  1. Any info on when any changes are expected or are we still on the talking about it level?
  2. Yeah of course man, I'm making this all up... Mike's words: "It looks at the "get up" slider. I think x5 that (or x4, I can't remember for sure), to get a %. So if you do 15% get up from the ground, it would x5 to get 75%. So then we've got a 75% chance of even running the escape move.... that is to say, not a 75% chance of the escape working, just a 75% chance that they even try. So basically, I'm rewarding people who actually try to get up in general ground game from the bottom, with this extra bonus. If you're never going to try and get up from the bottom on the ground, you won't be getting this extra bonus move."
  3. Well, exactly. Like combos, if you set it higher (the get up slider) the chances of hitting it is higher. But failing the attempts may get you in trouble, so don't spam unless you're feeling lucky. You can't spam anything else in this game if you want to be successful so why should escapes be an exception? People just have to learn to use the get up slider like it's meant to be used, I suppose. In my understanding the instant escapes ARE linked to get up slider value anyway just like regular escapes even though you may perceive them as separate entities. That slider is now probably too heavily used and it might not mean the slider has to be even close to half way to get the guaranteed escape try. And if it fails oh well you just have to spend a little time on the ground but probably not long since it will get stood up anyway.
  4. I would get rid of instant escapes and the predictions too. That would mean the strikers would have to work for the escapes but it would still be a viable route out of danger instead of a free pass. There would still be a possibility to get an almost instant escape but that would be achieved by risky/daring sliders which could also backfire. Putting escapes under the finish/control in the hierarchy sounds sensible. Reduce the Ground Top slider role in getting sweeps and tie sweeps more into the finish slider. Also the difficulty of a takedown versus striker aggression should be tuned a bit, counter takedowns have been almost dead for a longer while now. I'd also double check whether the escape training speed boosting has been normalized.
  5. Congrats to Donny. Once again an instant escape from every takedown, no matter whether from clinch or shoot. It's clear there is no room for ground action on the top anymore. I have to evaluate whether to continue Hurmio's career anymore.
  6. 12 minutes to go, did some last minute slider tweaks for Tuomari. Hopefully it will be a good fight and whatever happens, happens.
  7. Alright, not necessarily an error but I have finally reached the point I really have to ask, is the temporary training boost for escapes still active? Should it be anymore? It sure seems like it's still going on and people are really taking advantage of it. I checked it out and my mid-level-escapes guy got almost 4.5 point gain per session, seems awfully lot. I suppose with this training speed every high level fighter who uses escapes have elite in there and won't have to worry about maintaining it either. Maybe also a great "tool" to reallocate points for skill capped older fighters with speed that cannot be achieved by normal means, massive gains to escapes and the points will come off from something, the skills you haven't trained for longest (=the ones not needed anyway)? This combined with the current engine setup, we now have constantly fights where every takedown ends up in instant escape. It really sucks the life out of the ground game and makes me and I'm sure many others to lose motivation for this great game. Sorry about the little rant but the question still remains. Could you Mike check this out, please? Thank you.
  8. For me probably these two gentlemen because of the amount of fights I've had against them, 21 against both: 11-8-2 Chris Karter 10-11 Michael Knight Most of those fights could have gone either way, always close fights.
  9. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/34/34w4.jpg Tuomari Hurmio Well Ron, I see you want to be The MAN. I can respect that shit so challenge accepted. You're on a great run but don't be fooled, once it hits the ground you will be in my world, not the other way around. Let's do this.
  10. "Hurmio just survived" or "Hurmio dominated him the full 5 rounds". I guess it depends on how you want to put it out there.
  11. Mr Bear Jew vs Tuomari Hurmio? An Olympic Gold Medalist versus an Olympic Gold Medalist.
  12. Funny. Bowser has made a living out of beating grapplers with strikers stalling on the ground with quick ref standups and now that he's the one with the grappler receiving the same treatment everything is broken. Well, half joking here. Most of us know things need to be adjusted but most of us also have mostly strikers so they are not bothered about it.
  13. #2P4P vs #4P4P (#3P4P at the time offer was made) ain't "some shit". On the contrary more people should have balls to do it instead of sitting around waiting for suitable offers. And it's Ricky not Rinky.
  14. Thank you. With full energy would have won this thing in my opinion. But everyone has their opinions. It's a shame anyway.
  15. Shit, forgot to make flight arrangements so Hurmio coming to the 145 finale with severely lacking energy. What a stupid way to give up the tournament and take a first career loss.
  16. Shit happens. That's about all I want to say about that.

    Energy issue?

I think he did restore the energy (and removed injuries) for the winners at EVO Olympic event for some reason + Stormcrow who had an other fight. I noticed the same with my fighter Gatame.
  18. Well done with the write up, enjoyed it. (Azure did not have a disastrous first round defeat, he was a finalist.)
  19. Nice touch with the posters but I have no idea why there is a weird Swedish song for Helsinki. Can't think of any connection to Finland...
  20. Barnabas I hear what you are saying and to some extent I agree, it's pretty hard to define what things are to be emphasized and with what weight. By common sense though fighters fighting in the "UFCs" should be somehow valued more than fighters in the "Bellators". And like you said there is always a loser in those high calibre fights as well. There should be some kind of prestige factor added to the hype for fighting in the big leagues or something As you took me as an example (I didn't create the thread to complain I should in the top 10 cause clearly I don't deserve it right now), so I lost the 7 fights. Two of them were Olympic finals, there was an EVO title fight, SPNY title fight. And there was one QFC fight which I just threw my fresh creation into the fire to see his hiddens and was always going to lose it. The QFC loss was about equal manager rank drop than in the losses mentioned earlier which does not seem just. Also, the guys who beat me in those high prestige fights didn't get enough rank gain in my opinion. I can see how you Barnabas can say "just don't lose" and you have admittedly done damn fine job in breeding your youth (just wait for them skill caps... ). But you cannot really say you have been challenged in those fights, title or not. Also, if we take a look at the top 10 fighter rankings, there are frequently cases of fighter dropping rank just because the other guys had fights and went past him. He didn't lose, he just didn't fight at that time. So the same should apply to managers too. You don't have to lose but if you don't fight or you fight lower comp then someone who won big should absolutely be able to go past you even if they had some losses that month.
  21. Last month I finished second in the Division 1 League 1 Pyramid standings one single point behind Lance and I think my ranking was marginally lower at the end of the month than in the beginning...
  22. Okay just an observation or two from a shitty manager so bear with me... I know the new manager ranking system is still sort of looking its place but nevertheless it has been active for two months now (that's 41 fights for me personally) and I am quite a bit downhearted about the way it's going at the moment. If you look at the Manager Competition page under Worst Comp Rating you will basically find the current Top 10 managers (with an exception or two). I'm really not trying to bash anyone at all, but there it is to be seen. So in order to reach the top 10 (manager wise) nowadays you gotta fight mostly with newbie fighters and/or at low/mid level orgs. If you have project beasts in ID restricted orgs even better. Good managers with the most dangerous fighters in the game battle each other weekly in the highest stage of them all and do not get much for it rank wise. Lately from what I've seen very little seems to change inside the Top 10 and at least to me it seems really hard to climb into Top 10 if you have mostly veteran fighters because one loss negates 5-6 good wins. Sometimes I feel the best rank gains inside a month are the days I don't fight at all. Just saying, it ain't looking very encouraging so far in my opinion.
  23. It's gonna be: "Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Jinx). Jensen Saint!"
  24. ../gallery/33/33w12.jpg Heisenberg: Okay punk, let's fight then.
