And my cardio workout routine is on there too... Might wanna look into some weight loss supplements also. (Yuri still looks on wordlessly. Archie takes the paper that Kenrick is holding and looks it over. Fish, baked, skinless chicken, buffalo steak... and further down some 'prohibited' foods, McDonald's and other fast food places are listed on it. If not, i'll do it. I feel that more people deserve a chance at this, and more people in the tournament will equal a bigger prize at the end of it. Silvia needs to fight an equal hype opponent, it's vital for his progression, as a fighter. If Speed loses, it'll be Miller who has the chance to show what he's made of. Two due to inactivity (I won't risk an inactive tournament member) and one due to him showing no signs of making weight, for the past 3 weeks, again, I won't risk any NC's. My only concern is that some of the higher ranked guys have bouts scheduled for 4/5 days before this, so it may be incredibly short notice for them, but again, we'll see how it goes. Without further ado, I present V.F.C 8: Cemetary Gates. http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1318328009cg.jpg VFC 8 Cemetary Gates I’m Richie Ciapelli of MMA USof A and tonight folks we are at The Underground in New York City where I am reliably informed that VFC 8 Cemetary Gates was sold out 3 weeks ago, with tickets going on the black market for over $3,000. VFC fever is certainly taking hold, and this card is stacked with some of the biggest names signed to the VFC showcasing their talents tonight. We’ve got Speed, Miller, Sparks, Vincent, and many more top contenders. I’m here cage side, with 10 minutes before the first fight of the night, and just listen to the crowd just lovin Phil Collins’ I can feel it coming in the air tonight. Oh Lord this place is banging. Kimmi McRiddle has taken his seat, this guy really is the Heff of MMA, you have just got to love the hoes he brings. We have some high profile managers here too with John Boogie sat next to Shane Wellman, just what the former and now disgraced politician has in common with pikey Wellman is anyone’s guess. Mike Melton is here, and sat cage side we have the infamous Don King Jnr, who has a couple of his stable on tonight’s card. Anyway enough of the ‘trash’ talk, we have Hendayko here, Kopera, Morales, lots of hookers, and Fallon is sat with Hellman Province! Aren’t those two gonna fight each other, a jock and an Afghan being buddies, I’ve seen it all, we will have Nuns in suspenders next at the after party.... hell this is the VFC!!! OK fight fans, we open the proceedings with two undefeated lightweights. Hawkins is 2 and 0 with both wins by submission, he loves the ground game, he’s purple at BJJ and a superb wrestler, and he is well matched against Tzu who should test Hawkins ground skills to the full. This fight will take place on the ground as neither will offer much quality on their feet, but I fancy Hawkins to get the upper hand, but man Tzu is one ugly SOB. The winner: Hawkins wins this ground battle by submission. Next up, its the Derric ‘Shimmy’ Styles the big punching former amateur boxing star who will be looking for his 3rd stoppage win over the Finnisher Saarinen. Both these guys love to stand and bang (After Party Style) so these guys will be going for the KO of the night award. The key might be if the Finnish sensation, (who looks as Nordic as I do Afro Caribbean) gets this to the ground, where he is a remarkable wrestler, and he can dominate. Can he do it? Styles will surely be prepared to stuff takedowns and I take him to take the KO of the night award, and thus a step closer to a title shot. The Winner: Styles – KO The Speed, Miller clash will be one to watch, as Speed is very highly regarded and potentially a future VFC champion. Speed has already been lined up to fight Silvia at VFC 9 which means Miller despite his excellent record is a warm up fight for a division defining battle with Bigger Foot Silvia. I think Miller who edges the stand up, will take a beating once Speed gets this to the ground. Big fights await Speed, and I think Miller has a bright future but Speed is too much too soon and Millers O will go! The Winner: Speed – stoppage Ground and Pound. Youngblood has a lot to prove against VFC debutant and Nick Diaz lookalike Ahern, because many pundits had Chavez kicking Youngblood’s sorry ass in his last fight, but he still walked away with a unanimous points decision. Youngblood is managed by Mike Melton who runs the VFC Gym for yep the VFC, and so it’s easy to see why some observers allege this was a hometown decision. Melton is rumoured to arrange a lot more than just fighter training for VFC CEO Kimmi