Hi and welcome to the Madness 31 preview with your stand in reporter Bobb Mogg, we have a stacked event to get through so let's get straight into it

265lbs Rattlesnake V Khaos

This opening bout is a battle of the big boys They're both based in Madnesses backyard of Montreal so both these fighters will be looking to win over some new local fans.

19yr old Mitch rattlesnake is a hard-hitting Boxer who doesn't believe in working overtime in the cage, he's 2-2 and all his wins and losses have come by way of tko in the first round. So as heavyhanded as he is, he's also vulnerable to being put away himself by a fellow heavy hitter.

18yr old Colby Khaos is stepping into the Madness arena for the first time, looking at his skill set he looks like a well rounded mixed martial artist, but did look a bit green tactically in his QFC and Mma Tycoon debut, He Rocked his opponent in the bout, but couldn't quite get the finish. He did however come through to comfortably win by unanimous decision, and steps into the madness spotlight this evening unveaten with a professional record of 1-0.

170lbs Mello V Ronson.

Our second fight of the evening is a welterweight bout, Both these guys like to do their business down on the matt, and this should be where most of the action takes place.

26yr old Tarik Mello has a respectable 4-2 record (2-2 madness record.) although he has 4 wins, his two losses have come in his last two fights so his recent form is inconsistent, what is consistent is his 4wins, all coming by Tko where this Bosnian monster likes to pound his opponents into submission on the deck.

26yr old Mikey Ronson is 3-4 professionally (2-4 inside the madness octogon) This Icelandic native is a jujitsu brown belt and has two submission wins and a ground and pound Tko. Again this guy is a serious floor player so this fight will be intriguing, and he will be hoping that his superior submission skills will be called upon to help him advance his record to 4-4

265lbs Canada V Hands

Our second and final heavyweight fight features two knockout artists with winning records.

26yr old Alex Canada has a 5-3 record, all his wins are by ko/tko four of which are Qfc bouts and three are against the recently retired Ross Corner with whom he had a trilogy of victories over. He has however had a some recent setbacks, with a change of manager not yet quite paying off as both his last two bouts have ended in defeat, he is however making his Madness debut, and hoping the change of scenery will kick start his career.

19yrold Fish Hands has an overall record of 4-2 (1-2madness record) after a perfect start of 4 wins in a row, 3 of which are by ko/tko reports have been going around that Fish Hands has been Distracted by outside influences (Mainly Groupies and Ring girls!) which have contributed to his last two bouts ending in defeat. This Promising young fighter needs to re focus and get his hands on his opponents and keep them off the ladies...

185lbs Randall V Unbelievable

This is the first middleweight bout of the evening featuring two fighters with similar records. Both will be looking to get their careers back on track and shake off the journeyman role that threatens to label both these fighters.

26yr old Bubba Randall,

2-2 (1-2madness record) This wrestler is looking to get back on track after two recent losses, he likes to take opponents down and pound them out, but was unfortunate to run into a canny BJJ practitioner in his last fight who submitted him.

22yr old Usko Unbelievable

3-3 (2-3Madness record) is also coming off a submission loss, he likes to take the fight down to the ground, and has a submission win under his belt, but has grinded out his other two wins by unanimous decision. I'd expect this fight to go this same way, and will come down to a battle of wills and who wants it more on the night.

185lbs Pallero V Monroe

Our second and final middleweight bout of the night is a classic stand up versus ground match up.

23yr old Finish Native llpo Pallero, 5-4 (2-2 madness record)

Looking through this young fighters career back catalogue I think the best way to describe him is Enigmatic. Which Fighter are we going to see on Fight night?? The slick submission machine 5 wins 5 Subs. Or the chinny Enigma who can be prone to getting knocked out? Toss a coin and wait and see. This guy can be a mma fans delight with his exciting fights or a managers nightmare which can leave them having sleepless nights.

27 year old Joe Monroe 3-3(all madness) is a fighter who could be at a cross roads in his career

The veteran has been with us here at madness for his entire career, and is at risk of being labelled as a hardworking journeyman. This Stand up Muai Thai expert likes to close down the distance and do his damage in the clinch, but this could also make him vulnerable to be taken down to the floor. That's what makes this fight intriguing, who will be able to execute their game plan and pick up the W...

145lbs Sandoval V Sosa

Our only featherweight bout of the night features two tough Hispanic Hombres.

20yr old Miguel " Pitbull" Sandoval, 4-2 (3-1 madness record) is a tough Durable fighter with exceptional wrestling skills, he's been the distance three times so far in his short career, so if his opponents cardio isn't up to scratch and can't keep up the Pitbull off them they're more than likely to get finished (2tko wins) he is however coming off decision loss so will be looking to getting back on track.

20yr old Marcello Sosa 3-1 (2-1 madness record)

Hes a young Gun who likes to get the job done inside the distance, all 3 wins have come by stoppage but is also patient and durable enough to take the fight into the final round, two of his three wins have came in the 3rd round, and his only loss has come by a Submission. I think he will definitely prefer to keep this fight standing.

155lbs Boom V Rodriguez

Moving into the Main card bouts and this Sole lightweight bout is looking like an eagerly anticipated one.

27yr old Samuel "The Bomb" Boom has a 5-1 (3-1 madness record) After a solid start winning his first two fights by decision Samuel really stepped things up when he was signed by the big boys first Cfc and now Madness 3 first round Tkos Quickly followed and endeared himself to the fans, his only loss was when he lost by a cut stoppage in a championship fight while with Cfc.

20yr old Ryan Rodriguez 3-2 (3-1 madness record) is a fighter who I'm already familiar with, I actually tried to sign him when he was looking for a new manager in free agency a few months ago. His all action stand up style and Lethal muai Thai kicks are something to behold. This guy can finish a fighter at any time, so you don't want to look away for a second when this guys in the cage. (3wins all ko/tko)

205lbs Davis V Davidson

This first of our two light heavyweight fights

20yr old "judge" Joe Davis 5-1 (4-1 madness record) ironically likes to be his own judge Jury and executioner, as 4 of his 5 wins have come by way of knockout. The Cage is now his Court room and you can witness him attempting to put away his next opponent very soon.

