  1. I am not sure he has huge potential, i mean the guy is 37y old and this is his first fight. I think he will make some nice money though, maybe land 1-2 big fights.
  2. I do not think anyone was expecting that.
  3. Going into the 10th game, Spurs is still first, above Arsenal in 2nd place. City play United today, but even if City wins, they cannot catch Spurs up. I am still waiting for Spurs to start slipping, but at the moment we seem to be getting better. With Bentacur coming back this weekened and Johnson back from his injury, i see us being stronger next week (at least on paper).
  4. Before this fight happened, most people had Fury way ahead, they expected him to go in, play around for a few rounds and then push the pace around the 6-7th round and get the finish. The only people who had Ngannou with any chance are MMA fighters and people training him such as Mike Tyson. If you watched the fight you will already know that this is not what happened. Ngannou basically did the exact opposite of what people expected him to do, most people expected him to rush in, try to get the early finish and that he would probably not land anything and will likely tire about the mid way point. Not only did he not rush the gameplan and was patient, he landed lots of shots, had Fury knocked down in the 3rd and clearly won at least a few of those rounds. When it went the distance though, i was certain they would give it to Fury because frankly speaking "this is boxing", they would never give a decision win to a "MMA Fighter", that would be a disgrace to boxing. When it ended, i was not 100% if Ngannou had done better though, i had him 8-10 in the 3rd, he clearly won the 7th and maybe the 8th, Fury won the 1st, 9th, but the rest were toss up rounds. What is so shocking to me though is how these judges actually rate rounds, this is how they had the rounds: https://twitter.com/mmamania/status/1718436752321577376/photo/1 Besides the 3rd and 5th, 6th, 9th rounds, they could not agree on any of the rest. Is it really that difficult to rate a round? In MMA we generally have most rounds rated correctly, sure there have been some fiasco's, but damn, we rarely see 6 rounds out of 10 being inaccurate or undecisive. In boxing though, we get this shit all the time. It is rediculous to be honest. Either way, how did you score the fight? Was this a robbery or what?
  5. Sitsongrit Kersikov Barnes River Are 4 familes that come to mind immediately.
  6. Mauro Okongwu (363987) vs Karim Johnson (347353) DMMA vs GAMMA approved
  7. DMMA and GAMMA in negotiations regarding 2 super fights in the HW and LHW divisions, it depends on results during the weekend.
  8. I watched the game with my brother and he said a wise thing "to win the league you need to be a bit lucky". It is 1st of October and we have a win over Liverpool, United and a draw away to Arsenal, plus the team is just formed. Most of these players were either not playing or not here 1 or 2 years ago. With exception of Son, i do not think we have anyone over 27y in the starting 11. The coach does not seem like a total nuthead and plays football the fans want to see, so the future seems bright. I do not think we will win the league, mainly because City is just way better than everyone else (then again they lost away to Wolves this week and their depth is not that great this year), but i think that at least it will be fun to watch.
  9. It was not pretty, Spurs beat Liverpool at home 2-1 in the 96th minute via an own goal. Liverpool were playing with 10 players from the 25th minute and with 9 players from the 70th minute, lots of yellow cards in this game, 11 in total. But end of the day, it is a win and we move into 2nd place, being the only team with Arsenal to not lose this year.
  10. Regarding the other players you mentioned. Klinsmann during his first run was remarkable, during his second run he basically saved us from going down. Ginola was fantastic for a couple of years after he joined us from Newcastle, Graham totally ruined him. I do remember Hoddle barely as well. I think Bale is probably the best player i have ever seen in a Spurs shirt though, those 2-3 years he had, it was almost like he was a Cyborg or something, he would just get the ball from beyond the half line and just pass everyone and fire a rocket, but it all started with this game against Inter:
  11. Damn, you are older than me! Interesting you mentioned Greaves, I would had loved to watch Greaves play, i think he is probably the most underrated British striker in history that almost nobody knows. He is the only striker to be named top scorer 6 times AND he is the all time top flight top scorer, but nobody knows that, everyone thinks Shearer is the all time scorer, but that is just EPL goals. Everyone knows that Haaland scorered 36 goals last year, which is an EPL record..................well Greaves got 41 in a season back when it was Division 1, in fact he got 20 or more 11 times, that is rediculous! Note: They used to have 42 games per season back then, now it is 38, but still. Greaves is also the 5th highest English scorer while playing just 57 games (he scorered 44 goals). He missed out on the WC final due to injury and did not get his gold medal until 2009, even though during the qualifiers he was the top scorer for the team.
  12. So yeah, i have went through a really big dry period with Spurs. As i often say, if you support Spurs, it means you are a real fan, because you are not spporting this team due to the success they give us on the pitch. 32 god damn years of not winning absolutely nothing besides a couple of League cups (which are not exactly trophies). My dad has suppoted Spurs since the early 70s and although they were better then (they won a couple of UEFFA cups and were more consistent in the FA Cup), my dad has never seen them win the league either and he is in his 70s now. I always hear from some of our fans that the bigger clubs have a much bigger budget, yes it is bigger but the difference is not that huge. At the same time we have seen much lesser teams win acheive much bigger feats in football and that includes the EPL. Anyway, that is me rambling, we are playing good football now and i like our new manager (which also has Greek roots by the way, he was born in Greece!). I think he made some stupid mistakes during the past game, taking off Son AND Maddison did not make any sense to me, Son had 2 goals, Maddison had 2 assists and is probably our best player now, unless that injury he got was serious, you do not take him off. He also played with fire regarding Udogie, Sarr and Romero, they were all on yellow cards from the first half. We basically was holding on after he took those 2 off.
