  1. Team Reaper vs. Team MMA Hype http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13872101904617.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14075223539049.jpg Edgar Simans (8-3) vs. Callum Pagnozzi (2-5-1) Edgar Simans comes into this fight tied for the individual points lead after wins in his first two tournament fights. He’ll step into the cage looking to remain on top of the individual standings while helping Team Reaper pick up their first head to head victory this season when he steps into the cage against Team MMA Hype fighter Callum Pagnozzi. This looks like a very even match-up on paper as both guys possess decent striking skills as well as an offensive ground game. Pagnozzi chose to grapple in his last fight against Keosayan and it turned out to be a mistake as the Armenian was able to pull off a majority draw in a fight many thought Pagnozzi would win handily. Edgar Simans snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in his last fight after falling down 2 rounds to nil and then getting rocked in the 3rd round, he was able to secure a triangle from guard with just 5 seconds left. Will the slick submission skills scare Pagnozzi into using his wrestling in reverse and turning this into a striking match-up? Will Simans be able to keep winning and help Reaper turn things around? Tune into ITFL this weekend to find out! Prediction: Pagnozzi via 2nd round TKO http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13941880188233.png VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13886670638020.png Ronin Mori (5-4) vs. Daniel O’Sullivan (8-3) The next match-up between these two teams is between two very high caliber wrestlers as Ronin Mori steps into the cage representing Team Reaper as he takes on the Irishman Daniel O’Sullivan from Team MMA Hype. O’Sullivan has been one of the more active trash talkers to this point in our tournament and was very critical of his opponent earlier in the week claiming that he would not be surprised if he forced the Japanese warrior into retirement. He also expressed sympathy for his opponent putting the majority of the blame for Mori’s lack of success on his manager. Those are harsh words from O’Sullivan and he’ll have to back them up in the cage but he certainly possesses the skill set to do just that. O’Sullivan will look to push the pace and use his strikes to set up his bread and butter which is his wrestling. Once the fight hits the mat he feels he should have a decided advantage in the grappling department considering the disparity in their BJJ skills. Ronin Mori has taken on two very tough opponents thus far in our tournament and though he performed admirably in both contests and lost via close decisions, he has yet to taste victory in our tournament. Mori will need to turn things around if his team has any hope of getting back in the hunt in the team competition. Normally Mori would look to use his wrestling skills and try to work a dominant top game but after suffering a late submission loss to a brown belt last week one has to wonder if he’ll risk playing in O’Sullivan’s guard. Mori might be better served to use his wrestling in reverse in this fight and try to turn this one into a striking battle. Prediction: O’Sullivan via 2nd round submission http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14042274987848.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13911746698050.png Cole Orion (4-2) vs. Jacob Holm (8-3) The next match-up has had its fair share of trash talking taking place between the two managers and if the pre-fight trash talk is an indicator of how this fight is going to go, I’m afraid Sami Assasi is going to make Louie look a bit silly. Louie has chosen Cole Orion from his stable to represent Team Conquer this season and he appears to be the Artie Lange of season 3. Orion has suffered knockout defeats in both fights so far though he did manage to rock Dylan McKay in his last fight despite being at a huge disadvantage in the striking department. He’ll be facing a similar disadvantage in this fight against Holm who is a sensational boxer and also has decent kicks to go along with his boxing. Orion is simply no match for Holm on the feet and will therefore be desperately looking to get this fight to the mat. If he manages to get the takedown he will need to gain a dominant position and do whatever he can to finish this fight on the mat because the longer this one goes the more likely Holm starts chipping away at him. Holm on the other hand should look to be patient and not rush into anything that could lead to a counter takedown and just slowly start chipping away at Orion until the opportunity presents itself for a finish. Prediction: Holm via 3rd round TKO http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13792864229140.png VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/15/15w3.jpg Artie DeVanzo (7-3) vs. Jacob Koch (12-3) Artie Devanzo enters the ITFL tournament as a replacement fighter as Team Reaper has excercised their 1 replacement for the season by replacing Dmitry Potapoff. His first opponent is Jacob Koch from Team MMA Hype and he is among the individual leaders in points after winning both of his first two fights including the ‘Upset of the week’ in week 1 with his victory over Arthur Bishop. Koch is an exceptional boxer and has decent muay-thai skills to go along with it but what really sets him apart from other fighters is his ability to eat a punch and also his ability to end a fight with 1 big shot. Koch has big power in his strikes and he enjoys throwing them with bad intentions which has led to 9 of his 12 career victories coming via stoppages due to strikes. If he can close the distance and land clean strikes on his opponents chin he has a very good chance at picking up career stoppage number 10. Artie Devanzo has a well-rounded striking arsenal but more importantly he has an offensive ground game which he’ll need to utilize in this fight. Devanzo certainly has the skill set to stand and bang with his opponent but I’m not sure it’d be wise to let this one progress into a war on the feet and therefore he should look to chop his opponent down at the knees and help set up his wrestling by hindering Koch’s movement. Once this fight hits the mat Devanzo should make sure that Koch is carrying all of his body weight in an attempt to slow him down and open things up for him in the striking department. Prediction: Devanzo via Unanimous Decision http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13988558087509.png VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13836007079672.png Ray Lennox (7-4-1) vs. Travis Bickle (11-2) The 5th and final fight between these two teams pits Team Reaper grappling specialist Ray Lennox against perhaps the most dangerous striker in our tournament in Travis Bickle of Team MMA Hype. Bickle may not be the most skilled striker in the tournament but his combination of brutal knockout power and his appeared desire to want to seriously hurt somebody out there makes him the most dangerous guy to this point in the tournament in my opinion. Travis Bickle has dominated all 6 rounds he’s fought in so far, picking up a late stoppage in his first fight, and battering Soderlund so badly that he entered this week still injured. Bickle likes to push a relentless pace on the feet and really mixes up his punches and kicks well as well as mixing them in to the leg, body and head. If Bickle can get off to a fast start as he has in his first two fights it’ll make it very difficult for Lennox to get anything going. Lennox is a respectable striker but I don’t think it’d be wise to get into a kick-boxing match with a guy as dangerous as Bickle. He should therefore try to close the distance and get this fight up against in the clinch position where he is likely to have much more success if this fight indeed remains on the feet. Lennox should look for his counter takedowns when at boxing range or he should push Bickle against the cage and slowly wear him down and then look for the takedowns against the cage. Lennox could be dangerous to Bickle on the ground from either top or bottom positions so don’t be surprised to even see him attempt to pull guard when clinched against the cage. This fight is going to come down to whoever can dictate the pace of the fight and which guy dictates where this one takes place. Prediction: Bickle by 3rd round TKO

