Before their scheduled fight, i managed to get an interview with both James Silver and Harald Friedrichsen. a lot of you have been wanting to get answers on some of YOUR questions. So i took some out, and asked the fighters those same questions. For the answers, read below.

Hi, my name is Roy Goos and i'm doing the interview for Harald and Silver. I will be asking you both the same questions, and will post your answers in the smacktalk thread. So, here they are.

Hello and welcome to the interview, my first question is; you both came off a vert impressive win in QFC. It's rare to see a non-decision fight. Does this affect your mindset?

Harald Friedrichsen: It can definitely affect ones outlook, but one must remember that the QFC is a place where you can get fight with highly skilled opponent looking to hype themselves up or more likely find new managers and fighters looking for practice etc... My manager has some experience and has cautioned me against getting too confident about that win. I have been in training for quite sometime. And the QFC fight for me was just to build confidence. I am disciplined and dedicated and I will not take Silver or anyone else lightly.

Silver: no i go for the early finnish every time do not get paid overtime

Both your managers are rookies, let's agree on that. They both have quite an even record, but both of you have to be their up and coming fighters. Do you feel the same way about this?

Harald Friedrichsen: Anthony Tinsdell is fighting for Lightweight Title in one month. I would think that makes him the number one prospect in the Falcone camp... ha ha. But all kidding aside, I am just one of several guys in the Falcone camp. I do what I need to do and I hope to keep making good fights. To call Brunno a Rookie might not be exactly fair. He has many more fights under his belt and his record has improved very much in recent months.

Silver: yes i have only had 1 fight and won and it is not a big stable so winning must make me stand out a bit.

Of course, in NEI you don't necessarily need skill to reach for title shots. If you've got the mic-skill to compete in the big leagues, and can fight to back up your words, you can easily become one of the contenders. However, we haven't seen that much of both of you. How come?

Harald Friedrichsen: One of the main reasons I became interested in martial arts is because of the discipline and respect I saw other fighter show for each other and the sport. I am a professional fighter. I fight because I am being paid to. I see no reason to make fight personal. It only makes the people uhhh... how you say? Talking smack? It makes them look like uncouth savages. I am not a savage.

Silver: i am new to this game so still working every thing out i would fight every day if i could.

Age and experience never fail to play roles in fights. You both have the same amount of experience, but James Silver is quite a bit older then Harald Friedricksen. Many people think of this as a huge role in this fight too. How do you feel?

Harald Fridrichsen: His age does represent a considerable advantage. One that cannot be taken lightly. He has had 7 years more training time and in theory that could also mean more physical development as well. But I have been very dedicated and practically live in the gym. I think that may have erased some of that advantage. I guess we will both see when the fight is through and the dust settles, so to speak.

Silver: age is nothing if u you can fight you can fight where men not kids.

It's a known fact that you both have equal stand-up skills. James Silver on the other hand, has a bit more of wrestling. A good stand-up fight is always appreciated by the fans, but GnP is a fun addition to the cast. Do you agree? And will you try to avoid it?

Harald Friedrichsen: It would obviously do me little good to go to the ground with an opponent that has superiour ground skills. My best chance at victory lies with my striking ability.

Silver: what ever it takes to win.

The overall edge has to be given to James Silver in this fight, but Harald Friedricksen is probably aware of his role as the underdog in this fight. Am i right? And does this also play a role in the fight, in your opinion?

Harald Fridrichsen: Underdog am I? He he... OK. I'll have to just prove otherwise. I believe that my training coupled by my managent teams experience will put together a fight plan that will lead me to victory. I am not underestimating Silver. I am just saying that I have faith in my teams abilities. And in my own abilities too, of course.

Silver: i do not see myself as favarite as under dog you try that bit harder to prove everyone wrong because there is no better feeling than winning my friend.

The last question i have written down for now is; Do you think you can win this fight? And if so, where do you think this will take you?

Harald Friedrichsen: I know I can win this fight. I have every confidence in that. Silver can win this fight also. But I think that means he must take me to the ground. If he does not, then I will win. As far as where this takes me? Every journey begins with just one step. A win over Silver will just be the first of those steps on my journey. The destination is no different for me than it is for Silver. We seek the ultimate prize. The MMA Heavyweight World Title. But I am not looking past this first step. It is a marathon, not a sprint.

