Hi everyone! 390k+ is right around the corner, which means it’s a perfect time to re-open the Creative Guild, a discord chat for discussing all things creative in Tycoon. Whether it be Fighter Bios, Avatars and Org lore, the Creative Guild has it all. Looking for Writer(s)!!! Obviously there is a shortage of writers in MMAT so we realize we're going to have to up the ante and pony up the $ to make it happen! But I have to be honest with you, I have to make it happen! So you're in the driver's seat as far as compensation! I am looking for TWO or more writers to swap in and out between card previews depending upon how much workload each wants! Got an idea of what you're worth?...Let's talk compensation and make it happen! $? Sure. Custom avatar perhaps? We can do that! VIP? Sure, perhaps, if there's a long term commitment thing, I can definitely work that! Combination of payment options? Yeppers, we gotcha, let's discuss! So here's what we're looking for...and yes, while I would always love a writer who wants to do the occasional moonlight gig with interviews and such...that's not my main priority at the moment. Instead, what I really, REALLY need, is somebody who is able and willing to do anywhere from 1-3 "undercard" portions of cards per week. By that I mean the first five fights of a card for 1-3 cards, depending upon how much work you want. I'll take care of the rest man (or woman)! You don't even have to format it. Just write it all up, send it over to me, and I'll plop it into the preview with proper credit given to you as the guest writer on that given card! And you decide how in-depth or crazy you want to get. Want do do it RisaRoo or NatiBatti style, basically a short, quippy sorta paragraph about the fight with or without a prediction on the result, do your thing, I'm fine with that! Or, want to do it on par with my long-winded, blabbering previews? Sure, go for it. Something in between? Yeah man! Just do what allows you to be happy and comfortable and not burn out, and it's all good! And depending upon the time spent, we can figure out that whole compensation thing from above! Here are some extremes to the previews we've had...first, two from NatiBatti and RisaRoo, my actual daughters. Then, one that is more typical of what I do most times for the fights... If you're read this far and you're interested...PM me in game and let's chat!!! Come help make what is (in my admittedly very biased opinion!) one of the most fun orgs in the game even more so! *********************** First is an example of NatiBatti's little blurbs on fights that she's been providing of late: Fight #1- Law vs Liee For the first match-up of the night, we have Tyson Law and Brusse Liee in a middleweight bout. Law has much more experience than Liee, having fought 20 fights in his career and winning over half of them. Nonetheless, it should be a pretty good match as Liee has pretty good skills to combat Law’s. I don’t know much about either fighter, and both of their morales are down about the same amount, so I’m going to pick Law to win this one based on experience and him having just slightly more energy. He will win by submission. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know. I’m not even looking at their fight page right now as I type this sentence. *********************** Here is a pretty representative sample of RisaRoo's shorter previews from the past. Again, she didn't have to do the headline intro pieces and formatting, just the paragraph she provided: Undercard Bout #5: Lightweights Anti Half Assed v Marchrius Rossi Risa Roo’s Take: The last fight I will be reviewing before Hare finally does his job for once is the fifth fight of the night between Anti Half Assed (you look like you half ass your shower routine bro, shave please god damn) and Marchrius "Marco" Rossi. Parents really wanted to make life tough with that first name, huh? Anyone ever pronounce it right on the first try? Didn’t think so, good thing you go by Marco. POLO! Anyway, both of these dudes are coming in with energy and morale, so hopefully this will be an even paced and engaging fight. Rossi is coming off a few losses while Half Assed is coming off a couple wins. We’ll see if one can break the losing streak or one can maintain the winning streak. I’m rooting for whoever has the best hygiene (take a guess who). *********************** And an example of my previews (Hare and Donkey "Dan"): Undercard Bout #5: Heavyweights Thoth Chontamenti v Thiago Araujo In his interview on “The Lawrence Minute”, Chontamenti talked about how difficult and strong the Heavyweight division at SPPS has become since the days when he was a dominant force in the division. It’s awesome to see that under his new management team he appears to be energized and has the confidence that he can get back to the top! That said, he’s absolutely right…this is not your grandfather’s Heavyweight Division at Sucker Punch anymore and the game has changed. Being extremely skilled just isn’t enough. You have to have phenomenal skills along with great strategy…and a big time killer instinct! Araujo has been round long enough at the ripe age of 39 to know that that killer instinct is a necessity! He’s been at the top, as he was champ for a minute back at CCF early in his career, and he’s also seen enough fights over his career to know about the streaks…both good and bad. There’s no doubt about it tonight, he brings a clear and present danger to the cage if the fight goes to the ground. He’s a submission specialist with a ridiculous number of wins coming from chokes and twisted up arms! Chontamenti indicated that his goal is not to mess around with Araujo on the ground. We don’t know if that’s just gamesmanship or if that’s an honest take on this fight. Given that Araujo has fallen to a fair number of KO’s over his career I’m actually of a mind to believe that Chontamenti’s giving us the honest insight on this one. And that means he’s looking for the KO going into this fight! I like that. I like that a lot! Donkey’s Pick: Chontamenti via TKO (Strikes) Here’s the thing. Chontamenti was extremely dangerous on the ground himself early in his career and at the same time has proven over the years that he can bring the BOOM also! And, aside from his very first QFC test fight, he’s never been submitted. So unlike Hare, I almost think that while he may not be looking to purposely take this fight to the ground…why would you?...I don’t think he fears that from Araujo as much as he’s letting on! MMA is a young man’s game and while Chontamenti isn’t young at 29 years old, he’s still ten years younger than Araujo!