McRiddle. Youngblood is clearly a protected fighter, tonight he fights Ahern who’s manager was last seen in heated argument with McRiddle at VFC 1, and hasn’t been seen since. Something Melton could shed some light on me thinks, but in the dangerous world of the VFC who is gonna oppose the increasingly powerful McRiddle? Ahern has to get this to the ground and force a referee’s stoppage, which with his wrestling background he might achieve, but how conditioned is Ahern and with no one in his corner he faces a stern task. Youngblood will keep this standing and should be victorious, and hopefully get his first bona fide win in the VFC. The Winner: Youngblood - KO Next at 185lbs we have two well rounded fighters in ‘Al’ Capone and Cienglinho. Capone will start the favourite here, he is 5 years the elder and fairly well rounded. Capone is out on parole for armed robbery, and he has spent years training with the Muay Thai Arian Sisterhood in the state pen. Capone is solid in boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling, and he should be able to overpower the inexperienced 20 year old Cienglinho. However I’m backing Cienglinho to pull off an upset here, he has had a good camp, and he can shock the Italian American Sister with his BJJ, and walk out of the cage with a submission victory. The Winner: Cienglinho – submission Bunks vs Salampessy is at 185 and this should be a real war. Bunks has already avenged his only career loss in QFC at VFC 2 which shows real character, and this well rounded fighter will impress VFC bosses if he can overcome MT & BJJ practitioner Salampessy. In the stand up it’s the clean shaven Bunks who actually does look like an Arian sister against the Muay Thai skills of Salampessy. Either fighter could take this, the key will be conditioning and heart here, cos its a pick-em fight. The winner: No idea Sanni vs MyFace looks like a KO of the night award winner with undefeated knockout artist Sanni squaring off against MyFace who is also no mug with his fists and an accomplished boxer in his own right. Sanni has the edge and will want to keep this standing and get the KO and the cash. MyFace must hold his own in the stand up, and look for the take down where he can utilise his superior wrestling. Both these guys can bang, but Sanni is a bleeder so if MyFace can stay in there he can force a stoppage late on. This will be the fight of the night! The winner: Sanni – KO Yaroslev versus Koponen are huge and European pride will be at stake as here we have a Russian fighting a Fin. Both these guys are well over 6ft 6 and there will be over 500lb of lard in the cage. You would not want to be behind these guys in a queue at a buffet. The Russian Bear Yaroslev has his work cut out against the 25 year old Koponen a former strongman contestant. Koponen has the edge here in everything but wrestling and even then there isn’t much between them. Yaroslev is coming off a disappointing loss to a Muay Thai specialist and his only chance here is if the big Fin gasses early. The winner: Koponen – decision. At 205 we have two 20 year old debutants in Silver and Hurl. Hurl will want no part of a stand up fight, and fortunately for him Silver isn’t much better on his feet. It will be interesting to see if Don King Jnr fighter Silver uses his stand up advantage (albeit abysmal) to avoid testing Hurl’s BJJ Purple Belt. Silver probably has enough skills to earn a hard fought decision here, by keep it standing and having enough ground skill to avoid any Hurl submission attempts. The winner: Silver – decision The final fight tonight is the reason this place is packed, yes its Sparks and Vincent. Sparks is a bomber and a great boxer, but Vincent has come to MMA straight from winning the Golden Gloves heavyweight title, and he will not be afraid to mix it with the Don King Jnr fighter. How much confidence does Sparks really have in is power? Vincent sent Kopera packing with relative ease in his last fight, dropping the bigger overhyped no mark and then coolly dispatching his prey via submission. Don King Jnr’s man will not want to test Vincents BJJ blue belt against Sparks’ belt of the same colour so I see Don King having to back his mans power here and this is where I see the fight coming to an abrupt end. Sparks is gonna get knocked cold, Vincent is just too good and this fight has come too soon, and Vincent looks in fantastic shape. This really is the moment fight fans have been waiting for – yep a Don King Jnr fighter getting some whupp ass!! The winner: Vincent – blood curdling KO! Ok fight fans, that’s the low down, Tzu is about to make his way to the cage, VFC 8 is underway in the underground – let’s get it god damned on!
