  1. And I’d like to point out that JT came into that fight with 2 injury days and as of today he’s completely recovered.
  2. Jersey Turnpike "Exit 12" CDM Record : 1-0-0 ‘I always told ma’ these knucks would get me outta the suburbs streets and now I’ma prove me right.’ Yo, so this freaky dolphin guy tells me that if I keep knockin’ dudes out he’ll give me a lifetime supply of Gym-Tan-Laundry. I gotta say that’s a helluva deal considering the first guy only lasted 16 seconds. That’s like a rate of 300 GTLs per second with a derivative of 33.3 GTLs repeatin.’
  3. Jersey Turnpike "Exit 12" Guido manlet born in the suburbs of the ‘Garden State.’ While wandering around backstage during a KT event, blackout drunk, he was pushed into the ring with gloves strapped to his hands where he assumed he was in a bar fight and cold-clocked the other guy. The following afternoon, he awoke in a puddle of his own piss and vomit next to a copy of a Grouch FC contract with his signature on it. Professional meatball hunter and grenade jumper.
  4. I didn’t test learning either but I did get this: This is going to be an interesting tournament 😂
  5. The winners for the 3rd and final round of the MMAT Player Made Arena Contest are: Viva La Piramide by @Rocket And Matt Mac Memorial Arena by @Carciofi Congratulations to all the winners across the entire contest. Again we greatly appreciate your dedication and creativity to adding some great new content to the game. Be sure to stay tuned for more contests and other community challenges in the future! And for those who noticed that Sydney and St. Petersburg are left without a large stadium to call their own, there is a plan in place for those locations so look for that down the road!
  6. Decision day again! I’ll be reviewing all submissions for the entire contest and we’ll post our winners here later today! This contest is officially closed to entry and all submissions below this post will not be considered.
  7. The Round 2 winners are as follows: Bronx Stadium by @Jstoner Invictus Stadium by @Rocket Otso Jokinen Arena by @ArtieBanks Congratulations to the winners! I’m also very pleased to announce that the winning arenas are already available in-game! Next Monday concludes both the 3rd round and the contest itself. Feel free to tweak and resubmit any arenas that were not selected through the first two rounds. Slight adjustments could be the key to getting through. Also to reveal a little of the selection criteria as this next round will be a little trickier than the first couple, 2 key factors to an arena being selected are: -If the location already has a new arena -If the manager submitting the arena has already had one selected (no multis) The cities that have not been given a new arena are Sydney, Montreal, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, London, and St Petersburg. I would advise that any new submissions include one of those locations. Good luck!
  8. It’s decision day for Round 2 of the contest! Unfortunately, the actual decision on who won this round will be made tomorrow as over the weekend I was a bit under the weather both figuratively and literally. My power came back on late yesterday, thankfully, and with that I promise to look at all the submissions tonight. Sorry for the delay! All submissions made below this post will be deferred to next week. Thank you again for participating and making this contest a huge success!
  9. “Tacoma Assassin” Freddie Steele

  11. Waiting on @Columbo to give the go ahead.
  12. Like @Rei I’ve also got an approved avatar of my fighter. Excited for this one!
  13. And I will close us out bidding 200k on “Tacoma Assassin” Freddie Steele. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Steele

  15. It’s decision day! Watch this space for the Week 1 results later today. There will be 3 winning arenas this week and the rest of the submissions will also be eligible to be selected next week. So fear not if yours doesn’t make it this round!
  16. After some investigation, the manager profiles involved in the hype farming activities (Floyd Mayweather and Caiu Montana) have been deleted as well as the World Fighting Championships organization. Players who use multiple accounts to exploit game mechanics to provide themselves with an unfair advantage and players who abuse game mechanics to harass or entrap other players into becoming unwilling participants in their cheating are in direct violation of MMAT rules and will be dealt with accordingly. On behalf of Mike and myself, let me say that I have the highest appreciation for players who go out of their way to look out for the well-being of our players and player community. Thank you.
  17. That’s correct. It was originally 1 week, but Mike asked for the first batch to be decided on the week of the 31st due to a scheduling conflict. The plan is to have the new arenas implemented soon after they’ve been announced.
