  1. Is the limit £250 per bet? That's the most I've seen. Also what about real life events, is it only MMA or can you add all kinds of sports?
  2. As good as Cain's striking is I don't see how he can finish Lesnar on his feet when the power of Carwin didn't. As good as Cain's wrestling is I don't see him being able to stop Brock taking him down. The big plus for Cain is his cardio which is probably the best in the heavyweight division, although as much as people talk about it, he's only ever gone 3 rounds once in his career, the rest of the time he's not needed too and while we can assume he has great cardio based on what we've seen who really knows if he can push as strong for 5 rounds as he can for 2 or 3. Lesnar is also no slouch, although Herring might not be a top 10 ranked HW he still had no problems going strong for 3 rounds against him and that was apparantley when he was only around 60-80% due to his unknown illness at the time. It could turn out that Brock in fact has the superior cardio just to throw another tool into his arsenal. But assuming Cain is the one with the better cardio it'll be a combination of that along with his striking and sprawls which give him a chance in this fight. If he can wear Brock down, perhaps even get on top of him via a takedown or jumping on top after a knockdown then perhaps he'll look to show more control than Carwin and work on tiring him out rather than punching him out. As much as we saw Brock's ability to defend strikes from the bottom and take a punch we never really got to see if he could get off up his back with a big guy on top of him. That only really happened when Carwin was exhausted and more or less let him get up. If he can do that for a round or two then he might find it a lot easier to defend the takedowns against a worn out Lesnar and then pick him apart on his feet. I still have to pick Lesnar though as much as I can make a case for Cain winning, as I said I can't see Velasquez being able to prevent the takedown, especially early on and then what do you do when that beast is on top of you pounding your face in and showing an ever improving ground game with jui jitsu seemingly to go with it. Some very interesting fights coming up in the future months that's for sure.
  3. All I can say is that Steel Penn have been good to me since I joined. I guess Mr White saw one of my first posts in here asking for a little noob help and then contacted me about joining his alliance. (There were two others who also offered help so thanks for that, I haven't forgotten.) Since I joined Steel Penn, Mr White firstly helped me out by loaning me some starting cash to get on my feet, he then helped me out with sponsorship for all of my fighters and also sent some supplements my way. (Which to be honest seem to be working as well as any other supplements I've bought, but I guess it's fair to say it's a little early to tell.) He's also offered help with financing a business should I want one to set up, something that other Steel Penn members have also said they'd help others out with. After that other members of Steel Penn have helped me out in terms of finding fight contracts and then of course via our private section of the Alliance there has been all sorts of help with regards to building fighters, matchup advice, best companies to use etc etc. I can't comment on whatever happened with the nutrition store before I was here but all I can say is that since I joined, (Which coincidentally seems to be about the same time Mr White took it over) he has taken a lot of steps to ensure it's a good company and is selling what it advertises. Any wrongs that it made in the past seem to either have been put right or are well on there way to doing so. I can only really speak about my own experiences with him and so far he's only done right by me. We know that Steel Penn is far from being the greatest alliance in the game just yet but we certainly seem to be one of the most unfied and just hope to climb up the ranks step by step. I believe right now there are only 4 places left in the alliance so I would strongly urge anyone who is considering joining to get in touch as soon as possible. Some of you may well have legitimate issues with Mr White from long before my time here but it does seem that some have made assumptions over a few posts over the forum. Most of us enjoy a bit of trash talk and banter in the forums for a bit of fun, it doesn't mean that they are complete assholes. I myself have already chipped in with little comments to defend the alliance but they're all good natured and are just supporting the alliance I'm a member of, they're not designed to wind people up or rub people the wrong way. We can all be guilty sometimes of making false assumptions, sometimes it's worth just having a chat to them to clear the air and then if your grievance is still there afterwards then perhaps you were right all along, most times though I'm sure you'll find that were just a bunch of guys trying to get our alliance moving forward and having a bit of fun and banter along the way. The only thing Mr White asked of me when I joined the alliance is not to forget where I started when I became succesful, which to me is what an alliance should all be about.
  4. ! - For anyone that didn't see it a few months back Dana discussed his thoughts on John coming back to the UFC at UFC 104, said it was purely down to athletic commisions although he wasn't on best terms with John. Discussion starts around the 7.15 mark. I'm pretty sure John McCarthy said a few things about the UFC that Dana didn't like when they parted ways but can't recall the details right now. I'd like to see him back in the UFC though, it just isn't the same without Big John!
  5. The only girl going wild in here is you. I'm nobody's lapdog, if someone helps me I simply return the favour.
  6. Well I guess only time will really answer that one, but judging from the initial interest I'd say it's far from being a failure. Doors will be closed soon enough.