  2. Team Conquer vs. Team TBD http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/26/26b5.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/18/18w15.jpg Raphael Adamson (4-2) vs. Sergey Keosayan (3-2-2) The first fight between these two teams kicks off our card in the Hayashi Lounge when Team Conquer member Raphael Adamson steps into the cage looking for his first tournament victory as he takes on grappling specialist Sergey Keosayan of Team TBD. Keosayan is also winless in our tournament but has managed to scrape up 2 points for himself with 2 draws in 2 fights. Sergey really lacks the striking skills needed to hang with most fighters in this tournament but an aggressive attack combined with excellent wrestling skills has led to 6 takedowns thus far. Once the fight hits the mat Keosayan has an active submission game and distracts his opponent with ground strikes as he looks to gain the dominant position. Raphael Adamson is also a very excellent grappler but after a late submission loss in a fight that he was dominating, I expect he’ll go the conservative route in this one and try to keep this fight on the feet where he’ll have a decided advantage. If Adamson is able to use his wrestling in reverse and turn this fight into a stand-up battle he should be able to pick up his first ITFL win. Prediction: Adamson via Unanimous Decision http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13737693437239.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/37/37b13.jpg Tanner Pond (5-3) vs. Tuma Krapala (5-3) At the same time somewhere across town the next fight between these two teams will be kicking off our 2nd card at the Camden Conference Centre. Team Conquer sends boxing specialist Tanner Pond into the cage to take on Team TBD fighter Tuma Krapala in what has the potential to be a very entertaining striking match. Tuma Krapala is no match for Pond if he tries to out-box him in this fight and should instead lean on his muay-thai skills to carry him to victory. Krapala will look to use good hard leg kicks to hinder Pond’s footwork so that he can work his way inside and get this fight against the cage. Once he does so he will mix in devastating elbows with an effective dirty box game. Krapala is a much better wrestler than Pond and that should help him in keeping this fight up against the cage once he engages the clinch. Tanner Pond will wanna try avoiding spending an extended period of time in close in this fight and should keep his hands busy and be sure to use his footwork to avoid backing straight up after exchanges. If Pond can keep the majority of this fight on the outside where he can try to out-box his opponent I think he walks away with another stoppage victory. Prediction: Pond via TKO round 2 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40b2.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13936877524305.jpg Pernell Whitaker Jr. (9-0) vs. Slade Wilson (2-0) Two undefeated fighters square off in the next fight between these two teams as Pernell Whitaker Jr. representing Team Conquer looks to extend his unbeaten streak to 10 when he takes on “Deathstroke” Slade Wilson of Team TBD. Wilson enters the ITFL cage for the first time as a replacement fighter for Sirodom Kinchanklao and that couldn’t come at a worse time for Team Conquer because Wilson comes from the prestigious Templeton camp. With only 2 professional fights and barely a minutes total cage time it’s difficult to get a gauge on Slade but two things you can be sure of are this, he’ll be well prepared for this fight and he’ll come into the cage with an excellent game-plan. Whitaker Jr. has already proven to be a well-rounded fighter at this stage in his early career as he prefers a good striking battle but has been forced to face two high caliber wrestlers in his first two fights and has performed very admirably on the ground. Whitaker Jr. has an active guard and even managed to pull off a slick submission in the 3rd round of a closely contested match-up against Ronin Mori. It’ll be interesting to see if Pernell chooses to just stand and bang with Wilson or if he’ll mix things up and test Wilson’s ability on the ground. This fight looks like it has potential for a FOTN bonus and one I’m very anxious to watch. Prediction: Wilson via TKO round 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13915013029046.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/28/28w12.jpg Arthur Bishop (4-3) vs. Mats Soderlund (16-7) Under normal circumstances the next match-up between Team Conquer and Team TBD had the potential to be an extremely entertaining fight between Arthur Bishop and Mats Soderlund. Unfortunately Soderlund took so much punishment last round at the hands of Travis Bickle that he’s still sporting a bit of an injury coming into this fight. I’ll tell you 1 thing though, Soderlund showed 1 hell of a chin in that fight by lasting to the final bell and even drew praise from his opponent afterwards for his durability. The Swede will tough it out this week though as he hopes to pull off the upset despite the lingering effects of the injury and it will not be an easy task. Bishop stumbled a bit out of the starting blocks with a close decision loss in week 1 but he looked impressive in victory last week and proved that he is truly a jack of all trades. Bishop is dangerous no matter where the fight takes place but he likes to use his strikes to set up the takedown where he can get the dominant position and punish opponents with ground strikes. This fight might’ve come at the perfect time for Bishop because if this guy gets some momentum going he will be a serious threat to the individual crown. Prediction: Bishop via TKO round 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/23/23b21.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13877411112774.png Dylan McKay (10-0) vs. Oliver Queen (7-0) The 5th and final fight between these two teams is another big match-up between two undefeated fighters as Team Conquer’s Dylan McKay looks to make it 11 in a row when he takes on “Arrow” Oliver Queen of Team TBD. Queen has also gotten off to a great start in his career winning his first 7 fights including his first 2 in ITFL. He uses an aggressive striking attack centered around leg kicks to slow opponents down and set up his takedowns. Once on the mat Queen stays active with ground strikes as he slowly chips away at his opponents until he can get to a dominant position. He will look to mix in his wrestling in this fight because while he’s a very capable striker he looks to be no match for an elite level striker such as McKay. The pressure to perform is certainly on for Johnny Sorrow and his fighter because he was very vocal about wanting this match-up and he got exactly what he asked for. McKay has promised that he’ll be putting “little arrow boy to sleep” so let’s just hope he has the skills to back it up and this doesn’t turn into a case of being careful what you wish for. If he can keep this fight on the feet and neutralize Queen’s ground game when he does land the takedown I think he has a really good chance at coming out on top. Prediction: McKay via Unanimous Decision

