  2. Adam you should win community person of the year, you are such a boon for this game!

  3. I haven't seen you in the top 5 apart from your recent rise in the rankings in the past month or two so I don't really see how that counts as most of the year. I believe there was an instance of you earlier this year hitting #4 in the rankings, but other than that and the previously indicated last couple of months, not at all really. Overall though, I just feel that the managers mentioned for the Half Year award have had better years overall than almost every other manager, including yourself. There of course could be a few managers who I missed that could be in contention, such as David Brent who very well could be a contender for the full Manager of the Year award when you look at the year he has had so far combined with the caliber of fights he has coming up in the future. But along with that, I also haven't heard great things from a couple of org owners about their dealings with you this year, such as ignoring fight offers, or else accepting them when it's only a couple of days from, and in one instance the day of, the fights that have been offered. So when I include that into it, it drops you considerably down the picking selection.

  4. Give 2700 points at fighter creation and just fight with peaked fighters. You shouldnt be able to keep them after it is over. Also Island fights shouldnt count for manager record and hype to avoid exploits.

  6. If all VIP-managers would be allowed to have a gym besides another company, that would be great for the game: - More companies equals more rivalry and possibilities. - Less people with multi accounts ( as they are often created just to have a gym and another company). - Better training as all VIP's would be able to have their own gym and wouldn't have to overcrowd their buddies' gym. - ...

  8. He won best new manager of 2016? That's funny. The award on his profile says 2014 and his registration date falls after nominations for the 2013 awards which makes him eligible. As for Gianka, it's well known he trolls on 99% of his posts where he gives an opinion so I'll be taking it with a pinch of salt. The next TWW News will be up sometime in the next few weeks with a special edition.

  11. Leg kicks and body shots are a great tool to help mix it up and slow your opponent down. As Bwang has said leg kicks will slow down the opponents movement speed (good against TD artists to slow down the TD attempts, help you defend the TD more and more), and body shots will sap the opponents energy. Ultimately the body shots will slow down the opponent a lot by sapping their energy but leg kicks are always useful even against another striker because you should always be using the most varied attack possible. This all helps to score an eventual KO, it's how it's done at the top level of this game really. At the low level you can score a head kick KO just like that in 1 shot or a one punch KO out of seemingly nowhere. This happens sometimes at the top level but mostly the finishes are from being strategic and mixing it up, playing to your strengths and hitting them where it hurts.

  13. Unfortunately you can't get a body shot KO/TKO in this game, which I think is a shame and should be added as a rare type of finish. In general: leg kicks slow the other guy down, body shots tire him out, and head shots finish him off.

  15. Just sent you a fight, thank you for your patience. I wish I could do more advertising but not enough bandwidth and have to prioritize booking events/moving fights over promoting the org. Our next 4 events are fully booked and working on booking end of Sept/beginning of October over the next few weeks. With only 2 active Island orgs we might have to take on some more fighters so fights will most probably be every 10-20 days. I tried to move some of my fighters to that new org Chaos but the owner never answered my email and his only event booked (in 4 days) is not fully booked. 44 fighters stuck there. KOTR has halted operations also, no future events. 33 fighters stuck there. Island FC will continue, and Scotty and TIT have also confirmed they will. HODOR

  18. I may be a new player so my thoughts may not be accurate but I do have a little experience from being in KD's open weight division with my gnp fighter. He is 185 pounds and has had 3 open weight fights, a 290lb striker, a 162 lb wrestler, and a 160 lb striker. His next opponent is a 300 lb gnp fighter so that would be great to add to this but its a week and a half away. I made a mistake making my fighter slow so it was hard to take down the 290 sprawl/mt but I felt like being lighter helped me do that. Once I had on the ground I had more trouble controlling him than a lighter fighter and he was able to last most of r1 fighting off my gnp (even though none missed) and beat me stand up early round 2. The most interesting of my results came from the smaller wrestler where I won in decision though still having slow takedowns I was able to pull guard 3 times in the fight and 2 of those times I was able to reverse to the top position controlling him and winning the decision with controlling ground and pound. At 1 weight class lower than me I felt like I controlled him on the ground quite well. The last fight being slow I had trouble taking him down though once I actually did he could do nothing but defend off my gnp until I cut him too bad. I missed quite a lot of gnp but I think I got cocky on that and put the damage too high with not enough accuracy since before that fight he was never missing his gnp. So I definitely feel like its easier to control with a bigger stronger guy however I also believe the first thought is also true that heavier guys are easier to get in a sub if they have a good smaller bjj guy.

  19. A problem some managers find is when a fighter they've loved and nurtured throughout their career reaches the end phase of their fighting life they only have two options: 1) retire him to the Bahamas at the cost of 90 VIP days. 2) release him to the wider world, where he may have his name changed, his face changed, and his record tarnished by mismanagement. I propose that when you add him to your personal hall of fame (as visible on your manager profile page) his record, face and name are logged as they are then, forever enshrined in that state. THEN, you can release him to the free agency market whereby he can be picked up by whoever and done whatever with - name changed, loss after loss accrued and so on. Ok, it doesn't "make Mike more money" (as is a common argument in discussions like this) but it's a nice bonus to us, the loyal players. It won't stop people choosing to retire a guy to the Bahamas as the name and avatar may not be changed by the next manager, and when you click on them in the future it will still link to the same fighter profile page like it does now; it is just a snapshot of a fighter frozen in time for the ex-manager to enjoy. Thoughts?

