WPR:12 BRAWL IN BRAZIL

http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/13705005952qnpfcy.jpg

Peter McDonald vs. "The X-Killer" Anderson De Santos

Our first fight of the evening features one (of several) for the grappling fans. Peter McDonald is a BJJ brown belt and decent boxer to match. He is coming of a hard fought loss to TUF featherweight standout Chili Parlma at TUF: 4 a fight in which he repeatedly took down the future number 1 contender, but got caught in a triangle with 15 seconds left in the second. He will look to night to get on the path to a shot at the belt but standing in his way is Anderson De Santos. A purple belt with decent wrestling, this WPR newcomer will begin his long climb to the top of the division. His relentless takedowns were able to grab him a win in his first and only fight. De Santos has the better wrestling but McDonald’s fight with Chili, winning the first round against a killer like that tells me he’s got this in the bag.

Prediction: McDonald by submission

Mikala Konani vs. Seu Gil

Mikala Konani is a nasty boxer with good wrestling and a well rounded game. He is another WPR newcomer coming off a win in a QFC fight, a win in which he dominated his opponent in the clinch en route to a 3 minute TKO victory. Welcoming him to the cage is Seu Gil, a BJJ people belt who has inexplicably tank here in the WPR going 0-4 since he signed up. It looks like Mr Invincible may have stolen his heart when those 2 fought, and I could see this fight going much the same as that one did. Mikala will absolutely tool Gil on the feet but Gil holds a small BJJ edge but doesn’t have the wrestling to get it there.

Prediction: Konani by KO

Dy "Marra" Batista vs. Sam Shields

Dy Batista is a sprawl and brawler with solid hands and the takedown defense to stay on the feet. He is coming of an emphatic KO victory over Leon Witcher at WPR: 10. This heavy handed bastard did that with just 5 punches. Sam Shields is a technically superior striker with top class wrestling and a purple belt. Coming off an absolute dismantling of Experiment Numero a fight in which he landed 19 of 23 total strikes (7 for 7 combos). Although he doesn’t quite have Batista’s one shot power, what he does have is a very respectable ground game which he can put to use to grind out the W here.

Prediction: Shields by ground game

Mari Juana vs. Anderson "The Prodigy" Nogueira

Mari Juana is a very well rounded fighter who has hit a run of tough luck. Since his loss in a title fight with then champion Diego Minotauro he has yet to leave the first round ambulatory(able to walk, Hooray learning). Anderson Nogueira is another all rounder who is coming off a decision win over Ceveda Bacon, a fight in which Bacon went balls to the wall in the first trying to finish only to gas out and lose the next 2. This is a very though call as this one is all in the sliders. From their histories I’d say Mari Juana looks to submit but Nogueira is more a ground and pounder and Mari has had some poor showings as of late.

Prediction: Nogueira by decision

"Stumpy" Renan Cavallo vs. Jimmy "Bind" The Grinn

Renan Cavallo is a BJJ brown belt who withstood a whirling dervish of submission attempts from Xorez Psylo before countering an omoplata and capitalizing with some serious ground and pound from side control to TKO him. He will need his submission game more than ever here though as Jimmy the Grinn is the owner of some of the best wrestling in the division along with a purple belt. Coming off a RNC loss to Jeronimo Ferra De Almada, a fighter with eerily similar stats to Cavallo, Grinn had better hope his defense on the ground is up to snuff or his second submission loss in 2 fights is sure to follow.

Prediction: Cavallo by sub

Car Jack" Jacques Don Pierre vs. Ken "Musta" Fayol

This is another fight featuring 2 stellar grapplers on a card that is already overflowing with ground fighters. Jacques Don Pierre is a brown belt with solid wrestling and has submitted his only 2 opponents. Ken Fayol is a purple belt with better wrestling who has also submitted his only 2 opponents. Very similar, maybe even identical in their tactics approaching their previous fights. Well the real difference here is that Pierre is in shape and Fayol is going to come in at 75% if he’s lucky.

Prediction: Fayol isn’t that lucky

"Bruiser" Jeronimo Ferra De Almada vs. Xhorez Psylo

If you read the last preview you have the same fight here. Xhorez is out of shape and is going to get tapped.

