  1. JJ, first, don't listen to that Gianka wanker. He's trying to drag you down to his level of being hated by everyone. Second, don't see shit like a negative. Most people in this thread praised your work with the newspaper. That alone should show you that you're not being called to step down or some bullshit. We all appreciate it. The feedback you're getting though is you should run the editions a bit less, like once a week. Not a slight against you what so ever,

  2. Now I don't really have an issue with orgs/managers using tycoon times to artificially boost org/fighter hype, however it seems increasingly apparent to me that right now the times is suffering from a severe lack of quality control... To use two recent examples (from the latest edition): http://www.mmatycoon.com/tycoontimes/tycoontimesstory.php?SID=4774 http://www.mmatycoon.com/tycoontimes/tycoontimesstory.php?SID=4773 What. The. Actual. Fuck? Have we seriously reached a point where a copy and pasted fight commentary is considered to be an 'article'? Likewise the second 'fighter profile' makes Mamado's writing look like fucking Shakespeare. I had a look at the Tycoon Times archive (http://www.mmatycoon.com/tycoontimes/tycoontimesarchive.php) and it seems pretty clear that there is a strong correlation between the decline in quality and the decline in number of page views. Articles (of a much higher quality I might add) written in early 2015 were pulling in 1000 page views with sometimes over a dozen articles left unpublished: since then something changed. I don't know whether it's a case of people simply aren't writing as much nowadays, or just that people don't bother to submit the articles any more. If it's the latter (and the fact that there are still a fair amount of orgs doing previews would seem to support that assumption) then is it possible that the current garbage getting published discourages people from submitting articles of actual quality? I don't know what the solution is but something has got to change: right now it's a free hype machine for any barely literate c*nt that comes along - like I say I don't have an issue with orgs/managers using it for the hype boost, but for fucks sake if we're seriously publishing a fight commentary as an 'article' might as well just scrap the whole thing.

  3. There is no point in constructive criticism or suggestions on improving something when it's impossible to have a conversation with someone without them getting defensive, passive aggressive or just plain aggressive. No point in trying.

  6. Those things in PMs, this is essentially what I'm referencing. That guy above is jumping to the "rescue", acting like Epicity's feedback is irrelevant. But really JJ, do you disagree with him? You are a smart enough guy. A bit of constructive criticism never hurt, and we both build our respective original orgs based on criticism and feedback. So if people are saying something (and no one is specifically saying you shouldnt do the job)...take it on board. It's just feedback to help make your job more effective. I keep talking about those other two wankers because me and you worked together, fought against each other and basically were side by side at all times throughout our org running. I don't give a fuck if HG is "technically" #7 because we all know HG isn't the 7th strongest org in the game. My main rival was always World Combat. So when I say shit like this, and when I say Gianka and Mamado are arseholes...don't blow that off as another "hater". Realize that they are making you hated and dragging you down with them. I'm not even going to capitalize on it, but they are currently insulting KingEpicity. You know, the guy who manages the Thundercnt who you want the Highland Island guy to fight? They cross him, he could easily turn around and tell IFC to go fuck itself and join Highland Island. This is despite the fact that you never even said a bad word to the guy...it was those arseholes who did. Cut the dead weight, you never needed help before and you dont now.

  8. Hmm let's see oh aye, both clydebank, kenlow + myself have all submitted articles - as usual you're talking out of your arse. But I suspect you're right about one thing: most people don't seem to care. Unfortunately I suspect there might be a correlation between that and the quality of the paper in recent times, whether JJ wants to fix that or not is up to him.

  10. It'd probably be better just to cut down to 1 newspaper every week. I agree with Wolf in that it's something no one reads, but at the same time people should probably have to earn their way in and not get the small hype boosts for posting bollocks.

Recent publication dates: May 01, 2016 Apr 30, 2016 Apr 29, 2016 Apr 28, 2016 Apr 26, 2016 Apr 25, 2016 Apr 24, 2016 Apr 21, 2016 Apr 20, 2016 ^ Now I think about it that might just be the source of the problem. The paper is getting published every other day, the net effect being there is no quality control because you're just looking to get it out there asap. Here's an idea: maybe cut it down to twice a week and start filtering out some of the crap that currently get published.