20yr old Luke Davidson 5-2 (4-2 Madness record) is one of bright stars in this stacked division, 4 of his 5 wins have been finished inside the distance including 3 first round kos, his only two losses have came against the champion and contender fighting tonight. At 20years old there's still plenty of potential improvement in Luke to be a top contender in Madness for a long time to come.

Co Main Event 135lb Title Fight

Qfc Tournament V Bernie Sanders

This is the first of our two top of the bill title fights and our sole bantamweight offering.

27 year old Tournament 6-2 (1-0 madness record)

The veteran, Tournament has bounced around the indie circuit (Qfc) honing his craft. But is still a relative novice in the big leagues, none the less there no denying this guys record. 5 of his wins have come inside the distance and his Muai Thai in the clinch is savagery at its best, he's butchered two of his opponents into a bloody pulp with his elbows (tko cuts) and will be looking to do something similar to the current champ.

27yr old Bernie "Sandman" Sanders 7-0 (6-0 madness record) is current champ and looks every bit the real deal. This guy can do it all he has wins in all three aspects of the game 2 decisions 4 submissions and a tko. I was looking for some stats on the champ and did you know in his entire 7 fight career he's only lost a single round!!! (I know what you're thinking, I need to get a life...)

Main Event

205lb light heavyweight title

Andrade V Khan

The challenger

Joao Andrade

20yrs old 5-1 (5-0 madness)

This young man has developed into what's known in the business as a legitimate killer, he has a perfect 5-0 madness record all 5 by ko/tko, 4 of those inside the first round. Can he defeat the current champion and end his perfect record, to do this he must try and keep the fight standing at all costs.

The Champion

Mohammed Khan

20yrs old 6-0 (5-0 madness)

This guy needs no introduction, the reigning champion will be making the third defence of his title, four wins by ko/tko and two by submission. This will be the third granite chinned opponent he has faced, and has knocked both of the previous two out, will it be three out of three??

Personally I think the champ should maybe try and take the challenger to the ground for the first time ever, and test out his skills down there. Or will he try what Jon Jones does so successfully and beat the challenger at his own game?.....

Maddness 34: West vs Gracie main card review

Hello,

My name is Tony Soprano and I'm coming to you with the review of the Maddness 34: West vs Gracie main card including the co-main event #1 contender match for the 185 pound Championship between Chris "Kenshin" Travis (6-2) and Konstantin "Kos" Sogrin (5-1) and the main event of the evening for the 145 pound Maddness MMA Championship between defending champion Deshawn West (7-0) and challenger "Ice Cream" Kron Gracie (4-3). Maddness 34 is being brought to you from the sold out Hard Knocks Arena in Montreal Canada by Sportivit Merchandise. Now on to the fights!

265+ pound division:

Raykusa Maui (2-1) vs Steven (Hard To Kill) Seagal (3-2)

Seagal is making his Maddness MMA debut in this fight and it didn't last long as he was cut early and it proved to be a crucial cut as it kept opening up more and more after continued shots from Maui. Maui scored two knockdowns before the referee had to have the doctor check Seagal's cut and deemed it too bad too continue. Maui wins by first round T/KO (cut). Seagal loses a tough debut but I'm sure we will see him again when all healed up!

155 pound division:

Samuel "The Bomb" Boom (6-2) vs Jeff " Cripler" Fafa (5-3)

This was a fight that was fast and furious! Both men traded shots on the feet back and forth for the first 3 minutes with both men getting cut in the process. However Boom was able to connect flush with a devistating combo knocking Fafa down hard. Boom motioned Fafa to stand up for one last chance to dance which Fafa did as the crowd roared with respect. It didn't last long though as Boom landed a straight right on the button dropping Fafa with hammerfists to follow. After an action packed 3 minutes Boom wins with a first round T/KO victory! Boom has won 3 of his last 4 fights while Fafa has lost 2 of his last 3 fights.

265+ pound division:

"Gentleman" Jim Fox (4-3) vs Bear "Machine" Claw (5-5)

Both fighters had to fight through adversity in this fight as both were dealing with cuts and hoping they didn't get worse. Fox went to the ground early and often completing 5 takedowns but was not able to finish Claw as Claw fought off many submission attempts. Fox and Claw did battle in the clinch often as well. At the end of 3 rounds the judges scored the contest 30:27 30:27 30:28 in favor of your winner by unamious decision...Jim Fox! "Gentleman" Jim Fox has won 4 of his last 5 fights while Bear "Machine" Claw has lost his last 2 fights.

Now for your CO MAIN EVENT of the evening....

A fight to determine the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER for the 185 pound middleweight championship

Chris "Kenshin" Travis (6-2) vs Konstantin "Kos" Sogrin (5-1)

Sogrin has won his first 4 fights in Maddness MMA and is undefeated en route to this fight. Travis has also won his first 4 fights in the promotion so this fight had all the ingredients for fireworks and it absolutely delivered in the form of 3 rounds of battle. Travis was able to catch Sogrin with a big overhand right that rocked him. Sogrin was not only able to recover but he was able to defend a few submission attempts whole recovering! Chris Travis is ahead 2-0 after the first two rounds and controlling the fight. Round 3 saw both fighters go at it with their fists and back and forth the action went until Travis was able to connect with a beautiful counter uppercut that rocked Sogrin and left him with a decent bump under his eye. Sogrin was able to recover again and hold off Travis finishing the fight and leaving it in the judges hands. Great fight by both men! Judges scored the contest 30:27 30:27 30:27 for unamious decision victory for Chris "Kenshin" Travis! Chris "Kenshin" Travis is your new number 1 contender for the 185 pound Maddness MMA Championship. Sogrin won't go home empty handed though as both men were awarded $2500 for the FIGHT OF THE NIGHT! Well deserved!

Now for your MAIN EVENT of the evening!!

The 145 pound Maddness MMA Championship is on the line as DeShawn West (7-0) defends his championship against "Ice Cream" Kron Gracie (4-3).

Both fighters had a good strategic fight as nobody landed any big shots or made any crucial mistakes. West was the better fighter and really showed his class both on the feet and on the ground. Gracie tried his best by landing a few takedowns and going for submission attempts but never really got close with any. West is undefeated and the champion for a reason and he came out and showed what a good team and a good camp can do for a fighter. West won all 5 rounds by a landslide but give Gracie credit for surviving 25 mins with a dangerous fighter like West! The judges scored the contest 50:45 50:45 50:45 for unamious decision winner...and still Maddness MMA 185 pound middleweight champion...undefeated at 7-0...DeShawn West!! West didn't waste long and has already agreed to his 4th title defense at Maddness 37 against (4-0) " No Way" Jose Ronaldo.