Cevada Bacon vs. Diego "The Axe Murderer” Minotauro

Cevada Bacon is, surprise surprise, a grappler with a decent boxing game as well. He’s coming off a decision loss to Anderson Nogueira in a ground war in which his over aggression worked against him. But he will have a tough test here tonight as he takes on former champion Diego Minotauro. Coming off a crushing title loss to Malaik Hamadani a fight which saw him TKOed from mount in the 3rd round, Diego Minotauro’s path to a rematch starts tonight. Diego is a very well rounded fighter with remarkable wrestling and a dangerous stand up game to boot. This is looking very one sided as Diego is just better everywhere and it’s his fight to lose but hell, stranger things have happened.

Prediction: Diego by KO

Josip Peric vs. LT Rogers

Josip Peric is a striker, HOLY SHIT A STRIKER ON THE CARD, with world class Muay Thai and solid wrestling to ensure it stays on the feet. The owner of 4 under 1 minute head kick knockouts this man possesses serious power in his feet and a tendency to score early and often. LT Rogers is, OH MY GOD, a striker as well with boxing and muay Thai and all that great stuff. Also with a couple lightning quick KO’s we can expect this to be a shoe in for fight of the night especially on such a grappling-centric card. LT’s striking game is a bit better rounded with his boxing holding a slight edge over Peric but when these two warriors step to each other the only thing that can really be predicted is fireworks and unconsciousness.

Prediction: LT by KO

Raider Vancan vs. Roberto Gomez "Chapolin" Bollanos

Our main event of the evenining is a match for the WPR heavyweight championship. Raider Vancan is a world class wrestler and BJJ purple belt. This man looks like the MMA tycoon version of a young Mark Kerr as all his fights look very much alike. Power double followed by a ground and pound assault followed by the referee raising his in victory while standing over a broken man. Hell if he looking for a nickname Kerr’s moniker of “the smashing machine” would work perfectly here. The man he faces is Roberto Gomes Bollanos. An exceptional boxer with a solid ground game, he has finished all his opponents with his crisp technique and heavy hands. Both these men’s game plans are quite transparent with Vancan looking to hit the ground and Bollanos needing to stay on his feet. Bollanos doesn’t quite have the wrestling to stay upright here and I think we could have an early TKO coming for Raider “the smashing machine” Vancan.

Prediction: Vancan by TKO

You do know Magic Johnson retired immediatly upon finding out he had it, right?

DBDA: This guy! THIS GUY! HAIRFACE! Talking about me, Diogooooo Bortolazzoooooooo De Almeeeeeeeeeeeidaaaaaa. Talking about Magic Johnson like I know nothing. I know about Magic. He retired, but was named to the All-Star Team and was the MVP of that All-Star game. THAT'S LIKE ME! I haven't even fought yet, and I'm already an All-Star. After my first fight, I WILL BE THE MVP OF THIS ORGANIZATION! I might as well not even fight! Screw you Rory Daly, I'm going to take my money and run!

Diogo's manager, Fox Jacobson leans over and whispers in Diogo's ear.

DBDA: I retract that statement. Apparently Rory has some incriminating evidence against me blackmailing me to fight. SCREW YOU RORY! I DID NOT KNOW THAT SHE WAS A MAN UNTIL AFTERWARDS!

Fox pulls Diogo away from the microphone and steps up:

Fox: There will be no further questions for my client until after he has signed his first fight offer. Thank you.

Hashim

i just signed the contract to fight again.

i only lost my last fight because these mma rules would not allow me to execute the bearded monkey technique. i am such a trained machine that i was about to do it, and i had to stop myself mid move technique and that is when i got caught. it's a good thing for him that there are rules in place. if i had performed the bearded monkey, i would have delivered a blow to my opponent's groin area, then a chop to the neck, then a fatal blow to the temple when he fell to the ground. all i can say is, in the streets, there are no illegal moves, 10 point must systems, or sportsman like conduct. if any of you saw that fight in the street, it would be a different match. i am a trained killer, in some states i have to register my fists as deadly weapons due to the vast martial arts experience i have.

for this next fight i will train mostly hapkido

i am also doing a seminar with a shaolin monk for this fight

WPR: BELLATOR 1

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/18/18b2.jpg

Well ladies and gentlemen welcome to this little tournament of ours here. We all know the stakes, a shot at my belt and 50 grand in the bank, as though anyone is here for the money, I look forward to seeing some serious violence in the coming weeks as the weak and stupid among you are weeded out and the true contenders emerge. As I have said before my manager is otherwise occupied and so he has asked me lend my particular brand of expertise in analyzing these fights. He also asked me to be unbiased, a request I politely declined. So let’s get to the task at hand and kick off this spectacle of brutality with the first fight in the WPR light weight tournament!

