MMATycoon
Today sees the first stage of a revamping of the clothing and nutrition companies. The current system is honestly just a bit boring, particularly nutrition. A couple of big companies make a super product and everyone buys from them. That’s not a problem in principle it just means there’s no thought process involved in buying supplements… you get enough money and you buy from one place – it’s not very interesting for the buyer and likewise it’s not that interesting for the owner. You make the sups, you sell the sups, you re-order the sups when they run out. Dull. So in order to make stuff a bit more interesting and in order to make managers and company owners have to think about stuff a little more, we’ll be bringing in a few new measures. 1. Companies can now order a maximum of 2500 units per calendar month. - I have been monitoring the sales of all companies for about 20 days and Non-Stop Nutrition has sold the most, averaging about 2000 units per week. After that there is a big drop off, to around 800-1000 units per week for 5 or 6 companies. In total, about 10 companies will have exceeded 2500 sales in the last month. Most of them have a good amount of stock though, so this will take a month or two to have any sort of effect. - Eventually though, these companies will have to have a strategical rethink. Hopefully this will mean the better rated supplements will become more expensive, to add a bit more variation and thought into what products people buy. - It will also (hopefully) mean that each city will develop their own high quality nutrition store. 2. Awards. If companies sell out over the course of a month, then the rest of the month is a bit pointless for that company owner, so to combat that we're introducing some awards. 2a. “500 weeks”. If you sell 500 units in a week (Sunday to Sunday), then you will get 1x “500 week”, noted on your company profile. This is a measure of sustained high sales. - It is possible to get 4x500 weeks per month but you’ll only have 500 extra units of sales to play with so it will require a bit of thought by the company owner, to spread out the sales (perhaps by taking products off sale for a while)…. Of course, a month is a bit longer than 4 weeks, so take that into account. - Also, smaller companies will be able to offer promotions to get a “500 week” and get themselves noticed. - If you achieve a 500 week, you will get a hype boost for your company. 2b. Manager trophies. We’ll be rolling out trophies like we have for fighters. This will be for fights themselves (e.g. 10 wins etc), but will also be for running successful companies. Details TBA but should be sorted within a week. 3. Magic white t-shirt/shorts change. To generate more clothing sales, the effectiveness of magic white clothing will be decreased. If your fighter has more than 2 fights and is wearing magic white clothing, their morale will slowly drop, to a cap of 130 out of 150. Currently wearing magic white clothing doesn’t increase or decrease morale. This change will not affect fighters with less than 2 fights, to enable newer users to ease into the game. This will be brought into effect in about 2 days, to give people time to buy their fighters some clothes. 4. Weekly sales table. We have created a league table of the top 25 nutrition and clothing companies, now displayed on the highstreet. This is a “last 7 days” sales table, so just because you get over 500 on this table, doesn’t mean you’ve got a “500 week”, to get a 500 week, you need to be over 500 when the script runs on Sunday. (Time 11pm GMT). Additionally, each company page will display their unit sales in the last 7 days, even if you’re not on the top 25 list. So… hopefully that makes these two types of company a bit more interesting both to run and to shop from! Thoughts welcome as always – yes, there’s a cap in there but hopefully you’ll agree that it’s there to make things more interesting rather than simply to constrain. N.B. I have set all nutrition products to “off sale”, so that the owners of the shop can decide what they want to do, strategy-wise, before they put their stuff back on sale. Clothing has been left unchanged, as those items are not as significantly affected. Also, there may be future developments to make nutrition/clothing more interesting but these will be discussed ahead of time… obviously this change couldn’t have been discussed ahead of time because all the nutrition companies would have just ordered a load of stock before the cap came in! Guest
Seems like a good thing Mike. Personally Id like to see some kind of "hyp" or "reputation" thing for gyms aswell, in the future.
hitmanz
So to make it clear the magic white will be affecting total morale points since magic white's have 100 points and new clothes have 150 points and full morale is 150 points. How often do you guys change your shirt/shorts combos? Meaning when you buy clothes it's 150 and goes down 1 point per day , you would buy new clothes when it reaches how many points? Guest
Oh, this is just splendid, thanks Mike! I just started a business and was wondering exactly the problem that got just solved: How to sell anything when there are gigantic companies selling higher quality with low prices. Great job! heinen
You need to put an update in the wiki, and implement this information somewhere in the game. Especially in the create company section, and somewhere where the managers know about the magic clothes.

Guest
I'm surprised that nobody started to complain yet. This means that supplements will become a lot more expensive. The good thing about that is that it gives money a little bit more value again. I will have to ask ask for better contracts from the org managers now. 1/1/1 from Blitzkrieg FC simply won't do anymore.
MMATycoon
I'm surprised that nobody started to complain yet. Me too, it's nice though I don't think it will make supplements that much more expensive to be honest. They can't go over $300 anyway and Non Stop is already $200. Guest
Sorry ... a bit of a noob here, but is it possible to check the quality of the supplement before buying it? For some odd reason I cant figure out how to see a products quality.
Guest
About the white shirt/shorts: is it 2 fights from today, or 2 fights from when we created the fighters? Also I was wondering if you could make sponsorships more lucrative, since there is no need for cloth-/sup companies to sponsor anyone at the moment. It would be great if we could profit from gaining sopnsors as fighters and they in return earn rep or something based on what fighters they sponsor. It would bring one more dimension to the clothes-/sup. company element.
Guest
there is no way, you just have to buy from a reputable company

The second bit is just how it work now / has always worked.

SonnyMuchacho
Good move. It's definitely a positive for small sup companies (like mine). Should even the playing field a little.
