Solitude 2

The Island, Paddy O’Malley’s Bar (700)
16th May

After a successful first event for Solitude, the management have decided to treat a higher number of fans of MMA on the Island to premier fighting. Headlined by Hardwood and Rasta, this will be another event for the record books.

Ryan "Dick" Hardwood vs. Smokie "Iron Lung" Rasta – 265lbs

Both fighters are currently 1-0 in their careers, Hardwood showed a strong chin in his debut and displayed tremendous heart coming from 2 rounds down to TKO his opponent in the final stanza. Rasta showed he has some of the most complete stand up striking at HW as he only missed 4 of his 35 strikes. Rasta decided to come to MMA after seeing more challenge in it for him than KT and here he stand waiting to face the tough nosed Hardwood.

Hardwood has been training for MMA his whole career, but he is still primarily a stand up fighter and against Rasta, I see that causing him massive trouble.

Prediction: Rasta via TKO

Luda Cris vs. Bob "Big Grumpy Bear" Hetfield – 170lbs

The main event is between strikers to satisfy the just bleed fans, the co-main event will please the lovers of the ground game as both men showed literally no stand up in their debuts, shooting in for the takedowns and working for submissions. Both fighters are very similar in their fight styles, but Cris may have the better wrestling but Hetfield is a renowned BJJ specialist.

It’s honestly a toss up to decide who wins this, Cris with his sturdier top game or Hetfield with his slick transitioning from submission to submission. I think Hetfield will eventually manage to lock up a submission at some point, Cris is only playing with fire the whole time he is on the ground and at some point he’s gonna get burnt.

Prediction: Hetfield via submission

Stannis Baratheon vs. Onslaught "Mean Man" Massacre – 155lbs

Again, both fighters are 1-0 but their fighting approach is different from the rest of MMA but similar to each other. They both have excellent stand up skills, with little to no wrestling ability but they make up for it with their outstanding offensive ground skills. Baratheon focuses on a kickboxing attack when standing whilst Massacre tends to stick to his hands more often.

I feel like Baratheon has the tools to win the fight on the feet or defend himself on the floor to win this fight.

Prediction: Baratheon via UD

Magnus Bravie vs. Silvio "Peluca" Soldan – 205lbs

Both fighters are perfecting the art of sprawl and brawling, with good defensive wrestling and some pretty crafty boxing skills. Bravie showed tremendous dirty boxing skills during his debut, lets see if he opts to take the debutant Soldan to the clinch and make this a gruesome fight.

My money is on Bravie, he has the experience and showed great power in his fight.

Prediction: Bravie via TKO

Johnny "The Money" Hetfield vs. Jack "The Pirate" Sparrow – 170lbs

Another of the Hetfield fighting family, Johnny has great stand up skills, particularly his kickboxing. He displayed crushing low kicks and fantastic punch kick combos. Sparrow is making his debut, but has shown very high level wrestling and a great ground game, but his stand up skills (or lack of) leave something to be desired.

I think “The Money” has the right fight style to defeat Sparrow, with his kicks and defensive wrestling ability.

Prediction: Hetfield via TKO

"The Bragger" Grant Hetfield vs. Dimo "Man Eater" Paballo – 170lbs

The final Hetfield fighter on this card, he faces the 0-1 Paballo. Hetfield has a similar style to his relative Johnny, with good kicks and punches combining with a good defensive wrestling base. Paballo is a sprawl and brawler with boxing and little to no kicks. Both fighters made their debut against each other, with Hetfield taking the victory in that fight in under 2 minutes.

I expect a similar result to the first fight, with Hetfield taking the quick KO win.

Prediction: Hetfield via TKO

Zadimus Delacroix vs. Marcus Pullman – 170lbs

Both fighters are making their debuts, not much to go on other than what we have seen during their training. Delacroix has the better boxing whilst Pullman takes the edge in wrestling. Whether Pullman will opt to take the fight to the floor or to use it defensively is still a mystery to most.