  19. You run a great org, you've made a silly post, defended it quite childishly, been a plonker for throwing your toys out of your Pram and keep doing it. As for Ragnar leaving , we chased Origi, and you were on your knees to shaven fat lawyer boy Mike Jursilla, giving him 35-40 days to prep for fights and ridiculous immediate rematches later on. Had Ragnar not been entombed in Powers after beating Origi then he would likely have returned. Check where my boys fight aside of Ragnar. Lol As for your 'won't get an offer' erm David , get your head out of your ass son ,Infinity, Legacy, EVO , Syn, Havoc, CEC, MFN are run by terrific lads that don't have maturity issues. Try not to make things worse. You should probably consider my comments those of your mentor. Hopefully this horse will drink as I have taken it to the water privately and publicly, for the final time.

  23. I actually find that pretty funny. Tbf back when I started in the org business I used to deliberately avoid signing fighters with dumb names, nowadays not so much - there's at least two Noob Saibot's out there, countless Gregor McConors (or some other variant) and looking through the Ascension roster we've got: a Viet Nam, Grey Worm, Underestimated Dillashaw Junior, Rock Machine, No For Gay Jesus, Raise Hell, Jon Snow, Mr Anywhere and a Karl Drogo (GoT names seem to be pretty popular lately) to name but a few - after a while you stop caring.

  27. It's Mike's decision. He owns this game, he owns the message board. This is his baby(except.. ya know, his real life baby... ) and he said no Humors many times. There is no way Mike is going to say, you know what let's give him another try so all these posts and threads about it are pointless. It doesn't matter what the moderators think, Mike doesn't want him in the game so he's not going to be in the game regardless of how anyone feels about it. I'm apathetic on the whole situation but I am tired of reading the pleas so there is the cold hard truth. I am sure the pleas will continue and I don't know Humors from Adam but unless Mike miraculously decides to let him back in the game this is all a waste of energy.

