10thPlanetKT
Hello MMA Tycoon community I just came to the realization that the combo of Punches, Knees & Elbows are viable weapons in the clinch. As you know Mike Tycoon increased the power of clinch knees and elbows not to long ago and decreased punching effectiveness. The clinch for a long time has been a mystery in trying to get it to work because as you know, most players usually only dirty box in the clinch or try to break it all together when fighting a wrestler or BJJ artist. Although my fighter Marious La de Hoya due to aging lost a significant amount of power due to age, he was able to get a TKO with the combination. I think with the right training it can not only be used in KT but in the tycoon MMA world as well. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentaryold.php?FTID=1006329 (TKO Knees) 91% Head punches connected/ 80% Body Punches Connected/ 75% elbows connected/ 50% Head Knees/ 77% Body Knees I don't say this to brag but only to change the perspective on the community that believe that Knees and Elbows are useless and Punches are better. The combination of them is way better than using punches alone. Also I will be testing the strategy of adding takedowns and pull guard as well to see if the unpredictably increases the % of successful actions in the clinch as well. Let me know what y'all think. Will any of you try to give Knees and Elbows a shot? I imagine that a fighter with high KO power in the super heavyweight divisions could use the slider mix strategy successful, especially if they have a black belt and good takedowns as well.
Monsieur.Camara
I`ve had some fantastic results in MMA with Elbows: https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=984427 https://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=312691 A lot of it came from getting shredded by Kneevil, I knew I had to take my game to a new level, ouch: https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=968644 I`m not too sure if the game is optimal for a Knees + Punch + Elbows specialist except of course in KT due to the skill cap. I mean it`s doable but I still see Kicks as more important than Knees or Elbows in MMA. 1
10thPlanetKT
I'll definitely check them out always willing to learn, I agree it does come with a cost though. That means a fighter will have to sacrifice either submissions or escapes in order not to mess up the build because of the skill cap. However managers that like to keep fighters with "ok" hiddens can benefit from using a diverse skill set in the clinch and lose a lot less fights. That is why I try to stay away from heavyweight TBH because as soon as I try to clinch I'm just going to get counter KO blasted in the face. gwad12345
The Chief was wrecking cats with this combo back in the day before any supposed buff. He could and did beat any and every striker in the game at 170 for a time. The sacrifice was grappling skills however and he was beaten quite easily by a few grapplers. Still wouldn't have done it any other way, was a very fun fighter to manage.

callmepoppa1
I go for punches and elbows, I would be willing to attempt punches and knees. In my opinion to have all three is too great a sacrifice in other departments. I'm sure it's a lot of fun in the fights where it doesn't matter too much, though. Rambo
Elbows exploit low cuts fighters better than anything else in the game, but... you can't elbow to the body.

10thPlanetKT
Yea unfortunately it is not possible to do that but I try using it as a mixup attack to remain unpredictable since there are no "predict clinch" settings. It is still an experiment however I still believe that it could work.
gwad12345
I also remember another fighter fighting at a high level many years ago who used only elbows and knees (and maybe kicks) but definitely no punches. His boxing primary was at best mediocre - presumably only being improved during striking defense and clinchwork training. Someone else may remember more details. Rambo
Tappy was a savage. He was and I almost beat him with an out-skilled Orlando Diggs. Had I been a little more patient and waited a cpl months probably would of pulled it off. Was worried Gwad was gonna drop an L to somebody else so I rushed it... and fail. Diggs had a minor bleeding issue by the final bell, so you never know. Good thing RFC doctor from Kilo's fights wasn't there.

Maybe RNG, maybe sliders, maybe a combination but regardless put Diggs at a serious disadvantage for the rest of the fight although Diggs still did win the next two rounds.

Maybe RNG, maybe sliders, maybe a combination but regardless put Diggs at a serious disadvantage for the rest of the fight although Diggs still did win the next two rounds. Always a combination. Clinch separated it; Chief great wrestler vs Diggs good wrestler. Maxed out fighter vs hyper-active fighter fresh out of an ID org and didn't spend 6 months cooking in peak of learning curve. Diggs was out there getting his gloves dirty and bullying Ryan's fighters, and probably getting nerfed by your boys for it. In fact, all my guys on that card that punked Ryan's fighters may have had points shaven by those cbombs lol. Most probable results Diggs vs Chief, both fight maxed out and both in prime, probably just as likely Diggs wins UD (4-1 or 3-2) that Chief wins TKO (cut) in 5 round fight. Capped out Diggs would of had much less issues breaking the clinch, but still a bleeder and Chief has crazy power. Diggs had skill set to lock him down Wilder Wein style + chin/heart combo to not get hurt or ktfo + confidence which is always more important vs low confidence fighters. Chief's confidence left him open to struggle vs aggro/accuracy elite strikers if they jumped out to early energy lead if he couldn't KO. That was an interesting blend of genuine commentary with complete fiction peppered in. Agree with most of what you say about Chief. Chief was only ever soundly beaten (in his prime) by one striker and that was Wilder Wein who was another true beast. You could also say Ricky Rocker dominated him standing up and tbh you would be right. Not completely convinced that's a confidence thing as my other all time great Rockmeteller Todd was able to beat Wein (just) and he had even less confidence. Could just have easily been a bunch of bad luck and faulty sliders. 1

gwad12345
Could also point out, seeing as people seem interested, that Chief was among the first batch of 18yos I ever created - I didn't really know what I was doing. Even more than that, he was created for a KT creation tournament (hosted by none other than Convicted). That ironically was probably my most embarrassing performance in a creation tournament ever - they were kind of my specialty back then. Kinda stumbled into the build.

10thPlanetKT
When I max out the rest of his skills I'll try it out with him below so that the skill cap doesn't screw it up I'll probably give up escapes or submissions or both so that I can have all three. Rafael "The Capoeira King" De La Rosa (352297) (5-0) http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=352297My KT 350+ fighter Rafael has a granite chin and 130+ Power at only 133 pounds and I think that I could pull it off if I keep experimenting with the sliders as I still need to work on it. Stall still seems like something that is an option to work against Knees Elbows and Punches if aggression is not high enough. Perhaps in the future I'll move him up to 170 for the damage increase. Hey Rambo when it Danzai's 350+ tournament? I might try to see if I could recreate Chief via Rafael.