KO of the night went to Prelim fighter Sabotage "Pussy Melter" Rex

Submission of the night went to Prelim fighter Bryan "Ferrari" Furry.

$2500 awarded to both men. Congratulations!!

This fight card had everything you hoped for with 2 first round T/KO and 3 exciting fights that went the distance! That's all for our review. I'm Tony Soprano and we hope to see you next week at Maddness 35: Camoran vs Krylov featuring a main event 265+ Heavyweight Championship fight!

MADNESS 36: DAVIDSON VERSUS ANDRADE PREVIEW

HARD KNOCKS – MONTREAL

Xavier: Greetings, ladies and gentlemen! I’m your special guest host, Esiah Xavier, and with me in the booth as always is my effervescent and outspoken broadcast partner and friend, Furious Styles!

Styles: What’s up X, and what’s up Montreal!? It’s been a very long time since I’ve been in the land of the North, X!

Xavier: I didn’t know you had been to Canada before, Styles.

Styles: I’m a well-traveled man, X, an international player, if you will! I’ve definitely had some great adventures in Canada and in this beautiful city! I love the way some of these fine ladies speak French here in Montreal!

Xavier: I should’ve known you’d take it there!

Styles: Of course I will! I love the ladies, you know that!

Xavier: I know that all too well, believe me! We were in Empyrean for one week and already we had letters and emails sent to Empyrean management about your behavior in Los Angeles! I’m shocked they let both of us stay there to continue broadcasting our previews of their events!

Styles: Like Denzel Washington’s charter in Training Day said, it’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove! None of those ladies could prove anything because I’m smarter than them and told them they had to turn off all electronic devices before taking a walk on the wild side with me!

Xavier: I’m not even going to embark down that line of questioning. Anyway, there are 3,000 rabid MMA fans in attendance here at the Hard Knocks arena in Montreal!

Styles: I know we started getting used to the 92,000 plus fans that attended Empyrean events, but I have to give it up to the 3,000 here tonight! They’re crazy loud and are very supportive of the fighters they back! I respect that! Also, I do like the spinning Joker thing that’s outside of the arena! That’s awesome!

Xavier: Spinning Joker thing? Out of all the vocabulary you know and utilize, thing is the best you could come up with?

Styles: Close your trap, X! My mind is on other things!

Xavier: I’m not even going to ask. Tonight there are four championship fights, Styles! Count them. Four!

Styles: Four!? Holy crap! That’s awesome because that could shift the focus of four different divisions in one night! This is going to be one hell of a card!

Xavier: It absolutely will be! Let’s get down to business! There will be a total of 10 fights with two of them being in the Bantamweight division, one of which is for the Bantamweight title! There will also be one Featherweight fight, three Lightweight fights with one of them being for the Lightweight title! The sole Middleweight fight is for the Middleweight championship! We have two Light Heavyweight fights with one of them being for the Light Heavyweight title, and rounding out the action will be the big guns as the Super Heavyweight division makes an appearance!

Styles: That’s a fantastic representation of various divisions and the fans will be in for one hell of a treat as we’ll see different approaches to battle, different speeds, strengths, and maneuverability! I can’t wait!

Xavier: Kicking off this outstanding night of action will be Quintet Tarantino and Frank Till!

Styles: Tarantino? Do you think he’s related to Quentin Tarantino!? That dude’s such a bad ass director!

Xavier: I don’t know but that would be very cool if he was!

Styles: Yeah it would be because I could see if he could get me a date with Salma Hayek!

Xavier: Keep dreaming! Tarantino steps into this fight with an unblemished 4-0 record! The purple Mohawk sporting warrior from Hollywood, California, represents the FinnFighters and had an excellent run in the QFC Tournament 932 circuit! He’s obviously a submission-focused fighter who is working steadily to improve upon his standup skills, and he’ll need them against the standup-focused Frank Till! Despite being shorter and younger, I think Tarantino will be able to withstand the standup capabilities that Till has because one, Tarantino has shown a propensity to get the fight to the ground and control the action there! In addition, I saw both of these fighters earlier this evening, Styles, and I have to tell you that Till looks like he just ran a marathon!

Styles: Seriously!? He’s stepping into a fight inside of a cage against an opponent who wants to hurt him as quickly and as severely as possible without having the energy to truly hold up in battle!?

Xavier: I’m just telling you what I saw, Styles!

Styles: Now that’s a damn shame! He should at least be well rested before a fight! Who trains until they can barely stand before a fight!?

Xavier: He does, apparently. Another advantage that Tarantino has is he’s shorter than Till and that will help him lock in various submissions easier because it’s easier to manipulate longer limbs than short ones.

Styles: That’s very true, X! I don’t even know what to say about Till! He’s 2-1 so far in his yong career but if he keeps stepping into fights looking like just played a full game of hockey with the Canadiens then he’s going to find that winning record become a losing one very fast! Normally I’d say he has a good advantage with his height because he can utilize his long legs to chop away at Tarantino’s legs, but if he’s too tired then he won’t have the speed to use those kicks plus they’ll be as hard as a wet noodle hitting a wall because he’ll have no strength behind them! I don’t know what’s going on with the Tucson, Arizona product, but he’d better get himself together and fast! For his sake, I hope this fight ends quickly so he can figure out what the hell he wants to do with himself!

Xavier: I unfortunately have to concur, Styles! This fight will be over fast and hopefully Till gets his head straight and starts to take care of himself much better! In light of that, this prediction is easy to make. Tarantino wins by submission.

