The first thing I do not choose opponents it is not in my competence. Secondthing Powell did not deserve to fight for the tittle shots, I had to fight to get through the clauses and Powell wanted to fight so much, And the last thing I'll fight with you gladly, but remember that it will not be a fight for a world title because you are at the bottom of the division only so what a fuck ,speak to matchmaker ,if he want that fight but i don,t think we we will fight

Rick: "Wind your neck in Marco man! Lawson has put his title on the line to fight me. Attitude in the ring is a good thing, step outside though and it dont look or sound so good. Earn respect, dont shout for it... For the record I dont agree with the champs comments about his last opponent either, though he earned the right to say em and only the guy he beat should be the one to bad mouth him back. That's my thinkin' anyway. Good luck in your future fights. Peace!"

Jeremy Cornish was asked to answer a few questions in his dressing room;

NEI: "Jeremy, an impressive win via Rear Naked Choke, but i gotta ask though. You could've gone any way you wanted in this fight. Why submission?"

Jeremy: "Well, i got told to stick to what makes me comfortable. The ground. I took it there, because i didn't want to end up putting too much effort into it. I tried slipping some chokes several times, didn't work. Eventually after some softening him up, i got my arm to his throat and that spelled the end for Tokui Kano."

NEI: "What are you looking for now, after this awesome win?"

Jeremy: "I'm not up for a title fight yet, as far as i know... uh... I got some guys i want to face... That's all, basically."

NEI: "Some guys, one of them being Bobby Brown?"

Jeremy: "Not exactly. I mean, I think Bobby's a great fighter, but he just lost via cut. I think that, if i went into a fight with Brown, and chances are i'm gonna win, it would spell the end of Brown's career. I don't really like the guy personally, he's one of my biggest rivals, but heck. I know from personal experience, that it sucks knowing your career can end at any time, and when it does, you'll regret it. I wouldn't do that even to my sworn-worst enemy."

NEI: "Is there anything else you wanted to say?"

Jeremy: "Three things actually. I wanted to thank my sponsors, mainly Affaketion. Uh... I wanted to say; Allan Nelson, if you're up for it, add me to the list of possible victims. We'll see if we can fight, or anyone else for that matter. And the last thing is for Bobby Brown and his manager Neil Hatton; I called it."

NEI: "Thank you Jeremy. See you next time."

Following his knockout of Arthur Sleep in just 1:28 of the first round, Harald "The Viking Warrior" Friedricksen had this to say in his post fight interview:

Announcer: Wow! You stepped up in the division and rose to the cahllenge again. this is the shortest KO to your credit to date. What are your thoughts on the finish?

Harald Friedricksen: Arhtur Sleep was a bit to predictable. He was easy win for me. I'm not even tired, (chuckles) and I nearly forgot the fight was today and I did a workout this morning. I got a call from Mr. Falcone yelling at me this afternoon. (chuckles). I will take tomorrow off, but I go right back to the gym after that.

Announcer: OK. So what's next for you?

Harald Friedricksen: Well, George Costanza would be a good step up for me. He has fought at the top of this division for awhile now and I think that would make for a great challenge for me.

Announcer: Well, congradulations on the win and good luck in the future! Ladies and Gentlemen, Harald "The Viking Warrior" Friedricksen!

Harald Friedricksen: I would like to thank my managment team, my trainers and my sponsors Punishment Nutrition and Crushed Designs. Thank you for this interview, I love all the fans and you too!

Friedricksen waves to the croud and smiles to the announcer as he leaves the cage.

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

I hope you didn't blink in my last match.. because you may have missed my head kick knock out win over Rob Tandy! 18 seconds and it was all over for the man.. but it's good that way, he didn't have to suffer for too long. An 18 second win feels pretty damn good, and now I'll be on my way to be adding some more W's to my record.. And for one good reason; I can do with the experience.

I am surprised that the champion actually said he'd want to fight me right now, haha. I mean is that how you been getting your record up? Facing guys that clearly have a long way to go before they're ready for a title match? Hah. Hey don't get me wrong, if I had the offer to fight you I'd take it. I'd do my damn best to kick that little head of yours off. But do you really, really think that the match maker would book us at the current time? No... So don't you worry, Champ. I'll be facing tougher and tougher opponnents and in the end I'll come to face off with you.. So you better keep that title.. which is easy if it's not on the line i na fight.. and then I'll come take it from you. How does that sound? Ah it doesn't matter what you think really. I'm on a path to become the heavyweight champion, and it's only a matter of time before I got my hand on the gold.

