  1. i personally take a lot of unfair fights, and still come out on top a lot of the time because the other manager makes a mistake. I have had a lot of fights where it is my 258k id guy vs some guy with 245k id, and ... victory despite me thinking to myself "if this guy does this right, I am so dead." The most recent fight like this .... No way i should have won imo(he probably has super good secondaries and great ko power), but I did. Next match is even more of a mismatch that will probably end up with a one sided loss, but i don't think it is utterly hopeless.
  2. Your fighters may just lack strength. If it is low, you won't ever get a ko or tko.
  3. As long as you are in it for the long haul, I don't think having a slow learner is such a big deal. Everyone has a skill cap, so no matter if I reach the cap at 22, vs 24 or 25, if I have a good chin/ko power/heart/intelligence, then great, I can put up with retard learning speed. What I am not sure about is if your fighter will start to depop at a certain age / accumulated injury level, even if he isn't at the skill cap. If this does happen readily and prevents you from ever hitting your cap, then having retard learning speed is a huge problem.
  4. All I ever win is lotto tickets and petty cash.
  5. I am not so sure this concept will continue to work if awareness increases to the general public. There is an idea called the Efficient Market Hypothesis when trading stocks that basically states that stock prices reflect all past publicly available information. If we think of the odds this way(as an efficient market), then as awareness increases the oddsmakers will adapt the line they give to take into account the new information provided by the app, and the predictions it makes will become unprofitable because the line has been changed by the existence of the app making this information public. IMO, you should keep it under wraps for the community at large, and not make a mobile app.
  6. I am pretty sure that the tickbox can actually hurt you at times, mostly when your opponent is very one dimensional. Lets assume that predicting 100 percent takedowns from an opponent gives you a better chance of stopping a takedown vs 33 percent, even if your opponent is only doing takedowns 33 percent of the time, simply because your guy is always looking for your opponent to do a takedown, even if he is only doing takedowns 33 percent of the time. Also from wiki If you want to leave this(Adapt to fight) unticked, you can use this tactically, i.e. if you only really want to stop a takedown you can move sliders to predict a high level of takedowns by your opponent and your fighter will be on the lookout for takedowns, therefore defending them better than any other attack. Of course, this means he'll be worse at defending all the other offense from your opponent but if you don't think that matters, it's a possible tactic If your standup skills are much better than your opponents, your defenses are so overwhelming that even if you set your takedown prediction to 100%, they still can't hardly hit you in a meaningful way. I don't want my fighter to adapt to block their punches and kicks because they are so ineffective as to be meaningless, even if I have made myself more vulnerable by predicting 100% takedowns. Adapting would mean I am giving up some of my takedown defense to defend their punches and kicks that don't matter in reality, and that is exactly what I don't want. This mostly comes into play against the whole Useless Boxing, Useless MT, Respectable Wrestling, Wonderful BJJ types who have no punches or standup offense, but are deadly if they can get you down to the ground.
  7. It is more effective at stopping takedowns, but you have to uncheck "Adapt to fight" to keep your fighter from adapting to the fight and lowering his TD defense bonus and adjusting. The cost of this is that your fighter becomes more vulnerable to all other attacks, but not so much so that it will allow someone with a large skill disparity to overcome this and KO you. If you try this against someone who actually has standup skills with some parity to yours, expect to get clowned.
  8. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=262243 It is pretty simple to see in his record. W Christian Laford Decision (Unanimous) G-Co 9: Baillie vs Trayz 2014-12-06 155 3 04:00 view These are 5 minute rounds .....
  9. I don't see why you don't want this on the ground. If you have good defensive grappling and/or transitions, go for some takedowns, even if you don't have good ones. Don't go for a ton, but putting your takedown slider at 3% isn't bad. Since you both have bad BJJ, whoever is on top will have a huge advantage in the ground game and you can GNP him to paste even without much GNP skill.
  10. Kind of interesting here http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=711018 Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Abubakar Shekau! The fight is stated to end at 2:57, but the 2 minute marker never shows in the logs, which implies that the 2:00 marker either did not render when it should have, or that the end time of the fight is being reported incorrectly. Shekau digs a right hand underneath Martin's ribcage. Martin let out a lung full of air as it connected. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/1.gif That's one minute gone in the round. A right hook to the body lands for Shekau. Martin looks winded! Shekau pushes Martin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Shekau throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Martins head. Shekau scores with a hook to the body. Shekau is leaning against Martin and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Shekau lands a right hand. Shekau lands a shot to the body. Shekau lands with a short shot to the head. Shekau works on Martin's body with a couple of short punches. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Shekau. Shekau lands with a left to the head. Shekau throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Shekau lands a shot to the body. Shekau gets through Martin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shekau lands a body punch in the clinch. Shekau lands a shot to the body. Shekau working some nice short punches in the clinch. Shekau lands a hook to the side of the head. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/rocked.gif Martin is rocked! Shekau creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Martin with a big uppercut! Martin tries to clinch up but Shekau pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Martin to the mat! Martin covers up and Shekau unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout! Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Abubakar Shekau! In his post fight interview, Abubakar Shekau started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
  11. Well, MT still backs up punches at 75% effectiveness in the clinch. MT basically can do everything Boxing + punches can do, at 75% effectiveness. Elite MT = Wonderful Boxing for punches and defending punches. No one really knows how Wrestling/MT skill interact with each other in terms of clinch effectiveness, just that they are both important. It may be additive somehow such as Wrestling + MT = clinch skill, OR it may be a case of "only the best one matters", the worse one is ignored, such as with Boxing, MT, and punching effectiveness.
  12. Does anyone really know? IF it does help, does anyone know if it defends at 75 % in the same way MT helps punches?
  13. The problem with elbows and knees is that they work only in the clinch, and at the high end there is a cap on the total number of skill points you can have, and a lot of very high end fighters don't have elbows or knees because of the point cap. Punches are pretty good, but a big factor in how good you are in the clinch is your Muay Thai skill, and if you have punches with Boxing as primary, that can't compare to punches with MT as the dominant primary. Having Useless Boxing, Wonderful MT, will, overall, be far more flexible and useful than having Wonderful Boxing and useless MT, because MT skill still helps with punches at 75% of boxing skill even when you arn't clinched, (Wonderful MT = Strong Boxing, for punching effectiveness and punch strike defense, although I havn't heard anyone ever explicitly say MT skill = punch strike defense at 75%, it probably does ....), where Boxing is kinda worthless against kicks, elbows and knees defense, and only helps a tiny bit with clinching. Maybe Boxing skill does help wit MT strike defense, but I don't really know for sure. The best thing about elbows really is how easy they can cut people.
  14. Well, take him down, try to stay on top, and sub him. Maybe his Def grappling is not up to par. You may have an advantage in clinch work, try to clinch and takedown/pull guard. Analyze his past fights, see if he is ever looking to clinch/figure out if you can beat his clinch work. Whatever you do, your standup is pathetic so try not to take too many shots or you will crumple up like a tin can. You will probably lose this fight unless you opponent is incompetent, but I don't think it is impossible to win, just something that is a sub 20 percent chance of happening.
  15. Looking for a nutrition partner for my private gym, Reddit Heroes in Las Vegas. I only got 1 coach at the moment doing BJJ/Wrestling, but I am willing to invite a few of your guys to use the gym in exchange for a nutrition partnership.