I called out your guy that you claimed to be the "next #1 p4p fighter" and beat him, then I went to warzone and accepted to fight the champ at the time and crushed your guy. Now we have 2 fighters in the same org, in the same weightclass ranked less than 100 p4p spots apart...

  8. Team Davies vs. Team Legion of Pain http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/23/23b18.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40w11.jpg Sir Lee Sea Flea (3-2) vs. Matrim Cauthon (12-8-1) Team Davies fighter Sir Lee Sea Flea enters the ITFL cage this weekend in a bout where both fighters are still seeking their first wins in the tournament when he takes on Matrim Cauthon who is representing Team LOP. This is a great match-up between two BJJ black-belts who will probably be looking to get this fight to the mat. Sea Flea has a slight striking advantage on paper but is giving up a significant reach advantage to his opponent so it could be problematic for him to close the distance and land effective strikes. Sea Flea could try to use his wrestling in reverse and try to out-strike his opponent but considering Cauthon is the superior wrestler, he’s likely better off using his boxing advantage to score points and help set up his wrestling game where he can try to maintain the dominant position. Cauthon will look to use his reach advantage by utilizing his jab and try to dominate the wrestling aspect of this fight which he usually does well. With 10 submission victories in his short career Cauthon is very comfortable off of his back and has a very active guard but he should not underestimate his opponent’s ground skills in this fight. Prediction: Cauthon via 2nd round submission http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14067514938790.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/39/39w15.jpg Juan Koski (3-0) vs. Bernhard Adelhard (2-0) The next match-up between these two teams kicks off the main-card part of our 2nd event in the Camden Conference Centre when Team Davies representative Juan Koski steps into the cage against Bernhard Adelhard of Team LOP. This fight pits two undefeated fighters against one another but with only 5 combined fights between them, a loss at this point in their career shouldn’t be too damaging. Both of these fighters are primarily strikers with very even muay-thai skills but Koski sports a significant boxing advantage over his opponent. Adelhard appears to have some submission ability and an active guard but has very little wrestling skills to get the fight to the mat so I have a hard time seeing that play a role in this fight. Adelhard should look to try to close the distance and get this fight against the cage where I think his best chance at victory lies. But if this fight remains at striking range I think Koski’s will use his boxing advantage to chip away at his opponent over time and eventually run away with this fight. Prediction: Koski via 3rd round TKO http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/1/1b10.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/7/7w12.jpg Carlos Hulk (0-2) vs. Benjamin Bengazzoni (10-4-1) Team Davies fighter Carlos Hulk enters the cage this weekend still seeking his first professional victory when he takes on boxing specialist Benjamin Bengazzoni representing Team LOP. Bengazzoni is a busy striker who likes to come forward and mix his punches up to the head and body. He’ll also mix in good hard leg kicks and has an effective dirty box game against the cage. Carlos Hulk is also an excellent boxer but is perhaps a bit more versatile than his opponent because he also possesses a wonderful muay-thai game with terrific kicks. Hulk’s versatility could prove problematic for Benjamin in this fight if Carlos tries to chop hip down at the knees and is able to limit Bengazzoni’s movement. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hulk tries to close the distance and tackle his opponent against the cage where he may also feel he will have an advantage. This fight is going to come down to game-planning as I believe it’s very winnable for both fighters. Prediction: Hulk via Unanimous Dec http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13734098357147.jpg VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/15/15w16.jpg Karate Kid (15-2) vs. Willum Gar (1-1) This next fight immediately follows their teammates on the card in the Camden Conference Centre when Team Davies fighter Karate Kid looks to extend his winning streak to 7 when he faces Team LOP representative Willum Gar. It’s very difficult to get a gauge on Gar thus far in his career because in his first fight he quickly dispatched his opponent with a 9 sec TKO but then was completely overwhelmed in his first tournament fight against Giorgio Conte. His training partners at Team Skaggs Training Facility have claimed that he is an excellent striker and he’s going to have to be if he has any hope of getting a victory in this fight. Karate Kid is one of the most experienced and successful fighters to join our tournament this season and has one of the best managers in MMA in his corner which made him 1 of the early individual favorites coming into this season. He had a hard fought win in his first fight over a very game Ronin Mori but will be looking to make a statement to the rest of the competitors with a dominant victory this time around and I think he has an excellent chance at doing just that. Prediction: Kid via 1st round TKO http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13784465098734.png VS. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/16/16w19.jpg Darius Kasparitis (13-1) vs. Peter Stumpp (11-7) The 5th and final fight between these two teams is the co-main event of our 2nd event in the Camden Conference Centre. Team Davies sends yet another fighter from the Aylib camp into the cage looking to extend their win streak to 7 in a row when Darius Kasparitis takes on the grappling specialist Peter Stumpp, representing Team LOP. This is a very difficult match-up for Stumpp because despite his grappling pedigree his opponent might have enough skills there to neutralize his ground attack and he will be at a major disadvantage if this fight remains on the feet. Peter Stumpp should try to get this fight to the mat at all costs and will need to be extremely active from top and bottom positions in order to avoid the referee stepping in and standing the fight up. It’ll be interesting to see if Kasparitis decides to feel things out on the ground if the fight hits the mat or if he’ll attempt to just get the fight back standing where he has a decided advantage. That might be the smartest plan for Kasparitis because though he also possesses a BJJ black-belt, his opponent has finished all but one of his 11 career wins by submission so he will be at constant risk on the ground. Prediction: Kasparitis via 2nd round TKO