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

I am scared? I just said that I would accept the fight if it got offered... Are you that dumb you didn't get what that means? Let me break it down for you, you moron. I, Kroepoek, would accept, fight offer, against you. Did I dumb it down enough? I can try again if you want me too..

The only one that is scared is you buddy, remember you said this? "And the last thing I'll fight with you gladly, but remember that it will not be a fight for a world title because you are at the bottom of the division only so what a fuck ,speak to matchmaker ,if he want that fight but i don,t think we we will fight"

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

And now you're saying this? "It's not in my interest to fight with you because this victory will not be worth anything"

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

I guess my 18 second head kick win didn't only put Tandy in the emergency room, but it also kicked the WUSS inside of you awake, hah.

As I stated before; I'll fight my way up to you and then I'll send you in to retirement.

EliteMMA.com managed to get a word with "Dynamite" David Murray regarding his upcoming fight with Vladimir Petrov at NEI - Heatseekers 9 taking place in London next week.

EM: How's training been going?

DM: No complaints here. I took a little extra time off- well I shouldn't really say time off... I just took some extra time to concentrate on training so I'm fully prepared for this next fight. This is a very important fight to me.

EM: Your opponent, Vladimir Petrov. Obviously, the two of you have met before.

DM: We have- that's part of why I needed to really go back and make sure all my focus is on this fight.

EM: The first time you two fought, you ended up on the losing side. You hinted going into that fight that you were fighting through some injuries, could you tell us about that?

DM: I'd rather not get too into it because I don't want to take anything away from my opponent. I did go into that fight with a knee injury, but obviously I took the fight and the better man won on the night. I had taken the fight against the advice of my trainers and it led to me not being as aggressive as I would have liked, but as stupid as it is I suppose I just don't like turning fights down. I might not have a charming record right now but no one's ever going to tell me I duck anybody. Vladimir is a tough guy and my hat's off to him for what he's done lately, but I know for sure that I'm ready to go this time around. Training has gone very well and I'm as healthy as I've ever been, and mentally I'm well-prepared to ensure the result from the first fight doesn't repeat itself.

EM: Speaking to your trainers, they said they have never seen you this serious in your sparring sessions. Is there something in particular about this fight that you could attribute to that?

DM: Well as I said, this is a rematch and avenging a loss is high on my agenda. Vladimir is no joke and his only loss is to a former champion so I respect his skills, but I can't put the guy on a pedestal. When I'm training and when I step into the ring with him, I can't have any respect for him. I feel like he stole something from me last time around and now it's just time to take that something back. I've also had some personal issues with family lately, in that my cousin passed away in a motorcycle accident not long after my last fight, and now my uncle is currently going through chemotherapy... so winning this fight for my family isn't just an option. I need this win badly.

EM: I'm sorry to hear that. You said you're mentally in the right place for this fight, so you wouldn't expect that to play a factor during the fight?

DM: I don't think so. My family is on my mind, of course, but whenever the bell rings and I'm about to fight, my focus is always one hundred percent on the guy in front of me and just taking him out of there as quickly as possible.

EM: The middleweight division in NEI is arguably one of the thinner ones in the company. Do you think there's even more pressure on you to win to keep the division interesting?

DM: There's enough pressure on me to win for the reasons I just mentioned, you know. I don't worry about the rest of the division, just about what I'm doing. If I can string together a little winning streak though, it definitely does put me in a good place and we can work from there, but right now I'm concentrating on the fight I have in front of me. If I end up turning some heads with a big win, so be it. I'm not fighting for that, though.

EM: My condolences to you and your family, David. Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?

DM: I'd just like to say thank you for your continued support of me and MMA, and I look forward to putting on a good show next week.

NEI - Ignition (18) PREVIEW

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1307968973NEI.jpg

Phooey vs. Deco

These two's skills are off the charts. We have a Muay Thai beast going up against Deco who's a ground specialist. Deco has lived off of his wrestling and it has given him only 2 losses in his career. His stand up game will be tested here against a very talented Muay Thai practitioner who has given people knock out after knock out with his striking skill. It is now up to Phooey to keep this standing and avoid rolling with a world class wrestler who also has black belt in BJJ.

PREDICTION:

Deco via Submission

Giljotin vs. Askren

After winning 5 straight in NEI Askren finally went down against Peterson a very quick fight. This time around it looks like he is up against a fighter with a very good ground game. Giljotin has made a statement that if ever anyone goes down to the ground with him he will finish them off with submissions. Askren has very good ground game but I don't think it's as good as Giljotin. So, I think he must keep this fight standing at all cost to avoid Giljotin's collection of limbs.