If Pullman decides to keep it standing, I see him being beaten by the better boxer.

Prediction: Delacroix via TKO

Tommy Big vs. Sipho "Rhino" Kunene – 265lbs+

The first Solitude Super Heavyweight fight sees Big facing Kunene. Both look to be good wrestlers with good stand up skills. I think Big will look ot use his Muay Thai in the clinch and his wrestling to control the action. Kunene has boxing, some wrestling but also a hint of a ground game.

I think Big will take this fight, his skills seem to be better made to beat what Kunene brings to the table.

Prediction: Big via KO

Harry Orinoco vs. Victor Slaughter – 265lbs

Both are good boxers with a wrestling game built around keeping them on the feet. Orinoco fell victim to what most HW’s fall victim to, power, during his debut. But his boxing looked to be crisp with signs of massive power in his fists.

I feel Orinoco wants to wipe his last loss off his mind and the fans, and I expect him to bring the power in this fight.

Prediction: Orinoco via KO

Tom "Surfer" King vs. Kevin Carmichael – 145lbs

King was maybe too eager to take the fight to the clinch in his last fight, being taken down from there and submitted. But he showed a good, aggressive clinch game. Carmichael is making his debut, his skills appear to be well rounded but not great anywhere from the looks of it.

I think King will take this to the clinch again and look to land punches in close. I believe that will be more than Carmichael can take, but without seeing him fight its hard to tell what he brings.

Prediction: King via TKO

There we have it, the Hetfield’s look to take over Solitude and many fighters look to start a successful career on the Island. Be sure to catch the event this Saturday 8pm GMT to check the results!

Solitude 3

The Island – Wild Bob’s Bar (750)
23rd May

Sponsored by Product of Champions nutrition store.

Solitude is back for its 3rd event showcasing some big names here on the Island.

Erik "The Red" Thorvaldson vs. "The Sheriff" Lucas Hood – 185lbs

Both fighters 2-0, but have vastly different skill sets. Thorvaldson has great boxing but he has faced wrestlers so far in his career who have quickly taken him down but he quickly submitted them. His wrestling may be lacking but he has great offensive BJJ and a promising boxing attack. Hood also has great boxing, particularly in the clinch where he prefers to spend most of the fight teeing off on his opponent.

I think that Hood will dominate this fight in the clinch with his dirty boxing, leaving Thorvaldson bewildered.

Prediction: Hood via UD

Nuke Laloosh vs. Johnny Sitko – 205lbs

Both fighters have excellent clinch games, their dirty boxing is on another level. Laloosh appears to have more stopping power than Sitko, but Sitko showed in his debut fight he is hard to hurt with strikes.

I think Laloosh will gain the slight advantage in the clinch during this fight for the win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Sitko wins either.

Prediciton: Laloosh via UD

"Masamune" Sephiroth Jenova vs. Johnny "Fucking" Chan – 265lbs

Jenova showcased excellent boxing as well as excellent clinch work in his debut. Chan also showed superb clinchwork but he made use of Muay Thai techniques such as elbows to bloody his opponent.

This should be a battle in the clinch, Jenova has good stopping power but Chan’s elbows might open him up. I think Jenova will avoid the clinch and use his boxing to its fullest effect at range.

Prediction: Jenova via KO

Kamil Nowak vs. Risto Riekko – 170lbs

Nowak has good kickboxing but his BJJ game is also outstanding with excellent submissions off his back. Reikko’s striking is amongst the best in the division, with great kickboxing technique and a good sprawl to keep him upright.

I think Reikko will be able to claim this fight with his striking. He won’t be taken down and his striking appears to be much better than Nowak’s.

Prediction: Riekko via TKO

Paulo "Piratito" Lazaro vs. Paddy "Monster" McGuiness – 265lbs

Both are very heavy hitters but Lazaro likes to fight from the clinch where he can generate incredible power in short distances with his fists, whilst McGuiness used his boxing to keep his distance and tee off.