  7. If Velasquez can somehow beat Brock and Mir beats Nog then the fight could happen, otherwise this fight is a long way down the line, if Brock keeps winning then Mir will need to go on a rampage to get close to a shot which I can't see him doing. In my eyes Lesnar needs to start losing for the fight to happen, Mir is a decent matchup for anybody but with the HW division getting stronger I don't think he'll get enough back to back wins to be in contention for a shot. Velasquez, Carwin and Dos Santos will likely stay ahead of him for sometime unless he does something special. It's always a good money fight though for the UFC to put on if Lesnar does start to lose and Mir picks up a couple of wins, just can't see it happening for the title anytime soon.

The power of this alliance is reflected in the fighters we make, the businesses we run, and the common goal to beat some ass. Why else would you want to join Steel Penn? Well below is a little info on the founder of Steel Penn and some of our top managers currently fighting under the Steel Penn banner. * 'The Godfather' Mr. White - Mr White really needs no introductions as the life and soul of the Steel Penn Alliance. A true veteran with over 100 fights to his name Mr White has amassed a record of 74-31-0 (2 NC's) with over 80% of his win's not going down to the scorecard. This exciting attitude and his sheer will to win has crossed over well into his nutrition store, Steel Penn nutrition which is currently one of the most hyped stores in the world, helping to train many champions over the last few months. Being a highly ranked manager and running a succesful store would be enough for some people, but Mr White isn't just your normal person, he then went on to form the Steel Penn Alliance which has quickly become one of the most talked about alliances in all of MMA. Mr White's goal for the Steel Penn Alliance? ............. When asked he simply replies with the same two word response, 'World Domination'.[/i 1. Eric Murphy - The topdog of Steel Penn, boasting an impressive 52-11-0 (1NC) record. Eric sure knows how to train a fighter not only to win but also to win in style, over 70% of Eric's fights don't go down to the judges, this aggressive nature has Eric firmly tipped for the top.If that wasn't enough Eric is also the proud owner of Total Destruction Combat (TDC) which is currently the number 1 ranked organisation in Hilo and number 5 in the world featuring several fighters currently ranked in the top 100. 2. Miguel Farrell - The newest member of the Steel Penn Alliance is none other than Miguel Farrell, a serious veteran just one win away from 100 victories. Miguel comes to the SPA with an impressive record of 99-38-0 (1NC) and is looking to take the SPA forward. Not content to just train champions and fighters competing in the higher echeclons of the sport, Miguel is also the owner of O'Brannigan's Fightwear, regarded as one of the best clothing store's in Hilo. 3. Lance Edwards - In the 9 short months that Lance has been in the sport of MMA he's racked up nearly 80 wins with an impressive 46 of those coming by way of (T)KO, one lapse of concentration against a guy prepared by Lance and you'll be on your back counting stars. Lance has an impressive overal record of 79-21-0 and is a real force to be reckoned with in the world of MMA. Lance is also the owner of the one of the best gym's not only in New York but the world. With 12 elite coaches and counting is there a better place for your fighter to train than Dropset Dojo: Striking? 4. Warren Peace - Despite only being in the sport for less than 6 months Warren has exploded onto the MMA scene featuring in the top 10 overall rankings for a Rookie and also earning the number 1 rookie ranking spot for New York earning an impressive 55-15-0 (1 NC) record along the way. Warren also owns the impressive nutritional store Stardust Cosmic Creations which has helped to produce many a champion and has some of the best deals right now in the whole of New York. 5. Joe Smokem - Smokem by name, Smokem by nature Joe's fighters have an excellent combined record of 43-13-0 with over half of those wins coming by way of (T)KO. Pause for breath against this guy and you're going to get smoked! Also the owner of the Steel Penn Private gym based in Hilo Joe is helping to evolve some of Steel Penn's most talented fighters with the help of their 11 elite coaches covering 15 areas to the elite standard. 6. Craig Brophy - The fiery and full of heart Irishman seems to have passed on that trait to his fighters as they have amassed an excellent overall record of 41-12 with over 70% of his win's resulting in a finish. This man sure knows not to leave it up to the judges and that attitude puts him in good stead to quickly rise up the rankings. We also feature some of the top fighters in the game, maybe we can help you to produce some top fighters. Below is a selection of some of our top fighters in MMA Tycoon. 1. Jake "The Bronx Bull" LaMotta 117 (Eric Murphy) 2. Bruce "Little Dragon" Lee 399 (Eric Murphy) 3. Jeff "Baseball" Blatt 520 (Lance Edwards) 4. Roco "The Assassin" de Cruz 559 (Joe Smokem) 5. Rudi "Scooby" Guns 679 (Lance Edwards) Steel Penn is only as good as its members, and if you have the motivation to get better along with the dedication to see that goal achieved, we want you. Send Mr White a PM and you will hear back from us soon, as we only have limited spots available. This opportunity may never be at your doorstep again, as once we get our magic number, these doors might close forever.