Silver: 7 yes i can see myself winning and that just means i am one more step closer to where i need to be im not calling for a title shot our any thing like that because i am nowhere near the top fighters yet but keep winning and training hard who knows in a few more fights maybe.

Thank you both for your time, i would like to wish you both good luck in your fight. May the best man win.

Despite all the tough talk Silver seemed to bring in this interview, he cowardly seems to claim he's the better man in this fight, and also have more guts in a way. However, The fight-obsessed Harald Friedrichsen could prove to be a force to be aware of in this fight. We will see on the 18th who comes out on time. I am Roy Goos, and i'm signing out.

BB: Listen Cornish i do have respect for you i like watching your fights and your skills are ligit. But at the end of the day mines are better and when we step into the cage against each other i will win, i have never been koed sub or even knocked down. I do respect you and you have got skills but tell me how you could beat me cause i dont see it buddy.

JC: "Your stupidity amazes me. If you like watching my fights, that's awesome for you. Way to learn. But face it. I've had way more fights than you, and just that takes it to tell you how much i know about my skill. How many fights have you had? 7?"

After a long discussion with his manager, Jeremy Cornish posted another video on YouTube.

JC: "Ladies and gentlemen. I have realised, that MMA is my calling. Holding that title is my destiny. Keeping it is my future. I have faith in my abilities. Do you, Askren? I have a new entrance theme, that will guide me to the cage appropriately. Do you?"

The video quickly pans out.

Leo: "Zis bad blood whine does not become a former Champion, or a former Champion's manager. Axsept und move on. I am not a chicken, I have no vings...or feathers. Zis insult is stoopid. My manager said to Mr Folon zat I vud axsept a fight viz Mr Stag if I have von month notice, and would axsept no ozzer fights for sree weeks, UNLESS Mr Holmes vanted a rematch, in vich case I vud axsept immediately. He even said to Mr Holmes manager immediately after zee fight zat if Mr Holmes vanted a rematch then I vud axsept. I vill not continue viz bad blood, I vish Mr Holmes luck in his fight vis Mr Stag...and look forvard to meeting either in zee ring aftervards."

Chuck Boris short release

Well in all honesty I don't remember what kind of champion asks for one month notice, u haven't see Holmes asking anything like that, Holmes accepted Stag's challenge right away and lost in a quite close manner.

Leo Kaiser looks to me like former 170lbs champion Bobby Brown who did not defend his title for ages maybe he asked for a couple of months notice too. Anyway, the thing is Kaiser could face a lot of potential challengers yet he's content just to ask for long period notice and other absurd conditions, u'll have Holmes rematch as well so be prepared...

Leo: laughing... "You cannot let zis go can you. Where is zis list of challengers? Only Stag has challenged...Zis 'list' is small my friend. I am not Holmes. I am not zis Bobby Brown person. Asking for 1 month to fight Stag is no big thing...prepare is good...good fight is good! Also what 'absurd conditions'? You make zings up...tell lies...shame, Leo think Holmes manager honorable man. Was Leo wrong? Pleez, stop playing zis silly game. It is not vorking."

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

-------------------------

It's only been a few hours since Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek picked up his first win, but that didn’t stop him from issueing out a little statement now that he is officially part of Nonstop Entertainment Incorporated.

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

As some of you probably have heard already.. I got my first win via TKO earlier today, and the day is only getting better. I’m glad that I can inform you that I am now officially contracted to Nonstop Entertainment Incorporated. The heavyweight division seems to be a challenge.. but if one man can make an impact there, it would be me. I know I just been signed to the company, but I believe that a title shot is coming very soon. The champion, Kerry Lawson, better keeps on winning and defending his championship because I want to face him for when I get my shot at the gold. I don’t care who I have to get out of the way to get my shot, all that matters is that I get it. If there is anyone feeling tough enough to face me, you know where to reach me or the bosses. I won’t run like a bitch.. I’ll leave that up to you guys.

With that, Marco’s statement came to an end.

-------------------------

OOC: First post for Kroepoek, hope you guys enjoyed it. Don’t take it to heart with what I said, it’s just Kroepoek being a dick :P

Harald "The Viking Warrior" Friedrichsen

Mr. Kroepoek, I have a fight already for tomorrow. After that fight is done I would be happy to step into the cage with you. You are very anxious to fight. I am also. So after I defeat "Sentx" Silver tomorrow, let us discuss contract and agree to terms. Welcome to the NEI.

