There is also a hidden that affects your ability to gain experience - you may have been unlucky and just pulled a fighter that naturally trains slowly. Apparently there's a script that you can download which lets you know approximately how quickly your fighter trains but I've never been able to get it to work. Since I've gained experience I feel like I'm able to gauge whether or not a fighter trains quickly without it. Training is dependant on a few things, energy, morale, gym equipment and cleanliness, coach skill and class or sparring sizes. Keep these things in check and you've got the recipe for good quality training . Good luck.

I got that as well as a gold once which says I had 3 top ranked island fighters.. I only ever had one. I also increased rank to being one of the top 80 managers almost exclusively due to my island fighter. I dunno. Edit: I also assumed the prizes would be a bit better than just a few trophies and personal satisfaction:p . Could really use some VIP. Regardless, I had a great time this season , winning the super heavyweight part of the island has been the highlight of my mma tycoon career for sure.

^ that It's used to counter-act the 'swing seconds' slider, which is essentially the opposite, where if you're potentially down on the scorecards you'll go all out for the finish. I tend to set the FFD slider at 90 seconds, I'm not sure how effective it actually is, it's probably a conservative setting, I'm just always frightened that someone will go all out and finish me at the end.. I typically set the swing seconds slider at 90 too. It depends on the fight, it's just my line of thinking, like a lot things in the game. With the basic understanding you now have of it, find what works for you.

Hey, I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, or if it's even much of a problem. When you go to the rankings page and you put it on the island, the super heavyweight division isn't shown.
