Akeen Coker (243512)

Tomorrow night is easily the biggest challenge of my very young career!! I look forward to the chance to test myself against an older fighter who is managed by one of the top 10 managers in the game today. However with all that said I show no fear, I feel no hesitation and tomorrow night Helix Cabrera you will experience it first hand! Even though I know this will be a huge test I also know it is one that I can overcome and come out the victor. I hope you bring your "A" game to the cage tomorrow night, because you will certainly need it!

That is certainly one of the many fights today that I'll be watching closely :)

Shin Dong Hyuk

12-3-0

679 p4p

Shin Dong Hyuk has been looking all the time like a top prospect since going pro. He has been dominating Hilo Fight League for about a year. The only man that can say that he was the better fighter in that division is Lill Wayne, but he is 3 years older. The only losses in Shin's career have come by way of decision, as he is one hell of a tough guy to finish. He will now move up in weight to take on the ultratough 155lbs division at NYFN . Managed by one of the elite managers in the game, Mr. Gutz, Shin Dong Hyuk has everything going for him. Combine his young age, amazing skils, granite chin and an elite manager behind him and you know that you have a winning combination. This guys has absolutely everything to become one of the main attractions of NYFN.

Ben "The Question" Henley (222382)

Well, i guess i got a bit overconfident with my new toys and got completely outclassed. Congrats to Tor Troeng for stepping into the cage with me. I thought i could fight fire with fire, but i guess as much as my striking had improved, it just wasn't ready for a striker of your calibre.

I guess The Question now is how will i decide to beat Helix Cabrera? Will i stick with what i know or should i continue to show off my new toys?

NYFN 38 : Ganger vs Vercotti preview

Main event:

155 lbs Kolt Ganger (9-4) Vs Luigi Vercotti (12-3)

While the division is stacked and is still improving its depth and talent, Kolt and Luigi continue to stand out among their peers, which is why these two lightweights will square off in the NYFN 38 headliner. These lightweights have met once before at NYFN 20, back then Kolt won by split decision. It was a great stand-up brawl but it was the takedowns of Kolt that made the difference and gave him the split decision victory. This will be a great rematch with the lightweight title on the line.

Kolt won the title in january when he beat Quentin DeBramalo in their rematch. Kolt put the pedal to the metal when he simply outworked the gold medal kid. Kolt may be the champion but he has never successfully defended the belt and is coming off the first submission loss in his career, which he suffered in his 145 debut at Troid 72. So the pressure is on for Kolt as he will look to rebound from a devastating loss and make sure that everybody knows that he is still the champion. If Colt wants to win he should probably want to strike with the intention of taking his opponent down to the ground, Kolt is far from a one-dimensional wrestler, making it difficult to pick against him based on his previous effort against Luigi.

Luigi came into NYFN with a 9-2 record and was looking to impress in his debut, unfortunately he wasn't able to make an impact as he suffered a split decision loss. Now Luigi's career is back on track, riding a three fight winning streak, he will have the opportunity to avenge that loss and win the 155 title at the same time. If that doesn't motivate him to perform to the best of his abilities then nothing will. Luigi is a well rounded martial artist who can take care of himself no matter where the fight takes place but to win this rematch he would be wise to take control of where the fight takes place.

Co-main event:

185 lbs Alexander Puhovin (9-3) Vs Harold Stone (11-3)

Alexander made his promotional debut last month and made quick work of wrestling standout Distor Centura, as he managed to make him tap out in less than two minutes. Alexander is a talented grappler with 8 submission victories on his record. Once he gets the fight to the ground, Alexander's cool, methodical approach really shines. Alexander is a wizard on the ground and one of the very best grapplers in the division. He's already ranked at the top of the division, so another victory could be enough to give him a shot at the title. He'll need to be careful of Harold's strikes and take this fight to ground to be victorious.

Harold is a sprawl and brawl fighter, he won't be taken down easily but he'll need to be careful in choosing his strikes or he might be on his back before he knows it. Harold comes from a big knockout win against fellow brawler Harland Sanders. A win against Alexander Puhovin should be enough to put him into the top of the division. To do that he should look to keep this fight standing. Alexander's three losses all came by knockout and Harold has what it takes to put Alexander's lights out, but if he's not able to stop those takedowns he'll be put to sleep before he can even think about getting back on his feet.

205 lbs Cedric Murphy (16-5-1) Vs Adolfo Constanzo (4-0)

Both guys will be making their promotional debut, as veteran Cedric Murphy takes on the top prospect Adolfo Constanzo. They may both be 25 years old and be making their promotional debut but these two took very different paths to getting here. While Cedric was getting hands-on-experience in the cage, Adolfo took his sweet time learning the basics in the gym before finally becoming a full-time fighter. Both guys are known for their excellent striking skills, so expect fireworks as these two bulls collide in their promotional debut. Cedric is the veteran so he should let his experience show in this fight to walk away victorious. Cedric needs to control where this fight takes place, be careful of his opponent's powerful strikes and do some damage of his own. Adolfo needs to rely on the tools that gave him his current four fight winning streak, he should want to keep mixing up his strikes and look for the knockout.

