Jacman
Was gonna change my pick to Cornier but after the weigh ins I'm not so sure anymore. Tough matchup to pick. JLP
Daniel Cormier vs Anthony Johnson (the weigh in debacle made me question this, but rumble only has about a 6 minute tank) Chris Weidman vs Gegard Mousasi (prime Weidman has no problem with Mousasi, but i think weidman is far from prime. neck injuries are the worst for athletes) Cynthia Calvillo vs Pearl Gonzalez Thiago Alves vs Patrick Cote Will Brooks vs Charles Oliveira Myles Jury vs Mike De La Torre Kamaru Usman vs Sean Strickland Shane Burgos vs Charles Rosa Patrick Cummins vs Jan Blachowicz (i hate cummins) Josh Emmett vs Desmond Green Gregor Gillespie vs Andrew Holbrook Katlyn Chookagian vs Irene Aldana Jenel Lausa vs Magomed Bibulatov

kenlow73
This is the first card in a while where somebody didn't get pulled between when I posted the thread and the day of the fights. They did move the Emmett/Green fight from the Prelims to the Early Prelims. Jacman
I feel like Rumble wanted to do what Bone's did and outwrestle DC, if that's the case all I can say is You're not Jon Jones man stick to what you do best.

Rambo
rumble quits. weird fucking night Yeah. Weidman was milking the "illegal knee" like most fighters do. Told the doctors can't see, I'm really hurt, so he can buy the time and stall or maybe even try to win via DQ... Weidman magically got better, and intelligently the right thing to do, when he realized he couldn't milk the clock any more because of the mass confusion. I'm gonna guess that he really was just stalling to recover energy. Mousasi is the man though, his corner was acting all giddy and wouldn't listen to him. they should of stayed the fuck out the way and not celebrate that shit. I think Mousasi would of won eventually, and I feel bad for him, and Weidman too. personally think the rule should be eliminated. only time a knee to head should be illegal is if you are on the ground or your knees are on the ground. not your hands. that's just stupid. I feel like Rumble wanted to do what Bone's did and outwrestle DC, if that's the case all I can say is You're not Jon Jones man stick to what you do best. I think Rumble got a little tired, and I also think Rumble thought, hey if I get DC on his back I can unload on him. He's so round and tubby, surely he must be like a turtle on his back... and then he gassed. If only Rumble had Patrick Cote's heart and tenacity.. Mentor
Not sure why the bookies had Rumble being the favorite, it was basically a copy of the previous fight. As for the Mousasi fight, it was a circus. First of all the ref made a mistake, but that was not the problem in my books because this was not the first time, it took us multiple looks in reply to identify that mistake. The biggest issue i see here is that as far as i know, this was the first time in history (that i remember), where the replay was taken into consideration. As far as i understand, the ref is not allowed to look at the replay and take back his decision (during the recovery period, Dan said the "knee was legal, you need to continue"). What difference does it make if the replay showed the ref was wrong? He made a decision based upon what he thought at the moment, so why was Joe Rogan going nuts about "the fight needs to continue, the knee was legal!", so what if it was legal? This is not the first time we saw the ref stop a fight when there was a legal kick (possibly to the groin) or an eye poke which was not an eye poke. They should of simply given Weidman time to recover (since he had already declared the blow as being illegal) and let the fight continue. I have no idea why the medical team stopped the fight, he was clearly recovering by that point and he still had time anyway. Maybe the UFC should give refs the option to look at the replay if they are in doubt, but that could slow down the pace of fights and i am not certain that will be a good idea, just let refs decide, wrong decisions are part of the fight game anyway. Timqwe
Weidman got asked what month it was. He answered with February. Regardless of the end result, that fight needed to be stopped.
MasterLeader
Weidman deserved the karma for his actions and just to let you guys know I can't stand Mousasi but was feeling for him up until the moment they announced the fight in his favour. So i guess the medical staff did the right thing then. This is also the second fight in the row that Weidman got KOed via knees to the head, not the best thing to have on your resume. I was never a big Weidman fan, i felt he took advantage of beating a bunch of fading Brazilian's, but i hope the guy gets back on his feet and makes a comeback, he is a MMA purist and seems to be a good guy as well. I hope Weidman takes a bit of time of, dude has been (t)ko'd 4 times in 3 fights, plus has had a lot of heavy injuries. Take half a year of, work on his boxing a bit, especially his striking under pressure.
