I gave Conor 4 rounds (1-3, 8) but Floyd was obviously coasting.

thats way more than anyone else was giving him -- i gave him first 2 -- 3rd was close little bit but i thought floyd won it cause pushing the fight and landed cleaner shots -- will say i was surprised floyd just walked him down like that i really didnt think he would but he had a purpose behind doing it also

Same here, it's true that Floyd let McGregor take the lead as part of his strategy but that doesn't take away that McGregor was the agressor in those rounds while Floyd didn't really do anything in the beginning.

My prediction is a lot of them staring at each other. Lots of lunging goofy looking haymakers from mcgregor that hit nothing. McGregor will also try and clinch up too and dirtybox. The fight will look fairly competitive for the first 4-5 rounds as mayweather gets his range and waits for mcgregor to get tired. The last half of the fight will be mayweather piecing him up. I dont see a KO, but I can see the ref stepping in the last 3 rounds.

McGregor was badly outboxed by Diaz, I cant see him doing much here at all other than a flukey punch.

Excellent call.

floyd on espn saying he will make around 350 million, says was over 80 mill ppv buys -- just crazy man, has made over 1 billion -- also he placed a 400k cash bet that he would finish conor within 9 1/2 rounds at -200 odds but the casino wouldnt take the bet only a straight up win not the odds on finish

also listening to chael on espn makes me wonder how much dana paid him to talk up conor some -- lmao -- he saying conor was dominating the fight until getting finished and all kinds of other crazy ass shit

edited: also not to mention conor's illegal hammerfist to the back of the head several times -- i guess ref got tired or warning him and just let it go -- no one would of let that many shots to back of the head happen but guess he was afraid of taking points or making people mad

edited: At the time of the stoppage, Mayweather led on all three judges' scorecards (87-83, 89-82, 89-81).

Many of those illegal punches were due to Floyd turning his back and just curling up. The ref told him multiple times to keep his head up and to stop turning around. And to reference the judges just shows how corrupt the boxing judging is. The unofficial judge had the much more realistic score but the real judges were not going to let a mcgregor decision make boxing look bad. Mcgregor was clearly losing in the late rounds but it was competitive until the 9th round. It was a good fight.

End of the day, it happened as many predicted, in other words, McGregor would struggle late in the rounds and lose either by decision or late finish. This is also one of the many times that McGregor showed his poor cardio late in rounds, the bigger gloves made his punching pedestrian, Floyd was much faster and was hitting harder as well. I think Floyd probably could of ended this earlier, he took the first rounds off to study his opponent and once he figured out there was no threat, he took him out. Conor had no chance in this fight and besides his close partners, Irish people and some MMA fighters, almost everyone had him losing it.

All i want is that he goes back to MMA and defend his belt.

The fight went pretty much exactly as I expected. I didnt think it was close or even all that entertaining.

I'm glad its over.

my thoughts also -- cant believe so many are saying it was close -- it was a blow out -- conor won first two cause floyd gave them to him and give him little confidence -- i mean floyd never even broke out a sweat and was laughing the entire fight -- many asking why he came out in ski mask, cause he knew he was about to rob 80 million people 100 bucks a pop

the fight was not bad at all..

few things ..

1. conor did win a few rounds and won more rounds then even the judges gave him!!

2. conor was very tired after 8th round or so and you could see it

3. there is no reason they should of stopped the fight the way they stopped it conor wasnt hurt he was still standing and swing back and forth trying to dodge .. plus this is a mega fight and there will be no rematch so the ref should know not to cut it short we wanted a fair stop not this!!!

4. conor did a lot more then any boxer said he would!!!

5. conor got paid big now can go back to ufc and beat all there asses haha win or lose having this in his career was big.. yea might be 0-1 in boxing but at lest he can say he got beat by a 50-0 fight and it wasnt a joke fight at all!!

6. i do think conor tried hard first few rounds cause he knew it was only way to win the fight so he did get tired

I was entertained.

Floyd definitely had a rope-a-dope mentality, but the first round or two he dropped I don't think was an intentional as people make it seem. He seemed a little flustered in his corner and they were trying to talk to him in a 'keep your head up, you'll get him back later' way.

Floyd went in there thinking he wouldn't get punched. He took a few solid, unexpected ones early. He respected it until the 3rd - 4th round. When Conor fades, the power fades, and his likelihood of winning went out the window. He showed a very good burst in the 8th round in the beginning catching Floyd, but then his energy levels set it and he was exploited.

Conor lost the boxing match, most knew that was gonna happen, but I think even to the most hardcore boxing enthusiast, they got a glimpse of just how bad a MMA fighter would fuck him (and most boxers) up outside of a ring. I know I'm not the only one that was watching this thinking 'Conor would literally kill this guy in a street fight'.

Floyd could have finished that in under 4 rounds.

It felt extremely scripted, I personally cleaned up on Floyd inside the distance at -150 , under 9 1/2 at -180 (this was close and made for a great sweat).

I disagree. Not saying it's impossible, just improbable and too risky for Floyd to attempt it. I think if Floyd could of finished him in 2 rounds, he would of did it. He made a smart and calculated move for his safest path to victory. Rope-a-dope.

That wasn't a fight. That was business 101. Floyd basically had the all-time record gifted to him. And in exchange gave the non-boxer some ring time. He wasn't supposed to knock any undue luster off the cash-cow, that is still bound to be around (other than him).

I found it absurdly blatant how Mayweather was sitting on the breaks. As soon as he let his hands go, he hit McGregor with a few punches that had me laughing. Also nothing that McGregor threw had any pop in it. In contrast to Mayweather he was slow and the punches looked more like he was tapping him all the time. That also goes for the early rounds. When McGregor landed that uppercut early on, it didn't even really move Floyd's head. That is exactly what I meant, when I said, that a good MMA striker is far from being a good boxer. The contrast of it was overwhelmingly obvious.

Floyd did what he was supposed to do. Win, but please don't kill him. There was nothing close about this fight and Mayweather could have ended it whenever he felt like it. For fuck sake! He was walking McGregor (billed as a "dangerous counter striker") down without even throwing anything at times.

McGregor's gas tank is limited. After the first few minutes of him putting 90-100% on his punches, he gets winded and loses his pop and speed.

Floyd when out there and did what he said he would 100%

everything that happened was what floyd said would happen

he executed his gameplan perfectly

he let conor get tired then he took conor out

the ref robbed Floyd of a KO and thats what would have happened.
