  1. With school starting almost at the exact time my renewal for VIP begins, I have decided to sell my gym and not renew VIP. The gym is located in NYC, named Dropset Dojo. It has an established customer base and high demand. The gym is profitable and has room and potential for growth. I can outline most of the financial info, such as how often gym repairs are done. In all, this could be a great investment for someone looking to run the gym well. Message Manager 4957 for details. The gym will not be put on the free market to bid on over a week. Instead, I will take silent bids over the next 2 weeks and look to transfer the gym 1-2 weeks after that. This is to make sure a seemless transition for the benefit of fighters and managers
  2. When I think of fights like Tamden McCrory and Dustin Hazelett, I am reminded that you are wrong.

  4. I recently turned down a contract extension in Sydney for my fighter who is one of the top guys in his weight class. I just cannot stand the training in that city. The gym Invictus speaks of is $200 a week, but no coach has a single secondary. I mean, for $200/week, I would expect a few points in wrestling for the grappling coach.
  5. I remember in the late '80s a program that seemed to have a conversation with the user. It was brilliant, all the grammar rules were programmed in, and based on what was typed, the program could cut out words and make a statement that was an appropriate answer. For the first ten minutes, it was brilliant. After that, it soon broke down in to an incomprehensible mush. In much the same way, it is like this thread. The argument does not change with what Mike types, but just follows the same predictable spewing of pasted Tycoon Assist pops.
  6. I lost a decision in a fight like this. 3 rounds of him having no energy and some how controlling me on the ground. It isn't the loss that bothers me, it is that I planned better than the guy and he paid virtually no consequence for training up to the day of a fight.
  7. This will not drain money from the economy, it will spike it. PR companies would make for more hype, more hype means bigger fights, bigger fights means larger arenas and more expensive tickets, which would flood match makers who would pay more for fighters. I was not arguing for bookmakers either. Don't try to spin this in to an argument about their legitimacy since that will happen regardless of what is posted here. I just think your idea is not good. The option always exists to not own a business at all rather than flooding the market.
  8. Once your gym nears capacity, the two numbers become essentially the same thing. New gyms, in particular those made by people with no experience, are those that would most benefit. After 2 weeks of experience as an owner, it is not really needed. I suggest making an Excel spreadsheet by the way.
  9. Ironically, Attliction sponsors one of Mike Tycoon's fighters (Harry-something).
  10. You border spam with everything you do Malfreds. Frankly, after the 90 day-$0 thing, I am delighted beyond words to know you felt the same frustration you doubtlessly afflicted on others. As you may remember, I started a boycott post after you repeatedly sent my fighters requests for this sham deal after I asked you to stop. This just goes a long way towards demonstrating that these forums are useful in pointing out and correcting in-game problems. Your annoyance with them now verifies what I am saying: bad things happen to bad people. Continue to get mad, it is food for the trolls.
  11. I like that the companies now require many users to come together for there to be success. I am not sure how TV or PR guys would work at that same level. At a gym, you give me money to train, clothing companies sell shirts for morale, supplement companies sell something to increase training, and fight orgs give the platform for all of this to come together. What would a TV station do? Let me watch a wall of text? What input do I give a PR guy other than my money? I understand wanting something new, but I think it should require work on both ends. On the PR side, I would not sacrifice training for hype as winning would bring it's own hype. I think if there are going to be companies added, they cannot be modeled directly from what is important outside the virtual world because that follows a slightly different set of rules.
  12. A faux Google calendar would be cool. If you could, add a feature that allows us to check a box to send a mail to our mailbox as a reminder should we find it that important (like "change your supplement today for fighter X")
  13. Simple question. Affliction has ceased promoting fights. Should Attiction die a death that is....(insert poll answer) Edit: waiting to figure out why my poll part did not post Double Edit: Well, it should read Faster than Affliction, More costly than Affliction, or More celebrated by us than Dana White celebrated Affliction's death

Established orgs wouldn't, but mid level companies might.

  16. Betting against the Raiders is like having a pension that pays every week.
  17. Thanks Mike. You are right in your example. I just didn't know how to describe wrestlers other wise. Maybe high school-level.... I should read the tale of the tape more often as well. I just thought something more goal oriented might be cool, and since wrestling is one of those things you always hear about the background of the fighter in a fight (if it exists). A guy like GSP has been described as Olympic quality and has been said to have been invited to the Canadian Olympic team, and you see what he does to former National Champs.
  18. I don't think the mystery is necessary, as it is not present now. I can just look up what the word means in terms of numbers. It is just fun, giving guys a goal to work towards that is a little more than the normal words. Sounds cheesy, but I think people would take pride in one or another of those classifications.
  19. When I go to open the forum in a new tab, it goes to the same page as that which is already open. Obviously, this is small, but I figure if it isn't said, it might not be noticed. It would be nice if when using Firefox, I could click the forum tab open in a new tab and go directly to the forum.

You have wasted 6 classes. You have wasted 20 classes by not offering all the proper skills for the coaches, even in small amounts. In fact, I would argue that your circuit training coach and newest striking coach are the only two that aren't being left idling fighters' time. I think when you try to point out the problems with other gyms and hold yourself above others, you run the risk of having people point out your flaws. If it makes you mad that I would post this, it at least gives you an idea how other owners feel about your review of their gym. --Dilbert Hoy, owner of Dropset Dojo
  21. I was thinking it is fun to see a guys belt. It is both more intimidating to see a guy with the words "brown belt" than wonderful and more fun to prgress from purple to brown. I was thinking this could be extended to wrestling. Often, in hearing about fighters, they describe the wrestling background. While I don't have a complete list, it is the beginning of an idea that would be great to have some contributions on to see if it is viable: Olympic Champion Olympic Medalist Olympic Team World Amateur Champion World Amateur Finalist Professional Wrestler (seems kind of high, but when you look at guys like Lesnar and Lashley, their credentials are Champion caliber) National Collegiate Champion Collegiate All-American Division II Champion Division II All American High School State Champion High School All State High School Team Back yard Wrastlin' Useless

    Takeovers

I was thinking that it should be allowed to have people own a share of a company. I think gyms in particular are set up well for this because they have relatively fixed income. I have no idea how to keep this from being abused. One idea is to have it available only for companies with debt completely paid off. You can assess a gyms net worth based on the something like signing bonuses or some type of formula based on what they have paid so far. It would be nice to be able to have access to 10% of the money you put into a company for various reasons.
  23. Wow, what a way to take the high road!! I admire you for that. And if they want to kick your ass, they will have to go through your fighter. As a gym owner, I think this was a really classy thing, let me say it again, you are a good person for this.
  24. Hopefully this is put in place to help reduce small gyms with no coaches. Not perfect, but would be nice if they charged something like this.
