Kimmy, sitting at the breakfast table, iPhone in hand, checking the newly floated V.F.C stock prices, receive an update alert, from twitter.

@yurileb1989: Mr MacWiddle. Yuri lost weight! Yuri fight with Jackson on! Thank you! Mr Bogey say you be happy. Mr Bogey say Mr MacWiddle can not give Yuri a Rats Ass. That ok Mr MacWiddle

Reading the tweet aloud, Kimmy mutters "Oh, excellent, Yuri finally made weight. I had my doubts for a moment, that guy really, really likes his pies".

Deciding the best course of action is to return the tweet, Kimmy thinks, carefully, how to word it.

'@KMcRiddleVFC: Yuri. Congratulations! Good news for all! Nobody had any doubts you could do it. Let's see what John Jackson has to say for himself in the cage, now!

Bringing up the phonebook on his iPhone, Kimmy dials the number of Mike Melton,

"Hey, Mike! How's it going?"

"Yeah, i'm good Mike, thanks, you?"

"Yeah.. great, nice to hear that. Listen, do me a favour? You know our guy Yuri?"

"Yeah, the fat one"

"Heh, no, he's not so fat anymore. He finally made weight!"

"Yeah, that's great news, I know. Listen, get him a treadmill ordered, send it directly to his house. You have his home address, right?"

"Great, fantastic. Express it for me. The quicker the better"

"Yep, haha, no, no, don't include that, you've seen the size of the guy"

"Cheers Mike, catch you later!"

Slowly placing the iPhone down, a contented look appears on his face, as he resumes his munching on the freshly poured bowl of Fruit 'N Fibre.

Bob Jones here from mmajunkie.com with updates from yours truly-

Wellman Junior- Eh tough fight for my boy Hendayko, he's devestated over the loss. He will bounce back though and will start training as soon as possible, he has a seperated shoulder grade two and will be out for a bit. I myself cannot wait for the LW tournament and plan on showing my stand up power as well as my ground skills.

manager wellman- Hendayko's fight plan was to keep it in the clinch and wear Brute down and throw a lot of knees and elbows and gruel it out. Unfortunatley he tore his shoulder and a cut interfered with his vision and he could not fully execute the game plan. He is not planning on retiring and I am not releasing him though. I plan on having him train with my top fighter- free agent acquisition Matthew Matthews; to improve Hendayko's wrestling and striking defense.

Hendayko- Not much to say, he was very tough and hit very hard. He was the better fighter going in and I was the underdog, but theres no excuses. Fuck I hope this shoulder holds up.

Matthew Matthews- I do not fight for VFC or affiliate myself with it, I go to the matches though to support my teamates and they are all very good. I have a fight coming up soon, and all shall see how good Wellmans managering is with top quality talent.

Lack- My training is going well.... Karl Chavez is gunna get his back cracked by "Crackback" Joe Lack babyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

Fight Fans this is Richie Ciapelli and Im outside the VFC after party trying to get a word with some of the fighters managers from tonights card, which was brutal.

Peel how are your boys? Two crushing defeats by stoppage, with Isadoroa knocked cold by a hammerfist, neither of your boys showed any take down defece against ground specialists, any comments?

Peel'yeh it went wrong early with the take downs and got steadily worse, Cerezo had trained to be competitive in the event of a takedown but he was overpowered so no argument there. Not had chance to speak with Serginho yet coz he is on oxygen and hasnt woken up yet, but he couldnt cope with the take downs and he has a lot of work to do in that area, shame he looked OK in the stand up and he showed balls coz took a fuckin pastin before he got put to sleep. Cerezo is fine and he will be training again Tuesday, he was one of the first at the party so he is probably pissed now.'

Richie 'Thanks Peel, there is Shane Wellman, Shane any comments on the mother of all beatings your boy took 'again' tonight, wouldnt he have been stopped on cuts if he wasnt knocked cold? Aint those Brute bros something? Are you and Peel gonna be asking Don King how to win a fight!'

Shane Wellman ' fuck off Richie'.

So, with the conclusion of yesterdays events, my list of entry for the first VFC tournament is complete.

I've had to drop the fighter limit down to 8. Without seeding, I couldn't make a 12 fighter bracket work.

I've left out any fighters who have managers who have shown signs of inactivity. For obvious reasons, I do not want inactive managers taking part in this tournament.

These brackets are random, as such, i've had no control over who fights who. We have some amazing matchups from the very first bracket, though (Hello Reyes vs Wellman 2!). Again, this was random, as you can see on the following link.

http://www.tycoontools.com/viewtournament.php?id=4ea546c7e9807

If your fighter is not in this tournament, despair not. Use the time to train him up, and then show me, and the rest of VFC why he's a title contender, and you'll get your shot at the title, just like everybody else.

