Hi guys Tim here again with our weekly round up of all news tycoon. This week we have an exclusive interview with the #1 manager in the game Lance Templeton in his first interview ever in tycoon. Skip Clueless and Stephen BS both go toe to toe over the Steel Penn joining the GEG. Also i will be updating us all with the movers and shakers over the past week. So here we go.

THE LANCE TEMPLETON INTERVIEW

Stephen BS here with a very rare chance to interview the man of the hour Lance Templeton; one of the best managers to ever grace the game and the quiet one inside of Convicted. It has really gone over the heads of everyone despite the recent back to back losses of the alliance championships that the individual championships have been won by Lance for nearly a year. The division as it’s known inside of Convicted as the Templeton Division has been holding onto the #1 spot with many top fighters just like last year. Lance is still on top of his game. So lets start with the first questions to him.

Stephen BS - Mr Templeton, you have been top of the rankings for nearly 2 years now. The fighters you manage are also nearly all at the top of the food chain. While many others come and go you have managed to stay on top. What is the secret to your success?

Lance – Hmmm, tough one to answer, but thanks for the kind words. I guess I would attribute it to a pathetic amount of time spent reading fights, haha. For some reason I really love reading the fight engine. Not only my own fights, but others as well. The cat and mouse game of setting sliders and the trying to figure out the counter to what I think my opponent will do really appeals to me. It’s what keeps me coming back to the game.

Stephen BS - Now some say you do not pursue superfights. How do you respond to those people?

Lance – People or person? Lol Apparently not playing the game like others is a bad thing, but it’s cool. There is definitely validity to it. I was never much into many other facets of the game besides the fighting to be honest. I couldn’t even name half of the fighters in the top 10 P4P. I just don’t follow it and never really have. Like I said earlier I spend a ton of time reading fights and such, so much else would burn me out on the game. Sometimes I have fighter’s contracts that run out and I don’t even notice it until I see 50 contract offers as I am not very good with reading emails unfortunately.

But, that being said superfights are cool, I love them! I just don’t go after them, because I don’t have the energy to coordinate them. But, now when I sign with an org I just tell the org owner, if there is a superfight you want to involve my fighter in, just book it. You don’t have to email me about it. I will accept whatever fight you offer and I pay so little attention the chances are that I won’t even know it’s a superfight anyways, I would just assume it’s the next most logical fight for the org, haha.

Stephen BS - As of this moment you have 3 fighters inside the top 10 p4p. 8 fighters in the top 10 of there respective divisions and 10 fighters in the top 100. One tenth of the Top 100 belongs to you. What would you say is the better Templeton? The 2012 one or the 2013?

Lance – Ugh, another tough question. I hate talking about myself. As a matter of fact on my end of year review at work my one improvement that I needed to make was “self promotion” haha. My boss tells me that I have all of these awesome projects and initiatives going on all the time and nobody knows but my own people.

Anyways, at the risk of sounding like a total toolbag I think it would be hard pressed to find a better year ever than the one I had in 2012. I spent 11 straight months ranked #1 in the game, had the #1, 3, and 4 ranked fighters at one time, and never left the top 20 in ranked opposition the entire time. At one point I think I had lost 3 fights in a row and didn’t drop from #1, because my hype was so high. 10.5 months out of 11 at #1 would be pretty tough to ever beat in my opinion. In December of 2012 a guy that works for me lost his daughter in the Newtown, CT shootings and I stepped away for a while. For some reason it just didn’t seem right having fun. So this year I have been much more lax about the game. 2013 has been good so far as well I guess. I managed to climb back to 1 and have won most of the div1 pyramid challenges which is cool, but I definitely have a different attitude towards the game now.

Stephen BS - What has been your highlight of this year? Last year it was obviously your wins over Mjolnir and Bubba on the same weekend.

Lance – Hmmm, not sure. Believe it or not it was probably Wade Wilson vs St Juste. By no means the highest ranked fight ever (I think they were both in top 10 in the wc at least), but St Juste is an absolute beast who has beat some great opponents including Egyptian twice recently. Wade Wilson is one of those fighters that I struggle with greatly. I pretty much keep him around, because he keeps me on my toes. It literally takes every fibre of my being to figure out how to win with him and I feel exhausted after setting his sliders each time, haha. So that was a nice win for me personally. Oh, also figuring out a way to KO someone who had been abusing the CTD tactic was nice.

