Mehdi Kanaani and a reporter talked about upcoming fight:

Rep - Are you nervous for the upcoming fight? You fight a former champ and more bigger guy. He is a complete fighter, good standup and very good ground skills. Any words for what s next ?

MK - A bigger guy with no chin. Look, nobody wanted to fight him, I mean nobody from 170 that was not having a fight booked, don t get me wrong. This guy is tough as fuck but the problem here is me, I loose 2 fights with 2 guys that are not an easy fight with nobody. Now! All the fuckers talk shit about me including my opponent who decided to say that he will kill me. I don t think so, I loose 2 times in row because I was not myself, bad habbits and bad trainning. Win or loose I have nothing to loose but if I win and this guy loose his chance for a title is gone and for me to fight for 170 belt is here.

Rep - So do you sau that 170 gold is in your mind?

MK - I accepted this fight only for this guy. He is a big name like me, first 5 rounds non title fight on the line and for me is perfect.

Rep - You fighted at 135, you fighted at 145 and then at 155, now at 170. What s going on here?

MK - I fight anywhere I can fight. Some pussys say that I deserve that and I deserve this. Exactly how I sayed, I fight this guy for legacy and then all the unfinished buissnies from 155 and 145 will be on.

Rep - Once Zai Druggs refused to fight you, now he is retired and new champs are on the block. Once you saued that 145-155 gold will be yours. Still hungry?

MK - Yes, I am still in the game and still hungry but first I must rebuild myself. Last 2 fights showed me something, when you are top you can go down very easy so I must be focused.

Rep - Any last words?

MK - Mcwrestler, prepare man and let s put a great show and don t talk like a bad guy, you are killer now? Forget how many times you died in the ring? My skull is made of iron, I have no problem on getting hit. And for all shit talkers, suck my dick! I raise the hype of the rankings once, never droped! Always in the feet with my head up. Mustang, Jin Zhiao, Lyoha and many others just stay safe I am ready any time.

Top Fights for the coming week

CMMA XS5
19th August 2021

1629123380CMMA%20Xs5.jpg

155lbs: Lightweight Bout
(#2) Rod “Demon” De Minair (12-2) vs. (#9) Damien “Snake” Tonon (10-6)

Former CaliMMA lightweight champion Rod De Minaur attempts the first steps back on his comeback trail after recently losing the belt to new adversary Satanic Panic; a belt that he had held since October 2020 . He'll be taking on the tricky submission specialist Damien Tonon who also had the brakes put on his little run up the lightweight rankings recently after racking up a three fight winning streak.

These two fighters have yet to cross paths despite being in the same division and in the same organisation for well over a year. New match ups are always exciting and keep the division fresh for everyone involved and this one is no different. There's no question that De Minair is the bigger name here and could have easily argued a case for a higher ranked opponent for but being eager to get back into winning ways he took the fight and so must feel confident against Tonon's strengths which is the ground. Tonon himself might feel like he has a good chance to pull off a big upset here too considering De Minair now has two submission losses on his record and he himself specialises in tapping opponents out. We're likely looking at an out and out grappler versus striker showdown here but either way it's going to be a fight to keep an eye on.

205lbs: Light-Heavyweight Bout
(#2) Leonzar Kennedy (10-3) vs. (#3) Dude “The Dude” Dudeson (7-1)

Co-main event is quite likely a number one contender showdown in the CaliMMA light-heavyweight division. Recent challenger Leonzar Kennedy takes on the very last C4 205lbs champion Dude “The Dude” Dudeson.

Leonzar Kennedy rebounded nicely following his second failed attempt at Joe Dinapoli's belt with an assured performance against former Island star Tapu Koko at CMMA 134. However, the fact that Kennedy only just recently had a shot at the title means there are some questions about whether he would be given a third one so soon. Kennedy would need to put on something quite spectacular to put to rest any doubts that he is the man that should get the nod.

“The Dude” Dude Dudeson makes his long awaited debut in CaliMMA after an impressive 7-1 showing over at the now closed C4 org which culminated in him capturing their light-heavyweight title. A title he technically never lost. Something he did lose on his way out however was his previous manager and so not only will Dudeson be making his Cali debut here, he will also be doing it under the guidance of now manager Butch Harris.

