Corey Parker

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141203030308usfceaglelowgloss.png

Congratulations to Corey Parker on becoming the new USFC Heavyweight Champion, and the first American to hold the 265lbs belt! It was an exciting night of fights as the judges had the night off after the opening bout with seven fights ending by way of knockout, as well as two by submission. Willie Jone and Jeff Marks take home the FOTN as both men let it all hang out before Jone set up the TKO with a big left. The KO OTN award was closely contested as both Corey Terror and Lethal Larry landed vicious left hooks to knock their opponents out cold! Terror gets the slight nod with the spinning back fist, fake to the body to set it up and his opponent falling face first into the canvas added to the spectacular finish. Marcin Elsner looked dominant in his submission victory, and L Manning Vines gets the Sub OTN with a second round arm triangle. If you like action, USFC 9 delivered with nine great finishes!

The United States Fighting Championship celebrates a landmark event as, in association with Four Aces Nutrition, the organisation puts on its’ 10th MMA Showcase.

To celebrate the occasion, the USFC is putting on two title matches. Welterweight champion “The Biblical” Jules Winnfield will hope to show his power off once again against the globe trotting Jason “The Crystal Lake Killer” Voorheez while an inaugural Lightweight champion will be crowned when Santi “The Matador” Santoro and Bible Basher collide.

Also being advertised is a much-anticipated fight between two undefeated phenoms who both know that one will walk away with a permanent blemish on their perfect record.

Few fighters have the moxy to come back from six successive defeats and compete in the harsh world of MMA but Stevie McGordon (1-6-0) is now looking to progress with his career after picking up his first victory at USFC 7. His opponent Achmed “The Dead” Terrorist (3-0-0) has never faced such adversity but then he also has an unblemished record. Only time will tell if beating early adversity can triumph over natural talent.

It will be a momentous day for young Joachim Wieceslaw (0-0-0) as he competes in his very first MMA fight. The German is known for his achievements as a youth in kickboxing so expect him to want to keep the fight standing. Across the cage from him will be the scrappy kid from Chicago Emery Devlin (1-1-0) who will be looking to ruin the debutants day and show that he is the future at 170.

The ability to secure numerous decision victories shows a level of desire that goes beyond pure talent. Between them Dalton Pease (2-0-0) and “President” Jax Teller (4-0-0) have seen the final bell in every fight and still had their arm raised on every occasion. Something must give as these two grinders face off in a fight where a finish is improbable but heart and passion will be plentiful.

Two stand up artists in the Heavyweight division debut in the next contest as “Terrible” Travis Overeem (3-1-0) and Villak “Vig” Martinson (1-0-0) go one on one. “Vig” appears to be the more explosive of the two men and should have the superior punching power. However Overeem has shown his durability in previous contests, so will be hoping to drag Martinson into the deep end to see how his stamina holds up in the later rounds.

Sometimes a fight can look lacklustre when observed from afar. This could be said for the clash between Vince Andrews (2-1-0) and Walter Jeremiah (2-1-0) however this could end up as a real contender for Fight of the Night. Andrews was involved in the one of the great highlights of USFC history when he defeated Sly Stallone with seconds to go before the end of the round while Jeremiah fought in the first ever main card slot at USFC 1.

Both men want to be more than great moments in USFC history. This fight might well start either man down that road.

The main card opens up with what promises to be a great back and forth battle between two exciting featherweights, Grant “The Sensational” Knight (1-0-0) is a dynamo who likes to constantly pressure his opponents into retreat while Subotai “The Thief” Hyrkanian (2-0-0) is a more strategic fighter who can be crushing when an opportunity opens up. Both men know that a win will take them into championship contention so this will be intense.

Striker verses grappler was the spectacle that brought fans to the sport of MMA so it is rather poetic that the inaugural USFC Lightweight Championship is such a match up.