The first round, will feature the following bouts:

Dustin Oliveira vs Jon Davis

Marco Reyes vs Shane Wellman Junior (This will be an amazing fight, i'm sure)

Ronald Chinner vs Jimmy Young

Vladimir Dracula vs Corey Hawkins

PRESS RELEASE STRAIGHT FROM THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN

Don King Jr. here, they might want to start calling me king of the little boys as well as king of the heavyweights. I even have one of my fighters in the big eight man tournament coming up in VFC. Jon Davis, bring me home the gold baby and youll have a nice roll of paper in your pocket.

Wellman- Fuck sorry Richie, I was pretty pissed after the loss. Hendayko fucked up his shoulder pretty bad and he keeps getting cut yes. He did not execute his game plan either- to bang it out with nasty knees in the clinch. I think he got unmotivated once he saw he got cut, weel stitch him back up and hope he is alright. If he loses his next fight it is likley he will retire and we could sign his younger brother if possible. Hendayko will not lose his next match though, he is still a very dangerous striker with KO power people! He just has faced some very good fighters recently and had a bad run. My boy Joe Lack is fighting soon too, a loss could jeapordize his career too... So expect him to hold it down against Chavez, with a win he will be in the top ten for LHW's. Wellman Junior is a beast and is going up against the always tough Marco Reyes, just a warning to all others though- Junior has improved significantly in all areas after his last fight, and his gameplan will be switched up to rile up Marco. Junior believes he is the best at 155 and I will agree, there is tough competition though

((This is posted following a collaborative effort between Brunno Falcone and Jon Boogi. We worked on it with mails back and forth for a day or two before agreeing we were ready to post this))

Kenrick is driving to the gym when a alert on his phone comes in. He glances at it, sees that it's Yuri. He chuckles.

Kenrick: Thinking to himself... Hell I'll be at the gym in three minutes. May as well just wait until I get there. it won'tbe long now.

Kenrick pulls up in front of the gym and parks. He goes around to the back of the Hummer and pulls out both, now assembled 26" mountain bikes. He starts walking both towards the front door. Spotting Yuri standing there looking expectantly at his phone, Kenrick shouts a greating to his friend.

Kenrick: "Yuri! I'm right here! SO what do you think? Pretty nice bikes... pick out one for yourself and never step foot on a treadmill again!"

Yuri: "Kenrick! Bicycle for Yuri? This present?" Yuri's face breaks into a huge smile, as he walks over to give Kenrick a back-slapping hug... "Thank you! Yuri black one Okay? Yuri no have bicycle since Yuri seven! Kenrick sure...?"

Yuri releases Kenrick as his phone beeps...

Yuri: "Oh! Mr MacWiddle twit Yuri! One moment friend Kenrick..." Yuri quickly responds to the message, before turning once more to Kenrick

Yuri: looking at the black bike with a smile on his face... "Yuri not thank Kenrick enough! We ride now, or fight? Yuri happy!"

Kenrick: "You're welcome, big guy. Let's ride. We can wrestle when we get back. This will be fun. We can do our cardio without looking at the same boreing walls and we don't have to run on a treadmill... God, those things are so bad for you really... they do all kinds of damage to your feet and... Oh who cares about all that... let's go!"

Kenrick slaps Yuri on the shoulder and gets on his bike. He waits for Yuri to mount up before riding out towards the local park, making sure to keep a pace with Yuri...

Yuri: Popping one leg over the bike then, with intense concentration on his face, follows Kenrick....wobbling erratically as he pedals, his knees sticking out at a wide angle... "Uh...gnn...uhh...gnn" after a few minutes his balance improves a little and his face relaxes into a child-like grin... "Woooooooo! Yuri like! Fuuuuun!"

Kenrick: "I think we'll only do a short ride today since you're still getting used to that bike. Say, 5 miles? Then we'll head back and do some sparring. OK, I'll try and keep the pace reasonable at first too."

Yuri: puffing a bit as he veers wildly to one side, narrowly avoiding a man walking his dog... "Ugh...gnn....Oh! Yuri Sorry! Gnn...uhn....Ok friend Kenrick, Yuri follow! ugh...gnn..."

staying more or less together, and with no serious accidents, the pair wind their way back to the gym for their sparring session...

manager- Dustin Oliveria and Corey Hawkins look to be the favorites in the upcoming tournament, and likeley so. But watch out, Junior has improved every single aspect of his game at least 150% in everything due to him being an 18 year old and learning quicker than a 22 o 25 year old, Junior is becoming a beast and even if he were to lose (which he won't), his skills are going to be ridiculous when he is 19 and 20

Preview brought to you by Peel Steel and Prime Designs

Evening MMA fans I’m Richie Ciapelli of MMA USofA and the press conference has just finished for this weekends VFC card, Blackwater Park, so without further a do here’s a run through of what we can expect on Sunday.