  14. Jeremy Tonal http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/23/23b3.jpg Record: 36-9 Notable Wins: Raz Matazz, Gristle McThornbody, Bubba KillsInWater, Golden Glory, Lucas LaVey, Jigoro Kane, Merrimac Mjolnir, Smokudju Womba Notes: 2X GAMMA Light Heavyweight Champion (4 Defenses) Reason: Who hasn’t heard the name Jeremy Tonal? He is considered by many to be the greatest fighter to step foot inside a cage. Terrorizing every top contender at Light Heavyweight fighter for almost two years, Jeremy went on one of the most historic runs the Tycoon Universe has ever witnessed. From September 2010 to May 2012, Tonal went on an unprecedented 24-1 streak, but more about that later. Getting off to an unconventional start to his career, Jeremy signed with GAMMA after one fight as a pro, but shortly after his first fight with the promotion he and his manager decided to part ways. Luckily for Tonal he happened to make a few connections in his short professional career and agreed to a deal with one of the top managers in the world, Richard Davenport. Early on under Davenport’s watchful eye, Tonal had somewhat mixed results going 3-2 in his next five contests. After a bit of soul searching and rededication, Tonal strung together three straight wins and earned his first title shot. At GAMMA 119, Tonal finally “struck gold” with a 55 second massacre of Erkki Junttila becoming the GAMMA Light Heavyweight Champion. With an unsuccessful title defense and a 1-1 record afterwards, Tonal felt he needed to leave GAMMA and looked to make a name for himself in a big way. And a big way it was. Tonal’s amazing run of 24-1 (the one I talked about in the opening) began when he joined the Syn Millionaires Tourney, which saw some of the best up and coming Light Heavyweights in the world come together for a shot at glory and fame. Although he came in as slight underdog, Jeremy outlasted everyone in the tournament by beating the likes of Rolen Spliffs and Earl Lee Swagger among others. A few months after the tournament, Tonal agreed to a fight a man that many Light Heavyweights had tried to avoid…………….Jigoro Kane. Undoubtedly his toughest test, Tonal was a game opponent, but in the end the judges had decided he was not the victor on that night. Having faced the #1 fighter in the world and finding out what it takes to become “the guy”, Tonal welcomed any challenge with open arms. Unfortunately for his opponents, Jeremy’s fists were not so welcoming and lead him to knockout victories over Raz Matazz, Gristle McThornbody and Golden Glory. Even after defeating fighters of such high caliber, one thing never sat well with Jeremy…………the loss to Jigoro Kane. After receiving a phone call from Kane’s manager, Richard Davenport knew immediately that his fighter wanted another chance at Jigoro and a deal was stuck within a few days to hold the rematch at IMMA 36. 11 months of waiting and dominating everyone in his path, Tonal finally had his 2nd chance and was determined not to lose this time around. Visualizing it in his head a thousand times, Tonal did exactly what he planned to do and knocked out Kane with devastating ground and pound early in the 1st round. Finally having avenged the ill tasting loss to Jigoro, Tonal returned to GAMMA and the new contenders just waiting to challenge him. Unfortunately for Tonal he and his fans knew the streak had to end sooner or later and William McKenzie King decided it would be sooner, defeating Tonal via decision. Tonal finished his contract with GAMMA by winning his final two fights and decided to try one last time to regain his former glory, but was unable to capture lightning in a bottle a second time. Enjoying a brief retirement, but still having that itch for one last hurrah, Tonal was given an opportunity to fight another former #1 pound for pound fighter in Smokudju Womba. Agreeing to a two-fight deal, the two Hall of Famers put on amazing back and forth fights with each fighter having their hand raised by way of TKO (the only time Tonal has been beaten by TKO). Only time will tell if a rumored rubber match will ever be agreed upon, but until then all we can do is wait. He may not be the most decorated fighter in the Hall of Fame, but one thing is undeniable...........Jeremy Tonal is one of the best (possibly even THE best) to ever step foot inside a cage. Note: Ok, I know I bent the rules a bit since Tonal has fought in the last 6 months, but prior to that it had been over a year since his previous fight.

  15. I just noticed something my current roster has a record of 236-69-6 (0 NCs), just curious how many have a similar or better record? Now granted a few of mine where FA's so I can't take credit for all the wins, but at the same time I get their previous losses too that i didn't do. if I did my math right, thats 75.8% win ratio? I just scanned some other managers that are similar/close that are in the top 10: Big browser Dog 234-80-5 (1 NCs) Aleksei Nukulin 261-83-1 (0 NCs) Jorma Oltsu 240-83-3 (1 NCs) Dinooo 274-81-5 (2 NCs)

Second, Innokenti's wresting doesn't scare me. I know he get's himself off by dry humping his opponents until he can secure a rear naked choke but I don't swing that way and I'll be more than ready for his predictable gameplan. Guys like Innokenti don't like getting hit in thier pretty little face and once he feels my power he will fold like that cheap hooker I picked up last week.