Jeremy Cornish: "Brown... You claim you are gonna retire me from MMA. I fail to see how you will. A fight? You cant force me to. I'll put it like this; You can try to submit me, which i can do too. You can knock me out, which i can do too. See my points? Anything you can do, i do a lot better. Besides, if we will get that chance to fight, are you sure that Bobby "Clutterfuck" Brown wont dodge me like you dodged everyone else? Bobby. We will fight, even if i get that title tonight, no shot for you."

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek had word of what Harald "The Viking Warrior" Friedrichsen had said and was delighted to reply.

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

I can respect that you step up and show some spine by wanting to face me, Harald. Not every man is as brave as you and I. It would be my pleasure to face you in my debut match for NEI, so good luck in your match and make sure you come out victorious. After that, I'm all ears for any offer the company makes us. You won't have to worry about me declining, and going by your respone, I doubt that you would either. We'll talk soon Harald, and get the wheels turning to get this match done for NEI.

OOC: Thanks for the PM and letting me know of the reply :)

NEI - Ignition (15) PREVIEW

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1307968973NEI.jpg

Silver vs. Friedricksen

Seriously... I've been writing for a while now and some guys really have some tricky names. I think Friedricksen is up there when it comes to tough names. Anyway we've got Silver a ground fighter going up against a muay thai striker in Friedricksen. In his previous fight Friedricksen has shown us his kickboxing prowess as he demolished his opponents with kicks. Now instead of defending from strikes he has to defend from Silver's takedowns. Silver still has to show us his skills because 40 seconds is not enough to properly scout a fighter. I think Silver has the edge here because he can dictate where the fight will go and his ground skills far more superior against Friedricksen's.

PREDICTION:

Silver via Unanimous Decision

Askren vs. Cornish

A lot of trash talking has been going on between these two. Now is the time to shut up and let their hands do the talking. Cornish has had a rocky road in his NEI career with a record of 5-3 in his stay at the organization. He has stirred a lot of attention and now his wish has been granted to have a swing at the 170 lbs. title. The welterweight champion is no joke. In Askren's stay at the org. he has been undefeated and he has yet to be stopped. He is like a jack of all trades who can do anything inside the cage but as we all know a jack of all trades is a master of none. We'll see if Cornish ground game is superior to Askren's diverse attack.

PREDICTION:

Askren via Unanimous Decision

Barbarossa vs. Costanza

We have two purists going up against each other in this one. Barbarossa is a pure boxer while Costanza is a pure BJJ fighter. In early stages I usually favour grapplers since if the striker doesnt have decent takedown defense they usually fall flat on their back and if it goes to the ground it's usually a feast for the grappler. For this one it's a toss coin because both have the same level of wrestling but judging from Barbarossa's record it's likely that he will score a knock out once again in this one.

PREDICTION:

Barbaross via TKO/KO

Carnophage vs. Mitchell

Carnophage has dominated his opponents with his powerful punches. But in his previous fight I was shocked that he couldn't finish off his opponents. In his past fights anyone who feels Carnophage's knuckle land on their faces go to sleep. Mitchell has shown good chin and it will be tested against Carnophage's power. Mitchell has the advantage of being diverse in this fight. He can kick and punch and go to the clinch as well but I think Carnophage's power is just too much for him to handle.

PREDICTION:

Carnophage via TKO/KO

Brown vs. Peterson

We've got to very different fighters clashing in this fight. Adrian has showed his prowess in the thai clinch in his fights. He has cut and knocked out his opponents with his vicious elbows, knees and punches. Brown on the other hand has shown different kinds of submissions in his fights and he has only lost once in his career. Peterson has tremendous amount of wrestling and if he has the skills to stuff takedowns, I see Brown eating shots in the thai clinch in this one.

PREDICTION:

Peterson via TKO/KO

Stag vs. Holmes

The old classic, Striker vs. Grappler in this match up. Holmes' last 3 fights have been all decision wars. Two of which he lost. If Holmes wants to earn a title shot in his division he must stack up his wins. With some more training I think he will be a definite contender for that belt. Stag is on the right track winning 5 straight. It looks to be that Holmes is only a stepping stone for Stag in his quest for the title. If Holmes fails for even once to stuff Stag's takedown it will be another loss for him in this one.

