Fireballer34
Week 1 Review Goodman vs. Stan 2 fighters who have never thrown a punch in their lives, going at it in this first bout. Stan has a bit of a Grappling advantage, while Goodman has G&P tendencies. They both sub spammed right out of the gate, and Stan got a Guillotine after 1:56 of round 1. Maluga vs Rowland The offspring of Kilo Maluga, Beluga Maluga is a striker who will pound you into the ground. Rowland is a striker with some nasty knees, but no clinch work so it’s useless (that ones my bad). Maluga didn’t look like he wanted to kill Rowland, but after 3:47 of round 2, his strikes finally got through, knocking Rowland out. Gilmore vs Ewing Ewung is your typical striker, Gilmore is a striker but with some sneaky wrestling mixed in. Nothing much happened in the standup, but when Gilmore shot in for a takedown, it was over. Gilmore dropped a bomb elbow, rocking Ewing, then pounded him some more until the ref had to step in. Week 2 Preview Stan vs Goodman Both fighters have worked on their punches since the first event, but this one will still likely be decided on the ground. Prediction: Stan by Anaconda Choke 2:15 of Round 1. Maluga vs Rowland Rowland has been working on his clinch work, but his knees still probably won’t get through, and now that Maluga is looking for a quick KO, this one might be over quick. Prediction: Maluga by TKO Strikes 1:36 Round 1. Gilmore vs Ming Ming will want to take the to the clinch, where he can showcase his punches and knees, while Gilmore will most likely keep it on his feet for a while, then shoot takedown and ground and pound. Prediction: Gilmore by TKO Strikes 3:09 Round 1. Ewing vs Ford Ford, a sub artist with some standup talent as well, looks to beat the 0-1 Ewing. Ewing wants to get this to the clinch for the KO, Ford wants this on the ground. Prediction: Ford by guillotine 0:56 of round
Fireballer34
The Gilmore-Ming fight is over, and it was frighteningly close to my prediction. Ming landed a few great punches on the feet, and when Gilmore realized he couldn’t survive long there, he took down Ming with ease. Gilmore never landed a huge blow, but rather wore down and dazed Ming with his ground and pound, and at 2:54 of round 1, the ref had to step in and save Ming from his beating. Gilmore had now almost guaranteed not getting released at the end of camp, with 2 strong KO wins. Ming looks to bounce back against his likely opponent Oliver Ewing, the other 170 striker, and the winner may survive this camp. Meanwhile Gilmore likely will face Kareem Ford, a sub artist, and this will be tough to see which will win, G&P or subs.