170 lbs Jon Snow (5-1) Vs Max Cardamom (4-3)

Twenty year old prospect Jon Snow stormed to scene when he won the 170 tournament, putting the 170 division back on the map in NYFN. His rise to the top was momentarily halted when he crashed and burned against Liam Kelly. The well rounded Jon Snow rebounded perfectly when he viciously knocked out talented grappler Markov Petrenko. Jon has the tools to take the fight wherever he wants and finish it there. Max Cardamom may be seven years older than Jon but he still hasn't reached his prime. Max might not have had much hype coming into this promotion, sporting a mediocre 2-3 record, he finally came to his own in NYFN. He won his promotional debut with an arm triangle choke in a mere 50 seconds against now retired striker Trippin Daisy. Max then displayed his striking skills when he finished boxing practitioner Igor Alexis. Max is an example of the new generation mixed martial artists. His game shows both the strengths and flaws of a lack of background in other combat sports. He can switch from striking to grappling and can do a bit of everything, but he lacks depth in any of his skill sets. Both 170 pounders are definitely able to finish the fight wherever it goes, so this fight could go anywhere. Both guys have the ability to finish the fight in just a few seconds wherever the fight is taking place, so don't blink or you might miss the finish.

185 lbs Luka Janko (6-1) Vs Sylvester Malone (3-1)

While not exactly oozing with name value, this is an excellent matchup. Luka has flown under the radar, but he has won six of the seven matches in his young career, including a victory over current Hypnotic title contender Connor McGuinness. All round mixed martial artist Luka Janko came back perfectly from the first loss of his career when he submitted John Dux in the first round. Sylvester didn't exactly shine in his promotional debut when he barely managed to outwork Sebasti Perreira De Souza, but it got the job done. Sylvester is known as boxer and a wrestler but so far that's all he needed to be. Sylvester doesn't mind going the distance, he likes to take his time and rarely makes a mistake. Expect Luka to look for the finish at all times while Sylvester will be blocking his opponent's offense, looking to grind his opponent out and let the judges decide the victor.

185 lbs Tumbu Bukasa (7-4) Vs Kurt Lockheart (9-9)

Talented muay thai practitioner Tumbu didn't take his time when he stormed into the MMA scene, going 7-2 and finishing six of his seven wins until he hit a rough patch in 2015. He may have lost two fights in a row but he's ready to get back on the horse and start winning again. He will be looking to put his muay thai skills to use and finish his opponent as fast as possible. Kurt Lockheart is a grappler who used to do anything to put his opponent to sleep, unfortunately he hasn't looked so good in months so he'll need to get back in prime shape if he wants to emerge victorious. This will be a classic striker Vs grappler matchup as Tumbu will be looking to finish his opponent with vicious kicks, elbows and knees, while Kurt will be looking to take this fight to floor and put Tumbu to sleep with his excellent submission game. If Kurt gets in on Tumbu's hips, he could control the Congo native on the ground and finish this early, but he'll need to dodge Tumbu's lethal kicks to do so.

205 lbs Hammer Fist (1-3) Vs Viktor Nova (2-2)

Hammer faces a tough challenge in Viktor Nova. Hammer is a scrappy grappler who'll look to put his opponent to the fence or on his back. Hammer will look to snap his current two fight winning streak but he'll need to go for broke if he wants to do that. Hammer has looked lost in his past two fights, he'll need to step it up if he wants to have a shot at winning this fight. Hammer has some takedowns both from the clinch and on shots, and from top position he shows some decent ground striking and great posture. Viktor Nova is a proud Russian with an extensive background in wrestling, some decent boxing skills and a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Victor came up just short of winning against Algot Von Panzerhosen but made a good impression despite losing a very close split decision. Viktor will be looking to get back in the win column while Hammer will be looking for a much needed victory at all costs to keep his career alive.

205 lbs Rhys Drew (2-2) Vs Julius Hallava (3-3)

Rhys should be excited for this fight after his impressive 12 second KO against Ivan Locke, but even though his future in MMA looks bright, his personal life is a bit of a mess. He kind of stumbled into some financial trouble, they should be cleared after this fight but the lack of clean clothes and training in a gym could severely handicap him in this fight. Rhys may not be a one-trick pony, but he's primarily a boxer with some power in his hands. Julius is a brawler, a kickboxer who likes to keep his distance. Julius is not exactly a world-beater but he's riding a two fight winning streak so he has some momentum going into this fight. Rhys will still have a puncher's chance but there's no doubt that he'll be the underdog.

170 lbs Markov Petrenko (3-3) Vs Igor Alexis (3-1)

These two Russian will be looking to make a comeback as experienced grappler Markov Petrenko takes on the powerful boxer and decent grappler Igor Alexis. Markov has already experienced both ends of the spectrum as he started his career with a three fight winning streak and is looking to rebound from his current three fight losing streak. Igor Alexis is no stranger to three fight winning streaks, unfortunately his got stopped by Max Cardamom in under a minute at NYFN 33. Both Russians need to get their career back on track and will be under a lot of mental pressure. Only one person will be able to escape from their current rough patch while the other will need to find another way to escape this dangerous mental situation.