Stephen BS - Recently its came to our attention that Kyle Carlton the #2 HW in the game at the moment has for lack of a better word ducked Victor Creed inside of Evo. How do you personally feel about this?

Lance – Meh, I don’t like to get into pissing contests or bad mouth guys. So I will just say I was disappointed. The org owner signed me to the org to fight him and then two days later I found out he turned down the fight listing a bunch of excuses. Anyways, like I said I obviously have opinions on it, but would prefer to just keep them to myself. I wish him luck and hopefully we can fight in the future.

Stephen BS - Looking at the fights that are coming up one of the more exciting prospects is Karnak as he goes against Otso. Is this a shot to show those who think you don’t look for the superfights?

Lance – Nah, not at all. Because, in all honesty I didn’t look for this fight either, haha. The fight offer came across and I signed it. I assumed Otso signed with CFC and was fighting for the belt. So I cannot really take credit for searching out this great superfight. Unfortunately my boy Karnak is gonna get his head deposited in the 5th row, but that’s beside the point lol.

Stephen BS - Who do you think is in the lead for Fighter of The Year this year and Manager of the year?

Lance – I am sorry buddy I don’t have a clue. Wish I could give you a better answer, but I do not have the foggiest.

Stephen BS - You got anything you would like to say or any shout outs to give?

Lance – Well for me to give a shout out would be to imply that I thought people actually cared about what I had to say, so not really. But I would like to say that I think this game is awesome and the community is great. Mike is the man. I have never seen a game where the designer was involved and as responsive as he is. Recently there have been a bunch of fight write ups, game trash talking, prospect hyping, etc on the forums and I think that stuff is awesome. Hopefully it keeps going and more people get involved than just Chris Karter, Jbomb, and Stu, because I think it is something that really adds another dimension to this cool game.

STEEL PENN LOSING HIS TOUCH?

Skip Clueless - Steel Penn a long time friend of mine Stephen is just doing what is right. I know you are my brother from another mother but this is the truth. Steel Penn is one of the most dynamic tycoons in the history of the game. Lets forget his multiple personality disorder for a second here which has already been addressed. He has one of the biggest alliance groups in the game. They can nearly vote there way into the #1 position for any of the year awards. This is all part of his master plan for game domination. Last few weeks we spoke about Louie and his plan for global domination. Lets forget him. Steel Penn is the real brain.

Stephen BS - WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING SKIP! Steel Penn yeah lets forget he cheated twice. Lets get with the long and short of it. Every business venture for global domination is like pinky and the brain. HE ALWAYS FAILS. The ICON project. The previous one before that with Steel Penn orgs in every city. He just fails at them all. Who cares about how many 160 nut companies you have. No one cares at all about any of that stuff. Its all about the org running business and i wouldn't even place Steel Penn or any of his orgs in the top 10 in the world. Not a hope in hell.

Skip Clueless - I guess you are missing the point here my friend. Yes he has had some failures but so has every big tycoon. Look at Bill Gates, Richard Branson etc. Not everything they do turns out to be golden. For the Steel Penn being a top 10 org? OFCOURSE IT IS! It is at least top 5 in my book Stephen. Maybe even top 3. Look at the facts here. He has some of the best nut companies in the game. A fantastic group of self supporting orgs. The reason it is not as popular as the Evo's and Ascensions in the world is because of people like you. Always looking to put him down. Well not today my friend not to damn day!

Stephen BS - I am sorry Skip but you are wrong here. Nothing Steel Penn has ever done lasts. He is like a gardener. Everything he plants in spring is dead by the end of summer. Two years in a row he has failed. He will do it again this year and fail again. Failure is because people don't like him thats right Skip. Want to know why that is? Because he is an egotistical, pathological douche. He can't help it. Its not his fault. He tries to be nice but it just comes off as being a for a lack of a better word dick. We will let the people vote on this one Skip and see how they feel about this. I will show once again that i am right and you are wrong my friend.