If McGuiness can keep this at a distance he may be able to KO Lazaro but I feel Lazaro will bull his way to the clinch and do his thing.

Prediction: Lazaro via TKO

Janghong "Cornish" Pasty vs. Pista "The Yolk" Isvan – 205lbs

Pasty showed he has good power in his punches as well as an aggressive style whilst Isvan is making his debut. He looks to be a specialist in Muay Thai, whether he will take it to the clinch or use kicks remains to be seen.

I think Pasty is the safe bet with his aggressiveness and KO power.

Prediction: Pasty via TKO

Arthur Schopenhauer vs. Dava "The Assassin" Hashashin – 185lbs

Arthur is a great ju jitsu artist with wrestling to get him where he wants it. Hashashin is yet to make his debut, appears to be a sprawl and brawler with his offensive weapon being boxing.

I doubted Arthur last time round against a similar fighter, not again. All he needs is 1 takedown to win the fight and I believe he will secure it.

Prediction: Schopenhauer via submission

Mohammed The Muslim vs. Storm Johnson – 205lbs

Both making their debuts, they appear to be boxers with defensive wrestling to keep them standing. Johnson has the better boxing technique but Muslim has the better wrestling, maybe he will look to take it to the clinch where he can work for the better position.

Prediction: Muslim via TKO

"The" Jester Kiwi vs. Gorilla Monsoon – 265lbs

Again, both are boxers with adequate wrestling. Both were KOed in under 2 minutes during their debuts but Monsoon showed good heart, getting knocked down twie before the ref stepped in to save his skull.

I believe Monsoon’s ability to take a punch and come back will be the key to him winning this fight.

Prediction: Monsoon via KO

Willy Fistur vs. Richard "Dick" Winters – 185lbs

Fistur’s focus on kicks and submissions wasn’t enough to overcome a determined boxer with good wrestling. Winters appears to be a boxer with good enough wreslting to avoid Fistur’s attempts to take it to the floor.

Fistur has a great chin, I think he used his striking more with his wrestling to mix it up he could win.

Prediction: Fistur via submission

Thanks for reading this far

1-0-0

I see your hometown is called "Las Vegas"...Before I came to The Island, I paid a little visit to there...But unfortunately, for you, I burned it to the ground. Every man, woman and child, turned to cinders...When we fight this weekend, I will defeat you, I will destroy you...and finally, I will burn you to the ground...

Solitude 4
The Island – Paddy O’Malley’s Bar (700)
27th May

Welcome once again to another preview for Solitude on the Island. The first mid-week event for the org see’s potential superstars fighting to prove who is the alpha male early on. Let’s get to it.

Cornelius Christiansen vs. Magnus Bravie – 205lbs

Two of the top dogs at the moment in the light heavyweight division, both are undefeated and carry a similar style which should make this fight very interesting. Christiansen is an excellent sprawl and brawler, his punches carry enough pop behind them to do some serious harm and his takedown defence is impenetrable. He is a very active striker, especially in the clinch where he can use his excellent strength to sap his opponents energy, Christiansen also possesses a hell of a chin and is very hard to hurt. His opponent for his 4th fight and Solitude debut will be Bravie. Bravie holds considerable KO power and isn’t afraid to use it. He also works exceedingly well in the clinch where he unloads with an assortment of strikes.

This fight may pan out in the clinch where both fighters have shown tendencies to take their fights, but Bravie has the slight edge in boxing technicality and may opt to use it to keep his range and pepper Christiansen. However, I feel at some point this fight will go to the clinch and Christiansen’s ability to take a punch whilst remaining very active in close quarters will secure him a tough fought decision.