  9. It's natural reaction to try and avoid getting hit, Toney himself is one of the most elusive boxers in the sport and is an expert at it. As soon as he is on the ground taking punches he'll try and get away from it, whether or not he feels he can take it doesn't matter. I can just see Randy opening the door letting Toney give up his back before he's even realised he's done it and then Randy working for a RNC which won't take long. After that he can refuse to tap all he likes, he'll end up going to sleep. Make no mistake about it though, as long as the fight is standing, Toney is an overwelming favourite and for Randy to take him down he has to get into striking range at some point. I'm certainly excited for the fight, I always liked Toney as a fighter but listening to him/trying to understand him recently I can't say I really like him as a person. I'm a huge fan of both sports but I have to pull for Randy. A win for MMA won't hurt boxing, but a win for boxing could hurt MMA.
  10. I'm going to be a little worried for Randy in the first minute or so of this fight, after that though he'll soon be on his back getting pounded on. A few months training in MMA won't make up for the decades of training Randy has put into wrestling. As long as Randy can get close enough to put a hand on him Toney is going to the mat, after that I don't see anyway Toney is getting back to his feet, at least not without taking a whole lot of punishment. My prediction is a Round 1 Submission for Randy by RNC. I just see Toney getting taken down, giving up his back at the first sign of danger and then not being anywhere near prepared enough to defend from there. As long as the fight is standing though and Randy initially tries to move in to start his dirty boxing he'll always be at risk from Toney with the level of boxing we've yet to see in MMA. He may just shoot straight in for a double leg to avoid being in striking range for too long but my guess is that's the one thing Toney will be looking out for more than anything, whether or not he can stop it still is another thing though. Interesting fight that's for sure, if Randy doesn't win we'll never hear the end of it!
  11. I came across another online MMA game a few months back, got sucked in and wanted more, Google led me here and all I wonder is why it didn't any sooner.
  12. It's simple really, Real Men Fight For Steel Penn! Stay alert at the top boys, soon you'll see us come flying past......
  13. I'm worth every penny, besides us noobs have gotta earn a payday somehow!
  14. Hi guys Just signed up to a VIP account and I see there is an option for Manager to Manager loans? Anyone fancy helping out a noob and loaning me a small amount to get up and running/gamble at the Online Bookies for tonight's UFC? Of course a freebie would also be appreciated Only looking for a small amount, short term loan. 33432 is my Manager ID Apologies for my begging act, thought it was worth a try if someone is in a good mood Happy to return any favour I can by wearing sponorship or buying supplements from your stores etc via my Fighters own money. (They're lucky I can't take it off them!)
  15. Thanks for clearing that up for me guys, I'll almost certainly get VIP, thought I'd test the waters out first for a day or so, $30 for a year is a bargain looking at how in depth this game is (How I haven't come across it until now I've no idea!) Do I get any in free in game cash when I purchase VIP, I'd love to take advantage of one of the online bookies for UFC 16 but I have no money at the moment Below are my first 4 fighters I've created (The first two have QFC fights coming up Monday) If any of you vets can see anything obviously wrong with any of them feel free to point it out, or if you want to throw some sponsorship or contracts etc their way be my guest Oswaldo Sanchez (Amsterdam Based) Jonny Roberts (Las Vegas Based) Yoshiro Takanata (London Based Barry Scott (Tokyo Based)
  16. Hi there, complete noob with a couple of hopefully simple questions. I've been on here for about 3 hours now messing around lol and seem to have figured out most of the basics now but there are just a couple of things I can't track down. 1. When do the training times take place? I'm sure I read somewhere it was 9pm and 9am, is this correct? Are the times dependant on the fighters location or do they take place at the sametime regardless of where you are? 2. Is there any screens in the game which monitor how the training went? Judging by a couple of my fighters energy levels they must have had their first training session, unfortunately I can't remember what levels they were at etc before the session to know whether or not they have improved. Is there anyway of finding out now or is it a case of monitoring it yourself manually and actually taking note of their levels before they train? Feel free to pass on any other basic noob tips you have, I've created my fighters, put them all in new Gym's and organised some training schedules and organised a quick fight for two of them to see how they go and set their fight tactics accordingly. Bought a few supplements and even went crazy and bought one lucky guy a new t shirt, anything else I should do for the time being other than just read over the forums etc, don't want to miss anything obvious I should be doing from the start. Cheers in advance Dirk