  31. http://i.imgur.com/BawKd7t.png Edition #21 Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Edition #21 of TWW News. With nearly 2 months since our last edition, we have plenty of cover in recent events along with updating you all on the current affairs in the game. Org Round Up Evolution looked like it was going to be out of business on a permanent basis when they sold their roster to CEC which solidified their star power, despite a number of fighters signing elsewhere, but Mega Jug has made a return with the org, which has now installed a 288k ID restriction. People have speculated why this ID restriction would be in place rather than say 285k or 290k, and people have pointed out that Mega Jug’s unsigned fighters begin with 288k. While that isn’t proven to be the reasoning behind it, it will be interesting to see how Evolution progresses under the new direction. Synchronicity continues to be a powerhouse in the Org rankings, holding onto the #1 position for what seems to be a permanent basis now. They have an incredible 24% of the top 100 fighters, and over 70 fighters in the top 1000 P4P, along with 5 of the current top 10, with Pandahammer being in GAMMA for a superfight. GAMMA and CEC have both been slowly making improvements to their orgs, with GAMMA having 19 of the top 100 and CEC having 16 fighters in there. Both orgs are in close contention for the #2 spot in the power rankings this time, but will we see a switch in them this time? Aspire MMA continues to be one of the most exciting brands the game has to offer, with their recent announcement of their initial HOF class and their success at bursting into the PPV scene. They have 5 fighters in the top 100 P4P, and seem to have a lot of potential talent on their roster which should see that number rise further. Underground completed the merging of Ascension’s roster into their existing divisions and it has seen plenty of excitement rise among their fans. The question with the org is whether their roster needs to be running an additional event here and there, or whether they need to downsize with a roster of over 120 and what seems to be a cycle of 4 weeks for fights. Bushido remains the top Non-PPV org in the game and plans to eventually become a PPV org are surely in the pipeline for the Tokyo based promotion. I was recently hired to the org in an effort to help them build up the roster and improve their numbers, and I have to say that Rei has done a phenomenal job with the org in all aspects. With DFC’s inactivity, a number of their biggest fighters have already jumped over to Bushido, with 6 of their 7 champions making the move among others. Game Improvements Mike Tycoon made the announcement he was creating a player-run group that would be responsible for deciding on what changes the game would be making. To begin with, he was entrusting them to make aesthetical game changes, and so far there have been improvements to the KT side of the game with P4P trophies being added along with a HOF page. The Pre-Fight introduction has been updated to include the fighter’s current P4P and w/c rankings, something people have been calling to be included for a long time in order to see the rise of fighters throughout their careers. The next improvement to be implemented is a Belt Cabinet for fighters to show off their championship accomplishments throughout their careers, another update people have been looking forward to seeing added to the game. The update to follow that is TBD, but with an average of one update per week, and no real disruption or discord among the group so far, it’s looking like a very positive move forward for the game. Guide to Fighter Building This was something I was planning on doing sometime before the end of the year, but thankfully, someone else has done one and it contains pretty much everything I would have written, and even more. Big thanks to King Kendrick (Ovoxo) for making the guide which is a fantastic starting point for people looking to make projects. While he admits it is not the be all and end all of fighter builds, if you have no real idea of how to build top fighters, this is a good starting point before you start having your own ideas of what a top fighter can be. Link to the Fighter Guide can be found HERE Half Year Awards Although a bit late to be really considered “Half-Year Awards”, we’ll still be taking a look at some of the upcoming awards and who we think are the frontrunners so far, along with who we would pick to win if it had to be decided today! Manager of the Year TWW Nominations – Whymer Van Mastodon, Chris Karter, Grant Brophy, Bradley Burns Winner – Whymer Van Mastodon I was going to have more nominations, but there were way too many people I felt were close to each other when it came to the 5th spot. All 4 of those above have been #1 during the year, and their records are incredible, with it standing at Whymer - 97-41-5 (67.8% Win Rate), Chris Karter 150-45-5 (75% Win Rate), Grant Brophy 75-12-1 (85.2% Win Rate) and Bradley Burns 149-65-8 (67.1% Win Rate). While Chris Karter has had the best fighter this year in Kajun Puno, Whymer’s success and ability with fighters are different weight classes and sheer stature gives him the edge in my opinion so far. While I feel Burns lost his pace a lot in recent times, his success in the mid-season of the year gives him a place among the best of the year, while I don’t really know what to say for myself, but spending all year so far in the top 10 and slowly getting champions in multiple orgs gives me a case of being up for