  29. (Via Junior Grand Master of KT 2 Official Thread) http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14046526106802.jpg James "Sully" McGuiness (237725) (Participant of The Island Season 2. Former MMA and KT Fighter. Owner of Sully's Bar & Grill on The Island) Hello everyone!! We are now at the Final phase of the Junior Grand Master of KT 2 and in just a few days two young warriors will be crowned as the future of KT!! Will they take KT to the next level or will they fall flat? Who will rise up to challenge them? Before I get into the matches, just a bit of a news flash. Lumpinee 14 saw the battle for Third Place of the Junior Grand Master of KT which leds to Lumpinee 15. Si Pitung bounced back to beat Pepe Apolo to win 3rd in the Middleweight division of the tournament, earning himself $75k in the process! Meanwhile in the Heavyweight division, Faiq Bolkiah fought Johan Geerestein who replaced Grigoriy Chirkash after he retired from active competition after losing in the semi finals. Faiq earned himself $75k with a head kick victory to claim 3rd place. Congrats to Faiq Bolkiah and Si Pitung for taking out Third Place in the leadup to Lumpinee 15 where we will crown the Finals! What a long road it has been! I can't wait to see where the future of KT takes us. Without further ado, I bring to you my thoughts on the Finals of this tournament with another edition of: http://i.imgur.com/yPwBr4L.png Lumpinee 15 PRELIMINARY FIGHTS Hipolito Hoplitai Haploi v Igor Pasternack The heavy-hitters start off the show as Junior Grand Master 2 contestant Pasternack faces Haploi. Pasternack has the advantage in boxing and has shown he has heavy hands while Haploi will look to wear down the boxer with his Muay Thai game. Rumours are circulating that Pasternack is not 100% focused on this fight and in the heavyweight division that can leave you on the floor. Sully's Prediction: Haploi to wear down Pasternack to earn the late TKO. PRELIMINARY FIGHTS Michael Henson v Mikami Kanno Both 20 year olds step after bouncing back with a win. On paper Henson has all the advantages, including experience. I think this will be a big factor with Henson as he uses his fitness to his advantage. Sully's Prediction: Barring some unfortunate incident, i see Henson blitzing Kanno early in the first. PRELIMINARY FIGHTS Michel Nostredame v Aksel Stenger Since losing in the second round of the tournament, Stenger has bounced back with 2 wins in a row. He faces Nostredame who puts his 2-0 record on the line. Nostradame is coming off a win against tournament fighter Napapa and looks to add another tournament vet to his resume. Sully's Prediction: While both are young in age, I think Stenger's experience will be a big factor in this. Stenger to earn a dominating decision. Junior Grand Master of KT - Heavyweight Final Donal Maciver v Mar Poker Both men have come into this Final having knocked out all 3 of their opponents and have all shown a clinch game. Poker has shown to use his dirty boxing to wear his opponents down before the finish while Maciver has shown more variety on his clinch game. Did I mention they both have a strong clinch game? Sully's Prediction: On paper i would have to say Maciver has the advantage, however Poker's opponents know he will use his punches in the clinch yet have been unable to stop it. I'm gonna go for the underdog and say that Poker will somehow pull it out of his ass and get the late TKO. Etan Seeman v Ray Force Both men are making their KT debut here as former Island fighter Ray Force has his first fight in 2 (tycoon) years! Force made his debut on The Island and continued his career winning the ICON Super Heavyweight Belt before retiring. He makes his comeback against Seeman who is also making his KT debut. Will ring rust play a factor? Will age? Or experience? Sully's Prediction: On paper Seeman seems to have all the advantages. However Force only needs one hit to take you out and I believe his experience will be a huge influence on this fight. Force to earn the late KO. The Doctor v Volga Overstreet The Doctor faces MMA veteran Overstreet who is making his KT debut here. Despite this being his first time in the KT ring, Overstreet is a seasoned vet who is not shy to knock someone out. He puts it all on the line here while giving up a sizeable amount of weight. Very interesting matchup. Sully's Prediction: Overstreet has the edge in experience, however he is getting up there in age and has taken some damage in his fights. I think Doc's KT experience and his size advantage will be enough to wear Overstreet down to earn the late TKO. Junior Grand Master of KT - Middleweight Final Duke McStoner v Casper Timmermans The Finals of the Middleweight division sees two knockout artist step into the ring to take out the trophy. McStoner has shown that he can be flashy with his highlight reel KO's while Timmermans looks to be more technical with his boxing. McStoner has already taken a nice bonus with his spinning backfist KO. Will he look to take another? Sully's Prediction: Tough back and forth fight, and despite both men being knockout artists I see this being a close fight to the finish. Tough call to make, but if i had to choose i would have to say McStoner via Decision to take the trophy home. Lumpinee Welterweight Title Fight Nick Gonzalez v Cory McDonnell After just 2 fights each, both men will fight for the Lumpinee Welterweight Title. Say what you want about Gonazles, but he has been able to back his words up so far. McDonnell steps into the ring to fight for a belt despite not being old enough to have a beer after the fight! Interesting matchup indeed. Sully's Prediction: While Gonzales has shown he has explosive power with his raw aggressiveness, McDonnell has been improving at a rapid pace and may shock a lot of people here. I feel McDonnell will take the belt in this fight, however i have been wrong about Gonzales before. Halfdan Lodbrok v Bruce Luis Two veterans step into the KT ring in our co-main event here. Luis is coming off a huge win avenging his previous loss to JT Redman while Lodbrok looked sharp after 2 (tycoon) years away from the ring. Luis has improved a lot in the last few years, however Lodbrok seems to have shaken up his ring rust and his KO or be KO'd mentality has made for a lot of interesting fights. Sully's Prediction: Lodbrok looks focused and the time away from the ring looks to have rejuvenated him. He also has a big size advantage which will only help his KO power. Lodbrok to earn the early KO. Sergei Dimitrovich v Carson West EFFA Heavyweight Champion Dimitrovich comes in for the main event against West who despite being 30 years old only has 5 fights to his name and is looking to add a big name to his win list. On paper Dimitrovich brings years of experience to the ring having been a veteran in both MMA and KT. West has only had 4 wins and has knocked out all 4 of his opponents so anything can happen in the KT ring. And there we have it for Lumpinee 15!! 2 more fights to determine the finals!! Can anyone break the 18 second fastest KO via kicks? Or the 21 second fastest KO via punches? Also with the Hanging for Dear Life award (25k) up for grabs in the Final of the Heavyweight division, who will take that out? Click here for the prize list and prizes paid out. Here is the updated Heavyweight bracket where you can see at http://challonge.com/JGMKT2hw http://i.imgur.com/3l56XhL.png?1 Here is the updated Middleweight draw which you can see at http://challonge.com/JGMKT2mw http://i.imgur.com/TCuyN6g.png That's it for now! 37. Yeah I'm not taking shots at JJ in any way when I say it'd be better once a week. He really works at the paper and I really do like it's inclusion on the site and how it's constantly been run. I'm usually just adding some "Island feud hype" when I mention IslandFC's entries and stuff. I just think the newspaper benefits from having ACTUAL articles and making people actually work for their inclusion in the paper as opposed to having that many entries that everyone gets through no matter what.

