Oprichnik welcomes 50th fighter!

Oprichnik FC owner Fyodor Romanovich pulled a $50 from his pocket and used it to light a cigar as photographers gathered around outside the Oprichnik FC headquarters in St. Petersburg this morning.

"I am pleased to announce that we have quickly ascended to having 50 fighters who have given their trust to the Oprichnik FC in their young careers," Romanovich said. "This is not a trust that we take lightly. I am committed to taking each of those fighters as far as he wants to go."

Romanovich announced that, within the next 24 to 48 hours, 40 of those 50 fighters would be booked in the organizations first two events, Onslaught I and II.

"We are being aggressive, but it is a controlled aggression," Romanovich said. "We must retain a sense of slow, controlled growth to sustain our efforts. What will ultimately serve us best, I believe, is my open door policy to any fighter or any manager who comes forward with a suggestion. Oprichnik is an organization of the fighters and for the fighters, and as long as we stay true to that, we will be successful."

I'm a reading Ivan the Terrible right now and this was the first time your Org name jumped out at me. :)

I wanted the name to be somewhat historical, somewhat dark, somewhat menacing.

Invoking Ivan's badasses hit the nail on the head pretty well.

Thanks for taking a look.

I will definitely post wrap-ups.

Yesterday was my son's birthday, and we were gone all day.

Plus, I wanted to get Onslaught IV & V on the books. Like I have said all along, it's all about you guys and your fighters. I don't want the org $ sitting idly around. Now that we've de-emphasized recruitment for a while, two things will happen: More events will get scheduled, and my current fighters will get as much action as possible.

More to come, gents -- feel free to chat it up on the smack thread!

Onslaught II maintains excellent start for OPFC

Oprichnik FC's second-ever event once again hit every mark set for it: A sold-out event that entertained the crowd and set a record payout for Russian fighters.

750 MMA fans jammed into Wild Bob's Bar to watch the 10-match extravaganza.

"We moved on to a bigger arena for this event, but we still sold it out," said Fyodor Romanovich, OPFC's boss. "We've sold every possible seat for our first two events -- and now we have the top two fighter payouts in St Pete history."

Mere hours after OPFC accountants tallied the returns, Romanovich announced Onslaught III & IV later this month.

"The modest profit we made is going right back out the door. We're booking more events to keep our fans entertained and to keep our fighters fighting," Romanovich said. "Nobody will stop us. We are just getting started."

Moritz Gauchenaur (the best name in MMA Tycoon, btw) is going to fold up Sultanov like a slinky and make him beg for mercy. To hell with tapping out, he'll pass out before he ever even gets the chance.

Piotr Johanssen is going to drop bombs on Starks head until he is either knocked unconscious, or his head caves in, whichever comes first.

Maybe you guys should just forfeit the fight and save yourselves the embarrasment.

Nice, Dave!

Way to stir the pot, buddy.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm sure we'll see more of as we grow and start talking about belts. [both here and in the official "smack" thread.]

By the time the dust settles on Onslaught V, I'd love to get some chatter going about potential champs in various weight classes . . . .

Damn! Forgot where I was. No matter, I don't need an official smack thread to lay a beat down on these chumps.

Might as well go stir that pot, too, just in case they aren't paying attention. :boxing:

I have a fighter named Shawn McGregor fighting out of St. Petersburgh. He hasn't fought yet, but his attributes definitely give him the potential to be something special. Here's a link to his fighter profile....oh btw he walks around at 210 so he can most definitely fight at LHW.

Look forward to being in your organization.

Offer sent before reading this -- I believe I sent a HW contract. If that's cool, just accept it -- if not, reject it and I'll send you another.

Thanks for your interest!

The Vampire and Werewolf are based off of Folklore, I am going to be working on some shirts and shorts using old USSR Propaganda posters.