Styles: Absolutely! Tarantino gets the tapout with ease tonight!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Tarantino by Submission; Xavier – Tarantino by Submission

Styles: On to the next battle where the big sides of beef known as Super Heavyweights step into the cage and make the cage rumble and roll beneath their feet! Barnum Mann and Jasper Collins locks horns in this fight! “The Mountain” Mann makes his MMA debut tonight and that’s one hell of a tall order, no pun intended! To step right into an organization without having at least one fight, be it QFC or elsewhere, is pretty damned ballsy because the fighter and the management team don’t know exactly what they’re workin’ with! I guarantee you, though, Mann’s going to find out what he’s about as he squares off against Collins! Mann is one big son of a bitch, though, and I assume that anyone he hits is going to get hurt! That could very well be enough in this fight! From the training footage we’ve seen and from the fight footage we’ve seen from Collins, Mann might be very well served to counterattack Collins with precision striking while trying to lock him into a clinch! If Mann gets the clinch then he can lean his weight on Collins plus, potentially, do some solid damage if he can sit some power behind his weight when he strikes!

Xavier: “Revolutionary” Collins is a perfect 3-0 so far in his young career! This member of the Tycoon Alliance will have some fans on his side for the mere fact that he lives and trains right here in Montreal, so he could very well perform above and beyond his usual abilities because at least part of the crowd will be behind him! The Denmark warrior from Bjorgentown has shown a propensity for dropping his opponents with vicious, brutal power, specifically in his fists! Needless to say, Mann is going to have to keep his guard up and try to bob and weave as best as possible because if his striking defense and footwork aren’t solid, this could be a very painful and short night! Collins has knocked out two of three opponents in the first round so he likes to get in, drop hammers, and go home! That aggression is a benefit as long as Mann doesn’t use that against him! However, if Mann is able to counterattack Collins’ punches, that will prove to be a major issue because I don’t think Collins has taken the time to learn how to use his tree trunk legs as weapons yet and kick effectively! In light of that, if Mann decides to chop away at Collins’ legs then Collins will have a very difficult time landing power punches because his foundation will be unbalanced and under constant attack!

Styles: Despite not being battle tested, I like what I’ve seen in the training videos from Mann! I’m going to roll with him to win his debut tonight because he took the time to round out his skills a bit before stepping into the cage of pain! I assume he’ll be able to keep his hands up and his head moving to avoid having it blasted repeatedly by Collins’ dynamite-filled knuckles! In addition, Mann should be able to kick the legs and body of Collins and that will drain the big man’s energy plus prevent him from using full power with his punches! Mann wins this fight by knockout!

Xavier: Collins may not know how to throw a solid kick at this point in his career, but he doesn’t really need to when he can launch missiles known as his fists! I’m sure his management and training team have ensured he sharpened his striking defense to at least decrease the number of leg and body kicks that Mann could potentially land in this fight, plus Collins may not even give Mann the opportunity to test his kicking skills! Collins could opt to counterattack the young and eager Mann and tax his energy by punching him to the body before looking for the knockout blow he’s fully capable of landing! Collins wins this fight by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Collins by KO; Styles – Mann by KO

Xavier: The action continues as Kai Kona and Randel Buckingham lock horns in the cage!

Styles: Buckingham? Like the palace?

Xavier: Well, yes, it’s spelled the same way.

Styles: Is he blue blood royalty?

Xavier: I have no idea, Styles. I suppose we’ll find out one way or another. Kai Kona hails from Oahu, Hawaii, and represents the Keyboard Warriors! This fighter steps into combat with a 1-2 record so he’s obviously looking to pull his record to an even 2-2 tonight! He’s had a bit of a rough start to his career because his first two fights obviously ended up as losses! His very first fight saw him get knocked out cold by a Spinning Backfist! That’s one very tough way to start a career but much to his credit, he got right back into the cage to fight so he definitely has the right mentality to be a successful fighter! He snapped his 2-fight losing streak by knocking out Alexander Kokorin in the first round at Madness Fright Night 21! That definitely made him feel good to get that first career win and he can look to build on the momentum from that victory! Kona has a pronounced height advantage over Buckingham and I fully expect him to use that to his advantage for as long as possible, specifically with his muay thai skills! He can definitely keep Buckingham at bay by unleashing numerous kicks, and in doing that he can also prevent Buckingham getting in close enough to try and land some punches! Kona may also consider a heavy dose of kicks to prevent Buckingham trying to wrap him up in a clinch and potentially control the fight from up close and personal!

Styles: “Double Stuff”, which may possibly be a nickname attributed to adult B movies, carries a 2-3 overall record into this fight! Very much like his opponent tonight, Buckingham is looking to pull his record even. Hailing from Springfield, this fighter definitely favors the grappling aspect of fighting and he can easily frustrate opponents by locking them into a clinch and controlling the pace and space of a fight despite their efforts to break free! He’s had a rough start to his career as well and tasted canvas the first two fights he had! In both of those fights he was knocked out in the first round and that’s definitely a sign of concern for both the fighter and his management team! Not taking anything away from his opponents but that could very well be a sign that his jaw can’t withstand too much power. If that’s the case then he’ll either have to work very hard to improve his striking defense or opt to focus more on the ground game of fighting and focus on trying to drag fights to the ground where he can keep his chin tucked and not get it plucked by power shots. He turned his fortunes around after that 2-fight losing streak by going on a 2-fight winning streak! That win streak was recently snapped by Wyatt Measles – one hell of a last name by the way – so he’s looking to get back in the win column against Kona!

Xavier: For this fight, I’m going to pick Buckingham to win because I feel his combat experience gives him a slight edge over Kona. In addition, he wants to silence the critics who question his ability to take a solid punch and a win tonight is a very good way to begin to quiet the doubters! He may be able to frustrate Kona by keeping him pressed against the cage and controlling his movements and slow down his strikes while landing his own damage before dragging this to the ground and going for the tapout! Buckingham wins by submission!

Styles: Kicks will make the difference in this fight for Kona! Keeping those legs whipping at Buckingham’s legs and body will make Buckingham stay on the outside and Kona will take that all night because of his height advantage! Kona will let Buckingham get in close and tag him before he can get the clinch or takedown, and then Kona will land the one shot he needs to turn out the lights and walk out the winner by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Kona by KO; Xavier – Buckingham by Submission

Styles: Demarcus Jackson and Pauly Just Training are the next warriors to step into the cage! The bearded brawler from Orlando known as Jackson is an even 2-2 heading into this fight, and the C$ntmaras Doom member has shown early indications of being able to win both on his feet and on the ground! His very first fight was a submission victory over Ade Absame at Madness 16 Ribbit versus Number, by way of Triangle Choke! After that great start he dropped the next two fights in a row by decision and knockout, respectively! Instead of panicking, he got himself together and knocked Yoshihiro Koyama out in the first round at Madness 30 West versus Hawkins! Hoping to continue that knockout ability, look for Jackson to continue being aggressive and pressure Training into trying to make the costly mistake that Jackson can capitalize on! Jackson has the height advantage here and I expect him to keep this fight vertical where, from what we’ve seen, he has a distinct advantage!

