    • When it is just one guy (for 99% of this game's existence) doing all of the development then life, somehwat inevitably, will & should be expected to get in the way. Mike by his own admission had not been focused on the game for a long while because he had a lot of real life stuff & family drama getting in the way, but he is in a better place personally & professionally of late which bodes well for the game if people just cut the guy some slack and let him get on with development instead of constantly bitching about how he let the game languish for years in the doldrums, most of the recent changes have had positive engagement with the remaining players & have the right "direction of travel". Not every change is going to be fully embraced, the proposed introduction of two more skills were broadly seen as not solving the problem they set out to address and while change can be good changes with a proper approach to a aolution in mind work better, development should not purely be restricted to addressing problems & should also be about making the game more fun and engaging which is I think what Mike was going for but I'm not sure this is the best use of his time or that the 2 skills suggested really even add anything interesting, to me they look like unneeded changes and other choices should be explored. I'd rather see kickboxing hype working properly and more development of things that could attract more players, sure this is a niche game but it does hold so much unrealised potential even as a niche game. Also, I hope that Vlad, the player who invested in the game and who has done some development & was doing a lot of the back-end stuff required for a lot of future improvements is doing well & working on the the game even if he is doing so out of the spotlight, he copped a lot of flack but mainly because I think he was looking too far ahead & that led people to expect too much to happen in the short term. Slow the roll and maybe not bite off so much more than can be chewed at once, players will always happily give feedback on improvements but that has to be tempered by what can be done & how quickly, with a staff of just 1-2 people. Talk about less individual things, just communicate more often overall, talking about a whole lot of changes just sets up the wrong kind of expectations about when they could actually happen - unless you can actually timetable all of those different things out realistically, otherwise you just end up with huge walls of silence for months on end and no game community likes that. I still enjoy this game, even if my focus is on other games this one is not so demanding that you have to be dedicated to it so its a perfect side game imho as most primarily text-based online games are, mostly because there really isn't anything like it for fans of MMA.
    • Thanks all for your responses. I think I'll return when more frequent and robust changes are made and the active userbase has significantly increased. My suggestion to increase the userbase would be to have burst referral schemes: Lets say in the month of April, if you refer anyone you get double the referral bonus (which I presume is VIP if they buy VIP *if its not then make sure that it is the bonus*) BUT if you refer 5 people who all buy VIP (not from the exchange) in April, you get a straight up reward like being able to hold a third company for a year. Then hold this VIP rush every other month. I presume the game isnt making enough to market itself and grow since it's still dying from when I left so at this point, if the players want it to live then you gotta get people playing yourselves.