PREDICTION:

Giljotin via Submission

Khan vs. Reynolds

These two fighters have been victim to the same finish in their career. Both of them have never lost via decision nor via submission but they have always been knocked out whenever they lose. It could be said that Reynolds could get away with this since he is up against a submission artist. It will be a huge question for Khan if he can withstand the punishment Reynolds will put on him. Khan has the opportunity to be the first fighter to ever submit Reynolds. It will be an interesting match up for these two. It's a fighter who is avoiding to get KO'ed and a fighter who is avoiding to be submitted the first time. Let's see who wins this match on march 02!

PREDICTION:

Reynolds via TKO/KO

Stag vs. Kaiser

Coming off his second win against Holmes, Kaiser is once again put again in a rematch fight against Stag. In their first fight Stag gave him the taste of defeat finishing him off with a submission late in the first round. This time around we will know if Kaiser has improved his ground game or will we see another finish from Stag? Kaiser has yet to prove that his ground game has evolved since his other fights are against strikers.

PREDICTION:

Stag via Submission

Gage vs. Leissner

Gage has always been a monster when it comes to knocking out his opponents. But when it seems that when it comes to latter round he gets owned specially against wrestlers. This time he is up against a very well known wrestler in Leissner. He should not only fear Lessner's ground and pound but he also has some serious submissions in his repertoire. We'll see if Gage can fend off Leissner's takedowns in this bout. It will be a key component in a win for Gage.

PREDICTION:

Leissner via TKO/Submission

Carnophage vs. Valquez

s

There are two main disciplines when it comes to striking and these are Boxing and Muay Thai. We have ambassadors of Boxing and Muay Thai in this match up both of which are extremely fearsome. Valquez has made his way through the ranks of different orgs. with his ridiculous muay thai. He made a living by making a gash on people's faces. On the other side Carnophage has always been trying to break the barrier of making the elites of his division. He has been KO'ing people in order to get to the next level. This will be a true test for these two. Who will win the striking match? The guy with Muay Thai or Boxing?

PREDICTION:

Valquez via TKO/KO

Leroix vs. Lawson

Whenever these two enter the ring we always are expecting knock out. These two have combined for 12 1st round knock outs. That is some serious knock out power going on between these two. These two are boxers who are really dominating their opponents with their powerful punch. We will see a classic slugfest between two fighters with enormous punching power. Leroix has been more divers putting in kicks with his punches. Lawson is a traditional boxer who just rely on his punching to do the work. Will the diverse attack from Leroix or will Lawson's punching power prove to be too much for his opponent? Let's just watch!

PREDICTION:

Lawson via TKO/KO

Edward vs. Vischi

Vischi is the better wrestler but he pretty much uses his wrestling just for takedown defense which is good news for Edward. Edward is on a rampage winning his 3 recent fights with finishes in the 1st round. Vischi's 3 previous fights were from finishes but the most recent one wasn't really a finish he wanted. He was knocked out by Saint with a head kick. Edward needs this win to put himself into the elites of the division while Vischi must revive his winning streak with this fight against Edward.

PREDICTION:

Vischi via TKO/KO

CO-MAIN EVENT

Cekada vs. Lee

Cekada has only one loss in his stay in Pride and that's against Bro Lee. The first fight was pretty much dominated by Lee with his kicks and superior muay thai. This one will be interesting because we saw Cekada going for takedowns which could make a difference this time around. Will we see Cekada go for more takedowns or will he prove he is the dominant striker between the two of them. Lee should stick to his previous plan and dominate the stand up.

PREDICTION:

Lee via Unanimous Decision

MAIN EVENT

Inoue vs. Saint

This is the 2nd fight between these two... In their first fight Inoue struggled to put the fight on the ground and when it was on the ground he was struggling getting submissions and improving his position. If Inoue wants to get the belt from Saint he must keep the fight on the ground and stay away from Saint's striking game. If he manages to do that Inoue will give himself a bigger chance of winning. Saint must repeat performance in their first fight except the first round which was very close for a submission for Inoue. We'll be in for an exciting fight Inoue going for the revenge while Saint is going for his first title defense.

PREDICTION:

Saint via TKO

Thanks all! We've come a long way in a short time, and it's really thanks to the loyal crop of managers and fighters I've managed to garner within the NEI halls. Unfortunately we can't shatter the fourth record, as 20k is the max attendance for London. Else I'd have gone for that too!
