  6. IFC 58 Heavyweight vs Nekele (July 7th, 2018 - Venice Beach - Los Angeles) Prelims Fight 1 - Middleweight Division 3-6, IFC (3-6, 184 lbs) Hennig Muller VS 3-3, IFC (9-18, 210 lbs) Raheem “The Dream” Nazir Starting off our evening Muller takes on Nazir in a middleweight bout at the bottom of the division. Muller hasn’t had the most successful career, but he has been steadily improving over time and now finds himself on a two fight win streak. Coming up against him is Nazir who defeated the same two fighters, but then lost to Patryk in a fight many had him the favorite of. Muller has the advantage coming in due to his better boxing and this should hold true in the results as his wrestling is better than Nazir’s as well. Fight 2 - Middleweight Division 1-1, IFC (4-4, 220 lbs) General Snus VS 0-0, IFC (2-0, 182 lbs) “The Pilot” Temir Temirov In the final fight of the prelims relative newcomer Snus takes on an actual newcomer as Temirov as he makes his IFC debut. The first thing you will notice if you look at Snus’ match history is the two letters KO. Every single fight he has been in has either resulted in his opponent unconscious on the ground or he himself unconscious on the ground. Temirov is brand new to the IFC and finds himself under a manager new to the mma business. This fight will be a good test for Temirov and his new manager as he should have the average in everything except striking from a distance, if he can close the distance this fight is his for the taking. Due to this fact he should be the favorite to come away with the win. Undercard Fight 3 - Lightweight Division 0-1, IFC (9-5, 147 lbs) Jan “Champion” Jedrzejczyk VS 7-6, IFC (7-6, 152 lbs) Sirimongkol Niyotrong In the opening fight of the undercard Jedrzejczyk hopes to reverse the negative impression he created in his first IFC fight as he takes on long time IFC fighter niyotrong. Jedrzejczyk came into the IFC full of hope with impressive all around technique, but fell short of beating his opponent Van Rijn in a decision where he lost every round. If he wants to make a name for himself in a new organization losing to the 10th ranked fighter is not a good start, but also not a cause for concern. Coming up against him is Niyotrong who has continued to win 1 then lose 1 for quite some time now. He is coming off of a loss so even a victory here would only serve to continue his trajectory of maintaining rank. This fight is about as even as it comes in terms of pure technique as each fighter is almost literally equally skilled in every facet of their game. In this fight I give the edge to Niyotrong who despite having difficulty finishing his opponents has also been able to avoid being finished himself and Jan has had trouble in fights that go the distance so far in his career. Fight 4 - Middleweight Division 0-0, IFC (4-1, 220 lbs) Gannicus The Gladiator VS 8-10, IFC (8-10, 210 lbs) Chong “The Star Fish” Tay Next for this evening we have Gannicus the Gladiator taking on Chong Tay in a no holds barred fight for relevancy. Both of these fighters have the skills to challenge those in the rankings and will want to prove so by beating their opposition in this fight. The Gladiator has an impressive 4-1 record from his previous organization with one of those wins even coming against Seventeen a fighter who previously challenged for the heavyweight IFC title. He comes to the IFC as the defending KFC champion and wants to prove that his belt in the previous organization was not lack of competition. Tay stands opposed to this man with a rather dismal run as of late losing to many people he should have defeated. He has had many scratching their heads in wonder as such a talented fighter has only an 8-10 record. Tay’s biggest problem has been his lack of a ground game, but in this fight that won’t be a problem as his opponent shares the same weakness. With both fighters want to duke it out standing this fight will ultimately come down to Gladiator’s Elite boxing and Tay’s sensational muay thai. If this fight goes to the clinch Tay has a very large advantage while in a straight up striking match Gladiator should hold the advantage. Tay should be able to walk away with the victory as Gladiator has had trouble against clinch fighters in the past and Tay is one of the best the IFC has to offer. Fight 5 - Lightweight Division 1-0, IFC (6-1, 147 lbs) Takumi Sagaki VS 2-2, IFC (10-5, 130 lbs) Gunter “Meat Hooks” Schultz For our halfway point of the evening Takumi Sagaki and Gunter Schultz go head to head in the lightweight division in a fight between a pure grappler and a well rounded mma fighter. Sagaki has little in the way of striking, but if Chugman has proven anything, its the fact that a pure grappler can be dangerous if pulled off properly. Sagaki comes in with exceptional wrestling and a black belt to go with his impressive 6-1 record and hopes to improve his IFC record to 2-0. Trying to prevent that from happening is Schultz who started off in the IFC with an impressive 2-0 record, but then dropped two straight fights. Many thought he was a future ranker as he defeated Andy Bogard, but now he finds himself nowhere near the top 15 with much to prove. Sagaki’s gameplan is obvious and this fact could prove to be his undoing if Schultz can manage to exploit his lack of striking. This fight will completely revolve around whether or not Schultz can keep his feet and if taken down survive long enough to get back to his feet. However, given the knowledge I have at this point in time I have to give the advantage to Sagaki, because his wrestling has been very impressive and while Schultz’ losses came against strikers it will be difficult for him to prevent all the takedowns from Sagaki. Fight 6 - Heavyweight Division 3-0, #15 IFC (5-2, 270 lbs) Naoise “Beginner to Winner” Durnin VS 1-2, #11 IFC(6-3, 265 lbs) “Heart of Darkness” Hercules Fortier In the last fight of the undercard we have our two first ranking fighters going head to head. The 15th ranked Durnin has gone undefeated since joining the IFC yet finds himself ranked below the 1-2 Fortier. This fact is something that many wonder about and he is out to prove that Fortier has not earned his rank. The only thing that can be said in Fortier’s defense is that he has come up against some actual rankers whereas Durnin has yet to face one and this will be his first attempt against one of those names at the top of the heavyweight division. When these two fighters butt heads you know your going to get two very elite fighters going at eachother with everything they have. Durnin has the clear advantage standing with sensational boxing and exceptional muay thai, but going into an elite wrestler with a brown belt in jiu jitsu, Fortier definitely has the ability to neutralize Durnin’s striking advantage with his ground game. Durnin has good wrestling, but will it be up to the task of stuffing Fortier? I would have to guess no and give Fortier the advantage going in, but Durnin isn’t 3-0 for no reason and underestimating him is not a good idea for any fighter. Main Card Fight 7 - Heavyweight Division 6-3, IFC (6-3, 270 lbs) Patrick Thompson VS 0-0, IFC (7-3, 255 lbs) Maikel Fortuyn Opening up our main card we have two of the best unranked heavyweight fighters as Thompson attempts to continue his climb through the rankings against Fortuyn who will be making his IFC debut after coming over from the TBD. Thompson is 1 victory outside of the power rankings in the heavyweight division, but ultimately his loss to Bell ended with him on the outside looking in. However, he has still won 5 of his last 6 fights and is always in the conversation as someone who could find his name on that list at any time. Coming up against him is newcomer Fortuyn who had an impressive track record in the TBD and has defeated the 10th ranked IFC fighter Coco in the past. He has high expectations coming in, but having not fought this will ultimately be our first look at him to see if this expectations are misplaced or not. The big reason why Thompson falls short of the rankings time and time again is, because of his very poor wrestling and jiu jitsu. If he ever manages to get these better his placement on the power rankings is almost assured. However, Fortuyn doesn’t care about going to the ground and as such this weakness will not be pronounced in this fight. These fighters will be going at it standing both from a range and in the clinch and the better fighter will end with his hand raised and most likely the opponent on the ground not moving. I expect the one with his hand raised to be Fortuyn as he should have the advantage in the clinch by a decent margin. Fight 8 - Middleweight Division 0-0, IFC (12-2, 224 lbs) Mike “Major Mayhem” Megaton VS 1-0, #15 IFC(10-4-1, 185 lbs) Yen “Funky” Askren In our final