Manawydan "Sir" Fab Llyr vs. Tommy "Gun" Thompson

Wait, what the fuck? What are these fat bastards doing on our card? There really aren’t enough lightweights to fill out a card? God damn it, well anyway Fab llyr is a one dimensional muay thai guy with no ground game and Tommy is a boxer with a little wrestling who should be able to take llyr down and hold him there en route to a decision if he’s smart. If he’s dumb and decides to stand and trade then he’ll probably get knocked on his ass repeatedly as he isn’t anywhere near the striker llyr is.

Prediction: Tommy by decision

Dark Striker vs. Alex Pereira

Well then, let’s kick this tourney off for real with the first match which pits Dark Striker, a man who as his name might imply a pretty good boxer with some measure of wrestling, probably to keep it on the feet. He has no fights so let’s see what this kid can do here against Alex Pereira, a clinch specialist with a blue belt. He lost a boring decision to Saomony Khim in his first fight and TKOed Matt (who?) Diaz. He’s probably going to take this one if he gets close enough to clinch, and Dark Striker had better hope he’s got heavy hands otherwise he’s going to get smothered.

Prediction: Alex Pereira by TKO

Steve "The Squirrel" River vs. Brilliant Brian Winchester

And now for the match nobody is excited for, Steve River is an above average striker with absolutely no KO power whatsoever. Saying he hits like a girl is a serious defamatory comment to women everywhere. He couldn’t KO a guy who hasn’t won a fight, isn’t a striker and is currently retired at 20. Brilliant Brian Winchester is a new guy who has the skill set of every other sprawl and brawler who started 2 weeks ago. He was in a Cozad, and now he’s not training at all. I’d say it’s a step up. Every Cozad smells like the inside of Satan’s asshole and everything there is greasy for some reason. He has no fights but let’s be honest, if either one of these 2 got matched with anybody else they’d be crushed, so in the case of this once in a lifetime unskilled parking lot brawl the reality is they both lose.

Prediction: Steve River by decision (boring)

"El Diablo" Mauricio Melendez vs. Raijin Kage

Wow, a decent fight between half way decent fighters. Mauricio Melendez is a purple belt like me and has won all his fights on the ground, also like me. But he has yet to face anyone who can actually wrestle (unlike me). He can box a little as well making him a decent threat anywhere the fight might go. He’s coming off a tap out victory over Lungdumtu Amah a man I promised to tap but TKOed instead. Raijin Kage looks like a decent prospect and possible threat, nasty muay Thai with some wrestling and a brown belt, but he has no fights so who the fuck knows? Maybe he’s got a glass jaw or shits himself every time he gets hit, I suppose well find out.

Prediction: Melendez by submission

Leon Witcher vs. Nathan “Knuckles” Silver

Leon Witcher has gotten his ass handed to him twice since he got in the WPR and I got to say he seems pretty damn sad about it. He can win this fight with his superb wrestling but he might just be too sad. Too sad. Nathan Silver is a pure boxer and that’s all. Granted he’s good at it but this is MMA not boxing. He just can’t not punch. It’s all he does and that seems like a good way to wind up tapping quickly against anyone with any kind of ground game. But he isn’t sad. Not that sad. I’m pulling for Leon and I think he can pull this off. Plus I don’t want to see what he does if he can’t.

Prediction: Leon doesn’t kill himself (yet)

Project "Rated" XxX vs. Sum Crazy

Project XxX aside from having a stupid name, terrible grammar, being from Florida and a probable homosexual is actually a decent fighter. He likes to use the clinch to shut his opponents down and look for knees and elbows but he got knocked the fuck out in his last 2 fights. Sum Crazy is looking like a good fighter, has all the tools solid boxing and wrestling and a purple belt but is yet another one of these newcomers with no fights, no history and thus absolutely no fucking idea what he’s going to do. But since he isn’t from Florida or autistic I like him in this one.

Prediction: Sum crazy by submission

Grim Reaper vs. Jon “J-Melch” Melcher

Ahh Grim, Grim kicks hard. That is all. Jon Melcher is a ground fighter with good wrestling and a purple belt. He has a very questionable chin and is coming off a 5 second TKO loss in a QFC fight. If Melcher gets him to the ground he can win but as I mentioned earlier, Grim kicks hard. I suggest that all the fans in the front row be prepared to catch a head.

Prediction: Grim by kicking hard

"The One" Mr Anderson vs. Lungdumtu Amah

Mr Anderson is by all rights the real number one contender and probably shouldn’t have had to deal with this tournament bullshit before getting his title shot. He’s had three fights all of which ended in well under a minute. Lungdumtu Amah is a guy I TKOed by accident. Anderson’s going to eat him alive wherever this goes. Anderson should consider this round a bye before taking on some real competition in round 2.