THE FIGHTER STOCK EXCHANGE!

Lee Perry - The LHW fighting at HW. Some people complain but he is doing the damage. A huge win against Renzo Machida and Shakur means he gets his spot here. Many have asked why he is fighting at HW despite being a LHW and not on a superfight basis. I guess thats a question for Matt Cave and Perry. All we know is he is very close to fighting Carlton or if he chooses to go back to LHW Womba. Which would be a hell of a entertaining fight.

Hector Cabrera - Who said old men can't cut it anymore. Rolling back the years on that clock of his he has turned in a barnstorming run of wins. Finishing his last 4 in the featherweight division. That is a statement. The now Evo FW champion fights another OAP in Perez in what should be a highly entertaining fight. Both guys will be close to retirement but lets face it. If they are the top dogs in the division. Its upto some young buck to take that title from them.

Matt Murdock - Trying to stake his claim as one of the best middleweights to have graced the game. He still has quite a way to go before he reaches those dizzy heights but many including myself think a few more big wins and he can start talking about it. The Ascension MW champion has been putting in dominating performance after performance. Maybe a fight against someone like Dee or Charalabous in the future for him but for now he is ranked as the #1 MW in the game.

Price Plummets

Jose Nabijos - After losing in the clutch against Pat McDermot via KO things went from bad to worse for the Karter fighter as he lost to King also. He is still a great fighter and still has a few more miles on the clock but Jose must be wondering if he still has a run left in him. What else is left to prove for him? At 33 his days maybe numbered but i'd still bet on him coming out to win a few before retiring.

James Bomb - 1-4 in his last 5 fights. Have we finally seen the end of the Bombman. The Jeremy Horn of the Tycoon world he has amassed 83 fights in his career so far. Still in his prime though it might be his manager who needs to step up his game. At only 30 the Bombman must still have a few miles left in the body clock the only question is does he still have it in the chin department.

Rising Stars

Skip Clueless here giving you another edition of the rising stars. Last week was more of a warning because of some cowardly match making by Chris Garcia . Who was accused of ducking some more by Igor. This week i promised you a SHW/HW countdown and you guys are sure gonna get one. Ready for it? Cause i certainly am.

Marko Kersikov - Those who know or don't know of Marko should get to know him. The 9-0 prospect currently sits in the top 200 p4p fighters. Hailed by many in Convicted as the "Next Big Thing". Marko dominated his first 8 pro fights. In his 9th however he was tested to the full. After 5 touch rounds he managed to pull off the UD and went underground. Rumors report that he was under some crazy Ukrainian Cyborg Experiment. Others think he went to tone up his skills so he could come back in a big way after feeling he fought poorly in his last fight. Now after signing with HMMA. He looks to go toe to toe with some of the bigger boys in the game. Good luck to Marko and all those damn Kersikov's.

Rinky Spider - Stupid name, not that i would ever say that to him. Rinky is 13-2 and currently sitting up at the lofty heights of 123 in the P4P rankings. Fighting exclusively in NGF so far in his career he has yet to make the jump to the big leagues. He is a hard hitting, granite chin'd tough son of a bitch from the Bowser camp another premier young fighter camp. His skills are looking sharper every day now and a lot of people speculate that a rematch against the next guy on the list could be close. Also with Scotty Bennett leaving NGF it is rumored that a lot of there top fighters could be leaving the nest. Its a great day in tycoon to see all these young guys leave the nesting of ID orgs to go and try there hand with the big dogs.

Wei Pei - NGF HW champion. Comes from the Mattos camp in Brazil known for its top young guys who love fighting in ID orgs. Now one of the things i often wonder is why Mattos hides a lot of his young guys in these ID orgs for so long. Pei does not look like the most skilled fighter on paper but his powers of destruction are strong in this one. 11-0 is the record with 11 knock outs. 10 of those came inside of the first round. Pei looks like he could do with some gym time and then move on to a bigger org now. Hes getting into his prime and can't for the sake of his career stick around in an ID org all his days.