fight before we get to the main events, yet another fighter makes his debut as Mike Megaton takes on the 15th ranked newcomer Yen Askren. Megaton was the defending champion of the 205 pound weight class in the TBD before its closure so he has very high expectations placed on him partly, because he has defeated Dali who jumped to #3 in the IFC after defeating Fischer. If Megaton can continue to perform as he did in the TBD he won’t just be top 15 he will almost assuredly be in the top 5 and possibly challenger for the belt. Going up against him is Askren who was also an impressive force in the TBD, however unfortunately for him he had the misfortune of being in the same weight class as the buzzsaw Carter and although challenged for the belt lost both times. Now we get to see a fight between these two men due to the weight class structure of the IFC and find out if he had been in a different weight class Askren had the potential to be a champion. This fight will largely depend on each fighter’s striking as Askren has the better boxing coming in while Megaton is the better muay thai fighter. With both fighters coming in with similar gameplans and technique we are going to be treated to a showdown between two former champions of the TBD under their new banner of the IFC. Coming into the fight I believe Askren has the slight advantage, but with how close these two fighters are it will be a close fight that should put people on the edge’s of their seats. Co-Main Event - Lightweight Division 9-9, #6 IFC (12-9, 152 lbs) Evgeni Lomachenko VS 4-2, #3 IFC (13-7, 145 lbs) Mister Island Now to our Co-Main Event of the evening! The rematch between Lomachenko and Island will be an exciting fight as each fighter has moved up in the world since their previous fight. In their first bout they went to the ground for pretty much the entire duration of the fight and early in the second round Island managed to lock in a guillotine and come out on top with the submission victory. If Lomachenko wants to get the win this time around he will have to either try and abuse his better boxing or out work his opponent on the ground in order to find himself on the winning end of a submission or some ground and pound. As previously stated, both of these fighters love to go to the ground and utilize impressive wrestling and jiu jitsu to get their wins so this fight will most likely go to the ground. However, Lomachenko found out in their last fight that he may not be superior on the ground and Island is one of the few fighters he has better striking then so he could look to change it up this time around. However, Lomachenko still has to be considered the underdog as Island won their last meeting and still holds the advantage in jiu jitsu. Main Event - IFC Heavyweight Championship Title Fight 7-1, IFC Champion (23-3, 280 lbs) Super “Dominator” Heavyweight VS 12-3, #1 IFC(13-4, 270 lbs) Naiki “Angel of Vodka” Nekele Finally we get to our Main Event of the evening where Heavyweight attempts to make his second title defense since taking the belt from Tower. I’m sure Heavyweight needs no introduction as he is only the second man in the IFC to hold the heavyweight title belt after having previously lost the original title fight to Tower. You can’t say enough about this man’s determination to get back in the ring with someone who defeated him and to manage to come away the victor the second time around. He has already defended the belt once against Rasputin and now will try and reach the same amount of defenses as Tower with a second defense. Nekele wants to make sure this doesn’t happen as he has won 6 straight fights to get to this point and is only one more victory away from not only a seven fight winning streak, but the IFC heavyweight belt as well. He has done an amazing job of finishing opponents with only one decision victory during his rise in the rankings, effectively putting people out better than even Vodka itself. (Who am I kidding Vodka is much more powerful than Nekele, sorry man) Nekele will be hard pressed to get this fight into the clinch having worse boxing than his opponent, but once he gets into the clinch its hard to say if he would have the advantage even their due to Heavyweight’s exceptional wrestling. If he could defeat a man like Tower in the clinch then Nekele has a lot to worry about even if he can get this fight to the clinch. Heavyweight should have the advantage, but Nekele has a decent chance of coming away with a victory as well, all things considered we get to look forward to a great fight and its almost guaranteed that someone is getting knocked out in this one.

I can't wait to see who else gets to hold these belts and see if anyone can ever challenge Mew Choo's record as the GOAT of the IFC organization to date. Good luck to all and I look forward to you all striving to get your name on the next iteration of this list.
  8. I would like to congratulate both Alfred Winterbottom and Pika Choo for being the first two managers inducted into the IFC hall of fame, both were integral to the organizations success, WInterbottom of course, because without him there would be no IFC, and Choo for having many of the top fighters filling many rankings and always being quick to accept fights. These are only the first two managers and there are a few other managers being considered, consistency in accepting or denying fights quickly as well as being competitive in the organization are probably the two biggest factors in being named and I feel that these two managers exemplify these traits.

  10. IFC 57 Fischer vs Dali (June 30th, 2018 - Venice Beach - Los Angeles) Prelims Fight 1 - Middleweight Division 7-11, IFC (7-12, 210 lbs) James “The Nervous” Gregor VS 2-1, IFC (3-2, 192 lbs) “Crazy Eyed” Dangerous Dan We start off our night with a doozy of a match as the struggling Gregor takes on another fighter coming off of a loss in Dan. Gregor is a very strong fighter in the middleweight division who has been around since early in the organization’s career. His record makes him look like a below average fighter, but most of his losses came against high ranking fighters and his most recent win even came against the 9th ranked fighter Warholm. Matching up against him is Dangerous Dan who has only been in the IFC for three fights now, but has made a decent showing of himself with his only loss coming up against Diaz in his last bout. This should be an amazing fight as Gregor is an elite boxer while Dan is superior in both muay thai and jiu jitsu with each fighter being equal in wrestling. Dan will most likely want this fight to go to the ground, despite preferring stand up so far in his career. However, Gregor most likely has the advantage and as long as he keeps the fight standing we can expect him to walk away with the victory. Fight 2 - Middleweight Division 3-4, IFC (3-4, 220 lbs) Pacer “The Turnip” Dalton VS 11-7-1, IFC (12-8-1, 185 lbs) Boss Yonic As is usual for fighters in the prelims we have yet another struggling fight, as Dalton takes on Yonic who has done decent as of late just hasn’t been able to string together enough wins consistently to build hype. Dalton has three straight losses now, this sensational wrestler has struggled with his poor jiu jitsu, not able to keep control on the ground long enough to abuse his powerful wrestling. Going against him is Yonic whose exceptional wrestling as well as his purple belt should leave him skilled enough to go at it with Dalton on the ground in a match which should end up with both fighters struggling to maintain control on the ground. The winner of this match will ultimately be the fighter who stays on top as both are strongly geared towards wrestling. However, due to the fact Yonic has won with 5 submissions He should have the advantage against Dalton who has been submitted in the past. Undercard Fight 3 - Heavyweight Division 0-0, IFC (8-6, 285 lbs) Wolfgang Ubensplikt VS 2-4, IFC (4-7, 285 lbs) Pete “Red Bull” Blowkarski Starting off our undercard a fighter whose name I can’t type let alone pronounce makes his IFC debut against A man who has been struggling since joining the organization. Ubensplikt had a decent career at TBD managing to climb his way up in the rankings only to fall short against those at the top, time and time again. Blowkarski has been in the IFC for 6 fights now after starting with the UFC. He has not made a good showing of himself, but has good enough skills to at least reach the middle of the pack. This fight will rely completely on whether or not Blowkarski can maintain his feet or not as Ubensplikt has much better wrestling and jiu jitsu at the same belt level as his opponent. If this fight gets to the ground Blowkarski will be hard pressed to stay alive or get back to his feet. Due to this fact the advantage