  17. There should be a set deadline the manager has to accept or decline the fight maybe 1/2 days till the fight and if they leave it, it should be accepted automatically as a penalty. Twice this past week I have had two fights where my opponent hasn't accepted it and the event starts and my fighter doesn't get his fight. And to top it off I have been contacting the org owners but nothing has been said back to me.

ScoobyAli's Jonsen Azumah hails from the Republic of Gabon in africa and by the looks of it he doesnt want to have anything to do with the striking game. Don Africa's Papa Jack on the other hand is a lethal muay thai artist with zero wrestling. Sooooo... you guys know what I think about these striker vs wrestler match ups. Jack needs to put Azumah to sleep in the first seconds of the fight or it will be a rough ride for him. Or does the Don of Africa have something up his sleeve? He is the DON afterall... Totally unbiased noobish noob prediction: I dont think that Jack can develop good enough defensive wrestling skills during these last three weeks so I have to go with Azumah. ScoobyAli is well known high level manager and I think he will take his opponent down with ease and finish it there. Prediction: Azumah by TKO 1st

  20. I'm happy for you guys to take over hosting the official podcast because I don't have much free time these days, so it's a struggle trying to a weekend where I can record and edit a podcast episode. Although if I can get someone to help with the editing, it means I'd have half the work to do. Recording the podcast isn't the hardest task, it's trying to get it edited before I go back to work on Monday.

While he preferred to strike from distance earlier in his career, as his wrestling has improved he has utilized the clinch more. He is coming off a Unanimous Decision victory over Superior Warrior Tournament Finalist Tim Roth! Solomon Augustine, from Hong Kong, is a high level Muay Thai striker, with an emerging clinch game. He likes to utilize the clinch when he fights. This will be his first action in the K-1 ring, all of his other fights happening in MMA. He is coming off a first round TKO victory over Matt Williams in NEX in his last fight! Prediction: While Augustine is technically the better striker, Archer will have a boxing advantage, as well as the advantage in the clinch, which will likely allow him to control the fight. Archer by TKO (Round 3). CO-MAIN EVENT Super Heavyweight Bout Matt Weston (5-0-1, 3-0-1 XKC) vs. Shezzo "Hagabat" Wicked (4-7-1, 1-2-1 XKC) Matt Weston, from Washington, DC, USA, is a high level boxer, with strong Muay Thai skills, and wrestling. He can fight from distance, but likes to utilize the clinch as well to devastating effect. He had won every single fight in his career, up to his last fight, when he fought to a draw with Wicked! Shezzo Wicked, from Sampaloc in the Philippines, is a well rounded striker, with high level boxing skills, as well as strong Muay Thai, and clinch work. He has had a more up and down career than Weston, and broke a two fight losing streak, when he battled to a draw with Weston in his last fight! Prediction: There is very little to seperate these two fighters skills wise, but Weston should have the advantage in the clinch, which should allow him to bully Wicked if he can get the fight in close. Weston by UD. UNDERCARD Welterweight Bout Rob Banks (3-1, XKC Debut) vs. Bill BumFight (4-2, 1-1 XKC) Rob Banks, from Los Angeles, California, USA, is a high level Muay Thai fighter, with emerging boxing skills, but no acumen in close. He prefers to strike from distance, with all three of his victories coming by T/KO. His last fight was a first round TKO loss to Joe Schmo in DSC! Bill BumFight, from New York City, USA, is a high level boxer, who is working hard to round out his striking game after fighting in a boxing promotion to begin his career, his kicking skills are starting to round out, but he has little skill in close. He prefers to fight from distance, using his punches to knock out opponents. He is coming off a Unanimous Decision victory over Mike Hussle in his last fight! Prediction: With two very similar skill sets, this could go either way, but BumFight's granite chin will likely be the difference. BumFight by TKO (Round 3). Welterweight Bout Yvgeny "The Folk Hero" Molotov (5-2, 5-2 XKC) vs. Lance "The Kickboxer" De Ropp (0-0, XKC Debut) Yvgeny Molotov, from Minsk, Belarus, is a former XKC Welterweight Champion, and has high level Muay Thai skills, with strong boxing, and an emerging wrestling game. He likes to utilize the clinch to bully opponents, but was outmatched in this area in his last fight, a second round TKO loss to Atauallah Ganteaume! Lance De Ropp, from Saint-Paul, France, is a high level striker, with excellent skills with both Muay Thai, and boxing, but little skill in close. It's hard to tell what to expect from a rookie, but I expect him to stay away from the clinch, and try to strike from distance. Prediction: Molotov is a former champion, and will have similar striking skills to go along with an clinch advantage, likely giving him the tools for victory. Molotov by TKO (Round 2). Light Heavyweight Bout Dick Army (3-0, 2-0 XKC) vs. Trevor Dustin (0-1, 0-1 XKC) Dick Army, from Ohio, USA, is a strong Muay Thai striker, who is working hard to round out his striking skill set. He likes to fight from the clinch, controlling, and bullying opponents to set up his striking. He prefers to drag fights into deep water, outlasting opponents. He earned the first finish of his career in his last fight, a third round TKO victory over Temujin Khan! Trevor Dustin, from Texas, USA, is a high level Muay Thai fighter, who will have to work hard on his other striking skills to round out his game. He prefers to fight from distance, utilizing his strong kicking game to pepper his opponent with strikes, and relying on his granite chin to stop his opponent finishing him first. His only pro fight was a Unanimous Decision loss to Byron Phillips in Dynamo! Prediction: This fight could go either way, with both fighters having granite chin, it will likely go the distance, and Army's wrestling advantage may be the difference. Army by UD. PRELIMINARY CARD Middleweight Bout Oliver "The Chimney" Buddington (1-0, XKC Debut) vs. Victor Plouman (0-1, 0-1 XKC) Oliver Buddington, from Nottingham, England, is a strong Muay Thai striker, who is continuing to work hard to round out his striking game. In his first pro fight, Buddington showed a preference to keeping the fight at distance, as he picked up a Unanimous Decision victory over Justin Chrystal in QFC! Victor Plouman, from Manchester, United Kingdom, is a strong Muay Thai striker, with an emerging boxing game. He showed a tendency in his first fight to prefer fighting from distance, using his strong kicking game to pepper his opponent with strikes. He lost a Unanimous Decision to Hadi Ozturk in his only fight! Prediction: With the more well rounded striking skill set, I will go with Plouman in this one. Plouman by TKO (Round 3).

