Reporter 1- Drake we missed you at the post fight press conference thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts on the fight. Your eye looks pretty nasty any idea how long you may be out of commission? Drake- Yes let me start off by apologizing for not making the post fight press conference. My people on the doctor’s advice had thought it would be a good idea to skip the presser and go get checked out. I left around 9 am this morning. As far as the Eye goes. It looks a lot worse than it actually is. Report 2- Drake if you where in our shoes and had to write a headline for that fight what would it be comeback knockout of the year or robbery of the year? Drake- How bout just Knockout of the year? (Smiling) I had him right where I wanted him throughout the fight. Reporter2- (laughing) so your game plan was to get dominated the whole fight and pull it out with 2 seconds left? Drake- Well it just sounds bad when you say It. (smiling and chuckling) let’s just say the plan was to give him a false sense of security. Ahhh Ya we will go with that. Reporter 3- Is this the greatest accomplishment in your career? Drake- I think a bigger accomplishment was keeping Lebaron away from Mrs. Roberts throughout the lead up of the fight. Let’s just say she was rushed to an unknown location while I was training. Reporter3- Any advice for Lebaron? Drake- My High School Football coach used to tell us before a big game to stay away from the ladies. He used to say that they zap all the man juice out of ya. I think that advice would benefit Christian. Reporter1- Not sure if you had got to see any of the Post fight Press Conference but Christian went crazy and almost decapitated a young fan with a chair. Any thoughts. Drake- I would imagine he is mighty upset after the fight. He fought a good fight. Reporter2- He said it was a bad stoppage that he was not out care to comment? Drake- All I know is throughout the fight he had been glancing over at one of the Ring card girls. Smiling and so forth. Though out the fight I was trying to get the timing right. Then when he thought he had it wrapped up he winked at the girl and if I remember right blew her a kiss. That’s when I pounced. Trust me no one had a better view point then me he was out. Reporter 3- He’s asking for a rematch. And Brunno seems to be in favor of one but has insisted that you would have the final say. Do you see a rematch in the future? Drake- I’m getting up there in age. And really need to focus on putting myself into a situation that will put me in a good position to challenge for a title.Lebaron has dropped three in a row now. So I don’t see how a rematch helps my growth as a fighter. With that being said. If the fans want that rematch and the powers to be in the AFP. Want the rematch. I would not be opposed to taking that fight. Reporter 1- So do you accept the Christian’s challenge? Drake- SURE WHY NOT!!!! Jacksons persona is a rough as a bears ass Aussie, who is more accustomed to drinking fosters, having a barbie, a punch up, and swearing. He wasnt calling your guy out. You do role play, so I target anyone who does role play. As for you beat up picture, it is good and dont be put off if we cant +1 you. Regarding my guys beating yours, I doubt it. In Stathans fight, which I thought he would lose, it was a slider error by Gonzaitev really, as he went for a clinch war using knees with a fighter that bleeds, against a fighter with granite chin, elbows and slightly better wrestling. I doubt he would do that again. He may even comment on the forum. If they fought again I would still have doubts over Stathan winning. Guest Posted June 28, 2013 Report Share Posted June 28, 2013 AFP MONTHLY RECAP Herb – Welcome fight fans to AFP monthly recap it’s been along time since our last show so we promise to not disappoint. With me as always is fight guru trainer extraordinaire Brock Luger. Welcome back Brock. Brock- Herb it’s great to be back. And I never thought I would say this but. I missed ya Herbie. Herb- Right back at ya big guy. Brock tell the folks what we have in store tonight. Brock- Well Herbie. Tonight we have a lot of ground to cover we have two months worth of fights to go over. We have a big Championship fight that I will break down in Lugers Lucky Picks, and finally we have a new segment tonight where you the fans will have the chance to vote for your favorite AFP fighter. Herb- Well lets jump into it with our Knock out of the Night award winner from AFP 17 Carlos Murry Brock- Carlos Murry fought one hell of a fight. Hell Hugo Lewis fought a great fight as well. And out of these two I would have expected nothing less. A very entertaining fight that went back and forth. I had Murry winning round one with Hugo taking the second round. But in the end Carlos was able to sneak a brutal uppercut that had Hugo on rubber legs. The wrong place you want to be with a fighter like Murry. He was able to finish the job and pick up his first knockout of the night award. Herb- our submission of the night at AFP 17 goes to Dominic “SCARY” Sterrey. Brock- This kid