has to go to the newcomer Ubensplikt. Fight 4 - Middleweight Division 6-1, IFC (6-2, 190 lbs) Braven “Lionheart” Harris VS 3-0, IFC (5-3, 215 lbs) Tyrano” Action” Jackson Both fighters duking it out in this one are recent returnees to the IFC with Harris having his return match earlier this month and Jackson making his return in this one. Harris stepped away from the organized mma world to train after his January 31st victory over Ribeiro. In his return match Harris dominated the first round, but ended up being knocked out in the second round against Terry Bogard. His opponent Jackson fought 3 times in the TGC (1-2 record) with poor results before returning to the IFC hoping to rekindle the fire he showed when previously in the organization. He is currently undefeated in the IFC and hopes to continue his winning streak in this fight. Once again we have a case of a superior striker versus a superior grappler. While both fighters are similarly skilled boxers, Harris is a better muay thai fighter and as such should hold an advantage over Jackson assuming his wrestling doesn’t overwhelm the muay thai of Harris. The wrestling and jiu jitsu advantage in Jackson’s corner will most likely prove too much and I expect him to eventually earn himself the victory. Fight 5 - Middleweight Division 6-8 IFC (6-8, 190 lbs) Yoshihiro Sexyama VS 6-5 IFC (9-8, 175 lbs) Bea “Rick” Mason For our fifth fight of the evening the struggling Sexyama takes on another struggling fighter, Mason. Sexyama has lost two straight fights now, after finally looking like he was set to make an appearance in the rankings with an impressive win over Kirby. His loss to Bogard threw a wrinkle in that and his following loss to Tyson put the nail in the coffin and put Sexyama almost right back where he started with a need to prove himself once again. Taking him on in this fight Is Mason who has managed to keep himself a winning record despite running into the buzz saw that is the IFC middleweight ranking fighters. Mason found that against the ranking fighters his striking wasn’t enough and his wrestling left him unable to get the fight to the ground where he could use his brown belt in jiu jitsu to its fullest. If he wants to get a winning streak going he will have to shore up his striking or his wrestling, because without improvements in at least one of the above he will fall by the wayside as more diverse fighters abuse his weakness. This should be an interesting fight as Sexyama is a much better wrestler, but utilizing it could lead to him putting himself at risk against Mason’s superior jiu jitsu. However, on their feet, it looks like a wash as to who would come out ahead. However, I give Sexyama the advantage due to sheer determination, but this is probably the closest fight of the night up to this point. Fight 6 - Middleweight Division 0-0 IFC (5-3, 191 lbs) Rafael Loureiro VS 2-1 IFC (6-5, 190 lbs) Niko Diaz In the last fight of the undercard we have the IFC debut of a fighter I am very excited to see fight and he is taking on a fighter whom I have previously hyped up as one of the newer fighters to watch. The debutante Loureiro is a very highly skilled fighter in almost every aspect, but his black belt in jiu jitsu is probably the most impressive part of his technique. This gi wearing fighter’s jiu jitsu is no joke, coming straight from Brazil and having 4 submission victories to his name Diaz will be in trouble if he underestimates this man. Diaz has had mixed results in the IFC, with a lackluster decision win in his debut, followed by a loss via knockout, then finally a victory via knockout. His chin is a real concern, but sheer technical prowess may just be enough to compensate for that. This fight has many nuances to it as Loureiro looks to be the inferior fighter standing, but Diaz’ chin could make it more even than it looks in terms of just skill, but on the ground Loureiro should have the clear advantage. Due to this fact he should have the advantage and Diaz will need to showcase his wonderful wrestling if he wants to get the win in this fight. Main Card Fight 7 - Lightweight Division 0-0-1 #15 IFC (15-8-1, 162 lbs) Lazy Bastard VS 1-0-1 #15 IFC(1-1-1, 157 lbs) Randall “Black” Jackson Who isn’t excited for this next fight which is a rematch from last month? These two fighters had an impressive striking showdown that went back and forth with Bastard getting the better of the trades, but Jackson similarly got the better of Bastard once he took the fight to the ground where he imposed his will on Bastard. However, Majority draw means the judges thought the fight was too close to call although Bastard technically won on one of the three judge’s scorecards which is why it is a majority draw and not just a draw. Bastard will want to do similar things to their last fight, just to a high enough degree to win on more scorecards while Jackson will have to prove that the judge who declared Bastard the winner was mistaken. If you couldn’t tell from their last fight, these two will largely interact with a measure of parity on their feet, while Jackson has the clear advantage on the ground, which makes me believe that Jackson should come away with the victory this time around. Fight 8 - Lightweight Division 1-0, IFC (16-7, 139 lbs) Dominique “Alligator” Bell VS 2-2, IFC (2-2, 142 lbs) Cahal Jefferson Next one of the top 5 island fighters takes on a fighter who has only fought in the IFC to mixed results. Bell looked very strong during his time on the island, as the champion of his organization of choice, but did poorly in the end of season tournament and was knocked out quickly. Since leaving the island he has gone 3-3, with one of those victories coming in his only IFC fight. Going up against the island fighter is Jefferson who finds himself with two straight losses, participating in the fight that will dictate whether or not he has a winning record. He is definitely very skilled for a 22 year old and should be a fighter who eventually makes an appearance in the top 15. This fight will completely center around whether or not Jefferson can keep the fight standing or not. He is vastly superior to his opponent in striking, but is the worse fighter on the ground. Despite this fact I believe Jefferson should hold the advantage in this fight, with his wrestling being at a proficient level Bell will be hard pressed to get him to the ground. Co-Main Event - Heavyweight Division 6-5 #14 IFC (6-5, 256 lbs) Albert Van Rooy VS 4-5 IFC(11-9, 270 lbs) Vincent Lemieux Our Co-Main event pits two fighters who generally don’t find themselves as headliners in the events they participate in. Van Rooy has only recently made his way onto the rankings while Lemiueux hasn’t been hyped since very early in his career. Van Rooy’s defeats over Bell and Dawson were shocking to many who saw them and these wins have catapulted him into the top 15 of the heavyweight division. Although it is the smallest weight class in the IFC, one cannot underestimate the top 15 of any class. Lemieux has not fought since being crushed in the first round by Impaler and hopes to recover in his fight against Van Rooy, and possible put his own name in the running for the top 15. The winner of this fight will be largely dependent on the clinch. If Van Rooy can close distance with Lemieux he will get an easy win as long as he can keep from having guard pulled. This fact should make Van Rooy the favorite coming in, but Lemieux’s jiu jitsu is such that if Van Rooy relaxes he could find himself on the ground with a superior grappler at any time. Main Event - Middleweight Division 3-0 #4 IFC (5-0, 207 lbs) Dennis Fischer VS 0-0 IFC (9-2, 221 lbs) Arany “Nagy” Dali Capping out our night the 4th ranked undefeated Fischer tries to solidify his spot in the top of the middleweight division by defeating the defending TBD champion Dali in his IFC debut. Fischer has quieted all voices as he has risen very quickly within the IFC rankings, even defeating former champion Roman Divac on his climb. However, his manager recently retired so there are many wondering what effect this will have on the undefeated 22 year old out of Germany. Facing off against him and trying to hand him his first loss is Dali the champion of the TBD heavyweight division until its closure recently. Now he wants to make a successful debut in the IFC and show that he should be in consideration for the IFC belt right off the bat. This fight pits the 4th ranked manager against the 7th ranked manager and should be a very fun matchup to witness. Both fighters are similarly skilled with Dali holding an ever so slight advantage in jiu jitsu and boxing, but despite this it is hard to vote against the young Fischer. However, I gotta give my vote for Fischer to represent the IFC well and come away with the win.