  31. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1412017548MFN_148_poster.jpg MFN 148 : Down Under In our 4th stop on the World Tour, MFN visited Sydney. The inspiration for the event name came from the song below : Joe Spencer vs. Olivier Levasseur - Nobody has fought more matches at MFN than Levasseur, as he has spent his entire career with the organization. Spencer came in winless at MFN in 5 attempts. Both fighters have proficiency on the ground, but Spencer is known for some boxing as well. Most experts agreed that Spencer's boxing would be the difference in the fight. Not long after the fight started, Levasseur scored a nice takedown but was quickly reversed by Spencer. Following that reversal there was a nice battle for position on the ground between the combatants that continued through the rest of the fight. Eventually in round 3, Levasseur not only scored a takedown but also a submission victory. Spencer should have spent more time trying to stand toe to toe with Levasseur. Dougie Silva vs. Rubin Carter - In the second fight of the evening, 2 guys with somewhat even MFN fight records took eachother on. Carter, hailing from Sydney, definitely had some of the home crowd fans behind him and it created somewhat of a hostile environment for Silva. With that being said, before the match Silva indicated that he may use his muai thai advantage during the fight. It may have been a tactic to confuse Carter, as the match played out it was clear Silva was more content to standup and kick Carter. And kick Carter, he did. Over and over. Finally right before the round 2 bell, Silva cracked Carter with a beautiful combination and stunned the fans with a KO victory. Karl Boreling vs. Gennakin Golovdy - Up next we had a classic boxer vs. wrestler type of match with Boreling being the wresler and Golovdy being the boxer. Both fighters are relatively new to MFN as members of MFN's 205 weight class. Typically with boxer vs. wrestler type of matches usually either the boxer wins early or the wrestler wins later on in the match. Surprisingly tonight the match was decided very quickly on the ground when a very motivated looking Boreling cut Golovdy with an early punch, followed that up with a solid takedown, and then proceeded to pummel Golovdy with ground and pound. A very quick ground KO victory for Boreling who after the fight had barely broken a sweat. Tristin Shonuck vs. William Lord - Both fighters in the next match are skilled in all 4 fighting disciplines. Shonuck has a slight edge with his muai thai ability, but Lord has a slight edge with his BJJ skills. The fans in attendance figured they would be seeing a good, quality match that could be fought on the ground, in the clinch, and in the standup. Coming into the fight, both combatants had losing streaks going for their MFN careers, although not very long ones. This one wound up not ever reaching the ground as both fighters seemed more comfortable to keep it standing. There was a brief moment in the clinch but a spinning back fist early in round 2 ended the fight for Lord with Shonuck being given the KO victory. Igor Gago vs. Jimmy Hoffer - Both of the next match's fighters are from Montreal and really were looking forward to visiting Sydney. They placed a pre-fight wager on the direction that the water in the toilet would flush. For all intents and purposes, Hoffer was favored in this matchup. He has a better reach due to being taller than Gago, so most fans agreed that Gago had a pretty tough uphill climb coming into this fight. Surprisingly this one went the distance to the judges table as Gago proved his chin could take a lot of punishment. Hoffer targetted Gago's head relentlessly, but Gago stood in there, earning much respect from the crowd in the process. Gago was relentless in his takedown attempts, but Hoffer also displayed fantastic takedown defense as well as good ability to land ground and pound when it counted. Overall this fight wasn't close and Hoffer earned his decision victory. Ben Jackson vs. Tommaso Baroni - Jackson was making his long awaited MFN debut, whereas Baroni was 2-0 since joining MFN. One of these two was going to leave Sydney with his first loss at MFN and most experts picked Jackson as the fighter most likely to succeed. Jackson is noted for having elite level boxing ability, whereas Baroni (who is no slouch boxing-wise himself) is more known for his elite level wrestling ability. Even though this fight could be argued under the classification of the boxer vs. wrestler category of fights, in reality Jackson and Baroni are skilled across all fighting disciplines. Both men scored early cuts on their opponent and clearly dedicated their tactics to keeping the fight standing, which put Baroni at a disadvantage. In the first round Jackson dominated, but as the fight went on there was a clear momentum shift towards Baroni. Eventually when this fight made it to the judges table, the judges also saw that momentum swing and awarded Baroni a close, hard fought decision victory. Udo Hitzlsperger vs. Ivan Terrible - Before the match, Ivan tried to get inside Udo's head with some well placed smack talk. Udo, ever the consummate professional, never wound up responding and let his fists do the responding for him. Experts figured this fight would be another interesting fight as each fighter was pretty close skills-wise and could be effective in any position. This one wound up coming down to aggression...mostly in the clinch. Udo felt comfortable in the clinch and definitely used the position effectively as he pounded Terrible over and over with punch after punch in the clinch. Terrible took a lot of punishment, which says a lot about his chin, but eventually Udo wore Terrible down enough to score a TKO win with some fantastic dirty boxing in the clinch. Wolfram Stelzer vs. Nate Kingston - The next two fighters have fought each other before, as both have been with MFN for a significant amount of time. Stelzer vowed to gain revenge for the decision loss he had last time at Kingston's hands. Most fans as well as the experts figured this one was going to be decided by which fighter's submission attempts would get the opponent to tap out. By the time that this one made it to the judges table, a total of 23 submission attempts had been performed by both fighters combined... but nobody tapped out. It was a sheer testament to the submission ability of both men. The judges did not agree as one judge sided with each fighter before the third and final judge cast his deciding vote in Stelzer's favor. After the match the deciding judge stated that it was Stelzer's successful takedowns that gave him the edge over Kingston's failed takedown attempts. Both fighters worked hard and were proficient on the ground, it was just the takedown success by Stelzer that awarded him the decision victory. Jeremy Ring vs. Juan Pablo Green - In the co-main event, the 170 weight class was featured as two of its high ranked contenders battled each other to try and make a case for a title shot against the reigning champion. Ring has fought for the title before, coming up short against Dogu, and Green is trying to get enough notoriety to land his title shot in the future. Ring definitely has a muai thai advantage over Green, but Green has a slight wrestling advantage over Ring. Surprisingly, this fight never got to the ground even though it went the distance and came down to the judges' decision. Ring kept the fight in the clinch as much as possible almost tiring himself out with all of the clinch attempts. Green used counter moves successfully though, as it seemed every time Ring would come in for a clinch attempt, if he failed, Green would make him eat a punch or kick. As a result, when it came time to decide a winner, the judges went with Green giving him the decision victory over Ring. Ron Lemieux vs. Johnny Hendricks - In the main event of the evening home crowd in Sydney was treated to a fantastic match between the 135 weight champion (Lemieux) who lives in Sydney and a challenger with some great momentum (Hendricks) based in Tokyo. Lemieux was definitely the crowd favorite not just in this match but for the entire event. For almost the entire match the Sydney fans chanted his name over and over creating a very hostile environment for Hendricks. Both men have been absolute wrecking machines during their time at MFN, with Lemieux in the middle of his second stint as the champion and Hendricks beating some very accomplished fighters en route to earning his date with Lemieux. Skills-wise, Hendricks also provided some challenges for Lemieux both on the ground and boxing-wise, but Ron Lemieux always seems to overcome any opponent no matter how much of an advantage or disadvantage he is presented with. From the start of the fight, it had a feel of a fight that would come down to the judges and by the time it did, we saw an equal amount of time on the ground and standing for the fighters. Both fighters gave it their all, but the home crowd and the significant amount of successful head punches awarded Lemieux another decision victory over a very tough challenger.