Xavier: We’ve always enjoyed seeing inter-alliance battles, Styles, because there’s bragging rights on the line, especially if the fighters train at the same gym! Technically speaking, the alliance doesn’t lose anything because one of their fighters wins anyway unless it’s a draw, of course, but I don’t see this fight ending up as a draw! “Larly” is 1-0 so far, obviously a great start, but I have to wonder why he accepted this fight against his fellow alliance member! Is there a personal vendetta? A bet between them? A test to see if Training can hang with Jackson for a certain amount of time? No disrespect to Training because he could very well pull off what many would consider to be an upset, but for that to happen, he’s going to have to abandon common sense, so to speak, and try and keep Jackson off balance with unusual attacks and tactics! Larly favors the submission aspect of fighting but Jackson is far superior in terms of BJJ skills, so getting him to the ground will be a very difficult task to say the least. Of course, Training could say to hell with all of it and just go for home run hits each and every time in hopes of catching Jackson with an unexpected punch or kick that rocks his world and sets him up for submissions that way! Either way, the Cuban product has his hands full and will have to dig very deeply in order to win this fight tonight!

Styles: Training has been working diligently and that’s obvious, but he shouldn’t have taken this fight against his alliance mate! Jackson is, quite frankly, too much for Larly to handle! Jackson is older, has the combat experience advantage, and has looked sharper with his training team than Larly has. It’s unfortunate but he took the fight so he’s going to have to accept the consequences! I will say this: Larly accepting this fight is, to me, pure madness, so he’s right at home in this organization! Jackson wins this fight by knockout!

Xavier: It’s not too often that you and I agree, Styles, but for this fight we’re absolutely on the same page! I’m not sure if Larly is trying to prove something to himself, members of C$ntmaras Doom, or is, quite frankly, wanting to experience his own style of madness! Either way, the only way he pulls this off is to get lucky and have enough power and solid timing with that lucky strike to knock Jackson down and out or daze him enough to try and get him to the ground for the tapout! Either way, I just don’t see that happening here and I see Jackson emerging victorious and earning bragging rights!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Jackson by KO; Styles – Jackson by KO

Xavier: We keep the rabid fans wanting more with Alexander Rhodes and Dale Holloway stepping into the cage of judgement! Rhodes is currently 4-2 overall and the Los Angeles product who’s a proud member of UnderGround Fights Enterprises started his career off very well by winning 3-fights in a row! He’s demonstrated a desire to get fights to the ground where he likes to pummel opponents into submission using relentless ground-and-pound! Most recently, however, he got a taste of his own medicine to an extent when Jose Ronaldo finished him off with punch after punch in the third round at Madness Fright Night 22! Obviously, that loss stung Rhodes and when I spoke briefly with his training team, they expressed some concern about his mental state because he hasn’t been the usual energetic fighter they’re used to seeing! Whatever’s bothering him, he’s definitely going to need to get over it because it’s going to damage his ability to fight and that’s a dangerous mix for any fighter!

Styles: “King Me” Holloway, I guess he likes to play checkers, is an impressive 5-1 overall, although he struggled in the TWGC 25 and 26 tournament qualifiers! Still, This member of C$ntmaras Doom, who have a solid presence here in Madness, shows that he likes to make opponents lament and tapout to him! Despite that fact, I don’t think Holloway wants to get into a grappling and submission comparison battle with Rhodes in this fight! It puts him at unnecessary risk in my opinion and I think Rhodes knows that. However, since that seems to be the agreed upon perspective, Holloway will gladly keep this fight on its feet where he can test the chin and standup abilities of Rhodes! If Holloway gets a sense that he doesn’t have to concern himself too much with Rhodes’ striking power then expect him to really pour on the pressure and go for the finish!

Xavier: Rhodes knows his only chance is to get this fight on the horizontal plane and the best approach to that is to counterattack Holloway and use his aggression and striking ability against him! Rhodes is going to have to rely on his age, life experience and grappling ability in this fight because he’ll need to wear Holloway down first before going for the submission! Trying to slow Holloway down and make him carry his weight is the best method of approach to trying to win this fight! If nothing else, he can just try to outscore Holloway on the judges’ scorecards as opposed to going for the finish if he feels Holloway is too skilled in the defensive grappling aspect of ground fighting! It’ll be difficult but Rhodes wins this fight by unanimous decision!

Styles: Holloway’s only loss as of late has been by knockout! Rhodes doesn’t possess knockout power because if he did then he’d drop people in the standup! Winning is winning and grounding and pounding people out is just as effective but he’ll have to get Holloway to the mat and I don’t think that’ll be the case! Holloway’s speed, aggression and power will turn out Rhodes’ lights before he has a chance to even test his grappling skills against Holloway!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Holloway by KO; Xavier – Rhodes by Unanimous Decision

Styles: The last fight before the run down championship lane happens between Dro Qanar and Joe Davis! Qanar dresses well and certainly likes colorful shirts, and I can respect that sense of style. Get it? Style!?

Xavier: Yes, I get that corny joke, Styles!

Styles: Don’t hate because you weren’t clever enough to think of it! Anyway, This member of The Evil Empire steps into combat with a 4-2 overall record and has shown he’s quite balanced as a fighter! The majority of his victories have been by way of submission but don’t let that fool you! He knocked out Nick Reny in 24 seconds at Madness Fright Night 22, so Davis can’t let his guard down or he’ll end up paying the same price that Reny paid! Looking at Qanar’s body of work, he’s very aggressive with all but one of his fights ending in the first round! That style of fighting puts tremendous pressure on opponents and makes most men uncomfortable so Davis will have to prepare to weather the storm as best as he can! Qanar is 10 lbs. lighter than Davis so look for him to use that speed advantage to stick-and-move with counterattacks in an effort to drag Davis to the mat and keep the fight there where he may have a slight advantage in submission abilities. Keeping his feet and head moving will be key for Qanar in this fight!