  12. IFC 56 Jones vs Heavyweight (June 23rd, 2018 - King Theatre - Los Angeles) Shout out to Papa John, who accepted multiple fight offers even one today, but ultimately no one accepted the fight (or declined). Just wanted to give him a shout out for accepting so many fights on such short notice. Prelim Fight 1 - Lightweight Division (6-13, 167 lbs) Boyd “The Vanilla Og” Clark VS (4-7, 156 lbs) “The Clobberer” Timothy Rex In our first and only fight of the prelims Clark faces off against Rex as both fighters try to build upon the momentum from their previous win. Clark managed a controversial decision victory despite failing to land a majority of his strikes. Rex looked strong in his last fight, winning via TKO in the first round using vicious knees. This fight will be centered around the clinch as each fighter prefers to fight in the clinch with Clark having a slight advantage. Undercard Fight 2 - Heavyweight Division (9-11-1, 245 lbs) Maddox “Hitman” Wood VS (4-4, 255 lbs) Vinnie Sixx Next we have two fighters who have already fought eachother once with a quick first round ending via superman punch by Sixx. Wood has fought four times since then and is here to prove that the first fight was a fluke as he underestimated his opponent and was caught by a lucky punch. Sixx on the other hand is hoping to reverse his backward momentum with a win over someone he has already beaten. As an elite boxer, it is obvious what Sixx wants to do in this fight, as he tries to keep his distance from Wood’s muay thai skill in order to avoid the superior grappling, (both bjj and muay thai) of Wood. While I wouldn’t say history will repeat itself with another quick KO, I do believe that Sixx has a very clear advantage in this fight. Fight 3 - Lightweight Division (3-2, 164 lbs) TopOF “The Prodigy” FoodChain VS (10-8-1, 150 lbs) Andy Bogard FoodChain will be making his IFC debut in this fight as he fights Bogard who has been in the IFC since the second card ever in the organization. He comes from a short TWGC career as well as the TBD organization. His last fight was a loss in the TBD championship fight. He will want to prove himself in the IFC and Bogard is a perfect opponent to start off his IFC career against. While Bogard hasn’t ever been a championship worthy fighter he has definitely been highly regarded throughout much of his career in the organization. He has recently rekindled his spirit, winning 5 of his last 6 fights as he tries to once again claim a spot in the top 15. Both fighters are similarly skilled in jiu jitsu, but while FoodChain relies primarily on his boxing, Bogard has specialized more in muay thai. The matchup between these two styles will be the deciding factor in this match. I would give the advantage to FoodChain coming in with his superior wrestling and boxing he should be able to hold his own in the clinch against Bogard. Fight 4 - Middleweight Division (4-2, 191 lbs) Vincenzo Hall VS (9-4, 207 lbs) Kamden “The Situation” Jackson Hall versus Jackson will be a fun one for any TWGC fan to watch as both fighters are very proficient on the ground. The fight fan in me hopes that Hall will take this to the ground, but it may be more likely that he uses his superior wrestling to keep his feet where he can then use his superior striking to get the win. Jackson on the hand relies almost solely on his ground game something he has honed with a 7-2 record and the TWGC super heavyweight belt. Hall has already proven he has knockout power, while Jackson has proven only that he can handle himself on the ground. This could lead to a very one sided fight if Jackson can’t get this fight to the ground. Coming in I have to give the advantage to Hall, but there is no telling how exactly this fight will go. Fight 5 - Middleweight Division (8-6, 167 lbs) Lalama “Seal” Amana VS (9-9, 176 lbs) Dex “The Assassin” Arial Another fighter making his debut Amana gets to start off his IFC career against a fighter who has been attempting to fight his way into the top 15 for quite some time now. Amana has had all of his fights in the 155 pound division so far and he may find himself back into that division, however for now he is fighting against the 176 pound Arial and we will get to see how he matches up against a slightly heavier fighter. Arial has been struggling to maintain his position at the upper levels of the division just outside of the top 15, but has not done nearly enough to find his way into those rankings. Amana looks to be the advantaged fighter coming in with much better striking, but Arial has the better wrestling, so if he can get this fight to the ground he would have an advantage although only a slight one. Main Event Fight 6 - Middleweight Division (12-6, 195 lbs) Buffalo Marley VS (6-4, 192 lbs) Alex Stefanovic The first fight of our main event could be a fight between two championship candidates. Both Marley and Stefanovic look like extremely high level fighters with only the shortness of their IFC careers holding them back. Marley will be making his debut in the organization, however his three last fights came against fighters who now find themselves in the IFC 2 of which defeated him. Stefanovic has spent most of his career in the IFC so far and will be providing a not so warm welcome to Marley. He has done well in his IFC career focusing more on developing as a fighter than climbing the rankings, but he has hit his stride recently after rejoining the IFC, beating Gregor and losing to the previously top 10 fighter Nessy in a close decision. This fight pits two extremely capable fighters against eachother as Stefanovic holds the advantage in muay thai, but has worse boxing and jiu jitsu. If he can keep this fight in the clinch he should have the advantage and as such I would give him a very slight advantage coming into the fight. Fight 7 - Middleweight Division (9-7, 179 lbs) Terry Bogard VS (10-12, 178 lbs) Steven “The Steamroller” Kennedy Bogard looked strong making his way towards the top of the division, however he then ran into the wall that is the IFC middleweight division rankers and found himself losing three straight fights. His following two fights against non rankers found himself once again winning and a win here would pit him back against the fighters who cast him to this lower rank in the first place. Coming up against him is a man who once found himself in possession of the openweight IFC championship belt, but now has fallen on rough times, winning only 1 of his last 6 fights. His slide has been sad to see, but he is still a very good fighter and anyone who underestimates him will find out why he is called the steamroller. If one looks only at skills then Kennedy would be the almost certain victor, but Bogard has come up against those at the top and held his own. Though it seems weird considering Kennedy holds almost every advantage I’m going to have to predict Bogard the winner. Co-Main Event - Lightweight Division #11(11-10, 150 lbs) Daniel “The Unsanitary” Sainty VS (7-5, 157 lbs) “Touch of Death” Dumba Diame Jr Sainty is probably very excited for this fight as finally gets to fight someone other than the extremely proficient Gellar as Diame makes his return to the IFC following his win at Dare’s grappling tournament. Sainty has been in the top 15 for a long time running now, but will have to show his strength even more with all the new fighters joining as well as people like Diame returning. He was 1 victory from challenging from the title and would love to find his way back to a challenger fight. Diame was a fighter who had me extremely excited when he first joined the IFC and he didn’t disappoint in his debut, beating Van Rijn in the fist round. However, he followed that up with a loss to now eighth ranked Lopez. Following that fight he left the IFC to participate in a grappling tournament which ultimately ended in his victory and he is now the #1 ranked grappler at his weight class in the TWGC. However, this isn’t the TWGC and he will have to once again show his mettle in the octagon. Both fighters in this one have their black belts in jiu jitsu, but Diame has the superior muay thai and wrestling while Sainty is the better boxer. It would not be shocking to see this fight go to the ground as Diame has proven himself very potent on the ground while Sainty is no stranger to to submission victories with all eleven of his won fights happening via submission. Due to Diame’s current position in the TWGC world he should be the favorite coming in, but this is mma and things may not work out the same for him. Main Event - Middleweight Division (22-3, 197 lbs) Luther “Touch of Death” Jones VS #2(24-4, 220 lbs) Light “Son Of” Heavyweight Weird as it is we have another “Touch of Death” fighting in a row, makes one wonder if all you need to do to get strong is nickname yourself Touch of death. However, Jones will be making his debut in the IFC up against Heavyweight. Both of these fighters found themselves in the same organization on the island both champions just separated by weight class. Now we get the what if scenario as these two long time champions on the island who each won their respective weight classes in season 7 meet in an organized mma fight! We are fortunate to get to witness this event due to the semi open weight nature of the IFC and anyone not excited by the prospect of two island champs going at it is lying to themselves. While both of these guys were champions in the same org at the same time they did so in completely different ways. Jones prefers to take the fight to the ground to earn himself a victory while Heavyweight does all his fighting on his feet. Both fighters have won every single fight via KO or TKO so a decision is almost certainly not the way this fight will end. Jones should have the edge in this fight considering his advantage in wrestling and even larger advantage in jiu jitsu. However, if this fight remains standing Heavyweight should be able to earn himself a victory. Either way we can expect a great show as these two face off.
  13. The curse doesn't apply since I'm not the one who wrote this one : D. Not to mention we broke the curse in your last fight.