NYFN 15 : RYNN VS JONATHON http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/14125800462014-10-18-NYFN15-01.jpg Main event: Mikaiah Rynn vs Ben Jonathon : In the main event, the defending champion Rynn wil face off against number one challenger Jonathon. The challenger is a bjj blackbelt with 8 submission victories on his record. The champion himself is an allround fighter with very good boxing. He will be looking to keep the fight standing at all cost as two of his only 3 career losses have come by way of submission. This is going to be a very nice fight and who gets the win will depend on who can fight his fight. I can't wait to see who will impose his will on his opponent! Co-main event : Sebasti Perreira de Souza vs Rockmeteller Todd: Both talented fighters are looking to bounce back from a win. Todd has great ko-power and can finish anyone at any weight class. Guess what, so does De Souza. Both have 7 (t)KO victories. This has all the ingredients for an 'of the night award' . Todd has never lost by (t) KO, but De Souza will be trying to write history. Both can do good business with a win, as they will climb the rankings, both in the division as in the org rankings. I heard from there trainers that they are very much looking forward to this fight and are gonna put on a great show! As always, NY Fight Nights has once again put together a card full of exciting match ups. This will be a very entertaining evening. Hayashi's lounge is gonna explode because of all the excitement and noise! Good luck to all fighters! BJorn

  35. I personally contacted managers to see if they would sign their free 205lbs fighters with me, I threw big money at fighters to sign in the 205 lbs division, and I even contacted signed fighters to see if they would sign after their current contract up and that is something I have never done before, or even will do again. The only issue I saw was the lack of the high p4p fighters you wanted and as you can see, that's what I focused on above. You were not fighting every 2 weeks and had lenghty periods to train up. Besides that, you can DECLINE fights if you feel you need to train more, you did not do this, so that is on you. The contract issue - you signed the original deal and resigned with me after that, again you could have declined both times there and negotiated for a better contract, you did not this, so this fault is also on you. I believe the last offer I send you gave you a 6k raise on everything. I could have paid you a grand or two more perhaps, but this is a 'business' and even though I like to think I give out fair contracts, I do try to keep them at a level where I am still able to make money myself. As I told you, I run my org for FUN, and for you I have gone out of my way and not stick to what I usually do and that is simply checking for fighters that need a contract and post on the forum every now and then to get the word out. This kind of drama and nonesense from you, is something that I do not consider fun. And once again, all the best to you and I hope you find a org more suitable to your needs.