Celentano vs Ferdinand

Former pro boxer Celentano is 2-1 but don’t be fooled by this loss because it was in his debut against the highly regarded CJ Miller in the QFC. Since then its not his boxing that has impressed but his silky smooth submissions, retiring Ryan and submitting Kimmi McRiddle protegy Teagus in the 2nd round. However, in Ferdinand he faces a BJJ Purple Belt and a good wrestler who despite also having a 2-1 record has been training MMA longer than the former boxer. Celentano may have to revert to his boxing here and hope to stuff Ferdinand’s take down attempts. I’m going with Ferdinand here, expect him to be too strong and over power Celentano late on and force the stoppage on the ground. Though I’m sure Celentano has a bright future whatever the outcome.

The Winner: Ferdinand – 3rd round Sub.

Mentoleo vs Mario

Mentoleo is 1-0 with a quick submission victory but this could be misleading because he fought a Muay Thai guy with no take down defence. Mario is 2-3 having won 2 straight, after being overmatched in his first three outings. Mario can box and wrestle and I think his superior experience will be way too much for Mentoleo who shouldn’t be in the cage with Mario. The only concern I have is Mario isn’t training which I can’t fathom because he can afford to train. Mario wins this but does he really want to fight, if he does he is clearly my pick here.

The Winner: Mario

Bronk vs Tyler

Its not often you get two so evenly matched guys, but these boxers also hold BJJ purple belts with strong boxing. Bronk is on a 4 fight losing streak, and he hasn’t been overmatched so is he cannon fodder for more talented fighters? There certainly is room for ‘mexican roadsweepers’ in the VFC who put up stellar losing performances as Hendayko showed last weekend, so maybe Bronk sees himself in this category. Bronk and Tyler have already met in the QFC with Tyler scoring a shut out decision. Tyler has subsequently gone the distance with Jez which shows durability. Tyler is still training at a cardio based gym which leads me to question his secondaries, but is Bronk capable of utilizing his superior training to even the score with Tyler.

The Winner: Who knows, this is the beer and burger break for me.

Sagdiyev vs Silva

Light Heavyweight prospect Sagdiyev looked in great shape is managed by VFC coaching guru Tetsudori and he is favoured to go to 2-0 against free agent Silva a purple belt who was signed up to the VFC and then kicked out by his manager. Sagdiyev can box and wrestle to a reasonable standard and allegedly has knockout power in his hands. We don’t know if Silva will pose much of a threat due to 3 weeks of drinking and snorting crack but Sagdiyev will keep this standing and use his KO power to send Silva back to Brazil, permanently.

The Winner: Sagdiyev – KO

Lack vs Chavez

Lack has a very solid all round game, and don’t be deceived by his 1-3 record made up of fights in which he was overmatched in other fight organisations. He is managed by Shane Wellman who is a proud man and would not put his reputation on the line if he didn’t have faith in Lack. Chavez is a wonderful boxer is 1-1 against strikers and so has untested take down defence, which Wellman’s man will surely try and find out very early.

I’m backing Wellman’s Lack here to take this to the ground and better his record to 2-3.

The Winner: Lack – Ground & Pound

Jez  Vs Renato

Kimmi McRiddle’s Muay Thai London based protegy Jaroslav Jez takes on capable Muay Thai and BJJ Purple Belt Renato. Unless Jez has a flaw not yet exposed I expect this one to stay standing and will depend on whether Renato has crunching KO power which will be needed to get a win over Jez. Jez is already looking towards bigger fights at 205, in particularly avenging the brutal KO loss his elder brother (now a world famous transsexual hair stylist) suffered at the hands of Sergio Morales. Look out for this one early December. Jez will be too strong for Renato and I’m expecting a 1st round stoppage.

The Winner: Jez – KO strikes 1st round.

Tinsdell Vs Souwer

BJJ Brown belt Tinsdell is 1-0 and coming off a sub of the night award winning performance at VFC 3 and tonight he faces the well rounded Souwer who is hoping to end a 3 fight losing streak. At the press conference Tinsdell accompanied by manager Falcone looked in awesome shape from his training at VFC Rookie Academy, which was in stark contrast to Souwer who talked only of survival and didn’t look in peak condition from his Cozad training. Souwer is well rounded but can he keep this standing? Tinsdell will secure the take down and submit Souwer who needs a shrink if he going to turn is MMA career around.

The Winner: Tinsdell – Sub.

Jones Vs Almanez

Here we have two very skilled middleweights who have found life hard in other organizations. They are well matched guys but as Jones has the slight advantage in the stand up, look for Almanez to take this to the ground and impose his BJJ Brown belt on Jones. All 5 of Almanez’ wins are by submission. Jones will keep this standing and given he has no history of securing an early finish he will seek to win this by decision.