Xavier: “Judge” Davis hails from Los Angeles and as many have seen on television, he’s sharp of tongue, quick of wit, has a solid mind and doesn’t deal with attitude in his court! However, this is the cage of combat and Davis is a solid 5-2 overall! He began his career with a 3-fight win streak then ran into a tough battle against Wayne Johnston at Madness Insanity 8 where he lost by TKO in the first! Instead of moping about that loss and feeling down, he picked himself right back up, got back into the cage and won his next two fights! However, he ran into a buzzsaw named Luke Davidson at Madness 31 Kahn versus Andrade where he lost by TKO in the third round! Obviously, Davis wants to overcome that painful loss and plant himself firmly in the winner’s column once again! To get that done, quite simply he needs to use his Golden Gloves boxing ability and light up Qanar with a barrage of punches from various angles plus mix in sporadic kicks from the outside to keep Qanar guessing and off balance. If he feels he’s not able to punish Qanar with punches, he can opt to try and lock Qanar into a clinch battle where he can definitely wear Qanar down with strikes to the body!

Styles: I happen to like that show and I have a great respect or judges. With that in mind, my pick to win this fight is Davis because I think his excellent boxing ability will be the difference maker in keeping this fight on its feet where he can take full advantage! He knows Qanar has to get close to him for the shoot-in takedown. If Qanar tries to lock Davis into a clinch then Davis will welcome that because he’ll be able to control the action while preventing himself from taking too much damage! Unless Qanar catches Davis off guard with an unexpected haymaker, Davis wins this fight by knockout!

Xavier: Aggressive counterattacks will be the key for Qanar to get the win in this fight! If he stands toe-to-toe with Davis then he’s going to pay the price because Davis’ boxing skills are too much for Qanar to handle at this point in his career! That said, there’s always a chance Qanar can land a blind hook or uppercut that alters the course of this fight in the blink of an eye! Overall, I think Qanar has to stick-and-move until he can make Davis miss and once he causes that one opening, he has to launch full force into a takedown and once he lands it, he immediately has to float into a dominant position so he can cause damage until he’s able to lock in the submission he’s looking for and secures the win!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Qanar by Submission; Styles – Davis by KO

Xavier: Now we move onto the first of the series of championship fights! Firing off the first salvos will be Malik El Shabazz and Jason Carter battling for the Middleweight title! The undefeated Shabazz has won by unanimous decision for all but two of his fights, so he understands how to balance out aggression with patience, power with precision, and he also knows how to keep himself out of harm’s way! That’s a sign of intelligence and defensive capability and you better believe those are part of the winning formula that has made him champion! Shabazz is a bit shorter than Cater in this fight but not enough to deter him from engaging toe-to-toe in the standup! One interesting wrinkle in this fight will be a decision that both men will make during the course of this fight. Neither of them seems particularly interested in taking this fight to the ground because their BJJ skills aren’t as sharp as their standup skills at this point in their careers. The champion could very well opt to attack Carter with very aggressive and accurate strikes while relentlessly pushing the pace to force Carter into potentially uncomfortable situations!

Styles: Jason Carter has fought his way to a 4-1 record, and the New Yorker and member of The Stepdads had a tough start to his career by getting TKO’d by Ben Saunders in a QFC war! However, he obviously overcome that loss and stuck to his confidence and belief, and he now has an opportunity to be a champion! That speaks volumes about his warrior heart and fighting spirit, and those two aspects, along with his obvious skills, could be the mixture that carries him to the championship path! All but his most recent fight ended in the first round so he could very well equal the energy output that Shabazz may end up using in this fight. One major difference for Carter is all of his wins have been by TKO or KO! That, ladies and gentlemen, has the makings of a knockout artist, and Shabazz absolutely does not want to find out if his chin can withstand Carter’s power! Carter has defeated opponents who are known for being able to take a great deal of damage to their jaw, so trying to match power with Carter would be a very big mistake for Shabazz! Obviously for Carter, he would salivate at the chance to goad Shabazz into a standup war!

Xavier: Shabazz must rely on his speed and maneuverability to avoid tasting Carter’s power and he’s proven repeatedly he has the ability to do that very thing! This fight may end up being a counterattack party for Shabazz because Carter knows he has devastating punching power and may fall in love with the idea of launching a flurry of power punches in hopes of ending Shabazz’s night very early! Shabazz can use that aggression against Carter and tag him time and again with quick, accurate strikes while avoiding power punches and neck-whipping high kicks! If Shabazz can make Carter chase him then all the better for Shabazz because Carter’s power isn’t the same if he has to strike while moving laterally instead of being able to sink his hips and drive his power forward! Shabazz will be light on his feet and his fists will be at full speed through this entire fight, and as a result, he’ll sustain the hold on his title by winning this fight via unanimous decision!

Styles: Carter brings incendiary power into the cage, X, and as good as Shabazz is, especially on defense and avoiding major damage, Carter’s overall skills are on par with Shabazz’s, in the very least, and he may even have a slight advantage in the standup! One thing for sure is Carter has a major power advantage over Shabazz and regardless of Shabazz does, Carter has a puncher’s chance of winning this fight in a flash because all it takes is one clean shot and Shabazz could very well be going night-night! Carter is going to have to exercise patience and smart tactics to keep Shabazz from outscoring him on the score cards while making Carter chase him. If Carter’s able to cut the cage in half, so to speak, Shabazz’s ability to stick-and-move are greatly reduced and the chance for Carter to land power shots are greatly improved! Carter will be cautious for a short time to figure out how to move Shabazz to a corner but once he does, the pressure will be on and his power will be unleashed! Carter will exit the cage with the Middleweight title secured around his waist!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Carter by KO; Xavier – Shabazz by Unanimous Decision

Styles: The Bantamweight title hangs in the balance as Can Crusher and Bernie Sanders square off! All right, these names are too odd for me not to comment! Can Crusher? He sounds like he should work at a junkyard or something! And, Bernie Sanders? I see enough politicized Tweets throughout the day and now I have to comment about a dude named after a presidential candidate!? I just can’t escape talks about politics!

Xavier: It’s obviously a hot topic, Styles! Trying to avoid hearing about political offices and various representatives vying for offices is futile because the media is all over it.