Santi “The Matador” Santoro (3-2-0) is on the leading edge of European fighters who are showing that they can wrestle as well as the rest of the world. Blessed with powerful takedowns, he has the ability to smother an opponent until they give up an arm or a neck that leads to victory. Standing opposite him will be Bible Basher (2-0-0), a kicking specialist that has landed over 100 kicks a fight average in his MMA career. These devastating kicks could neutralise Santoro’s explosiveness but a mistimed one could leave Basher open to a hard one way visit to the canvas. The winner will be the fighter who executes his game plan best.

Few Nicknames suit a fighter as well as “El Tigre” does Edu Alvarez (3-1-0). This Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt prowls around the cage waiting to pounce until he finally delivers a swift kill. It is the job of Maxim “General Winter” Taisumov (4-3-0) to deal with the threat of “El Tigre”. Of course one big punch can turn a tiger into a pussy cat.

Somebody is going to suffer their first loss in the co-main event when George West Jr (5-0-0) exchanges bruises with Bo Sherk (4-0-0). West Jr will look to pepper Sherk from the outside with well timed counters while Sherk will work his way into grappling distance to try and drag the fight into his domain. Both fighters have been exceptionally successful in their preferred tactics so far in their career so calling a winner at this time will only be for the foolhardy.

And now the main event of the evening! The USFC proudly presents the Welterweight title fight between the champion “The Biblical” Jules Winnfield (5-1-0) and the number one contender Jason “The Crystal Lake Killer” Voorheez (10-3-0).

This fight looks like it will inevitably end up in the clinch as both men have prospered in that position throughout their careers. Once that position is established then all bets are off as it should develop into a fascinating chess match as the dirty boxer Winnfield tries to impose his style on Muay Thai clinch specialist Voorheez.

To add additional intrigue, this is a clash of American MMA and international specialists. Jules Winnfield has never left the bosom of the US multifaceted training techniques while Jason Voorheez has travelled the world and worked with masters from all corners. These additional concerns won’t enter the minds of the fighters for a moment but many people are likely to put undue emphasis on the result.

Grant "The Sensational" Knight (1-0)

Tonight's Weigh-In was very intense!!! Grant Knight approached Subotai Hyrkanian and started screaming into his face during the faceoff!!! Hyrkanian got hyped and angry, only the arm of the USFC president stopped him from attacking Grant. He yelled - "You'll be sorry for this shit, bitch", while Grant turned into the audience and started banging his chest like King Kong. The shit was crazy, the audience went wild!!!!

It looks like Johnny Justice has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Justice has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Price tries to clinch but Justice is having none of it.
Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Price chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Price lands a head kick. Justice smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Price throws the kick towards the body but Justice avoids it.
Price lands with a cross.

Justice is rocked!
http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/knockdown2.gif
Price cracks Justice with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Justice looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Price finish him?
Oh Justice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A nice inside leg kick there by Price. That's going to slow Justice down.
Price knocks out Justice with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Price before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Price picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ozzie Price!
Ozzie Price thanked the fans post fight for their support.

Subotai Hyrkanian - Great fight Grant Knight, you got some powerful hands there but your chin is not as good as your trashtalk.

Yea man, all respect to you :) Great fight, you rocked me and capitalized on it, I rocked you and I didn't.

Grant's manager - Grant is a very fast learner, but the fact is that he tends to cut, he has low confidence when he loses and his chin js questionable. The loss really took me deep emotionally :D I was waiting for the fight until 2am, Grant was winning it, and then I got TKO'ed and went rage mode lol :D

Thank you David for letting me test myself once more. I learned that altough I easily won, I still have enough things to learn before I can face top opponents. I wanted a finish and I wasn't able to get it against that tough SOB. Hat of to Overeem . He gave me a harder time than I had expected. I won 27-30 , but that's not important to me. I'm a warrior who is always looking to finish fights and not let it go to a decision.

Maybe I'll come back later once for a fight after my training camp. I'll train hard and see what is the best next step for me in my career.