Prediction: Anderson by whatever he wants

"Sir" Tristan Blancheflor vs. Nikola Mester

Look at these grappling motherfuckers! We have a couple brown belts in our main event. Both these guys are very similar, they like to work some ground and pound to eventually set up their submissions, but Mester is better off his back and 3 submissions from guard and hasn’t been tapped out before. Blacheflor has tapped before but later avenged that loss with a decision win over the guy that tapped him. Both these guys are very dangerous, shit they’re almost identical. It’s kind of a shame they had to meet in the first round because they would be a handful for almost anyone else here. But that being said Blancheflor has tapped and Mester hasn’t. That is the difference.

Prediction: Mester by submission.

Well guys since my divisions been shut down it looks like I get to watch this with all of you out in the stands not as fighter, but as a lifelong lover of the science of human destruction. May you all leave this hallowed hexagon of violence with your heads held high because win or lose as fighters we are eternally bonded in fire, we sharpen our selves against each other that we may become great at what we do and in that greatness come to know ourselves.

Good Luck and try not to lose consciousness.

So I have been thinking about ways to improve WPR even more (believe it or not it actually can still get better lol)...

I have heard numerous times from various people that Rio is so secluded from everywhere else and bla bla bla so I am considering hosting 1 or 2 events in other cities each month but that would obviously depend on the amount of interest there is... although I am already fairly sure quite a few of you are well in favor of that.

But for all of you based in Rio don't worry there will still be at least 4 events in Rio each month so don't be alarmed when you see and event in London or sumin... And if you are based in Rio and are booked for an event abroad I will book you in my private jet and/or someone else's..

Just thought I would fill you all in so you can keep an eye out for that!

Russian beast from Finland says hello. I call you out in public,

Mikala Konani, so you can't duck and decline behind the scenes like most of my opponents do. You think that you have great hands because you knocked out some bum who has no standup at all. It's curious to see if you want to crush cans or take the competition to the next level.

WPR: FIGHT NIGHT 3

http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1370544264348n221.jpg

Rakharo "Bomb" Bharbo vs. Franklin "Leão" Dos Santos

We kick our night off with (ironically) with a fight between 2 muay thai fighters. Rakharo Bharbo is new to the fight game and will enter the cage for his first fight here tonight. He comes in with good muay thai and a blue belt for when it hits the ground. He might have a long night ahead of him because Franklin Dos Santos edges him out in every category, slightly better Muay thai and a brown belt. Bharbo is going to get submitted if it hits the ground so his best option might be to just come out and swing for the fences. He isn’t quite as good as Dos Santos but its close and with him having no fights, who know what we’re dealing with. Maybe he has heavy hands, or maybe he has a glass jaw. Only one way to find out.

Prediction: Dos Santos by TKO

Sigurd "Brazzer" Silva vs. Jeffrey "Gas Chamber" Chambers

Sigurd Silva is a good boxer with a BJJ blue belt. He comes into the WPR in search of his first victory after losing in a QFC fight to a guy who just repeatedly took him down and layed on him. He’s got good hands and a blue belt. Unfortunately for him Jeffrey Chambers can do the same exact thing. Chambers is a good wrestler and a brown belt but he’s had a run of tough luck recently getting TKOed in his last couple fights by better strikers. But Silva is no Mr invincible and has proven his ineptitude on the ground, should be easy pickings for a brown belt like chambers.

Prediction: Chambers be submission

Silva Bones vs. "Serial Killer" Matheus Fonseca

Silva Bones is a solid muay thai striker and purple belt coming off a quick submission loss to Jeremy Crusher in his last fight. Other than meeting Crusher his ground game is proven taking home most of his wins with the submission. Matheus Fonseca is a superb wrestler and BJJ blue belt whose confidence has been getting crushed by his 4 fight losing streak. He has been submitted twice on his long run to the bottom and let’s hope for his sake he learned something from those losses because if he hasn’t he’ll probably windup doing it again.

Prediction: Silva by submission

"Buck" Tone Black vs. Jon "The Protege" Stock

Tone Black is another guy on a tough run dropping 3 of 4 since entering the Wolf Palace. He’s very well rounded with good boxing and wrestling and a blue belt. Jon Stock is also well rounded but doesn’t quite have the pedigree of Black. He’s had 2 fights in his career against 2 men who are currently retired at a very young age. He hasn’t faced anyone up to the level of Tone Black and Tone needs this win badly to remain a viable contender in the light heavyweight division. He’s got a slight edge just about everywhere but Stock isn’t going to go quietly. Expect a long hard fight with Tone getting his hand raised at the end.