Dominic is exactly what his nickname says he is Scary. Only 20 years old Dominic holds a 3-0 record. All his wins have come by Submission with the latest earning him Submission of the Night. Benny was losing in the first round and for some reason decided to open the second round with a takedown. Not a good game plan against a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple belt. By the time Sterrey’s back hit the mat he was working on his first submission attempt that was defend well by Drake. Dominic quickly realized that his triangle choke was not going to happen and like that he switched it up to a guillotine choke TO SECURE THE WIN. I look for big things from Dominic in the Welter weight Division. Herb- the Fight of the Night just so happened to be AFP Monthly Recap’s friend Fred Baggins first title defense since winning the Heavy weight Tournament. Brock- Yes unfortunately it did not go as Fred had planned. Losing all five rounds to a very game Terrell Bentley. I personally gave round three to Baggins but the judges saw things differently. Bentley came into this fight with a game plan that he executed perfectly. He just seemed to be one step ahead of Baggins the whole fight, and was able to dictate where the fight took place. At 19 years old Bentley has achieved something that fighters have worked their whole lives for a championship Belt with the AFP. Herb- Not just any belt the Heavyweight Championship Belt. Brock- Let’s move on to AFP 18 Scorched Earth. Herb- I was at Hayashi’s Lounge for this one Brock . Brock- And? Herb- Awesome. Two belts on the line. Great atmosphere. It was great. Brock- Glad you had a good time Herb Drake Roberts seemed to pull off the impossible with his Knockout of the Night against Christian LeBaron. Herb- HAW HAW HAW Brock- It’s great to be back. But back to business. Drake was dominated the whole fight. I mean it wasn’t even close. Honestly I’m surprised that the ref did not step in to save Roberts a couple times earlier in the fight. But the first thing I teach my fighters is you keep your hands up and fight till the bell rings. Christian may not have ever been told this but he learned the hard way as Roberts was able to land and capitalize to pull out the controversial decision with only two seconds remaining in the fight. You have to give it up to Roberts though he overcame adversity and pulled it out. Great Heart! Brock- Calvin Tate took home Submission of the Night Honors with his 1st round Triangle Choke against Vaughn Donovan. Donovan was the heavy favorite coming into this fight but like we have seen so many times before. In the AFP No one can be taken lightly. The smallest mental lapse and bam you’re sleeping. Calvin Took advantage of a mistake and walks home a little richer for his efforts. Herb- The fight of the night went to Niacisse Kenmoghn and Lone wolf. I have to tell ya Brock. This may have been one of the best fights I have ever seen Brock- Yes Your classic matchup of Striker vs. grappler. Nine times out of ten the grappler wins but Lone Wolf is a very unique fighter. As I watched this fight it was obvious that both men were on top of their game. It felt like the fighters won alternating rounds throughout the fight. Which always keeps the fans in attendance glued to the Action. In the End Lone Wolf was able to pull it out. I expect to see these two squaring off again sooner rather than later though. Herb- Brock so before our break I have to say you where struggling quite a bit with Lugers Lucky Picks. I mean at one point the studio was receiving death threats. And for that very reason we have decided to ease you back into this segment by only picking one winner of this month’s fight. It just so happens to be the main event and the winner is crowned our Light weight Champion but hey no pressure. Brock- (looking like he is going to be sick) Lugers Lucky Picks Tarik Johnson vs. Hector “El Martillo”Ramirez Brock- What a great match up. Both men have proven without a shadow of a doubt they are the cream of the crop in the lightweight division. With Johnson you have a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown belt who is riding a 4 fight win streak with his last victory coming at the expense of Nicodemo Romero by rear naked choke. This guys is always a threat to pull off a submission. While at the same time has shown in the past that he can also trade leather which was showcased in his victory against Daniel Pope at AFP13 Where he convincingly won via TKO. However he may be steeping into the cage with his greatest challenge yet in Hector Ramirez. A complete fighter with a strong wrestling background lately it has been his hands that have proven to be his most dangerous weapon having knockout out his last three opponents. The cousin of famed Mexican Fighter JD Almanez Hector comes from a family that just has fighting in their blood. At the end of the day I expect Hector to keep this one standing. And will rightfully become AFP’S first Lightweight Champion. Herb- My turn yet? Brock ya let’s do it. Folks we have a new segment for ya tonight.