  18. Greetings Tycoon players! As some of you are aware, Mike and I have recently started collaborating to improve MMAT at its core and knock some of the dust off with some new features that will hopefully create a more enjoyable game experience for everyone. As a starting point, we’re currently looking to improve the world that the game plays out in, starting with events. One thing that has been identified repeatedly is a lack of unique arena sizes. To remedy this, we’ve decided to start: The MMA Tycoon Player-Made Arena Contest Concept: Currently, arenas scale gradually in different cities up to 30k seats before jumping to the 93k mega arenas. We want to add new arenas to the game (at least one per city) of varying sizes between 40-80k seats and ideally we want them to be created by the players. Rules: The contest will span multiple weeks, with up to 3 arenas being chosen for the following Monday depending on the volume of submissions. Arenas can be submitted by individual managers or as a group, but we ask that you please limit to one(1) submission a week per group or individual. The arenas can be entirely fictional or based on real life arenas like the current in game arenas, but exact copies of existing arenas will not be considered. Arena submissions must be for cities currently in the game and must come with its own custom logo. The first arenas will be chosen the week of July 31st. Submission Form: Arena Name: Capacity (40k-80k): Location: Creator’s In-game Name(s): Logo (340x165): (Optional:) Feel free to include a short description of the arena, its history, or why you want it in the game. We look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. We know there are some extremely creative people who play the game and this is a fantastic opportunity to create something that will be an integral part of how the game works. Good luck!
  19. Legend has it that Bagel Boss coats himself in cream cheese prior to a fight, the fans want to know: What flavor he went with for your fight?
  20. SPPS 266 Preview Happy Friday! Same as before, I’ll briefly introduce each of the 5 ‘main card’ bouts and give my opinion on what each fighter needs to do to win. #1 Kiryu Kazuma vs. Bagel Boss First fight of this preview features yakuza legend Kiryu Kazuma against possibly mob connected Bagel Boss. Both of these guys are heavy hitters that only accept payment in the form of chins. On paper it seems like Kazuma might have the edge in terms of chin, but Mr. Bagel has been around the block and then some with over 50 fights to his name and that kind of experience comes with a lot of ‘lessons’ learned. Kazuma is a pillar of the SPPS roster, however, and has a storied history of his own. He’s a former champion with multiple title reigns and some absolute wars under his belt. Both of these fighters should be treated as a health hazard and approached with caution on fight night. #2 White Rain vs. Rob Roy Up next is Thai Cheese specialist White Rain against the legendary face cracker Rob Roy. Jokes aside, Rain has actually been on a bit of a tear and is on a 3 fight winning streak with his last 2 finishing inside the distance. Despite being in SPPS for nearly a year and fighting a veritable who’s who in the Lightweight division, Rain has never once fought for the title and he’ll be looking to change that with a victory over Roy. That won’t be easy, however. Roy may have only come to SPPS at the start of the Summer, but he’s made an impact in the division by winning both of his first two fights by knockout. Roy will be looking to steamroll Rain on his way to bid for the right to challenge for the title. #3 Mate Orsic vs. Mister Mediocre Up next is certified strangler Mate Orsic against the unfortunately named Mister Mediocre who is much better than his name and current run of form would lead you to believe. I would say he’s more of a ‘Mister Pretty Good.’ A former SPPS champion who has gotten results in nearly every phase of a fight it’ll certainly be tricky to gameplan against this wily vet, but I have no doubt that Orsic will provide a threatening answer to that question and there’s a very real chance it’ll be the correct answer too. COMAIN Zawisza Czarny Z Garbowa vs. Willy Mataitai Zawisza already has the ‘Longest Name of the Night’ award locked up. Speaking of locking things up, I imagine his gameplan for this fight will consist of locking up with Willy on the ground and attempting to twist one of his limbs off because he spent too much time getting that BJJ red belt to mess around at striking distance. Willy Mataitai, on the other hand, wants to be farming neighbors with Zawzy in that he never wants to be close enough to smell him. Not to say that Willy can’t wrestle, he’s just more about hitting dudes in the face at arm’s length. Both of these sharks have been circling the title picture and a win here would certainly have them smelling blood. MAIN EVENT: WELTERWEIGHT TITLE Vasil Petrov vs. Keisuke Matsuzaka This is a very intriguing main event from a narrative perspective. You have relative newcomer in Petrov coming into SPPS from some other place and winning the title in his second fight for the org and adding to his winning streak and on the other side you have an SPPS legend in Keisuke Matsuzaka making another bid for reclaiming greatness. Admittedly, I’m happy whoever wins because it’s a great fight, but as a Sucker Punch fan you can’t really help but root for Keisuke to make a comeback and beating Petrov would certainly cement him as an all-timer if he wasn’t already.