Prediction: tone by decision

Andreas Donovan vs. Rodolfo Vieira

Andreas Donovan is a top level boxer with no other skills to speak of, no wrestling and training out of a Cozad. Viera is all ground game.

Prediction: Vieira by fucking Cozad

Ron "The Anchor" Burgundy vs. "Pouco Lobo" Renato Lita

Ron Burgundy is a sprawl and brawler with decent boxing and wrestling. He’s a WPR newcomer in search of his first career victory after dropping his only fight in a QFC event. But the man he faces might be one of those rare fighters, Those rare humans who are so awkward and unathletic that not even daily training and supplements can make up for his pure inherent shittyness. Renato Lita has had 4 fights and the best he’s ever done is a draw. He claims to have a solid chin but has been KOed twice. He’s confident for some reason but just can’t seem to put a W on his record and I believe he won’t ever do it.

Prediction: Burgundy by KO

Saleem Ibraheem Omar vs. Ben "Fly" Kupper

Saleem Ibraheem Omar is looking like a serious contender in the 205 lb division. He’s won his last 2 fights and his only loss is a split decision to Daemon Blackfyre. No shame in that at all. He’s got good muay thai, better boxing and world class wrestling. But if he has a weakness it might be his BJJ. But Ben Kupper has got the skills on the floor to test anyone at 205. He’s coming off a submission victory over fellow brown belt Rodolfo Vieira in his last fight. He’s got no striking to speak of so he’ll need to get this to the ground quickly or wind up getting his head removed from his shoulders by the evil striking Omar possesses.

Prediction: Omar by KO

Joachim Braga vs. "Sir" Percival Pellinore

Joachim Braga is a muay thai specialist who has begun to round out his game in other areas following the beating put on him by Diego Martinez. Braga got dominated in the clinch and ate many brutal knees en route to dropping the decision. He’ll be looking to rebound to his winning ways which saw him KO his first 3 opponents. But the man across from him is a terrible matchup. Percival Pellinore is a world class wrestler and ground and pound specialist who has TKOed every man he’s faced with his nasty ground assault. Braga doesn’t have the wrestling to keep Pellinore off of him or the BJJ to submit him from his back so his only real chance in the fight is to go balls to the wall searching for a quick KO. But Pellinore has seen plenty of strikers before and has always come out on top so I have no reason to doubt he’ll do it again.

Prediction: Pellinore by TKO

Kwan "Ruthless" Gracie vs. Dahl Haas

Kwan Gracie looks like he had his soul stolen in his submission loss, His only loss, to Luis Da Silva. He was on a 5 fight win streak before that fight and now he has no confidence and isn’t in a gym despite having plenty of money. Dahl Haas is a WPR newcomer but has the skills to put him on the fast track to title contention with superior boxing and a solid wrestling game. Couple that with the fact that he used his clinch game to TKO his last opponent and what you have is a very versatile striker with the wrestling to keep it there. His only real issue is that he’s a white belt so if his wrestling isn’t on point he is going to end up tapping. But Gracie looks like he’s done and I expect Haas to hammer the final nail in his coffin.

Prediction: Haas by KO

"The Unstoppable" Mr Invincible vs. Damien ONeill

In our main event of the evening we have Mr invincible a seemingly unstoppable striker who’s entire in ring experience is a total of 4 minutes. Keep in mind that he’s had 4 fights. He won them all. In his last outing he absolutely destroyed Kenny Powers, dropping him with a straight right before pounding him into oblivion before the ref jumped in. Kenny retired and plays baseball now if I remember correctly. But the man he faces is a tested proven champion from the well respected Crucible Fights org based in Finland. Damien ONeill is a world class boxer and superb wrestler coming off losing his title in his last fight, but he had 3 successful defenses before coming into the WPR. Quite a warm welcome indeed. ONeill has proven his KO power with 6 of his 7 wins by (t) ko. He might actually hold a slight edge on Invincible in the boxing department where Invincible tends to do his best work, I can’t believe I’m writing this but Invincible might want to shoot for a takedown and look to work his BJJ advantage (purple vs. blue). But I don’t think it’s going to happen. This will be a barnburner folks. One that won’t make the final bell. With the combined KO power of these 2 men in the same ring look for one of the mammoth men to hit the ground in a puddle of muscle and bone.

Prediction: Invincible by KO