Leonardo Ferreira - One of the many heavyweights to come out of the Salad Tosen gym. He might just be the best of them all. Leo is a guy i have been following closely as i am friends with his manager who has kept me updated on his career. He recently signed to HMMA and faces one of the toughest challenges of his young career so far but here is the interesting thing. It was long ago joked between managers Dean Sutherland, The Kersikov Clan Leader and Mannetosen the King of the flying gorilla's that Leo and Marko would one day throw down. Now with both of them at the same org and Leo's win could bring that match together. It would be a fight that would if some people have predicted right be the first fight in such affairs as JDS vs Cain. The future of the HW division could be these two guys.

John Bunting - A SHW who has been making a name for himself is Mr Bunting. With a 17-2 record so far inside the cage he is looking to put himself as the #1 SHW in the world. Now this would be interesting if he comes through his next fight. Bunting has astounded people with his wins so far and looks to continue this going but if he wins WOW is all i gotta say. This would set up a fight against Neo Kable. Both guys are young and talented both have huge power and both are fighting against the top guys in the world. It could be the stars of the future will be the stars of today. It is very exciting news for all of us here at TWW news as we follow these guys young careers. They are many more out there if you want a bit of self promotion fire me off a mail and we will put in a shameless plug for you.

Next weeks line up is TBA. Hope you have enjoyed this weeks episode of TWW. All news Tycoon in a slow week for Tycoon news sadly. Lets hope next week has some new developments otherwise it will be a week of young guns. If you are a top manager or someone who wants to add in there two cents please feel free to pm me and i'll fire off some questions for you to appear in next weeks show. From Tim, Skip and Stephen we wish you all a great october week.

You should maybe put a few things you plan to add in the next edition.

Good read

Sorry but its quite hard to see into the crystal ball and put in what i am gonna say next week when i usually report on shit through out the week. As far as the young fighters go. I usually just pick out a few guys i like and do some fantasy match ups with them. Next week i'll prolly go for the 185ers but apart from that i usually do it as i get the stuff.

Great read Dinooo

Obviously I am the one person who is critical of LT not taking super-fights. I don't agree w/ his quote though

Lance – People or person? Lol Apparently not playing the game like others is a bad thing,

Nobody ever said it was a bad thing, it's just the thing that makes me refrain from calling him the GOAT. I don't remember Avon's time but I know most people call him the GOAT and as much as I am not always a fan of CK I would say his career is more impressive than LT's so I'd say it's debatable he's only a top 3 Convicted manager of all time.

Did I mention Jacky had close to 10 straight months at #1 also?

Steel Penn lives in his own world but I actually kinda like the ICON project. If he hadn't joined up w/ Mentor and GAMMA I might've considered taking some of my younger guys there. Now I will have to think about it.

I gotta take Kable. When you're 0-7 against a manager you tend to not pick against him very often.

Well then, your crystal ball sucks, get a new one which shows the shit of next week.

Next week on TWW News... Chris Karter single handedly ruining GAMMA's superfight record by crushing Mentor's Champions.

Hello fellow Tycoon fanatics.

A little big of a back story. GAMMA was always a "good" organization. I guess we never was considered great, but we were known for our consistency and as a destination for "super fights" between top organizations. Our record in these top 1000+ p4p fights speaks for itself 83-33-1.

Chris Karter's fighters are destroying GAMMA's champs left & right. Kanen's opponent was the 2nd consecutive "granite chin" champion that was knocked out cold by a fighter from Convicted Fight Club. The first came a week or two ago when Pluto Palhares pummeled Keith Green's face into the canvas.

Mentor - a self proclaimed "fair" org owner and man of the people - stiffs Samor Kanen on a well deserved KOTN award. Chris Karter went on record saying that the action is clearly a sign that the org owner is bitter over the utter destruction of his paper champs.

Kanen lands an uppercut, right on the button! Djurdjevic tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Samor Kanen!

Colossus lands a big right hand that drops Foreman! The killer instinct kicks in and Colossus finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Colossus!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jt Colossus!

Samor Kanen declined to comment about being shafted out of his KOTN award, simply stating that destroying GAMMA's champ on their home court was satisfaction enough. Chris Karter went on record stating that his fighters are simply too damn good for GAMMA's organization, explaining why he's never signed a fighter there.