Prediction: Christiansen via UD

Smokie "Iron Lung" Rasta vs. "Die Muncher" Adolf Oliver Nippels – 265lbs

Rasta may very well be the best striker in the heavyweight division, with great kicks and punches and a solid clinch game he is a tough man to stand against. However his grappling is untested and Nippels himself is a fantastic wrestler who scored numerous takedowns in fights and uses his ground and pound to win.

Rasta will have to show great takedown defence to win this fight but Nippels is the safe pick, his wrestling, in theory, should be too much for Rasta to deal with.

Prediction: Nippels via TKO

Zadimus Delacroix vs. "The Bragger" Grant Hetfield – 170lbs

Both are strong boxers and have a very good sprawl. Delacroix has thunderous KO power in his punches and so far he has shown a great clinch game. Hetfield on the other hand has kept his 2 fights at range where he tees off with punches to the head and body, mixing his striking up nicely.

So far Hetfield has faced the same person twice, KOing him both times. But Delacroix KOed a person renowned for having a sturdy chin and I believe he will find an opening in Hetfield’s defence and capitalise.

Prediction: Delacroix via KO

Santino "Sonny" Carolla vs. "The Black Mumba " Motoumba Kalakoda – 265+lbs

Carolla is extremely tall with huge KO power and a very good boxing game, none of his opponents have lasted a round thus far. He faces ground specialist Kalakoda, once he gets the fight to the floor it usually means the fight is over as he will latch onto a limb.

Carolla has been training his whole career to fend of takedowns whilst landing punches and this seems to be a fight that he should have no trouble overcoming.

Prediction: Coralla via KO

Luda Cris vs. Selko "Ska Asap JR" Asap – 170lbs

Both fighters are cut from the same cloth so to speak. They possess top notch offensive wrestling and a lethal ground game. Cris may has shown the better submissions but Asap has shown the better ground striking. This will be a very close chess match on the ground.

This is a toss up on who will win, both are too similar to pick a fighter, but Cris is coming in with a bout of depression and I’m sure Asap will be even more aggressive to expose that weakness.

Prediction: Asap via UD

Count Chocula vs. Tom "Surfer" King – 145lbs

Both are very good strikers with a deadly clinch game. They are very active in the clinch, mixing up body shots with head shots very well. But at range Chocula should have the advantage with his superior boxing.

Tough fight to call but I’m going with Chocula who has shown better boxing and should be able to hold his own in the clinch.

Prediction: Chocula via UD

Tommy Big vs. Elijah Parker – 265+lbs

Both are similar fighters, with good Muay Thai and they like to use it in the clinch where they are most effective.

Big has the more experience and Parker is still an unknown commodity.

Prediction: Big via TKO

Molly "5:00 Free Crack Giveaway" Speedball vs. Silvio "Peluca" Soldan – 205lbs

Speedball is a sprawl and brawler, good boxing but his takedown defence is beautiful to watch. Soldan is a similar fighter, but his boxing is more technical than his wrestling.

During their debuts, both fighters liked the clinch, but only Speedball was successful there so I think he will be again.

Prediction: Speedball via TKO

Rodian Raskolnikov vs. Johnny "The Money" Hetfield – 170lbs

They have similar styles, with great kicks and good punches they like to use their kickboxing to keep them on their feet. Both also have some of the best chins in the division with the best punches not being able to hurt them.

This should be an interesting fight, the winner will be the one who mixes up his strikes more as neither is likely to score a KO. My money is on Hetfield, he has shown he can win and has good power in his strikes.

Prediction: Hetfield via UD

"Sexual" White Chocolate vs. Razval Saraev – 170lbs

Both making their debuts here, Chocolate seems to be a striker with a good sprawl game and some basic BJJ understanding. Saraev appears to be an offensive wrestler with a good ground game.

Tough to pick a winner but Chocolate should have enough takedown defence to see off Saraev, if not his ground game may suffice to keep him out of trouble.

Prediction: Chocolate via UD

That’s all folks, be sure to check in for the results on Wednesday.

Until then.