205 lbs Ivan Locke (1-4) Vs Degen Gambloor (0-1)

These two fighters may be at the bottom of the division but they're both ready to crawl up to higher grounds. Ivan Locke may have won the very first time when he outwrestled Purple Haze, but he still has a long way to go if he wants to fight for a living. Hopefully Ivan gained some experience from his losses and can show it when he faces the talented prospect Degen Gambloor. Degen might have looked like a complete amateur in his MMA debut, but don't let appearances fool you, this guy has some serious talent. He's muay thai specialist with a lot to prove and he should look to do just that in this fight. Ivan should look to take this fight to ground or risk getting outclassed by a clearly superior striker while Degen should try to avoid Ivan's takedowns while doing some damage with his dangerous strikes.

Cedric Murphy wanted to make it clear he is not impressed or pleased with Adolfo Constanzo and his wimpy 4 fights of experience. This pocket project has taken almost 2 real-world years off from fighting to solely train in his private gym. While Cedric was sparring in the dank gyms of Amsterdam and fighting top 10 ranked KT fighters in bloody combat, this puss was sitting in the Sauna sipping energy drinks. I know this difference in paths makes Cedric an underdog on paper, but I hope Murphy shames the shit out of Constanzo and makes that 2 years of private pampered training wasted.

"Mamma Mia!" Luigi Vercotti (224831)

Nice write up. I was robbed last time out, everyone knows it. 2 takedowns and 4 strikes on the ground doesnt make up for the beating I put on him in the stand up. Anyone who gets off on bs would love to take a look at this. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=707032.

This time I intend to thoroughly humiliate him.

Kolt Ganger

I suppose since you don't really have the skill set to hang with me that talking will be your only viable option for fans to take you serious. Hyping this fight is a joke since it'll be over no sooner then it starts. I demand a real opponent once this execution is over.

Sincerely,
The Champ

Kolt Ganger

No, but I do carry a list of guys names that have fallen victim to me. Your name happens to be on that list. Sadly you engaged this conversation with a list of excuses as to why I beat you up the first time around. So lets just agree to disagree that you are already preplanning the excuses for your next beat down..

P.S your entire resume is against bums with the exception of me. So lets not kid your self on the quality of opponents you have faced throughout your career in comparision to me.

"Mamma Mia!" Luigi Vercotti (224831)

Not an excuse, just pointing out the glaringly obvious fact that I dominated you and then got my pocket picked by the judges. Everyone knows it and I suspect that deep down in your heart you know it too. I consider it more of a blemish on your career than mine that you were gifted a win in such a fashion. All blemishes can be corrected though, as this one will be on Saturday after I make it clear who the better fighter is.

NYFN proudly presents to you the Tycoon MMA championships' 185lbs gold medal winner!

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14106197235119.jpg

Rockmeteller "Rocky" Todd

Not only did he win the gold medal and crowned himself the Tycoon MMA champions champ, but he did it in great style.

In the first round he landed a huge uppercut to put the lights out of his opponent early in the 2nd round. The win secured him a spot in the semi-finals. It was a great fight with Todd dictating the pace and winning the first two rounds before landing a huge right hand from hell to book him a place in the final. His 3rd and final fight in the tournament was a great one once again. On paper, it was his world class boxing vs his opponent's world class muay thai. In reality, it was pure domination by Todd and after winning the first 4 rounds , he landed a huge punch that rocked his opponent for the second time. He followed it up with a hook and that was all she wrote. He showed that he became stronger and stronger during the tournament and the final was just amazing!

Many congratulations from the NYFN team ! We are so damn proud! :)

NYFN proudly presents to you the Tycoon MMA championships' 265lbs gold medal winner!

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14075928891423.jpg

"Alex" Aleksey Zulughanov

Zulughanov proved once more that he is one hell of a fighter. Step into the cage with him and you are in for a great fight.

In the first round of the tournament, Aleksey gave his opponent a masterclass in clinchwork and landed a brutal uppercut at the end of the first round to qualify himself for the semi-finals. He had a smart gameplan and decided to completely outscore his opponent and advanced to the final with ease.

The final was an eagerly anticipated fight with him facing Castor's fighter Turnbull. We all knew that this was going to be an epic fight. Zulughanov's striking was just better than his opponent's and after 4 minutes, he knocked Turnbull down with a stunning head kick. Props for his opponent as he somehow was able to stand up again , but he got knocked out completely seconds later by a monster hook. His performances were briliant and he is eager to get back to NYFN and become the star of the organisation.

Many congratulations from the NYFN team ! I'm beyond happy with the results :)

Harold "Hazel Hal" Stone (229296)

Congrats to my opponent Alexander Puhovin for being able to take me down. We both had a game plan... Yours was to take me down and mine was to knock you out before you could do it.

You got yours in first. I am disappointed in how easily i was taken down. But hey, no excuses. The better man won. I guess it's back to the gym for me!