Kennedy the heavy hitter. Dudeson who has never been KO'd. Definitely a potential fight of the night candidate right here.

CMMA 146

185lbs: Middleweight Bout
(#2) Barack Obaminator (12-4) vs. (#1) Manny Tavares (10-1)

Another two former champions meet for the first time here but I'm sure that they would both have preferred that it be for a nice shiny belt instead of merely being to get a foot back on the ladder.

Barack Obaminator looks to get a measure of revenge over camp Down as he faces off against another of his fighters Manny Taveres. Managed by former #1 Billy Arseworth, Obaminator just recently captured the CaliMMA middleweight title for the second time but relinquished it just as quickly on the first attempted defence against undefeated Carter Wright. Now it's back to business once again and there's no easy comeback fight for the two time champion as he faces a seasoned fighter such as Taveres.

Tavares is currently on a two fight winning streak but right now has little option than to act as a gatekeeper to stable mate Carter Wright and patiently bide his time and wait for his own opportunity for another crack at his old belt.

Tavares might not have the trademark KO power that you can usually expect from camp Down and this could be a big key to victory for Obaminator who might not have the most reliable of chins. Obaminator is incredibly well rounded however and seems to have been developing a solid stand up game to go along with his already established submission skills. A very even fight overall and difficult to pick an obvious winner. Anything could happen including a fair possibility of going to a decision.

170lbs: Welterweight Bout
(#4) Mental Warrior (10-3) vs. (#1) Demetrius Jackson (7-0-1)

Something of a grudge match up here as the games current #1 manager pits his charge against the mmatverses grumpiest management team in a battle to determine just who can be the most miserable of them all.

First up, the former CaliMMA welterweight champion from days past, Mental Warrior. Though his last title reign ended last year in the earlier stages of the org he has managed to remain a consistent figure in welterweight division and in fact only just recently failed in his attempt to recapture the belt he once held when he faced champion Konrad Wagner for the first time and lost by way of third round TKO. Now it's back to business and he faces and up and comer who has been racing up the 170lbs rankings lately and is currently on a seven fight winning streak.

Demetrius Jackson is currently undefeated at 7-0-1 and so far in his short professional career has looked like one of the most promising future prospects at his weight. A chin made of iron and enough firepower to trouble most men, Jackson has his sights firmly set on the welterweight crown and will not let anyone stop him.

Jackson's chin will face a stern test at the hands of Warrior who has a frightening record of KO wins to his name and is the slightly larger of the two. Both very even on the feet and in the grappling department makes this a hard fight to call though perhaps the edge would be given to Jackson as the undefeated prospect here.

CMMA 147
21st August 2021

205lbs: Light-Heavyweight Bout
(NR) Dempsey O'Neill (8-3)  vs. (#4) Jeremiah Hill (6-1-1)

Two up and coming prospects clash in the headline bout of CMMA 147 both with an eye towards the light-heavyweight title.

Dempsey O'Neill is 3-2 in his last five and definitely isn't quite matching up to the standards set by #1 manager Andy Down but the potential is there and he just needs to start putting it together on a more consistent basis.

Jeremiah Hill is managed by a former #1 manager in Alex K. and is gradually making his way up the CaliMMA light-heavyweight rankings after moving over from the now closed up C4 org. He is 2-0 since arriving with big wins over top 10 fighters Bradley Beast and Elijah Heartless.

O'Neill has the slight edge in the striking department which is significant as he is known as a powerful puncher with a devastating record of KO's to his name. Hill has never been finished in eight fights however and with a top tier management team behind him is likely to have a few tricks of his own up his sleeve. A potential styles clash here so don't rule out a draw being on the cards.

135lbs: Bantamweight Bout
(#9) El Pablo “Tooth Collector” Ernesto (13-6) vs. (#3) Stefan “Sparta” De Vries (13-7)

Two very active fighters in the Cali flyweight division take the co-main event spot at 147 and that is 13-6 El Pablo Ernesto and 13-7 Stefan De Vries.

Afghanistan's El Pablo Ernesto (we're pretty sure that's not his real name) has spent the majority of his career fighting in the wild west that is QFC. He has had a stint over at KoF before and actually did well enough to earn a shot at their 135lbs title which he unfortunately fell through. From there it  was back to the QFC before joining the professional ranks once more here at Cali and so far, with a record of 2-1, things haven't been going to bad at all.