Styles: I get it, trust me! I’m just tired of the wave after wave of political news! Moving on, Crusher is 3-1 overall, and the man from Afghanistan, Kabul, specifically, has knocked out two of his last three opponents so he’s definitely feeling good about himself! The last time we saw the champion, he fought Kim Il Sung and won by unanimous decision at Madness 32 Petrov versus Jansen! He’ll obviously take the win, but Crusher wanted to knock Sung out and I’m sure that has served as motivation for him to step up his training to become even more dangerous! If Crusher can establish the pace of this fight early, then he could make things very difficult for Sanders! Crusher has a substantial height advantage over Sanders and that plays right into Crusher’s hands, literally, because he can stay on the outside and just pump jabs, crosses, and combinations of hooks and uppercuts if and when Sanders is able to get inside the defenses that Crusher has! Sanders is going to have one hell of a time trying to past Crusher’s kicks, let alone the fists that will follow if he does manage to avoid taking too many kicks!

Xavier: Sanders has the age and combat experience in this fight tonight and I fully expect him to use both of those to his advantage! “Sandman” is a perfect 8-0 in his career and has proven to be quite dangerous and capable on the ground! In fact, it goes without saying that Sanders will want to get this fight on the ground as soon as possible and keep it there for as long as possible! This fight is another example of the classic standup versus ground fighter scenario. In order the LEGION OF DOOM member to win this fight, he’ll have to counterattack Crusher because Sanders would be taking a big risk by trying to overwhelm Crusher while both of them are standing! Trying to lock Crusher into a clinch is just as risky because Crusher would expect Sanders to try and either score the trip takedown or pull guard from the clinch! I don’t think Sanders has the strength and grappling ability to takedown Crusher from a distance so shooting in is off the menu of options for Sanders! One distinct advantage Sanders has over Crusher is championship experience! That’s invaluable in the cage or ring because champions know how to find that extra gear or dig down deep when the odds are suddenly stacked against them!

Styles: Sanders has proven a lot of people wrong, X, because many folks said he’s too old to hang with the younger fighters he’s faced! Well, he obviously knows how to handle business and, as you said, he’s acquired championship experience. That experience is a testament to his training regimen plus his capabilities in the cage! He knows full well he needs to get this fight on the mat and keep it there. The good news for him is he knows how to do that! The Denmark product from Copenhagen could very well try to surprise Crusher by landing power strikes in the standup as Crusher tries to apply a lot of pressure on Sanders! Sanders could soften Crusher up enough to where he’ll be able to shoot in from a distance, score the takedown, and float immediately into side control or full mount where he can really put Crusher into a very bad position! The important aspect for Sanders in this fight is to keep his chin tucked and expect body punches and kicks if he stands in front of Crusher for too long! Footwork and creating angles will be the key to victory against Crusher, and he’ll have to dig deep to make those angles work for him! The champion will show his form tonight against a game opponent by using Crusher’s aggression against him, taking him to the mat, and forcing the tapout once Sanders is able to lock in control! The champion retains his title by submission!

Xavier: Crusher has a couple of options here, Styles, and they’re both very favorable for him! He could either stay on the outside and force Sanders to try and avoid his long limbs as he throws a multitude of punches and kicks while trying to keep Sanders from moving around the entire cage effectively! Or, Crusher can rush Sanders, lock him up in a clinch, and unleash various punches from there while preventing takedowns because he’ll be able to feel Sanders’ attempts at takedowns from the clinch! As soon as he feels that, he can rely on his solid grappling ability to keep Sanders from taking this fight to the ground and when that happens, Sanders will be in a world of trouble because Crusher will push himself to crush Sanders in the clinch! If Sanders manages to avoid being locked into a clinch, then Crusher can fire off combinations of punches and kicks while not having to worry about taking damage due to the height advantage he’ll enjoy in this fight! Crusher will launch attacks from a safe distance and damage Sanders enough to make him take the chance of getting close to Crusher. Once he does that, Crusher will unload the power and walk out of the cage as the new Bantamweight champion!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Crusher by KO; Styles – Sanders by Submission

Xavier: Our penultimate battle for the Lightweight title takes place between Olyn Seran and Ryan Rodriguez! “The Conjurer” Seran of The Evil Empire steps into this title defense with a 5-1 record! The Imperial City warrior has proven himself to be dangerous both in the standup and on the ground as he has made opponents tap out while knocking others out! After losing his first fight by TKO in the first at the hands of Cung Wo Par, he’s established a 5-fight win streak and the last time he fought, he forced Pinero Chai to tapout to a Triangle at Madness 29 Chai versus Seran! Now that Seran has the title, his confidence is soaring and he’s looking to build on that championship experience and mettle! Against Rodriguez, he has a slight height and weight advantage, so I look for him to use that to his advantage in the grappling aspect of combat! One facet of this fight that will prove difficult for Seran is Rodriguez’s excellent muay thai ability! The kicks that Rodriguez can launch and land can definitely swing the momentum of this fight to his favor so Seran’s kicking defense better be sharp and ready for this fight!

Styles: Rodriguez enters combat tonight with a 4-2 record, and The Stepdads product from San Diego is sure to be very happy having a distinct advantage in the standup of this fight with his tremendous muay thai skills! What’s interesting to me is this is Rodriguez’s second manager in his young career. After winning two fights in a row, he and his former management team decided to part ways for whatever reason! With his current management, he started off rough by being knocked out by none other than Olyn Seran at Madness 20 Rising Stars! Now he’s faced with an opportunity to not only gain revenge for that loss but to also, obviously, walk out of this fight as the new Lightweight champion! With Rodriguez, he either knocks out the opponent or they knock him out! That straight-forward style of fighting is effective when he’s able to land the harder strikes earlier and the fans also greatly enjoy watching him fight with that style! Since he’s shorter and lighter in this fight, I expect him to use counterattacks with his punches but especially with his kicks! He can brutalize Seran’s legs repeatedly then sneak in a head kick that could drop Seran in his tracks!

Xavier: I think Rodriguez has the tools and motivation he needs to pull of this win and gain the title as well as some redemption for losing to Seran the first time they crossed paths! There have been whispers of concern about Rodriguez’s ability to absorb power shots and keep going, but he won’t have to worry about Seran’s power if he lands his power shots first and with more force! His kicking ability can be used to slow down Seran by chopping at his legs and body, plus he can combine those kicks with well-placed punches to the body to make Seran drop his guard and then surprise Seran with an uppercut between Seran’s hands! Rodriguez walks out of this battle as the new champion by way of knockout!

