  1. Ditto, except I've not received any messages about mine. It's definitely not confidence either, as that's been proven several times! Very close to giving him the boot.
  2. Would it also not count toward manager hype/record? That would be my personal preference, to keep all that sort of business entirely linked together and these added extras being separate events, but trophies to be won, etc.
  3. I'm very happy an Englishmen wrote that review, Dirk. Apparently it was 10 years ago last week that Curtly ran through us with 8-45 (I think they were the figures). What a guy! Only thing you didn't mention was his mother ringing her bell back in the village when it finished! (She did that every time he took a Test wicket!)
  4. But aren't missed counters still not reported? Therefore it's not that your fighter is not attempting to counter, rather it's that he's not been good enough to successfully counter much.
  5. Mike - It would be great if managers received a PM from their fighter when they've hit their potential (it would be even better if they also sent a message when, say, 5% from hitting potential so you knew you were in the home straight but that might be considered greedy ). It will help to pre-empt these sorts of questions when fighters train for a while with no improvement/potentially see a greater number of de-pops as their other skills get reallocated. Also, when you say that a fighter needs to keep training a skill to prevent de-pops (albeit over a longer period than under tickers), I assume a varied sparring regime remains a good way of ensuring this doesn't happen?
  6. I never thought in the original, but any org with a decent reputation re-opening is good news. Always a sucker for throwing my younger fighters into tournaments to see how they fare, so let's see how this one goes: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=168454
  7. I was surprised by the low proportion of humours' posts that had been neg-rated, too.
  8. Ha, what a ridiculous comment. You realise someone has to be employed for the minimum wage to apply, right? And you know what employment requires? Come on, you've said you work in recruitment so you should understand why your statement is so absurd. Never mind the potential cross-jurisdiction issues you'd be dealing with! I stand by my vote on the OP and my earlier response. I know what he came to me saying and what he asked for (which I consider to be private, hence I won't share). That's the rationale for my frustration. Not merely that a new player has decided to give up on the game before they've even really given it a proper chance.
  9. Particularly disappointing given the plea you sent to me applying for funding via my Dragon's Den venture.
  10. Perhaps worth me chipping in, as I'm a Swindon fan (Di Canio's previous club as manager). Is he a fascist? Probably. Does that necessarily mean he's a racist? Absolutely not - anyone who says differently doesn't understand the differences in political views they're talking about. Is there a common tendency for fascists to also be racist? Yes, there certainly has been in the past, but it's not a required link. I'm surprised he's made that statement today. I expect it's with some persuasion from Sunderland. However, as far as his managerial credentials go, I think Sunderland have made an excellent appointment. He might not necessarily save them from relegation this season because he's come in so late, but he will definitely improve them. A very talented coach, and incredible drive and work ethic. He will be a highly successful manager throughout his career, but I suspect he'll not stay in England for all that long because of the ridiculous press.
  11. Did you enjoy the ONI mention the next week?
  12. I wondered whether something had been changed on the slider layout as well. My last fight I set to 100% try to clinch rather than 0%. The new counter sliders came to my rescue! Thought I'd check the other fight I planned at the same time, and it had exactly the same mistake. Is it a coincidence that I saw this twice in consecutive fights, or is there something wrong? I always set my sliders using phone option and have never made a slider error like that before (obviously I've made strategic mistakes before!).
  13. You know, you could always ask your mentor and get the definitive answer, right?
  14. Like I said before, you're not right. That quote from Mike is not saying what you're suggesting it does. The wiki explains what skills defend transitions, and it's not the same as your statement above.
  15. Yes, you are wrong. The answer has already been given (quite possibly even in this thread). it really helps to read authoritative messages from the man himself, rather than guessing what the answer might be and potentially misleading others.
  16. That is exactly how I understood it to work from the wiki. There is nothing in there that implies the amount of skill being "relocated" is based on the relative level between the skill being reduced and the skill being increased. The wiki only refers to it being based off the level of the skill that you are relocating from.
  17. As there's a lot of grumpy people on the forum at the moment, time to enjoy the funniest thread on the forum again. Undoubtedly Jacky's high point
  18. Wow, I don't think I've seen so much crying in one thread since Tonal smashed STP. The number of frankly staggeringly misplaced statements, complaints, etc is amazing. Have people forgotten there were pages and pages of discussion about these changes just a few months ago? The precise mechanics of the reallocation are new to us, obviously, but the principles behind them are anything but.
  19. I couldn't care less what the names of my coaches are. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that if you do then you should expect to pay 5 VIP days for the privilege.

    New sliders

Nearly caught me out - if you click on the phone version of sliders, your lovely new sliders (and the existing, relocated, aggression v counter slider) disappear. I guess this was just overlooked in the new design, so best to flag it up.
  21. Just the two new skills. It's an opportunity to make these changes begin a little more mature. Not a chance to completely overhaul the design of your fighter.
  22. I think it would actually do the opposite to encouraging can crushing. If you get greater experience increases from fighting higher hyped opponents, then facing a succession of cans to pad your record and slowly build hype will give you proportionately lower experience increases. I agree with you that title fights being included could be manipulated. So although that would be a realistic addition, it may well fail in this game.
  23. It could well turn out that we see takedown success rates improving with this change, and without altering the fight engine. Reason being that the strikers will have to spread their defensive skills (primarily wrestling and BJJ focused) across a greater number of skills. Therefore we could well see more fighters trying to scrimp a bit on takedown defence.
  24. Precisely. Except, of course, the far more likely reason is your slider wasn't actually set to 0%.
