Dude thankyou. And who are you saying is an idiot?

She said americans have dogs just not as a pet. Stupid woman

There are lots of working dogs for hunting/herding/service dogs etc..., but dogs as pets far outnumber them. I have two mutts, they are both lame but I like them.

The stereotypical American family is a white picket fence, 2.3 kids and a dog. I can't think of anything more American than keeping a dog as a pet. Next thing you know, she'll be telling you that the Japanese don't like karaoke or rape porn.

This was my exact arguement. I asked her this morning and she played it off saying she was drunk

I used to live in Korea and now live in China. Barely anyone in either of these countries eats dog meat. It is actually illegal in Korea due to most dog farms using very inhumane slaughter practices, but some old people eat it as a delicacy. It is legal in China, but not really all that common. It really isn't a very good tasting meat, so it has dropped in popularity as China's wealth has grown and people have been able to afford better sources of protein. Having dogs as pets in far, far more popular than eating them in both of these countries.

Personally, I have no problem with people eating dog as long as the animals are treated properly. What makes a dog any less ethical to eat than a pig, a cow, a deer, or a chicken?