  13. I was born in South London (which is why my second team is Crystal Palace, my home was walking distance from the stadium Selhurst Park), but started supporting Spurs back in the early 80s, mainly because my dad was a Spurs fan. Most Greek Cypriots in London support either Spurs or Arsenal. Obviously i was young in the 80s and barely remember much. I do remember the 1991 cup final very well though, with Paul Gascoigne scoring this in the semi against Arsenal:
  14. Yeah, it was a good draw in the end, i think both set of fans should be happy with the game. It was pretty high quality and both played to win.
  15. GAMMA: Billy Arseworth (74054) HOF Induction I am proud to announce that Billy Arseworth (74054) is the newest induction to the GAMMA Hall of Fame! Billy is one of the greatest MMA Tycoon managers, already in the discussion as being the best manager ever. He has been inducted to the games HOF for several years now. In GAMMA he is better known as the manager of the highest rated GAMMA fighter, Joosep Lohmus (325071), who was also inducted this month. All in all, Billy has a 43-15-3 record. His winning % of 70.48% is one of the highest ever achieved in GAMMA, ranked 6th among all HOF managers. He has been involved in an incredible 42 total profile fights (Title + Super fights), which ranks him 13th in the all time list. It is incredible because he only had a total of 61 fights., which means more than 2/3 of his fights were a profile fight. His total accumulation of points is 461, which ranks him 25th among all managers all time. Among all managers ranked above him, nobody has ever achived this total with just 61 total fights In short, Billy is a quality over quantity manager. One of the best managers there ever was or that exist in the game these days.
  16. Was a good game against Arsenal, 2-2 away for Spurs. We came from behind 2 times, their goals were from a penalty and an own goal, we deserved the point. Liverpool this week.
  17. That seems to be the general concensus, that now we are playing proper old school "Spurs football", in other words, attacking, attractive football, win or lose, we will entertain.
  18. Spurs have done great, but the next 2 games will show where we really are. Arsenal this week and Liverpool next week.
  19. Yeah, i have played this game and come back to it every now and then, have not played for a while though.
  20. Nice win by Spurs, 5-2 against Burnley. Ange made some good adjustments, he put Son center and played Solomon on the left wing. Son ended up with a hatrick and Solomon had 2 assists, so yeah, the changes worked. Richarlison has failed so far to become the "new Harry Kane", not that anyone expected him to do that, but with the Son adjustment paying off and us also signing a new winger for 50m, it seems Richy will be benched this year again.
  21. I am proud to announce the induction of Joosep "Little Bunny" Lohmus (325071) into the GAMMA Hall of Fame! Joosep's career was legendary, spanning in GAMMA from 2019-10-05 until 2023-07-22! Over 4 real life years! He originally was managed by Hall of Fame manager Alex K. (84400), but after going 1-2, Alex released him to be picked up by another HOF manager in Billy Arseworth (74054). Joosep went on to have a total of 61 (which is ranked joint 6th all time) fights for GAMMA, fighting and holding onto the 205lbs title up until 43y of age! Joosep competed in a total of 35 title fights (which is a GAMMA record) and 8 super fights (joint 4th all time). His total of Super + Title fights of 43 is joint first with Renan St Juste. He is an unpresidented 8 time 205lbs GAMMA champion! His first title he won back in 2020-08-08 and he was last champion in 2023-06-24. His overral GAMMA record was 42-17-2, only 4 fighters had more overral wins (2 of them had more due to their GAMMA affiliate participations, which are also included in the formula). Arguably his biggest distiction is the fact that he is considered an all time great in the game as he has been voted twice the 205lbs in game fighter of the year! He also had a Olympics Silver medal back in 2022. Remarkably, Joosep was never the GAMMA fighter of the year, however he did come second on two occasions in 2021 and 2022. He also failed to get inducted into the in game HOF, he reached 3rd place on 3 different occasions though. He was involved in masses of legendary fights, beating the likes of Jack Sullivan, Mohammed Kahn x2, Sammy Beach, Mantak Garuda, Joseph Stalinovich, Hurricane Defoe, Cerberus Dionisy, Damagon Enchrya, Anthony Falcone, Thomas Bolleke, Robert MacArthur Jnr. And here i listed only some of the biggest names! His rivalry with Song Turillo is the best in GAMMA's history and most likely the longest and most impressive in the game's history as well. Joosep ended up winning 4-3-1! The is a truely special induction today because Joosep is actually the highest rated fighter in GAMMA history with 633 points! Surpassing Renan St Juste (102580) who has 599 and Jeremy Tonal (31632) who has 569! A combination of consistency and competing at the very top is what got him there. Maybe the only things that are missing on his resume is adding the Olympics Gold, GAMMA Fighter of the year and #1 in game, to be considered arguably the greatest ever. Either way, he is at least in the discussion.
  22. Yeah, it has not been the best year. Jay and Bray are actually pretty young guys as well.