Bjorn O'Donnel's cold and calculated russian wrestling prospect is challenging Davy Jones' hot headed spanish muay thai artist Django "Toro" El Rojo. On paper this looks like a fight that El Rojo has to keep standing so the big question is: can he? Does he have the skills and the time to adjust to this challenge? Will Innokenti be relentless with his takedowns or will he over do it due to lack of depth in skills? We have 22 days to go untill we have our answer. Totally unbiased noob prediction: I always tend to lean towards the wrestlers especially this early in their careers so this time it is no different. My prediction is that Innokenti will drive through El Rojo's takedown defence like knife through butter. IF El Rojo can wether the early storm and Innokenti cant finish him El Rojo has a good chance to turn it around. Prediction: Innokenti by TKO 1st

  39. Awakening Preview Finally got off my lazy ass and wrote a preview. Awakening is a showcase of the best we have to offer at Project Ascension. Our Main Event features our #2 P4P fighter, and we also have our #1 on the card. We are trying out a 2k arena, so more eyes will be on our org than ever before. 185 Javier Alvarez vs Axl Rose Both highly skilled 185’ers are 0-1. Alvarez’s intelligence will go against Rose’s solid chin. One thing I will miss from the legendary manager, Aylib 2.0, will be his badass avatars. We’re proud to host some of his last fights here at Project Ascension. 135 Pol “The Tooth Collector" Cuaresma Vi vs Victor "The Rattlesnake" Johanson “The Rattlesnake” might be de-fanged as “The Tooth Collector” has already collected two teeth here at the 135 division. Vi better put “& one fang” on his profile if he wins this one. 155 Tuke Hong vs Blake "Bullet" Ward Here at Project Ascension, we want to be a high paying QFC, where you can test your own project fighters and newly picked up Free Agents. Hong and Ward are freshly signed FA’s who will be “awakened” again within our org. ;D (see what I did there?) 205 Bernardo "El Toro" Marcias vs Kaba "Hammer" Meshdej “El Toro” received his nickname from an encounter with stampeding bulls. You could say that experience “awakened” the bull within himself J Both Marcias and Meshdej are winless in our org, with both having lost against the top talent in our strongest division, 205. 265+ "The Hamburger Helper" Jucal Jabneel vs Sloppo Tjefski Jabneel is fat. Jabneel is so fat, that he literally has two hamburgers in his avatar. At over 320 pounds, “The Hamburger Helper” holds a weight advantage over everyone in the division. To make things ever better, Jabneel is from Kenya, a country known for their abnormally fast runners. This should be a great fight, with possible title contender status on the line. 185 Kostas Papadakis vs Huey "Manimal" Manley This would be a hilarious stand up fight, as both guys have useless boxing and muay thai. *sigh* More likely this will become a grappling match with “Manimal” having the wrestling advantage and Papadakis with the better BJJ. 145 Ambrose "The Mule" Chisholm vs "The Hobbs End Horror" Sutter Cane “The Mule” is the number one P4P fighter in our org. Chrisholm’s skills are so devastating ,that his last two opponents left the org immediately after their fights with him. Cane with have that to think about when he goes into the cage. 265+ Peter "BoneCrusher" Pan vs Gorm "The Iron Price" Branting “The Iron Price” is using prison tactics by taking on the toughest guy in the division first. I don’t know if “BoneCrusher” can do anything to hurt Branting, as he already looks pretty F’d up. (Branting’s avatar picture seems to have taken place in a mental asylum) 170 Co-Main Event Robinho "Robi" Kumerlee vs Abu Nazir Our top Welterweight, Kumerlee, will fight a newly signed fighter, Abu Nazir. Nazir’s last fight was for a title and should he win this, would be the front-runner for our inaugural 170 lb title. 205 Main Event "The King of the Gods" Amun Ra vs Urho Berserk Ra is the number two P4P guy. Both Ra and Berserk are undefeated in our org and both have proven to be top contenders. “The King of the Gods” has a way of winning decisions via ridiculous amount of kicks while Berserk likes to mix up his strikes both in and out of the clinch. I’m expecting a decision but I have no idea which way it will go. As I alluded to throughout the preview, we will be introducing titles into Project Ascension. Smack Talk has gone a bit dry, which is fine, as many managers frequently PM me if they need anything. Pardon the last minute offers as of late, I have been testing out different arenas to see which venue is best to showcase you guys. We will be taking a one week break to get that title belt made and set up future events. Thanks for tuning in and sticking with us through the rough times. Now is the time for an Awakening.

  42. I agree with most on here that if you want to cut your fighter then just message the Org Owner and cut the fighter as most fighters will get picked up and if not oh well the Orgs owners in this game should realize that there is a risk in signing any fighter and understand that if a manager is not enjoying himself with the fighter then he should be able to cut him. I have had many managers contact me and tell me they were going to cut there fighters and offer to pay back the signing bonus and my response is generally always the same don't worry about the signing bonus and goodluck in the future. I don't know why people get so mad when people cut there fighters as a Org owner you have to know that a lot of people in this game are looking for different ways to enjoy it. Some what to go for that number 1 manager ranking spot others what to have the top fighter spot and others just want to fight. You have to do your best as a Org Owner to please them all. (you will never please them all but you can try your best to do it) If you run a Org and don't understand that then you are probably in the wrong business. Just my Opinion on the matter.
    1 point
  43. Just message the org owners with your plans. That is far more than some do and you cannot under estimate just how much the owner will appreciate this.
    1 point
  44. By paying back the signing bonus you are doing more than the majority of managers do. Even a message is more than you get a lot of the time. All I would be really looking for is confirmation that it's the fighter you feel let down by and not the org. Like Dean said, it's highly likely they are going to get picked up and the contract is seen out by another manager anyway. We are in a business that makes money quite easily, losing a few signing bonuses along the way is hardly the end of the world.

  45. Unless it was a huge amount, I wouldn't even care if I got the bonus back. If you aren't having fun with your current guys then you should definitely turn it over and see if you can do better with the next batch.