Opponent Stefan De Vries is actually a former champion here at Cali in the 145lbs division from way back at CMMA 9. He defended it one time against current title challenger Caio Peieira before losing it to Zai Druggs at CMMA 23 and has never quite been able to get back to that same level again. He is now on his best run of form since that time with a three fight winning streak and if he keeps going here there is every chance that he earns another shot at some gold.

Both fighters hit hard for such lightweight divisions so a finish could definitely be on the cards here. Neither have any real ground skills so it's even more likely we get to see a good old scrap on the feet. An ageing De Vries has a little more invested in this one as a fighter on a notable winning streak but really, this one could go either way.

CMMA 148
22nd August 2021

205lbs: Light-Heavyweight Title Bout
(Champ) Joe “Levels” Dinapoli (14-0) vs. (#1) Sora Izanagi (7-1)

Unquestionably the biggest star in California right now is undefeated light-heavyweight champion Joe “Levels” Dinapoli and he is back inside of the CaliMMA cage attempting to equal former featherweight star Zai Druggs for most successful title defences at eight in a row. He'll be taking on the number one contender, 7-1 Sora Izangagi.

Izanagi represents a new challenge for Dinapoli as a fighter that has only recently made his way to the west coast and will be meeting for the first time. With practically half of the amount of fights as Dinapoli and nowhere near the popularity or hype as Dinapoli, Izanagi has a massive opportunity to turn into a superstar overnight. That's not to say he doesn't this shot as he does. Since arriving from the now defucnt C4 organisation with a 5-1 record and a decent buzz surrounding his name, he has managed to pick up big wins against top 10 ranked fighters Dempsey O'Neill and Moritz Zimmerman and push his way to the front of the queue.

One reason that Izanagi perhaps hasn't quite captured the hearts of fans like Dinapoli has is his decision heavy fighting style. Already five out of his seven wins have been via the judges decision compared to Dinapoli's thirteen out of fourteen KO victories. Suffice to say that Izanagi's fans may be concerned with the punching power of the champion but as so far, Izanagi has held firm having only ever lost one fight by decision.

A lot on the line for the champion here as well as the fact he and manager Igor Peixoto would have just witnessed stable mate Rod De Minaur lose his twelve fight winning streak after dominating the lightweight division for over a year. With the pressure on, could another big upset be on the cards? The only way to find out is tune in folks.

205lbs: Light-Heavyweight Bout
(#5) Vito “Firecat” Corleone (9-5) vs. (NR) Elijah Heartless (6-2)

Fans of Vito “Firecat” Corleone will no doubt be hoping that the Chilean fighter can pick himself up and dust himself off after his failed attempt at taking the light-heavyweight crown from 360k megastar Joe Dinapoli. It was a disappointing performance from the sensational wrestler with Dinapoli able to avoid all of Corleone's takedown attempts which was one of the key factors mentioned going into this fight. Still, Corleone is former champion elsewhere and there is little concern for his future at this early stage.

His opponent Elijah Heartless returns to the cage after a disappointing first outing under new management where he lost a rather one sided decision to gritty fighter Jeremiah Hill. Aside from the result, it was the performance that baffled fans as Heartless relentlessly pursued take down attempts and stubbornly refused to mix it up in any other way. The result was a predictable 30-27 decision from the judges in favour of Hill and once more pushed Heartless away from a return to the division Top 10.

Both fighters have a good record of finishes to their name but with markedly different skills sets to help them achieve it. This should make for an interesting showdown as well as the fact that these two have yet to cross paths. Not many would predict this going the whole three rounds but based on Heartless' last performance he would need to put on a much better performance for any chance at victory. Corleone will be the fairly sizeable favourite here.

Super stoked to have El Butcherino back on the posters. Makes each event just that little bit more special.

Also, just wanted to give a quick shout out to all the managers at Cali but a special thank you to those that toil away in the undercards and lower end of the divisions without complaint and just seemingly enjoy the ride. No org could run well without this special breed of chilled out manager and I just want to go on record by saying "I appreciate you"

Top Fights for the coming week

CMMA 149
27th August 2021

185lbs: Middleweight Title Bout
(Champ) Carter Wright (9-0-1) vs. (#3) Mustafa “Shaka” Owens (7-1)

Over the past few months, the middleweight title bout has been changing hands like a hot potato. First Manny Tavares lost the belt to Principo Adam and then Adam lost it to former champion Barack Obaminator. There was high hopes for the second reign of Barack but then he lost it to now current champion Carter Wright.