  14. Here at the King Theatre Los Angeles tonight Iron Man Fight Club brings you a 10 card MMA cage event of 3 weight classes. In partnership with IniTech Nutrition. Main Event 155lbs Klaus “The House” Chugman 15-3-0 (IFC 15-3-0) vs Gosha Lopez 7-3-0 (IFC 6-3-0) This exciting headlining matchup could go either way depending whether Chugman can get the fight to the mat where he is so dangerous. Lopez although having a decent ground game himself will not have too many opportunities to get his tactics wrong there. Manager John Stevens may have his work cut out keeping the self confident Lopez to stick to the gameplan, however he seems to have produced a really good all round fighter and I think if he plays it smart he can get the win. Prediction: Lopez Unanimous Decision. 265+lbs Japa Koniu 9-4-0 (IFC 6-3) vs Big Murha (8-2-0 (IFC 7-2) A match up of some contrast - 29 year old Japa Koniu with a decent MMA record and an up-and-coming manager of huge potential against 22 year old Big Murha guided by one of the most experienced and top-ranked managers in the game. While I’m sure we will see some stiff competition from Forfiter ElPolako’s stable in the future, Japa will be a minor obstacle in the path of bigger and better things for Murha, although expect him to put up a fight! Prediction: Big Murha 3rd Round TKO (Strikes) 205lbs Dany Crosby 13-4-0 (IFC 2-0) vs Terje “Nightmare” Warholm 8-5-1 (IFC 8-5-1) Another promising manager tonight Cope T brings his fighter Dany Crosby to The King Theatre. Despite the 2 year age gap in the favour of Crosby - Warholm, making his 15th IFC appearance and manager Winterbottom II know the fight business well and I expect them to get the win. Prediction: Terje “Nightmare” Warholm 2nd round TKO (High Kick) Eusebio “Loves Gardening” Zapata 11-6-0 (IFC 4-2-0) vs Yen “Funky” Askren 9-4-1 (IFC 0-0 Debut) I can only see this going one way despite “Funky” giving away 6 years in experience. Salty Kawa has an explosive talent in Askren (who also appears to like a spot of gardening) and I expect him to make a statement on his IFC debut. Perhaps we’ll see the rematch on a future “Gardening Tycoon”. Prediction: Yen “Funky” Askren 1st Round KO (Punch) Harry Entei 10-5-2 (IFC 3-1-0) vs Vape Diaz 6-4-0 (IFC 0-0 Debut) Harry Entei was unimpressive in his last win against average opposition and there are doubts around his clinch game considering his impressive Muai Thai ability, without this then landing one of his lethal high kicks appears to be his only chance of success. Fortunately for him his opponent tonight also doesn’t have enough in his locker to trouble Pika Choo’s number 2. Prediction: Harry Entei (Split Decision) Tony “Hibo” Hibbert 4-2-0 (IFC 0-0 Debut) vs Ethan Sheehy 4-2-1 (IFC 2-0) Two experienced managers go head to head in this exciting encounter. Both fighters are evenly matched but with very different styles, however Ethan will unwisely wear a Liverpool shirt during his ring walk to enrage Hibo, it will work, and he will soak up Sheehy’s high kicks on his huge granite chin, avoid the takedowns and win by a narrow decision. Prediction: Tony “Hibo” Hibbert Split Decision. Miki “The Viking” Viki 11-5-0 (IFC 0-0 Debut) vs Zach Assad 7-5-0 (IFC 0-0 Debut) Two IFC debutants will battle it out in this 4th 155lbs matchup. Zach Assad makes his 3rd appearance for his new manager Pedro Chang who looks to have some serious potential in the game. The Iranian Assad has some good Muai Thai skills and a granite chin but the combination of experience from manager Jeff Mma and the explosive power of “The Viking” will be too much too soon for Chang and Assad. Prediction: Miki “The Viking” Viki 1st round KO (Punch) Damien “Avalon D” OQuinn 11-5-0 (IFC 2-2) vs Duc Minh “Ram” Pham 8-4-0 (IFC 6-3-0) Standup will be the key to this fight with these 2 fairly evenly matched on the ground. Lebanese Damien OQuinn is coming off the back of a loss and he’ll suffer another nasty one here as Duc Minh Pham will possess too much power. Prediction: Duc Minh “Ram” Pham 2nd Round TKO (Strikes) Da Hee Tong 3-1-0 (IFC 0-1) vs Ture “Submarine” Torped 3-0-1 (IFC 2-0) Another fighter giving away 6 years experience is young Ture Torped who has had a good start to his IFC career and is unbeaten in his 4 fights. Da Hee Tong has had a good start to his MMA career too and this could be a potential banana skin for “Submarine” but with the right tactics he can emerge. Prediction: Ture “Submarine” Torped 3rd Round TKO (Strikes) Anthony “The Animal” Griffith 8-3-0 (IFC 1-0-0) vs Jack Dawson 7-6-0 (IFC 7-6-0) In the 2nd 265+ lbs fight of the evening Anthony “The Animal” Griffith faces off against Jack Dawson, however at a huge half-metre shorter and 5lbs heavier it’s Dawson who looks the most beastly. Griffith can surely find a way to beat this monstrousity! Prediction: Anthony “The Animal” Griffith 2nd Round TKO

Rankings will typically be updated at the end of each week** A lot of people have been going inactive lately, so if you go missing for 15 days or more without saying anything I will be removing you from the top 15 unless you contact me beforehand. It makes matchmaking very difficult when you don’t know when a person will come back and this behavior is not something that should be allowed in those within the power rankings.

  17. IFC 55 Mumu vs Thomas (June 16th, 2018 - King Theatre - Los Angeles) Prelims Fight 1 - Middleweight Division (0-0, 214 lbs) Jab Brown VS (4-9, 185 lbs) Lord “God of Destruction” Beerus Our first fight of the evening is the first fight of a young man’s career as Brown tries to make his first appearance in the octagon a good one as he takes on the struggling Beerus. Little is known about the 20 year old Swedish fighter, but he looks to be a good wrestler as well as jiu jitsu artist and as such we should probably expect him to rely on this to get the victory. Beerus on the other side of the octagon only has jiu jitsu to his name and due to this has had very poor results since joining the IFC. Fight 2 - Lightweight Division (9-10, 153 lbs) Crack Head “Roks” VS (5-14, 145 lbs) Jason Poller Following up our first night of the evening is Roks versus Poller where two struggling fighters will try to maintain what little hype they have. Roks’ early career started out pretty well, but after 3 straight wins in the IFC he only managed to win 1 of his next 7 fights resulting in the 9-10 record he has now. Opposite him, we have Poller who joined the IFC on a slump and has still not yet found his way out of the slump, with 7 straight losses. The difference maker in this fight may end up being the fact that Head has managed to keep his morale up while Poller’s morale has tanked. Undercard Fight 3 - Middleweight Division #11(7-7, 185 lbs) Sascha Koniezko VS (9-10, 210 lbs) Chara Zaad You know its going to be a great night when two fighters of this caliber meet in the opening fight of the undercard. Koniezko has gradually climbed his way up to his current position in the 11th ranking through many tough fights and was even higher until he lost to Wilder in his last fight. Going up against him we have Zaad, a fighter who hasn’t done great as of late, but is still a very very good boxer and will be excited to fight someone other than Boretti. Both of these fighters are very evently matched with Koniezko coming in with a slight advantage in jiu jitsu and muay thai. However, Zaad’s advantage in boxing may prove to be too much for Koniezko and we could see a new name on our top 15 after this week. Fight 4 - Lightweight Division (10-4, 130 lbs) Gunter “Meat Hooks” Schultz VS (7-7, 142 lbs) Jonathan “Money Shot” Davis While we don’t get two fights with top 15 fighters in a row we do get the next best thing in Schultz who made it to the final 10 seconds of his last fight against Peidis which would have led to him being in the top 15 if he had won. Going up against him is a fighter who has been doing well recently, winning three straight fights, although two were via decision. This will be a fight between two contrasting styles as Schultz attempts takedown after takedown to try and get to the ground while Davis fights solely on his feet, and looks lost off of his back. In his last fight Schultz took down his opponent only twice in 38 attempts, but seeing as this time he is going up against an inferior wrestler he should have the advantage coming into the fight. Fight 5 - Lightweight Division #14(13-8, 163 lbs) Mike “The Hammer” Van Rijn VS (9-4, 147 lbs) Jan “Champion” Jedrzejczyk With another lightweight division fight we have Van Rijn, newly risen to the top 15 taking on Jedrzejczyk who will be making his IFC debut in this fight. Van Rijn has now won two straight fights with his most recent win over Touchard being the one that put him into the rankings. He will want to continue winning and see if he can’t make a push for the higher rankings. Opposite him Jedrzejczyk who only recently came over to the IFC will be looking to prove himself with a big win in his first fight in the IFC. He has had a relatively good career so far yielding a 9-4 record and will hope to continue his success from the previous organizations he was involved with. Both fighters in this contest are very skilled in the clinch, but Van Rijn is a much better wrestler, while Jedrzejczyk is the better boxer and jiu jitsu grappler. In order to win Van Rijn will have to try out different things and see what he can get to work, or risk losing his position as the 14th seed in the lightweight division. Fight 6 - Lightweight Division #7(8-3, 164 lbs) “The Late Great” Feihck Tiote VS #4(8-4, 163 lbs) “Dark and Light” Soul Shadow For our last fight of the undercard we end it with a bang as the 7th ranked Tiote takes on 4th ranked Shadow in a clash of two of the strongest fighters in the lightweight division. Tiote has been in the IFC for four contests now winning 3 of the 4, with the most recent two coming by decision against fighters in the rankings one of which (Lopez) was the second ranked fighter before being defeated. Now Tiote finds himself in a position to possibly earn himself a spot in the top 5 of arguably the toughest division in the IFC. Trying to maintain his position in the top 5 is Shadow whose only