Guest Posted December 12, 2014 Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 Carla Esparza vs Rose Namajunas - Carla will attempt to lay and pray with her good takedowns, but I think Rose has the submission skills (Carla doesn't look like she does much on the top). Also, everytime Carla comes in with her combo (though they looked good and fast vs Penne) she ducks her head down and you can guarantee Rose will see it and giver her an uppercut. Jessica Penne vs Randa Marcos - Carla is a very high level wrestler, and her takedowns were set up by her hands, but I don't see Penne staying off her back against Randa either. She's got good jiu-jitsu apparently, but I think Randa has the attitude and conditioning to break her. The other thing is, Penne showed some willingness to clinch it up with Carla and that plays into Randa's strengths. Jeremy Stephens vs Charles Olivera - Tough one to decide for me. Olivera missed weight even after the 1 hour grace period, and I'm picking Stephens based on both fighter's results against similar/same opponents. Olivera gets KO'd by Swanson and Cerrone, whilst Stephens gets UD'd... so picking Stephens (dat logic, I know) KJ Noons vs Daron Cruikshank Joe Proctor vs Yancy Mediiros Felice Herrig vs Lisa Ellis - Never seen Lisa fight outside the TUF house, so I'll go with what I know Tecia Torres vs Angela Magana - This could be one of the biggest mismatches of the year hahaha Joanne Calderwood vs Soohee Ham - I like JoJo, I like her skills, but if she keeps coming forward like she did against Rose, it's going to be bad against Hamderlei. She also doesn't look very comfortable at being hit (in the context of fighters, I'm sure she takes punches better than me)... and you better be ready for a war against Hamderlei. That said, Jojo could easily win this also as she'll have a big, big size advantage (not just length, but Hamderlei fights at Atomweight usually I think). Also... how can you root against Hamderlei? Bec Rawlings vs Heather Jo Clark - both don't really impress me much. Not sure Heather has it in her even with a mended knee Aisling Daly vs Alex Chambers - Aisling missed weight and I'm not convinced by her 'unorthodox' style. I feel like this label is used too much to paper over and sell bad technique. Who knows really, both these girls got beaten in the house by buzzsaws so it's hard to say where they're at. Gotta go for the Aussie girl though Emily Kagan vs Angela Hill - Experience vs Youth... I'll just go for Youth. I like her attitude from what I saw in the house. Has lots of improvement in her.