PREDICTION:

Stag via Submission

Busta vs. Kuuharja

After hitting a two fight losing streak, Kuuharja has bounced back with his previous match with a TKO win over a skilled opponent in Nahka. He is now faced against Busta who's got an awesome record of 13 wins 11 of which are from TKO/KO's and with 9 loses. If Kuuharja is smart enough he it is a must that he will not trade punches against Busta in this fight. He must utilize his BJJ advantage against a very skilled striker like Busta.

PREDICTION:

Kuuharja via Submission

Kirijenko vs. Edward

I'm sure Edward isn't really happy with his performance in NEI. He is still finding in that first win in NEI. He has been finished in his last two fights and I don't think anyone wants to start off his career in a new organization like that. Same thing goes for Kirijenko. His first fight NEI is his only in the org. These two are very promising fighters and I believe they have what it takes to make it big in this org.

PREDICTION:

Edward via TKO/KO

CO-MAIN EVENT

Khan vs. Lee

The Little dragon from the Philippines is going against the submission specialist from Sweden. Lee has shown us in his previous match that experience is better than talent when he destroyed undefeated youngster Hong Kong Phooey. His ground game will now be tested with Khan's Jiu Jitsu. This will be a very tough match up for Khan since Lee has the superior wrestling. I see Lee stopping Khan's attempts for takedowns and dominate the stand up.

PREDICTION:

Lee via Unanimous Decision

MAIN EVENT

Inoue vs. Kalenth

Kalenth is paving his way to a title shot with his 4 fight winning streak. Despite him not finishing his opponents in his previous fights, he has yet to be stopped since Ignition (9). He has used his wrestling pedigree to stuff takedowns and dominate fighters with his boxing. His opponent is Yuya Inoue. A definite monster on the ground who has finished his opponents with his dazzling submissions. Since Ignition (10) he has been on a rocky road struggling to string multiple wins. This time he is set to fight a sprawl and brawl fighter who has no BJJ background. Kalenth has showed us he is one hell of tough man to takedown that will be the fine line between him winning and losing the match against Inoue's BJJ.

PREDICTION:

Inoue via Submission

Kaiser....It's Time!!! Stag has waited too long to break your leg, I dont understand why, but Stag has developed a real hatred for you Leo and even refuses to watch any films with Mr Dicaprio in. You must accept as I feel Stag will not move on with his life until he makes you tap!

Just one last message from Stag, "I hope that after we fight, we can still remain enemies"

Well Well Well... Looks like we got what we wanted Harald. Excellent.. I've signed the contract and I am looking forward to the match with you, as I know that against a man with your style, I can go toe to toe and show the NEI fans just exactly what I am capable of. I do want to congratulate you with your win, you showed that you've got a lot of talent with your Muay Thai.. and I know that you would love to get a 3rd win in a row. However it's a shame that I am standing in your way of achieving such a thing. I respect that you accepted the fight.. it shows that you are different from the other.. dare I say.. heavyweight wimps. It is an honor to face you, and may the best fighter win..

Harald "The Viking Warrior" Friedricksen

Harald Friedricksen: Well met, Mr. Kroepoek. I looked over your fight video and bio after having signed the contract. I must say you are indeed a worthy opponent. Quite possibly the most dangerous I have ever faced so far. I expect that even should I emerge victorious that we will be seeing much more of each other in the ring. I am OK with this. I am dutifully pursuing my training and I hope to at the very least make for a battle that will be talked about for years. Good luck, my friend.

Marco "Hot Legs" Kroepoek

I share that same feeling, Harald. This fight will be a battle, and that's something the fans HAVE to expect. But I have to say that whoever wins this battle... doesn't win the war. Looking around, it seems that you and I will become the main focus of the heavyweight division. And I expect nothing less but greatness coming from my run with NEI and my match, or matches with you. This match will be start of something bigger, and it may define our careers. The fans may remember us mostly for the battles we are going to put up, and the back to back war we'll engage in. We both will one day be the champion, and I am sure that the boss knows that as well. We're just too damn good.. and the fact we are facing so early on, is going to do NEI a lot of good.