loss in his last 6 fights came against the now champion Mumu. He has made his way to the top 5 without beating any fighter in the rankings so he will need to prove himself in this fight. This fight will be very interesting to watch as Shadow looks to be very slightly better on his feet while Tiote relies largely on his wrestling to get the victories. Tiote is definitely the superior wrestler, but Shadow is no stranger to fighting on the ground, having two submission victories to his name. This dichotomy will be key in determining who comes out on top in this fight with myself believing Tiote has the slight advantage entering the fight. However, you can’t count a fighter out and Shadow will have a chance at proving himself suited to a top 5 position. Main Card Fight 7 - Heavyweight Division (10-6, 250 lbs) James “Clubber” Lang VS (9-4, 230 lbs) Fanta Coco Opening our main card are two fighters making their IFC debut with Lang coming from the TGC and Coco coming from TBD. Lang not only finds himself in a new organization, but under new management as well. This former champion is extremely comfortable in the main card having headlined in 7 fights already in his career. Coco who is also a former champion in his old organization has headlined a few fights himself and should match up well against Lang. This fight will be a determining factor in which new fighter will be on top and which will be considered as only the second best joining fighter. With so much pride on the line we can expect a very exciting fight, with both fighters preferring to fight standing this should add even more to the excitement of the bout. Lang is the superior boxer, but is worse at muay thai. However, his jiu jitsu, despite not being his usual win condition could end up being a very powerful tool that could help yield a victory for Lang. Due to his jiu jitsu I give the slight advantage to Lang, but either way we get to look forward to a great fight and hopefully many more to come as these two new fighters make their way in the IFC. Fight 8 - Middleweight Division #4(13-8, 180 lbs) Alexander Porto VS (6-3, 196 lbs) Ed “4 tds” ONeill Just as in the previous fight we have a new fighter to the organization coming over from TBD to try and make his name in the IFC. Going up against him is Alexander Porto who has gone an impressive 5-2 since joining the IFC, gradually making his way up to his current position in the 4th spot of the rankings. With 4 fights of the night Porto is no stranger to difficult fights and we can expect this experience to play a factor in yet another fight that looks close. ONeill had large success in TBD with a 5-3 record and a decent position in the 185 lb division. Now in the IFC he gets a chance to once again prove himself a top tier fighter and boy does he get to do it with a bang, going up against the 4th ranked fighter right off the bat. Porto will need to rely very heavily on his superior muay thai to come away with the win. His opponent holds the advantage in every other aspect and as such he will have to use smart game planning and other intangibles if he hopes to remain in the top 5 of the middleweight division. Co-Main Event - Heavyweight Division #4(10-1, 275 lbs) Iain “The CN” Tower VS #8(11-6, 230 lbs) Schmorgen Biscuit As strange as it feels to say, for our co main event of the evening we have Iain Tower taking on Schmorgen Biscuit. It is very strange to be saying Tower’s name outside of the main event. He has been the headliner in his last 4 fights, with all being title fights. However, his upset at Heavyweight’s hands has resulted in the former champion fighting second to last. Going up against the ex champion is Biscuit. Biscuit has done well for himself in the heavyweight division beating couture and Bell, but in his last fight he lost to another ex champion Murha. Tower is the obvious favorite coming in considering the fact that Biscuit lost to Murha, who is one of the people Tower defended his title belt against. However, these fighters are very similarly skilled with Tower being the superior muay thai fighter and Biscuit being the superior wrestling. If this fight goes to the ground, as it probably will, if Biscuit can avoid Tower’s submission attempts he definitely has a chance of earning himself an upset victory. Main Event - IFC Lightweight Championship Title Fight Champion(9-1, 169 lbs) Abdel “Fur Coat” Mumu VS #2(8-3, 170 lbs) Jax “Punch” Thomas Finally we get to our main event of the evening which has the added bonus of being a title fight. Abdel Mumu gets to try his first title defense against the surging Thomas who got to the #2 ranking in only two fights with the IFC. Despite just obtaining the title Mumu has a lot of experience as champion from his previous organization and actually has 5 title fight victories to his name, something only a few fighters can claim in the IFC. He is a very diverse fighter who has won via knockout and submission multiple times. Thomas on the other hand is a very straightforward fighter looking to knock his opponent out in whatever way possible. One would think that a fighter like Thomas who fights almost solely on his feet would be a poor wrestler, but in fact Thomas is the better wrestler of the two fighters. The only difference in these two fighters primary skills are muay thai in which Mumu has the advantage and wrestling where Thomas has the advantage. It is crazy to see a title fight where two people with only two fights in an organization duke it out over the belt. I give the advantage to Mumu, but no matter how solid his chin is, when pitted against Thomas’ power you can never expect an easy fight.
  18. IFC MW 31 Choo VS Brawler (June 13th, 2018 - King Theatre - Los Angeles Prelims Fight 1 - Middleweight Division (2-6, 184 lbs) Hennig Muller VS (2-6, 210 lbs) “Coldblood” Ed Killer Muller and Killer look to start out our night with a bang, entering the bout with the same record. Muller has made his career fighting from the clinch and you can expect him to do so in this fight once again. Killer’s career has been spent trying to use his boxing to climb the rankings, but has been mostly unsuccessful due to a lack of any wrestling, and ok ay jiu jitsu. This fight will largely rely on how well Muller can do in the clinch versus Killer’s boxing. Fight 2 - Middleweight Division (2-1, 190 lbs) Hallis “The Captain” Mollen VS (3-2, 185 lbs) Wrecking Ball In our second fight of the prelims Mollen meets Ball as two of the strongest fighters below the middle of the current middleweight division rankings. Mollen’s win over Diaz proved that he is a top talent in the division and his current ranking is not indicative of his actual skill. Ball has lost to any of the upper tier fighters he has come against, losing to both Average and Zaad. Both of these fighters have similar technique, but Mollen has superior boxing and a superior track record, specifically his victory over Diaz. Undercard Fight 3 - Middleweight Division (4-7, 210 lbs) Joe “The Alternate” Average VS (7-8, 210 lbs) Dirk “13in” Diggler Starting off our undercard right we have Average going up against IFC newcomer Diggler in what should prove to be a very close fight. Average has lost two straight fights, both against up and comers in the middleweight division. Diggler on the other hand is making his IFC debut after having a decent run in 4 different organizations amassing a 7-8 record, mainly through the use of remarkable wrestling and a brown belt in jiu jitsu. Average should have the advantage standing, coming in with superior boxing and equivalent muay thai. However, on the ground both of these fighters are matched very evenly with no one being able to guess as to who would come out on top if they fought on the ground. Average should be the advantaged fighter coming in, but if this fight goes to the ground its nigh on impossible to say who will come away with the win so don’t think Diggler is guaranteed to lose. Fight 4 - Middleweight Division (8-10, 205 lbs) “Corpse Making Cowboy” Don Joe VS (4-3, 220 lbs) General Snus Our fourth fight also in the middleweight division pits The veteran Joe against the 20 year old Snus. Joe has had an extremely poor run of late as he is now on an 8 fight losing streak resulting in him being dropped by his manager for a second time. This will be his second fight under the new management and will be another chance for the veteran to try and halt his tumble in the rankings. Snus made his IFC debut in his last fight, managing to beat one of the IFC’s more impressive wrestlers in Dalton with a third round knock out. Snus has a chance to beat one of the oldest fighters in the IFC and really launch his career within the organization even further. Joe looks to be the superior boxer, but Snus has the advantage in both jiu jitsu and wrestling. It will be interesting seeing whether or not Snus continues to use stand up to win his fights or switches to a wrestling heavy strategy against Joe. Fight 5 - Lightweight Division (11-14, 162 lbs) Joao Vitor Xavier VS (5-6, 142 lbs) “I Weigh” One Fortytwo In our first non middleweight fight of the evening, the struggling Xavier takes on Fortytwo. Xavier has lost 4 of his last 5 fights, and at 29 many are wondering how much longer before he retires. However, he is still a tough opponent to face and Fortytwo will have to be careful. Fortytwo has actually won two straight fights now, beating Aukhadov and Head with a knockout in each fight. Fortytwo has definitely benefited from the divisional split, going 3-1 since joining the lightweight division and rising from the bottom of the rankings to the middle of the pack now. This fight will be a showcase of the two prevalent striking styles in the mma world with Xavier and his boxing going up against Fortytwo’s muay thai in a no holds barred fight. Each fighter wants a win desperately as a loss means slipping into the bottom half of the rankings. Fortytwo should hold the advantage coming in with Xavier struggling as of late as well as the fact he has struggled against muay thai fighters in the past. Fight 6 - Lightweight Division (15-8, 162 lbs) Lazy Bastard VS (1-2, 157 lbs) Randall “Black” Jackson In our final fight of the undercard Bastard versus