throw at him, tonight I don't envision that being a concern as I have a feeling these two will stand toe to toe in the center of the octagon and just throw bombs until one warrior can no longer stand.  Fry is another high octane fighter having made close to 60 strike attempts in his sole trip to the cage where he was successful in just under 90 percent.  Prilla on the other hand does not blast out at his opponents with the same exuberant attack, and prefers to rely on his precision and power in making quick work of his opponents, hopefully his last fight does not have a negative effect upon him and he is able to find that ninja like skill base.   One concern I would have if I were the Prilla camp is the granite chin of Fry might have other ideas on how this one will play out.    His blitzkrieg like attack coupled with a chin of pure stone is not what Prilla wants to face but if his power he displayed in his early fights is any indication, I don't know if he will be all that concerned and instead will still go in for the quick and early kill.

185 lbs Maskar Flugamine vs Uncle Ben

Our final stop on the main card is in the Middleweight division as Flugamine comes in looking to manhandle his opponent Ben.  Flugamine is a Wonderful wrassler with a nasty ground and pound game as he pummeled his way to victory scoring a whopping 51 ground strikes in his amateur debut before joining CFC.  On the other side of the cage is Uncle Ben, and not I don't mean the instant rice guy either who comes into this one looking to follow up on his Unanimous Decision victory back at CFC 510 where he swayed the judges more with his activity and varied attack attempts and less on his actual success rating in those attempts.  Ben is a Wonderful Muay Thai fighter but appears to be lacking in the morale department slightly and also will be coming into this one giving up a sizable energy advantage to Flugamine when he steps in with only 75% in the tank.  Those two combined will no doubt allow Flugamine to give Ben fits in this one and show why he is the betting favorite.  Even though he has enjoyed success thus far in his career we have a suspicion that his luck has run out and Ben will be finished faster than a cup of his name sakes famous rice!

Well folks that's all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on the undercard of today's event…

185 lbs Vadym Yashchenko v Adam Lenz
185 lbs Hugh Jaqueman v David Lett
170 lbs Mafuso Lamoto v Frankie Rodriguez fight list.
265 lbs Lark Bizzy v Bingo Bongo
205 lbs Enrich Aldrich v Carson Ledger

CFC 516 Event Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, CFC is back following a successful 2 week span of hosting Christmas and New Years events under the bright lights of LA’s 93K arena.  Stars of today and yesterday took the stage during those shows but we are all done with that and now return to focus on the stars of tomorrow here with CFC!  This week's first show takes place in Montreal’s Hard Knocks where 3000 of the most hyped and excited fight fans will surely be in attendance.  As always make sure you run down to PWNAGE™ located on the Los Angeles stop of the High Street for all your Fighters clothing needs to ensure their morale is recovered quickly and maintained, don't let your fake little guys wallow in dirty or pretend magical threads as that only brings them down and stunts their ability to learn in the gym and perform in the cage!  Also a key point is to fulfill their supplement needs to slow down their energy loss during those grueling training sessions, or to boost their cardio and strength workouts there is no better place than White Gorilla located right here on Montreal's stop on the High Street!! Lastly, one more shameful plug for another of drunk Louie’s many businesses, for those who enjoy putting their money where their mouths are, pop on over to 2 Headed Betting by clicking the link within today’s CFC 516 event page to place your wagers on your favorite CFC fighters as all are set for this event while you still can, many already have, many more will join them and for sure I know I will!!

Main Event - 145 lbs Saggy Dinglestomper vs Gemechu McKraken

Well would you look at that, drunk Louie is at it again, we have promised the show boating and relying on the coat tails of non 390K ID fighters was over and yet here in our Main Event of CFC 516 we are showcasing a pair of Non 390K ID fighters.  Why you ask, well in his infinite wisdom Louie went and signed a fighter for his NYE event who was injured, and after begging and pleading for this guy to just take one for the team and take a dive it was finally agreed this fight would just get pushed back a week.  At Least this is a real matchup though and not a clown show that DePalma likes to utilize.  Anyways back to business we go… This one looks like a real juicy matchup indeed as Dinglestomper enters the cage looking to right the ship following a pair of hard fought Decision losses including what some might say was a robbery by the judges in his last appearance.  McCracken on the other hand saw his hand raised in victory last time out as he took down Sega’s #1 video game persona Crash Bandicoot via a Kimura Submission.  Neither of these fighters possess great power in their hands or feet having a combined total of 4 wins by way of TKO throughout their careers however McKracken is one dangerous mofo on the ground for sure, amassing 18 submission victories as he continues to follow in the footstep of fellow Kelly McGrady ground assassin Smokudju Womba, a true legend in Tycoon lore.   Dinglestomper on the other hand is more of a point fighter and someone who prefers to please the judges sitting at ringside based on 88% of all victories coming in the decision variety.  Dinglestomper relies on a very spread out plan of attack as he utilizes all forms of combat when on the feet aside from takedowns and is successful nearly 50% in most attempts however the concerning statistic when looking at his opponent is the high degree of times he is taken down to the mat, paired with the low amount of activity when ending up there most likely will not bode well if that's where this one ends up.  McCraken however relies mostly on his takedowns and merely mixes in a small amount of punches just to keep his opponent off center, and distract just enough to power through with a takedown and given his higher success rate when compared to the ability of Dinglestomper to prevent one, I think this could be a tough night at the office for poor Saggy.  Once on the ground McCracken is a pure monster as he works the ground strikes and advances to get his opponents into weak positions and then it's tap tap time!!  Saggy is by far my more favorite name but I have a feeling it's only a premonition of what's to come tonight as I can foresee one of his limbs being a little “saggy” after McCracken snaps it with one of his vicious submission moves.

Co-Main Event - 155 lbs Anatoly Zvezda vs Ivan Kowalski

Our Co Main Event is a clash of Lightweights fighters that until a short time before the event window closed we didn't think was going to move forward as favorite Anatoly had yet to accept the fight offer.  This finally took place at the 11th hour and secured himself a spot in the Co Main Event rather than a ticket straight to Robidais Island for ignoring the fight offer.  Rumors have it there may be other fighters from his training camp that failed to accept however at press time we don't have all the details.  Back to the fight at hand as Zvezda comes in on a clear roll winning all 5 of his amateur fights in clearly dominating fashion and all before the midpoint of the first round which is why Anatoly was a coveted prospect to join the CFC roster.  Standing on the opposite side of the cage is Ivan Kowalski who is also undefeated in 2 fights on the amateur circuit however in much different fashion as both went the distance as he relied mainly on his clinch game grinding down his opponents and winning the eye of the judges.   Zvezda is a pure wrassler and that's all he knows, having never once thrown any form of offensive strike while on feet or within the clinch in any of his 5 fights, and that 83% success rate when attempting takedowns has not worked out well at all for his past opponents.  Once on the ground he simply grinds his opponents into the mat with his ground strikes until they squeal uncle!!  Kowalski is up against it here for sure as he himself has a very high rate of success when attempting both takedowns and ground strikes however his 0% success rate at stopping the takedown could be his undoing.  This one could be a scenario of who gets the first attempt and top position even though Kowalski has survived on the ground himself in the past whereas Zvezda has never seen that position in any fights other than perhaps training camp so maybe tonight he will get exposed.  Another game plan that could be looked upon by Kowalski is to take this one into the clinch and just grind away on Anatoli while staying upright.  We will all know soon enough if the Russian train will steamroll another opponent or will it get derailed.

Well folks I am sorry for the shorter Preview this week but that's all the time we have, hopefully next week we can return to looking over the entire main card of both scheduled events.  Here is a quick listing of all other fights on the main and undercard of today's event…