There's no question that Wright is a bad mofo with a streak of vicious KO finishes to his name. Still yet to find a single man that can hold up to his ferocious punching power, it's no real surprise that Wright has come straight over to the west coast and instantly taken his place at the top of the mountain. Number one contender Mustafa “Shaka” Owens will look to be the first man to end the nine fight undefeated winning streak of Wright and whilst many are probably overlooking him in this one, he is actually pretty well placed to cause an upset. Owens himself is riding high on a seven fight streak of wins and though not all have been by knockout like his opponent, the fact that he has been victorious overall is all that really matters.

All signs point to a stand up war with Carter Wright's granite chin taking on the big right hand of Mustafa Owens.

170lbs: Welterweight Title Bout
(#3) Dude “El Duderino” McWrestler (9-4) vs. (NR) Mehdi “The Persian Nightmere” Kanaani (11-5)

Co-main event of CMMA 149 is a bout that was constructed entirely online. Vocal social media presence Mehdi Kanaani responded to Dude McWrestlers post fight statement and answered the call for an opponent sooner rather than later. Game as always, however, “The Persian Nightmere” is currently on a two fight losing streak and his choice of call out may raise some eyebrows considering Dude McWrestler has hit as high as #3 in the welterweight rankings of late and is homing in on title contention. Now with a successful debut under new management under his belt too, McWrestler is clearly a man who is enjoying his time in the cage and this is evidence in his eagerness to get back into it as quickly as possible.

Mehdi Kanaani is always a tough fighter for anyone he faces and he is still yet to be knocked out or TKO'd in anyway. Still, there are many here who believe that he has bitten off more than he can chew this time with a drop back down into a lighter weight class and the fact that McWrestler seems to have the edge on him in every area. Definitely a fight not to miss and we don't doubt that these two warriors will keep in interesting in the lead up to the fight.

CMMA 150
28th August 2021

265lbs: Heavyweight Title Bout
(Champ) Beau Abner (10-0) vs. (#1) “The Nobleman” Adils Hallbjornsson (11-1)

An absolutely massive fight in the 360k heavyweight tycoonsphere with undefeated CaliMMA champion Beau Abner taking on former champion Adils Hallbjornsson.

With a successful title defence now under his belt, Beau Abner has gone a way to proving that he isn't just some flash in the pan heavyweight fad and is in fact the real deal. With only a short ten fight professional career, Abner has already managed to claim two heavyweight belts in two separate organisations as well as maintain his viscous habit of knocking out everyone he faces. With no shortage of tough customers included in his list of victims, his next opponent could well be his toughest test to date.

It didn't take former champion Adils Hallbjornsson very long at all to bash his way to the front of the line again and earn himself the opportunity to reclaim his heavyweight title. With a quick first round TKO over Dimitri Svyatogor and then a spectacular second round superman punch KO over top five ranked Richard Rockefeller most recently, Hallbjornsson looks ready to rock and roll once again at the top of the California MMA heavyweight division.

A first time meeting for these two warriors makes the bout all the more interesting. It's hard to say how Hallbjornsson will feel about facing someone different for the title other than the man who took it from him in the first place but it's doubtful he would care if he would be able to hold it aloft his head once more. For Abner, a title defence is basically par the course for him with now half of his professional fights being so. Still, this could be a very tricky situation for him as Hallbjornsson looks to have a very slight edge in the stand up and even more so on the ground. He does now have that sole knockout loss from Kjetil Olsen on his record though and no doubt that is what Abner will be fixated on exploiting here.

145lbs: Featherweight Bout
(#1) Abdelrahman Camara (14-3) vs. (#3) Middle Finger (9-3)

Featherweight action precedes the main event at CMMA 150 and what is quite likely to decide the next title contender at 145lbs. #X ranked 14-3 Abdelrahman Camara takes on #x ranked 9-3 Middle Finger.

Both fighters have a few things in common coming into this bout but the main ones are that they have both changed management teams at least once in their careers and that they have both had failed title attempts thwarted by disgraced drug cheat and former champion Zai Druggs.