consideration also. There are a few names who, given a strong end of year, could end up in the voting also so this award is far from decided at this point. Org of the Year TWW Nominations – Synchronicity, CEC, GAMMA, Underground and Aspire MMA Winner – Aspire MMA Despite Syn being the highest ranked org, I personally have them tied for 2nd in my Org of the Year rankings with GAMMA. While GAMMA haven’t been the #1 ranked org, and while Syn has a better roster, GAMMA does provide more write ups than Syn which is a factor I look forward to in orgs. When I look at an org that is the complete package however, Aspire MMA ticks every box. While I could certainly be called biased, with my admiration for Aspire being abundantly clear and that I see them as a lot like my own former org, they bring everything you could want from an org to the table. Consistent write ups for the entire year since Adam Holland took charge, building up a fantastic roster, an owner that you can talk to about any detail of the org, pushing on to PPV level, cracking the top 4, etc. I could go on for days about what Aspire MMA have done this year, but I will simply say that what they have done from an immersive aspect of the game is far and beyond what any other org has brought. Best New Manager of the Year TWW Nominations – Adam Holland, Brian Behdiez, Tyson Mitchell, Cobb ., Danielle Bee Winner – Tyson Mitchell This was a pretty tough call between Tyson and Danielle, with both hitting the ground at a breakneck speed in terms of how they are picking up the game and learning from their mentors. Tyson has a winning rate of 80.4% while Danielle has a winning rate of 72.4%. Both of these Aussie rookies have top quality mentors in King Kendrick (Tyson) and Chris Karter (Danielle) who are both instilling their own person views on the game, and you can see from their starting builds on that. What makes Tyson standout is he is fighting significantly higher ranked managers than Danielle, with her last 20 being in the 700’s on average while Tyson’s is in the low 200’s. Add on top of that he has established the best clothing store in the game right now, and Tyson is the frontrunner for the Best New Manager of the Year. Alliance of the Year TWW Nominations – The Six Musketeers, Boyz 2 Champz, Convicted Inc Winner – The Six Musketeers Obviously with The Musketeers being my own alliance, this may come off as biased, but the competition is actually quite fierce this year. 3 alliances have won the Division 1 Pyramid, and they are the 3 nominated alliances. All of these alliances hold some of the best managers in the game today, and house many of the top fighters. The sole thing that I could separate them on really was how many Division 1 wins they had this year. Convicted picked it up twice, capturing the crown in January and July. Elite Punishment Inc won the division in June, changing their name to Boyz 2 Champz in the process, a moniker that was a huge hit with the MMA Tycoon faithful. The Six Musketeers have won the Division 1 title 4 times this year, with a run of wins in February, March, April and May during a period of fierce competition with Boyz 2 Champz, an alliance I once said could have snuck the title from The Musketeers at any point and they subsequently did. We have 4 more months of the year to go however, and The Musketeers and Boyz 2 Champz are engaged fiercely in competition for the Division this month once more. The remaining months could either see one alliance pull ahead of the pack, or perhaps a surprise contender emerge from the chasing pack. Fighter of the Year TWW Nominations – Lukasz Wolek, Kajun Puno, Karim Bashorov, Robbie Luatua Winner – Kajun Puno This year was pretty much the year of the Pinoy Savage. Undefeated so far in 2017, with his last loss coming on New Years Eve in a loss to Jordi Joestar. Aside from that sole loss, he has been near unstoppable at 265, which he moved up to in Mid 2015, and his record in the division stands at 21-1. He defeated a list of top contenders in 2017, with wins over Slade Traylor, Jean Paul Garcon, Bo Juggernaut and Monte Zuma, along with stopping the huge winning streak of Robbie Luatua and avenging his sole loss in the division to Jordi Joestar. Fight of the Year Divock Origi vs Menace Defoe I, Michael Murdock vs Buakaw Banchamek, Seifer Almasy vs Alexey Karasev I Winner – Divock Origi vs Menace Defoe I There have been some outstanding fights this year, with the three listed above just among the ones I have noticed for their ferocious back and forth battling. Origi vs Defoe I takes this on account of being the most high profile fight of the bunch, as both fighters looked at times to have taken the other out of it before they battled back into contention Power Rankings *Note, these are purely initial thoughts based on their recent results, combined with their opposition, average opp rank, and title holders in recent times* Managers – #1 – Whymer Van Mastodon ^2 #2 – Pablo Spezziale ^Unranked #3 – Chris Karter v2 #4 – David Brent ^Unranked #5 – Grant Brophy ^Unranked Fighters – #1 – Kajun Puno ^1 #2 – Viktor Tsoi ^Unranked #3 – Gerbert Bryant ^Unranked #4 – Kalervo Kaunismieli ^Unranked #5 – Felix Sturm ^Unranked Orgs – #1 – Synchronicity = #2 – GAMMA = #3 – Aspire MMA ^2 #4 – CEC v1 #5 – Underground = The TWW News Hall of Fame Class of July 2017 Yes it’s been a long time coming, and I was initial going to be doing a much bigger write up on this but time restraints of late mean I will only be able to announce names rather than do a write up for each inductee.