Jackson will end it with a fight I have been looking forward to. Bastard was struggling at the end of his run in the KOFC, but he is a very skilled fighter and his record shows it. This will be his debut fight in the IFC and he hopes to be able to start anew and turn around his struggles in a big way, defeating another promising young fighter. Jackson won his debut fight against fellow newcomer Mcdonald in a fight that each fighter was trying to prove himself in his new organization. Now Jackson gets to fight another man making his debut with the chance of further cementing his name as one of the best new fighters to the IFC. Both of these men have a lot to prove in this fight as Bastard wants to end his previous slump and Jackson wants to prove that he deserves a chance against the high tier talent in the highly competitive IFC lightweight division. This fight will largely hinge upon whether or not Jackson can take this fight to the ground against Bastard’s superb wrestling skills. If he can do so he should be the clear favorite and given the fact he has superior wrestling I think he holds the edge coming in. Main Card Fight 7 - Heavyweight Division #13(8-9, 240 lbs) Taz “Crash” Bandichoo VS (11-6, 233 lbs) Randall “Natural” Couture Starting off both our main card and ranked fighters the 13th ranked Bandichoo takes on unranked, but equally impressive Couture. While Bandichoo finds himself in the top 15, he has struggled against other fighters within those rankings and has 0 wins against other fighters within the rankings. Due to this fact his placement in the rankings is very tenuous and he is at risk of dropping out of the top 15 at any moment. Trying to unseat him is Couture who has done very well for himself against fighters outside of the rankings, but similar to his opponent, he has yet to defeat someone with those rankings either. This match will take place with the winner finding his way onto the rankings and the loser finding himself on the outside looking in. Bandichoo has struggled due to his lack of a ground game, with very subpar wrestling and just as bad jiu jitsu. This fact has resulted in him doing well against other strikers, but not managing to find victories against anyone with good wrestling. While Couture has much better wrestling than his opponent, he has shown that his wrestling is more a skill he produced in order to prevent other wrestlers from abusing him, as opposed to a skill he himself uses to dominate. As such this fight will most likely be a striking showcase, within which Bandichoo has shined so far and should continue to considering his advantage in both boxing and muay thai. Fight 8 - Heavyweight Division #9(10-4, 275 lbs) Vladimir “The Horizontal” Impaler VS (5-6, 300 lbs) “The Phenomenal” Orgasmic Bliss Our eighth fight of the evening plays host to our first top 10 fighter of the night as ninth ranked Impaler takes on Bliss. Impaler was one victory away from a title fight, but found himself losing to Rasputin in a fight he was the clear favorite via decision. Since then he lost to Tchusuk then beating Lemieux resulting in a ninth seed where before he was all the way in the second position in the rankings. Bliss has never found himself in the rankings, but he has been slowly, but surely rising up the ladder, winning 1 then losing 1, but gradually stepping up in competition with each fight. His most recent win over Couture was especially impressive as both fighters are two of the best not within the top 15, a win here would allow Bliss to break his string of winning then losing as well as putting him in the top 15. Impaler is the heavy favorite coming into this fight having superior wrestling and much better striking. If Bliss wants a victory he will be forced to get this fight to the ground against a superior wrestler where he can abuse his opponent’s inferior jiu jitsu. While it seems like a long shot, it is no more of a long shot than Rasputin’s chacnes of defeating Impaler so do not count him out. Co-Main Event - Lightweight Division #10(12-7, 145 lbs) Mister Island VS #11(8-4, 165 lbs) Tzwrtzos Peidis In our Co-Main Event of the evening we have a rematch from February as the 10th ranked Island tries to prevent 11th ranked Peidis from getting revenge for his earlier defeat at Island’s hands. In their first fight Peidis looked strong, dominating Island with his striking, however Island kept trying for takedown attempts and finally succeeded on his 7th attempt, eventually using his black belt to get the easy submission win. Since then Island went straight to the top earning a title fight in 2 more fights, but slipped up, lost both the title fight and then another fight, while Peidis struggled with 2 more straight losses until coming into this fight with 2 straight victories. As seen in their first fight This fight will completely depend on whether or not Peidis can stuff Island’s takedown attempts. Of course Island is the favorite coming in considering the result of their first fight, but Peidis showed that, standing he has the skills to control the fight, so if he can keep his feet he should be able to earn himself a huge victory. Main Event - Middleweight Division #1(14-2, 191 lbs) Mew Choo VS #3(13-5, 190 lbs) Brooklyn Brawler Finally in our main event of the evening the legend himself 1st ranked hall of famer Mew Choo takes on the 3rd ranked and possible future hall of famer Brooklyn Brawler. Choo is a hall of famer for obvious reasons as a man with 6 title defenses as the champion of an open weight division fighting men of all shapes and sizes and still managing to win against almost all of them. To date he has only lost to Wilder and recent contender Light Heavyweight. He has been at the top of the rankings playing gatekeeper since the divisional split, but has not yet managed to find his way into another title fight as of yet. However, a victory here almost assures he will be the next challenger. Taking on the legend is another legend in Brawler. Brawler is probably the strongest fighter in the IFC to never have a belt to his name. He has lost title fights against Choo and Divac, but has not managed a victory in a title fight as of yet. A win here would give him another crack at the belt, but standing in his way is a man who has already defeated him previously and should be a very difficult task for Brawler to take on once again. The last time these two fighters met Choo came in with an undefeated 10-0 record while Brawler was an almost as impressive 8-2. Contrary to expectations, however the fight lasted only 1:14 before Choo managed to drop guard after Brawler clinched him and 3 submission attempts later Choo locked in the guillotine from the bottom resulting in Brawler tapping. Coming into the rematch the fighters are very similar stylistically to where they were at in the first fight and we can expect a similar match up, but with each fighter learning and advancing their skills and physical training, this fight could go vastly different from the original fight.

Rankings will typically be updated at the end of each week** We had a large influx of new fighters recently so expect the rankings to be shaken up soon. However, I will not be putting any fighter who hasn’t yet fought in the IFC on the power rankings.
  20. IFC 54 Heavyweight vs Rasputin (June 9th, 2018 - King Theatre - Los Angeles) Prelims Fight 1 - Middleweight Division (2-1, 190 lbs) Crusadius “Akhillius” Infidellus VS (2-1, 188 lbs) Virgulino Ferreira Da Silva “Lampiao” For our first fight of the evening we have two fighters coming off of the first losses of their respective careers as Infidellus takes on Da Silva. Infidellus has showed that his striking is deadly in each of his fights and his climb into the power rankings looked inevitable, however Kirby showed him that he was only human with a devastating head kick. Lining up across from the striker we have another striker who has even fought in a kt event. Da Silva had his most recent fight in the bag, winning both of the first two rounds in dominating fashion, but unfortunately in the third round his opponent caught him with a devastating uppercut and that was all she wrote for the promising young fighter. This fight should an insane showcase of striker versus striker as both men try to recover from their demoralizing losses in their last fights. Fight 2 - Lightweight Division (3-1, 155 lbs) Nando Vasquez VS (1-1, 145 lbs) Jack McDonald Vasquez versus McDonald is not a fight one expects to ever see happen in the prelims. Both of these fighters are amazingly skilled in all aspects. Vasquez has looked extremely powerful standing despite having a TWGC belt to his name. He has had 1st round finishes in every fight in the mma scene with all ending in knockout including his loss in his last fight against Aleksy. His opponent is equally impressive with a black belt in jiu jitsu, sensational wrestling as well as being no slouch on his feet either. While his debut in the IFC against ended with him on the losing side of a decision, great things can still be expected of this 22 year old. Undercard Fight 3 - Lightweight Division (7-3, 152 lbs) Sirimongkol Niyotrong VS (6-13, 160 lbs) Dave “Tightass” Brooksbank Now in our first bout of the undercard Niyotrong meets the struggling Brooksbank in the octagon. Niyotrong has spent his entire fighting career in the IFC and has been relatively successful within the organization. He started off rough, but followed up his losing streak with a winning streak which has recently turned into a win one lose one trend as is so often the case in fighters right on the cusp of the top 15. Brooksbank looked decent in the early years of his career, but has not won a fight since November, losing 8 straight fights that although were against good opponents, do not bode well for this fighter’s future. This fight will be almost completely dependent on whether or not Niyotrong can keep his feet in the clinch against Brooksbank’s jiu jitsu. Brooksbank’s brown belt may prove too much for Niyotrong, but if he can keep his feet in the clinch he should get the better of the standing game. Unfortunately due to Brooksbank’s better boxing and jiu jitsu I think he will come away with the win