PBR
Just a few hours after his previous employer announced his unconditional release, Eddie Alvarez already has a new gig lined up -- and it might sound just a little bit familiar. The UFC announced on Tuesday that Alvarez will square off with Donald Cerrone in the UFC 178 co-main event on Sept. 27. Sherdog.com first reported on July 30 that Cerrone-Alvarez was in the works for that card. However, last week the promotion announced that Cerrone would face Bobby Green, not Alvarez, at UFC 178. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Eddie-Alvarez-to-Make-UFC-Debut-Against-Donald-Cerrone-in-UFC-178-CoHeadliner-72105 http://www.ufc.com/news/Eddie-Alvarez-UFC-Fighter
Shards
Oh my god yes. This fight, this whole card. So much yes. If I'm not here Sept 28th it's because this level of awesome caused spontaneous combustion. P.S. Eddie has been one of my favorite fighters for a while I can't wait for him to finally get out there.
Guest
That could be interesting, I don't know a lot about Alvarez, but he looks like a good challenge. It just sucks that he leaves Bellator while being champ.
Jacman
Damn this card is pretty stacked I'm just bracing myself for the news that Cruz got injured again. Bellator has a lot of guys that I would really like to see in the UFC. Guys like Michael Chandler, Pat Curran, Douglas Lima, Eduardo Dantas, and some other guys would be great to see. Dee
Niiice, gonna be a fun fight I believe. Hard to predict anything IMO but if Cerrone gets his game going standing it's hard to see Alvarez pulling the W.
catako
I am curious to see Eddie Alvarez, I didn't see any of his fights, but his record looks very good, and I know Cerrone will push him to max so it will be an very interesting fight. Sassano
Good card, just wish the Main Event was a bit more appealing. None the less, looks set to be a good night of fighting! Backing the Cowboy in this one, although it will be entertaining for sure!
Ramirez
wow, if this card still had Jones vs Cormier it would be the most stacked card in my memory....
Shards
Good card, just wish the Main Event was a bit more appealing. I have to disagree with you, I have high hopes it'll be a good technical 5 round war.

Erik
UFC 136 say no more There was literally one interesting high level fight on that card. Everyone with a brain knew Florian wasn't on the same level as Aldo. 1

Guest
Just rewatched Eddie/Chandler 1 myself. So good. Shame he's fighting Cerrone, I think he's too hittable still and if he gets dropped against Cerrone he's getting finished.
Mentor
Cerrone by strikes

Sucks cuz I love Alvarez, but I`m a big Cerrone fan and I think you`re right. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Shards
I think Cerrone will win this somehow ... he is on a streak nowadays I want Eddie to get the win, been a fan of his for a while but to be realistic he still gets rocked in every fight, I know it's usually played up as no big deal but I really think it's the biggest hole in his game right now and a guy like Cerrone would be the guy to put him down for it. Eddie still hits like a champ so I'd put the odds near even, maybe a bit in Cerrone's favor but none the less I expect a great fight and I really hope Eddie can pull this one off. ClarkKent
I like Eddie, but Cerrone just always seems to find a way to win.
Paradigm
I'll be watching this live in Vegas. Huge Cowboy fan here and it's gonna be a great fight. Bummed I won't get to see JBJ vs Cormier I'll (hopefully) get to see Conor fight in person!