The winner: Almanez – submission.

Dope Vs Schultz

Don King prospect Shaggy Dope gets another nailed on victory against Schultz who is 1-9 and looks like a crash test dummy once he is taken to the mat. Dope can box and he is a decent wrestler with some BJJ skills. Dope is 2-1 and none if his fights require the judges, and it should be win number 3 for Dope as he gets his record padded out in preparation for bigger and more dangerous fights in the future. Don King Jnr isn’t in attendance this weekend as he is Tokyo looking trying to sign a young Judoka.

The Winner: Dope

Sakuraba Vs Nyrkki

Ground specialist Sakuraba is 1-1 but that loss was a debut decision loss in the QFC when he was considerably overmatched. Nyrkki is a capable wrestler however he is a novice in comparison to Sakuraba so take down defence will be critical if he is to take his record to 2-0. He won his debut by taking an MT guy to the mat and using ground and pound, but he must use his own Muay Thai skills here, utilize the low kick and keep this standing. I don’t think he will, Sakuraba will secure the takedown at some stage of the action and this fight is over.

The Winner: Sakuraba

So that’s the card, don’t miss it!

Anthony Tinsdell

(Announcer calls out Tinsdell's weight as he steps onto the scales, Brunno Falcone is standing behind Tinsdell)

Announcer: Anthony Tinsdell's official weight... 153.5 lbs.

(Tinsdell poses, flexing his muscles, and smiling. He then steps off the scales)

(Some time later during the press conference, Tinsdell is addressed by the media)

Reporter for the Canton Repository: You made short work of Coleman in your VFC debut back in VFC 3. How well do you think you will do against Andy Souwer?

Anthony Tinsdell: Well, Andy is a much more game opponent than Coleman was that's for sure. Coleman was too worried about his retirement to the Bahamas to stay focused on the fight. He was also really too small to have been fighting in the weight division he was in. I mean I had almost 30 pounds on him that last fight, but Souwer, he's a different matter. His stand up skills are formidable and he is no doubt going to attempt to hand me a beating. So it gives nothing away to say that I fully intend to take him to the ground with me and pull him into my world. When that happens, well, it should be all over then. If I fail to get those takedowns, well, it will be an unpleasant day for me. But I am confident and have trained very hard for this fight. I'm in the best shape of my entire life and have never been stronger. I am supremely confident that this fight will end well for me.

MMA Addict.com Reporter: Souwer is a much smaller guy as well, which often means much faster. Do you feel that his speed will pose a significant obstacle in you imposing your game plan on him?

Anthony Tinsdell: I'm not that slow myself, and I think that my training camp has prepared me well for this fight. We have studied his fighting style and we are confident that we can exploit the weaknesses in his game. Unfortunately, for Andy, it's likely that his record will be 2-4 after the fight tomorrow.

Brunno Falcone: Yeah, see. Weez been trainin' real hard deez past few monts now and Anthony, here, has been doin' great! Dis kid is gonna go places. He's getting stronger, faster and more skilled wit each passin' day. I tink dat, Souwer has gots hisself a lot to be worried about in dis here fight, see.

Jeff Seeman(Fox Sports Ohio Reporter): Considering Andy Souwer's much more extensive ring experience, it is likely that he would expect you to do just what you stated that you want to do and will have trained extensively himself in takedown defense. How confident are you that you can overcome his defensive abilities and get this fight onto the ground.

Anthony Tinsdell: Well, Jeff, I mean I am one of the most skilled Brazilian Jiu Juitsu Practitioners in the VFC. I have been training takedowns as well as takedown defense intensively and I have some of the strongest submissions skills of anyone else in the VFC. There is almost no doubt that I will submit Andy if it goes to the ground and there is only the tiniest bit more doubt that I will get those takedowns I need to work my magic. It's just that simple. I may not be the most well rounded fighter in the VFC by far, but I am very good at what I do. He will tap out before the night is over. He has a puncher's chance, just like anyone, but he has not demonstrated KO power in any of his previous fights so I am not worried about him scoring a surprise KO. All I gotta do is get the fight to the ground and I got 15 minutes to do that. That is almost a guarantee that I win this fight.

Don King Jr. here. Just a questions, what doesshaggy have to do to get on the poster. He is absolutely livid he isnt on it. After his upcoming win, he should never be forgotten again

The posters are sometimes done up to a month in advance of an event being 'locked', so the names of those that appear are normally just whoever was confirmed at the time of the posters creation.

I wouldn't put to much though into it. Tell Shaggy to keep reaching for the stars and he'll one day get his name on a poster!