  40. ISLAND FC 25 was not even close of being our best event ,but was necessary to get some answers regarding ranks fighters and future match ups....we were live from the Hard Knocks arena to watch another pure martial arts exibition ,given by some very good fighters on the making indeed....so this was expectedly a slow start of the month for us but we will defenitly pick up as the month goes on half of the cards of this month are virtualy filled already ,with some few slots for reserved fights still available.....on wednesday we will be doing loads of match ups, so if your fighter doesnt have a fight booked yet ,he will probably get one on wednesday, same goes for contracts renewals.....the divisions are looking great with loads of very active managers and fighters, the quality is condensing just fine ....lets not waist more time: 155 lbs TITLE Kingsley Babajide vs Herminio Herculano (SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT AWARD) This was a well anticipated rematch the corrent champion gave a chance to the only man to have defeated him ,Kingsley wanted to get hes revenge against the man that took hes 0 away...in their first fight Herculano TKO Kingsley inside 1 round, with hes brutal attack from the clinch and hes briliant takedown defense gave him an edge on that fight and on this fight Herculano was arguably winning it on the cards doing exacly the same thing he did on their previous meeting.....the first round was close but in my opinion he dominated that round and he defenitly caused the most damage, in the second round he showed hes class and absolutly won that round ,the fight was not that exiting but this was a battle of wills and Kingsley show real champions heart , he came into the third knowing that he would probably need the finish to retaine hes belt ,and he did just that, he scored a beautifull takedown as soon as the round started and the crowd went bananas when the fighter hit the matt....everyone knew that the champion had clear advantage and the fight could be about to finish, and they were right ,Kingsley advanced position swifly and got Herculanos back ,he slipt the arm under Herculano's chin for a RNC and squeezed real tight until Herculanos lights went off.....heartfull 3rd round submission win for Kingsley Babajide 145 lbs Patrick Bullar vs Bob Snake (FIGHT OF THE NIGHT AWARD) Bob Snake was a very expensive new addiction to our featherweight division....this exelente boxer with amazing KO power was knocking out people left, right and center in the QFC but he step up in oposition here against a better oponent and the result was not good....hes physicals didnt seem up to scratch and he was overwelmed by hes oponent strenght and agression in the clinch.....Bullar did the underdogs proud and completly anihalate the necomer super star, just like if he was saying :"wellcome to the premier league kid", ....For Snake will be back to the drawing board and work on hes physicals and for Bullar, the only way is up peobably 2 fights away from a Title shot if he keeps performing like this......impressive 1st round TKO win for Patrick Bullar 145 lbs Ivan Maksim vs Johny Trax Well Mksim career started realy well he came into the island unbeaten and won hes first two fights before meeting hes match when he faced the former champion "PING PONG" he lost twice in a row against ping pong and a quick match up agains Jesus Icon ,wich he lost aswell making hes form at that time ,3 losses in a row, he considered retirement but a long lay of did the trick ...he looked better then ever here , we saw a new side in hes game , hes boxing was imaculate ,precise counters that little by little took the gas out of Trax .....just like cuting down a tree, you dont do it in 1 very strong stroke you strike it several times from acurate angles.....eventualy the "tree" fell off....Trax only scored 1 of hes 36 takedown attempts and that tell you all you need to know about hes performance and the way it went down , very poor game plan.....good 3rd round TKO win for Ivan Maksim 265+ lbs Nivea Men vs This Amateur We cant realy say either man won any round , this was a freak show, starting with the fighters physical apearance and finishing on their game plan....horrible tactical display by both fighters where the man who scored the most takedowns would be considered the winner , well thats not why the fans pay the ticket to watch this, the fans pay to watch a fight not a wrestling match ,TWGC is an option for graplers ....but yeh it was horrible ,even the decision was a dubious one, i honestly tought This Amateur was the best in this terrible fight but whatever, he doesnt deserve the win neither....i think both fighters pay should be diverted into charity, that would ,at least ,attenuate the pain of some.....freak decision win for Nivea Men 185 lbs Lester Mao vs Winston Hill (KO OF THE NIGHT AWARD) Exelent MT display here by Lester he absolutly destroyed Winston with hes kicks ,very acurate kicks indeed .....he controled the distance well with hes range and Wiston legs are going to be sore for a long time , he took a lot of damage with those