after pulling guard as Niyotrong can’t stay at a distance, but closing may just prove his undoing as well. Fight 4 - Middleweight Division (4-3, 192 lbs) Hanny “The Fist” Sledgehammer VS (8-9, 176 lbs) Dex “The Assassin” Arial Sledgehammer against Arial should be an amazing fight between two fighters clawing at the ankles of those in the rankings. Sledgehammer beat Lora who just fell out of the top 15 in his last fight and many fans have been clamoring over the fact he didn’t take Lora’s spot in the rankings. A win here against Arial could go even further in announcing to the world that Sledgehammer deserves a spot in the top 15. Arial is coming off of two straight losses that dashed his hopes of making a grab at the rankings, but he is still a very good fighter and at 23 he has much to look forward to in his career. A win against a surging fighter like Sledgehammer could go far in turning his trajectory back around. Sledgehammer has the slight advantage standing, but with Arial’s wrestling its almost a guarantee this fight will end up on the ground if that’s where Arial choosing to take the fight. Given the fact they have equivalent jiu jitsu Arial should be the man with the advantage given the fact he will be the one on top in control. Fight 5 - Heavyweight Division (5-4, 286 lbs) Neville Southall VS (9-11, 264 lbs) Ricky “Big Tex” Hughes In our fifth fight of the evening we get the rematch between Southall and Hughes as Hughes looks for revenge after a very punishing defeat at the “hand” of Southall’s kicks as he landed numerous leg kicks and ultimately winning with an impressive head kick knockout that would normally have been the knockout of the night. Southall followed up his victory over Hughes with a loss to Snapp in a disappointing first round knockout to a superman punch. Hughes as well as Southall lost in his following fight, but Hughes has had a much rougher run as of late, finding himself on a 5 fight losing streak, a situation no 29 year old fighter wants to find himself in. Given the result of the first fight Southall is the favorite coming in, but Hughes should be desperate at this point in his career and backing someone into a corner is the best way to see what he truly has lying under the surface. Fight 6 - Heavyweight Division (7-4, 298 lbs) Bob “The Feast” Snapp VS (6-2, 270 lbs) Francisco “The Count” Babyara Interestingly enough, following the fifth fight of the evening we have the two fighters who defeated those in the previous fight duking it out as Snapp takes on Babyara. Snapp has gone 1-1 since joining the IFC, but his only loss came against the currently 3rd ranked fighter Turkey. When Snapp fights you know exactly what your going to get; a knockout with all 11 of his fights ending in knockout and only 1 of them (his fight against Turkey) going passed the first round. Trying to weather the storm that is Snapp we have Babyara who has now gone 5-0 since joining the IFC who also has had all eight of his fights end in a knockout. In a fight where the fighters have a combined 19 fights and all of them ending via knockout we can expect a highly explosive match where you don’t want to blink, because you just might miss the ending of the fight. Despite Babyara’s undefeated run in the IFC I have to give the edge to Snapp in this one considering the fact he has gone up against stiffer competition and is the more experienced fighter. Main Card Fight 7 - Heavyweight Division #10(11-10, 281 lbs) “Red Ribbon Armys” Android Seventeen VS #2(12-4, 270 lbs) Naiki “The Drunken Finnish Demon” Nekele We start off our main card with a doozy of a fight with our 10th ranked fighter Seventeen taking on the second ranked Nekele. This will be Seventeen’s last fight in the IFC before taking a short hiatus to challenge himself in another organization for a short stint. If you don’t know who Seventeen is then you just plain haven’t been watching the main cards for the past 6 months, because this fighter has been in the upper echelons of the heavyweight division for a while now. His biggest victory came over Bell, but he has also fought both of the men in our title fight this evening. Coming up against him we have the man who could just be the next challenger for the belt after this evening if he can pull of the victory. Nekele has now won 5 straight fights almost all of which came against upper tier fighters if not top 15 fighters. A win here almost assuredly gives him the #1 challenger spot and should provide extra motivation to the man. In a fight where one man wants to make sure and leave a lasting impression before his short departure takes on a man fishing for a title spot we can expect a very contentious match. Seventeen has made it a habit of winning when i pick him to lose and losing when I pick him to win, and this will be the first fight in a while where I’m picking him to lose. Nekele will have to be on his A game to break the curse that Seventeen has cast on my picks when he is involved. Fight 8 - Middleweight Division #4(10-3, 220 lbs) Ribociclib “CDK4/6” Kisqali VS #11(10-2, 198 lbs) Roman “The Pain Train” Divac Our eighth fight of the evening looks poised to be yet another amazing fight as the former champion fallen on hard times Divac takes on the impressive youngster fresh off a loss Kisqali. Kisqali’s loss against Choo was definitely disappointing for the talented Kisqali, but it did little to lower the opinion the public had for the fighter. Still retaining the 4th ranking he has beaten both Wilder and Ubereem, proving that he belongs in the top 5 by almost anyone’s measure. Facing him will be Divac who still holds his belt from Sidney FC and was riding high with the IFC middleweight division belt as well. Unfortunately his loss to Murhaa in a rare 5 round decision was a clear loss for him. He then followed up this loss with yet another loss to Fischer in a first round knockout that had many reeling. A loss here could lead to a shocking result of Divac reaching either the bottom of the rankings or dropping out altogether, despite being a champion recently. This fight will be a fun one to watch as Kisqali is the superior boxer and jiu jitsu artist while Divac is the better fighter in the clinch and a better wrestler as well. With each of them having an advantage in two aspects of the game its anyone’s guess as to who will walk away with the win. However, Kisqali’s advantage in jiu jitsu has direct effects on both of the skills Divac has the advantage in and as such I have to give him the advantage going in. Co-Main Event - Lightweight Division (19-5, 165 lbs) Rokuya “Monkeymagic” Date VS #10(11-9, 152 lbs) Evgeni Lomachenko In our co-main event of the evening the highly hyped fighter from the KOFC makes his IFC debut against the 10th ranked Lomachenko. Date came off the island as the season 7 winner of the 155lb division and continued to win even after joining the KOFC. He is now on an 11 even fight win streak and 3 of the fighters he defeated during this streak are currently in the IFC. He looks to start off his IFC career with a bang by defeating a current ranker and possibly putting his own name in the top 15. However, Lomachenko will be doing everything within his power to avoid this as he has fought tooth and nail to get to his current position in the rankings. In his last 6 fights the only fighters he has lost to are currently top 5 in the division so his position in the 10th spot is no accident. Date has made his career through solid striking, avoiding takedowns and getting himself either a knockout victory or a decision victory. However, all 5 of his losses came via submission meaning this may be a hole in his game that can be exploited. Lomachenko will be working hard to exploit this weakness and show that the IFC lightweight division is not a place where someone with weak jiu jitsu can climb. Unfortunately to do this Lomachenko will have to take Date down, something I doubt he will be up to considering Date’s superior wrestling. This fact should give Date the advantage coming in. Main Event - IFC Heavyweight Division Championship Title Fight Champion(22-3, 280 lbs) Super “Dominator” Heavyweight VS #1(19-3, 241 lbs) Grigori “The Monk” Rasputin Finally for our main event of the evening we have the undisputed IFC heavyweight champion Super Heavyweight taking on the 1st ranked Grigori Rasputin. Heavyweight is currently the 2nd ranked super heavyweight fighter in the world, and 54th ranked p4p fighter. He joined the IFC after a very successful run on the island, winning the championship and joining the organization after the season ended. He started off with a victory, but then followed that victory up with a loss in his title fight against Tower. Many thought that was the beginning of a downward spiral for the 29 year old fighter, but he proved everyone wrong as he won four straight fights to earn his way back to a rematch against Tower. This time he was up to the task and found himself on the winning end of the fight. Now for the first time he enters the octagon as the champion (of this organization) and we will get to see if his experience as a champion on the island translates to the main land as he tries his first title defense. Fighting Heavyweight we have Grigori Rasputin who has shocked many with his climb to the #1 contender spot. When he came to the IFC following the end of the island season 7 no one had high expectations for the fighter who lost in the 4th round and this assumption seemed to prove correct as he lost his debut fight to Bell. However, this ended up being his only loss in the organization as he managed to win three straight fights over top rankers until finally getting to his current position as the #1 challenger. He has been the underdog in almost every single one of his fights, but this fact has seemed not to phase him as he wins fight after fight. Just as in his previous fights, Rasputin is the clear underdog coming in as someone who lost in the 4th round on the island taking on the man who won the same division. Rasputin’s advantage in muay thai is the clear win condition for the fighter and if he can close on Heavyweight we could find ourself crowning a new heavyweight champion for the second month in a row.