Styles: Seran has the upper hand in this fight because he knows he can beat Rodriguez, and that’s major! Add in the fact he has championship experience and that equals an excellent opportunity at winning this fight despite the fact he hasn’t trained muay thai to the same level that Rodriguez has! Seran is very well-balanced and that works in his favor because he’ll be able to damage Rodriguez no matter the situation, and having the ability to do that will allow Seran to wear Rodriguez down with fast, accurate punches before blasting Rodriguez with the one or two power punches he needs to drop Rodriguez and open him up for the finish! Seran will once again defeat Rodriguez by knockout and continue his title reign!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Seran by KO; Xavier – Rodriguez by KO

Xavier: And we wrap up this night of exciting action with the Light Heavyweight title in the balance as Joao Andrade and Luke Davidson get it on! Andrade of The Stepdads hails from Coimbra, Portugal, and he’s currently riding a 6-fight win streak! That momentum has given him tremendous confidence and the timing of that confidence couldn’t be any better! He became the new Light Heavyweight champion when he defeated Mohammed Kahn by unanimous decision at Madness 31 Kahn versus Andrade! To Kahn’s credit, he’s the only fighter to have not been knocked out during the champion’s winning streak, but that doesn’t mean Andrade can’t rock Davidson’s chin and make his night end rather abruptly and painfully! Championship experience is also a feather in Andrade’s cap that can’t be denied or underestimated! Andrade will enjoy a height advantage against Davidson in this fight and that’s going to make things very tough on Davidson because he’s going to have to be very cautious with Andrade’s kicking ability! Andrade has world class muay thai skills and knows how to use his kicks to setup his knockout punches! If Davidson takes too many striking combinations from Andrade, he’s going to be in very bad shape in a short period of time!

Styles: Davidson steps into the cage with a 6-2 record, and this member of The Evil Empire hails from Weston Super Mare, England! Davidson has proven that his fists are grenades that are set to go off each time they make contact with an opponent! He began his career with a 3-fight win streak but is 3-2 over his last five fights so he’s looking to continue his current win streak while establishing consistency! The bad news for Davidson is both of his losses have been by knockout so his battles either end up with him winning by knockout or losing by knockout! That’s a very exciting style for the fans and they love watching his fights, but for the longevity of his career, improving his striking defense and increasing his speed will very much work in his favor of defending against knockouts! Davidson is going to have to overcome mental challenges as well because one of the knockout losses he suffered is at the hands of the champion! Andrade knocked Davidson out the first time their paths crossed at Madness 22 Diaz versus Donde! That knockout occurred in the first round and you better believe that neither one of these warriors forgot the results of that battle! Both men have definitely improved upon their capabilities but history can’t be erased nor forgotten, and Davidson may very well use that loss as the extra motivation he needs in this fight to not only earn the win and the title, but to gain a bit of redemption against Andrade!

Xavier: Andrade’s momentum is outstanding and the timing of that is impeccable! He may very well be able to withstand Davidson’s power while unfurling his own power on Davidson! Again, having that much of a height difference is going to enable Andrade to kick Davidson each and every time he tries to get in close and launch counterattacks! Andrade can use his kicks to set Davidson up for nasty uppercuts and crosses because Davidson’s attention will be focused on Andrade’s legs and that could cause him to drop his guard just long enough for Andrade to come over the top of his hands and pop him with brutal power! If Andrade feels he can’t get the knockout for some reason, he can pull back the power and lean more on accuracy and speed to keep Davidson at a distance while scoring vital points on the judges’ scorecards. However, I think Andrade has too much power for Davidson plus Andrade knows he can knock Davidson out, and that confidence will enable him to obtain the same result here tonight! Andrade wins this fight by knockout!

Styles: Davidson has his work cut out for him, no doubt, but he has the ability to avoid the crushing power that Andrade possesses and can work inside of his defenses where he can unload big shots on Andrade’s body to slow him down and make him far more susceptible to Davidson’s power! Avoiding the kicks from Andrade will be paramount to his success in overcoming the champion and I have no doubt his training team has focused on that for this fight! I also have no doubt that Davidson still has a bad taste in his mouth from being knocked out by Andrade the first time they fought, and that will give Davidson the drive and desire he needs to overcome Andrade tonight! Davidson could very well load up heavy strikes and wait for Andrade to miss one or his strikes or a combination, and as Andrade recovers from the miss and resets his feet, Davidson can pounce on that opportunity and put everything he has into a punch or string of punches that overwhelm Andrade and stop his night right then and there, allowing Davidson to overcome an opponent he previously lost to and wearing gold around his waist! Davidson wins this fight by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Davidson by KO; Xavier – Andrade by KO

Madness 37 Review

For a really stacked event, nothing more worthy then an epic display of bones and blood poetry by Butch himself. Enjoy.

Madness 37 Wanker vs Pickett Review Poem

It twas the Night of the Madness and all through the house
not a Soul had laughter, not even the Joker himself
The seats where jam packed with an audience who cares
and everyone knew that Massive Wanker would be there

The Fighters where backstage getting loose as a goose
But for DeShawn West he was holding the Hangman's Noose
Meanwhile Blinky Billy was in a corner with a beer in his lap
Little did everyone know who would give Funcake a nap

The Night began with a mate known as Toejam
and with a Head kick from hell he made Diaz his Sacrificial Lamb
A Warrior named Chomsli had his ego to stroke
but along came a Stoner to whom he did Rear Naked choke

When out from nowhere "The Detonator" made some clatter
with a thunderous KO that made Dennis Baba shatter
Little did we Know Zou Yun was the real deal
As Timo Bader saw his wraith and the pain he did feel

In a Heavyweight clash Nagashima was the brighter star
As Urtansson cried out from a nasty Armbar
Suddenly we all stood as Victor Reznov appeared
and a rising Gorohov laid trembling in fear

Jose Ronaldo has emerged as a true contender
but with just One punch, West made him a pretender
Closing out the show the Massive Wanker would not fall
As he smothered Marcus Pickett and the fans where in all

Thank you all for keeping the MADNESS alive!