Both fighters capable stand up strikers but with Finger seemingly packing the bigger punch. He hasn't yet failed to KO an opponent in his wins but he does have a couple of losses via the same way himself. Camara is a level ahead on the ground however and has put his BJJ brown belt to good use in the past with a few submission victories scattered around his win column as well as KO's and decisions. This all round danger is what is going to be most difficult for Finger to navigate but also what's going to make this bout one to tune into.

135lbs: Bantamweight Title Bout
(Champ) Tekashi Six Nine “King of New York” (7-0) vs. (#1) Caio Peieira (11-6)

An established champion at KoF:IW before and now an instant star in the California MMA bantamweight division, Tekashi Six Nine returns to make the first defence of his newly won championship belt after defeating Rounin Hashima by third round TKO at CMMA 133.

His opponent is former flyweight title contender Caio Peieira who is a fighter who holds the distinction of helping to lay the first brick here at CaliMMA. A feature in the organisation since the very start of it's inception, Peirera now makes a third attempt at his first title here but this time in the lower weight class of 135lbs. His drop down from 145lbs has so far yielded positive results with finish wins over El Palblo Ernesto and former KT star Charlie River.

Six Nine, undefeated in seven bouts and with four finishes to his name, looks to have the advantage on the feet. Peieira no doubt the submission specialist with eleven out of eleven wins coming from the ground but at this point, with six KO losses also on his record, it's fair to say that his chin is suspect at best. Can Six Nine keep his undefeated streak going or will CMMA veteran Peieira finally realise his dream of becoming a champion. Make sure to check out the result folks.

185lbs: Middleweight Bout
(#9) Peguero Jean “Vit Chat” Philippe (11-4) vs. (NR) Quintus “Bestiarii” Dias (8-4)

Former champion Peguero Jean Phillipe looks to continue his climb up the rankings when he takes on former C4 champion Quintus Dias.

So far, a change of management for Phillipe has served him well enough with two wins out of two aiding his quest for a return to glory. Both of those wins have come by KO in the second round and no doubt he'll be looking for a little more of the same here too.

Dias' form has been a little spotty of late managing only two wins out of his last five and he has so far no quite been able to climb into the top 10 here at CMMA. A win over Philippe here would likely to the trick however and Dias would surely love nothing more than to keep his winning streak going.

High chance of a finish in the one with both fighters favouring the stand up. Dias has the slight edge in skills but Phillipe has never had a problem so far with taking people out.

BREAKING NEWS

Lightweight Champion Keith Seng has unfortunately been stripped of his title due to activity.

A real shame as Seng had only just recently acquired the belt after an upset win over the notorious Satanic Panic at CMMA 141.

We hope Seng and his manager Wan Wilder are ok and that it's simply a case of the mmatycoonies and we hope to see him back real soon.

Mehdi Kanaani about his winning over Dude Brickhead Nowrestler:

  - Short notice fight? Check. Bigger opponent? Check. Nr 3 ranked at 170? Check. So, what now? What you have to say now? I outclassed you and now I can ask everyting I like because I talked the talk and walked the walk so sit down junior, you dominated all of these fighter to embrace yourself like this. The judges were on your side, 48-48? Fuck you and the judges. No rematch nothing just you with this loose. Give me what I deserve uncle Alfred, give me back my rank because I just beat the guy that nobody wanted him to fight, I beat him in 5 rounds no 3 so I maked history with him. Dude, be humble next time because I sayed to you to not underestimate me! And all of these mothercukers that talk shit about me, I fighted at 135, at 145 when Druggs refuzed to fight and retired like a cbomb at 23! I fighted at 155 and loose 2 fights because of my shit moode. Now I fighted at 170, 4 weight classes and still looking sharp and fresh. Thanks Cmma for the honour fighting 5 rounds in the first no title fight, I asked once when I fighted Estili but now I am convinced, we need more fights like this. So, be humble all of you little shits that talk bad about me because I maked history.

Dude "El Duderino" McWrestler

Our gameplan was miserable, don't know why the team wanted me to allow him take me down every time he shoots, yea.. that's it, no problem, I will be back, can't put the blame on someone, I was the one who was fighting inside that cage, see you into the next one, the rematch should happen at some point, congrats to Mehdi.