  21. SPPS 265 Preview Happy 4th to all the Americans reading this and happy Tuesday to everyone else! Welcome to the event preview for SPPS 265! In our feature main event the lightweight title is up for grabs as “Front Man” Kurt Cobain looks to stave off the challenge of Maximus “Snakebite” Furioto! Same as before, I’ll briefly introduce each of the 5 ‘main card’ bouts and give my opinion on what each fighter needs to do to win. #1 Red Jesus Karter vs. Roger Michael Stanley I honestly needed a double take when I saw this one. There’s a vast amount of Karter clones floating around MMAT but I think this one takes it as far the avatar is concerned. Red has a fair amount of power, notching the vast majority of his wins via KO, and also demonstrates some wrestling acumen when he feels like doing so. Going 22 fights without being KOd once is also no easy feat and when paired with the spicy heat of his strikes it’s not hard to see what his path to victory is. Across from him is a man with three first names and you KNOW to expect anything from a guy like that. Roger Michael Stanley has very similar strengths as his opponent from an outside perspective, he’s a natural finisher with 15 wins inside the distance. He does tend to struggle when his opponents refuse to lose consciousness, but I don’t think he’ll have to worry about that considering what we know of his dance partner. #2 Antonio Barbosa vs. Nova Lankinen This next fight is a rematch of a fairly recent fight at SPPS 210. Antonio “Barbarian” Barbosa’s nickname certainly checks out, as he seems incredibly insistent on grabbing his opponents in a clinch and going absolutely berserk. A man of simple tastes, Barb has made a career of mowing people down in the clinch and that’s exactly what happened in the first fight and I imagine he’ll have the same gameplan going into this one. Lankinen’s chances hinge on either avoiding the clinch altogether or going blow for blow with a “Barbarian” who cares as much for his own safety as he does for his opponent’s. Lankinen is more of a variable threat, capable of fisting his opponents at a distance and while sitting on them on the ground. Neither one of those are Barbosa’s comfort zone, so if Nova can manage to stay in either of his favored phases of the fight, he certainly has a shot of putting his opponent away. #3 Parta Matti vs. Will Wrecks This is the kind of matchup I really enjoy writing about. You already know what these two big boys are going to do when the fight starts, and that’s stand in the middle of the ballroom and swing. Parta Party hails directly from The House of 1000 Corpses gym where Heavyweight greats Noah Anderson and Kjetil Olsen reside amongst an extensive cast of no-chin bang bros. Parta knows that he can only return with victory or death and has all the motivation to go straight at his opponent. Playing the part of Captain Buzzkill is Will Wrecks who also plans to either return with his shield or on it, but that might be more due to his lack of self preservation. A question this fight looks to answer is whether Dopamine or Seratonin gives you a better chance of winning a fight. COMAIN Eemeli Lampi vs. Ali Amir It certainly feels as if we’ve been spoiled with all these great heavyweight matchups lately. Eemeli Lampi is another Finn that likes to throw down with his most recent contest being against the champ, Noah Anderson. We know Anderson hits hard, so it was wild to see Lampi get up from consecutive Anderson knockdowns. The guy definitely has heart and he’s got power to boot and he’ll need both against his opponent. Ali Amir is a big heavyweight standing at 202cm, 16cm taller than his opponent and on top of that has a little bit of a submission game making him all around dangerous. More than likely the fight ends in a KO, but the potential for big boy grappling is always intriguing. MAIN EVENT: LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE Kurt Cobain vs. Maximus Furioto I know what you’re thinking: “Rush, that super cool poster for the event isn’t showing the actual avatars for the fighters! What’s the meaning of this?” Fear not, concerned reader, for the reason is I cannot stand the idea of using the generic avatars to make an event poster. I simply won’t do it. Sometimes I get a cool idea and can work around it every once in a while, but I’d honestly rather make a brand new custom avatar for the guy than put that on a poster. If either of them want, I’d gladly turn the models on the poster into a legit avatar and let them have it for free just to cut down on the number of generic avatar heads in SP. That honestly goes for anyone on the roster, but I digress: Cobain is a really fun fighter to read about. You can go through his fights since he’s been under his current management and it seems like he’s got a new plan or strategy every time he’s out there and he never seems like he’s in that much trouble. He gets plenty of opportunity to utilize his power, too, notching 2 KO victories in his last 3 against the former champ Ranger Alderidge. The other half of this main event is Maximus Furioto, a Japanese outlaw biker and submission specialist. As fun as Cobain is as a fighter, he definitely lacks any kind of submission grappling, something that Furioto will look to capitalize on with back to back ‘Sub of the Night’ awards. The only thing I really want to point out is that while Furioto’s striking leaves a lot to be desired, going 2/31 on takedown attempts like in their last fight isn’t going to help him out very much, especially considering this fight is 5 rounds instead of 3.
  22. The bout agreement has been signed! Picklemania is now official!