leg kicks and that took hes ability to move ,he started to get slugish and eventualy lost hes ability to defend himself eficiently and got caught with a monstruous head kick that could put a camel to sleep....only good things in the horizont for this young man and im beting my money that it wont be long before hes knocking at the champion door asking for hes shot....demolition 2nd round KO win for Lester Mao 135 lbs Wyatt Twinkletoe vs Demitrious Johnson We were about to fire hes ass , he was 0-3 but 2 wins in hes last 3 fights changed the all complexion of he matter and we like that, we as promoteurs love to have options and Twikletoe beca,e one all the sudden....he scored hes second win here and was a submission again,it was close while they were standing up ,both fighter showing respect for each other skills , Twinkletoe managed to get hes takedown early in the first he tried to keep control but he didnt like the position and stand the fight up, another little exange standing and he went for the takedown again but this time he landed into side control and manage to land a few good strikes confusing hes oponent and opening hes defenses ,to defend against the strikes he gave hes back and Twikletoe said: " thank you very much nite nite"......surprizingly good 1st round submission win for Wyatt Twinkletoe 170 lbs Samson Gates vs Hernando Cortez There is not much to say here realy, this was just like McGregor vs Aldo, 13sec ko , the shot to the liver start things up and open the defenses to land a beautifull combination right on target and the ref had to come for Cortez rescue , this guy is not Mexican thoe Mexicans are tougher then this and that is a fact....very quick 1st round TKO 155 lbs Daniel Tinto vs Luke Davidson Luke was geting the uperhand on the striking exanges and Tinto did the right thing and successfully managed to take the fight to the ground ....then he was very agressive but mixing up well hes GNP and hes submissions until he manage to grab hold of Tinto's arm and extend it to finish the fight in the 1st round by the way of KO..... 170 lbs Danny Rand vs Pannah Wu I think Wu understimate hes oponent here , he show no respect for Rand's heavy hands and good kicks , and he defenitly understimate hes clinchwork....Rand was countering with power punching but without relevate damage being made he was actualy loosing the stand up battle overcomiting in every shot and exposing himself to counters ,he was takendown once but got right back up ....when the fight got to the clinch ,there's where he did the most damage and was from that position that he won the fight.....good 2nd round TKO win for Danny Rand 265 lbs Ulrich Holworth vs Anton Pidarasik This fight was all about that suplex ....oh my god he got some damage done to hes spine for sure ...i felt it under the sole of my feet ,here cage side and the noise, it was like a thunder inside the arena.....as soon as they hit the ground Anton didnt even knew where he was and Ulrich took hes back very easiely and choke him out.....quick and brutal 1st round submission win for Ulrich Holworth WARRIOR QUOTES “Blackthorne, beside the gates, was still turmoiled by his boundless joy at her reprieve and he remembered how his own will had been stretched that night of his near-seppuku, when he had had to get up as a man and walk home as a man unsupported, and became samurai. And he watched her, despising the need for this courage, yet understanding it, even honoring it.” #ISLANDFC #THEUNIT #MAMADO

  45. Hey timqwe, thanks for voicing your concerns. The only limit to the season 1 tournament is the official 289+ID. Pass that, age does not matter. At this time of the mmatycoon universe, the newest IDs are 293+. That is not too big of a difference in skill. The one gym idea is what makes this tournament very unique. For the span of 1 season you will be invited to a state of the art gym with double and triple level elite coaches. It is suppose to reflect a reality show. Team Captains get full control on what coaches are even hired! It sounds pretty exciting to me. Have anyone ever watched ultimate fighter? For those who haven't, it is a group of hungry men and women living under one roof and working at the same gym competing to get a ufc contract. That is where this concept mainly comes from. Being under the same gym/house is not meant to be easy. You will be away from your home gym, working with the same people you have to fight one day, and the pressure of being the first champ in SEC history along with HOF implications. It is suppose to be hard to become a champion. This competition is going weed out the people who really want the belt and be named the first champ. I will not force anyone to be apart of this tournament. I understand everybody has different motivations. I believe I have a wonderful concept with wonderful incentives but I don't expect everybody to feel the same. If you would not like to participate, feel free to tell me and I will have no problem setting up other fights outside of the tournament. Also there is no pressue for ANYBODY to fight. I just want to make sure that is clear.
