We have too many guys that walk around with too much testosterone on steroids and shit, king hitting people, beating up women and just being pricks to anyone who even looks at them sideways. It's a joke that a guy like this is "famous" when real tough guys, guys that go over into war zones and guys who stand for something bigger than themselves are unknown. We live in a world now where scum can become famous and actually be heard over the real heroes, a great example is of Jeremy Meeks who had his mugshot out online and all of a sudden has the option of a $30,000 a month modelling career thrust upon them because women think he's "hot" even though he's been arrested for weapons charges and previously for grand theft... In the same week that this went viral he got more than twice the amount of views than a returning war veteran from Afghanistan who received the medal of honour for diving on a grenade to save his friend losing an eye, having his teeth blown out, a shattered jaw, and 30+ surgeries. We live in a world now where the shit rises to the top and the people who are selfless and do great things go unnoticed. We live in a world where more people know what Kim fucking Kardashian wore to the EMMY's than who discovered penicillin. The world is fucked and I absolutely can't stand people like War Machine. Guest Posted October 17, 2014 Report Share Posted October 17, 2014 The poor guy needs a lot of serious help. Don't get me wrong though, this post IS NOT pity for his actions. Those were terrible and he clearly needs to be held responsible in some form for them. However, I don't really have faith in the correctional facilities to do what they're meant to do even if he is thrown into jail for the rest of his life. It's pretty easy to just put him in jail and throw away the key, but I feel like that kind of stuff avoids the key issues at hand (particularly for other people with similar problems who haven't lashed out violently). He's clearly mentally ill and struggling with a lot of stuff, and unfortunately for Christy Mack and others, War Machine happened to be a guy who had the capability of doing major damage as a result of his illness. He's a public face and an extreme example of a very common issue that just isn't looked after well enough in many parts of the world (here in Australia included). I guess I should have clarified, that it's not the adult industry that I'm against, it just seemed like once his star started to fade in MMA (the first time) he was still grabbing for attention and it led him to that. I am jealous that he didn't impact enough on my life that I actively wish death upon him and am disappointed he survived. I am also pissed that we have systems of justice and judiciary processes that take vigilante justice out of my hands and into the hands of those arbitrary twats like judges and juries. In a perfect world the jury would be not be made up by 'peers' but by the vocal, faceless masses of the various internet forums. The judge? A rotational system, voted monthly by the jury, where each candidate hurls extreme hyperbole regarding potential systems of punishment. The more out of proportion to the original crime/situation and draconian the higher they get scored by the jury. The lowest percentile scorers are removed from the competition and the next round starts and this continues until one person remains. They become the judge for the month. The executioner?
