I don't know how many forums you've been on, but on a majority of the ones I have there has been a rule against multiposting, and even where there isn't a rule it is frowned upon, and I'll admit it was my fault for assuming this place had the same ideals. The only other incident I recall involving a needless argument (although it might not be the only one - I know I don't remember everything) was the grammar one, and I didn't start that one, so I don't see why I should take the blame. One of my faults might be that I don't like to back out of arguments, but I'm not going to change that for you. And, if you don't like my posts, why don't you just ignore me? Guest Posted February 14, 2010 Report Share Posted February 14, 2010 I hope this doesn't somehow tarnish his reputation, he's a great guy, but he actually recruited me after he saw my post about wanting to open up a gym. I really don't see how being against multiposting makes me such a bad guy, and if you guys had problems with any of my other posts it's somewhat odd that you're just finally expressing it. Really, if I'm a detriment to the community then I'm all for people letting me know so I can try to reform, but I don't think that's the problem. And what is the big deal with taking something that happens on the internet seriously? An insult is an insult, whether it's face-to-face, on the phone, in a letter, a text, or on a forum. Really, people have committed suicide because of insults others have thrown at them over the internet. Overreacting? Yeah, but so is someone killing themselves if someone insults them face-to-face. The anonymity just gives jackasses even more of a reason to not care about what they say to other people, but it's still you who is saying it - it really is no different than sending a text to someone, other than the fact that more people see it. Maybe you don't see it that way, but I value the opinion of some random person who I know over the internet just as much as I do some random person who lives in my town, because there is no definite difference between the two other than distance from me - and though I'm sure you also think I'm very egotistical, I don't have a big enough ego to think that I have to personally know someone for their opinion to matter. And you keep saying that I'm immature for caring about post counts, but I'm not the one who's going out of my way to make multiple and random posts to get it up (and I'm not saying you are, I know you're just trying to prove a point to me). I'm trying to prevent that, not for my own gain, but because I don't think we should encourage that type of behavior, and by saying it doesn't matter or it's not a big deal (and it's not a big deal, but it does matter) then you are encouraging it. And how many times did I say, "don't multipost"? Two, maybe three times? I don't care that much, most of my posts have been concerning the insults and other shit that have happened as a result.
