For the Record Mr. Madness The 3rd is one win away from his 7th straight win in the org.

Unfortunately, Mr. Madness collected the bulk of his wins under the most excellent of umbrella orgs, Grouch FC which do not transfer over to the even more most excellent RISE FC.

Congrats on becoming the open weight champion however! It's definitely been great fun watching the division unfold and very cool to see a 145lber take the crown.

Now let's see if former champ Anti Half Assed can get himself back into contention or even the first ever RISE openweight champ Commie Hunter.

DECEMBER 2021 - End of Month Review

RISE Open Weight/Open ID Division

It's been a crazy month in the world of Open Weight mayhem as we witnessed the crowning of a new undersized champion as well as his possible premature demise.

145lbs DeShawn West has been systematically piecing up the division since getting his start at RISE 1 and his run of destruction was duly rewarded in a VERY close split decision title win over then champion Anti Half Assed earlier in the month. West then made the first defence of his title against 300lb contender Luis Maestre and once again defied the odds by outworking the big man over five rounds for another decision win. This time however, the judges were unanimous. Making this victory all the more impressive (and more embarrassing for Maestre. Shame on you Biro!) was that West made this title defence without the aid of a manager. Yes sir, only a few days earlier, West would have received the shocking yet unsurprising news that he had just been screwed by his manager Tycoon Judas aka Butch Harris and so now awaits a fresh start under a new management team. Dear lord I hope they are cool otherwise we are going to have to Dana White those mofos. Ngannou style.

Unless something absolutely crazy happens, the next in line for a shot at the title will be Prana Halo. Yes, I know that I said he was next last time but then we signed Maestre who then leached my island boy's hype and so we had to give him the shot instead. Very small chance of that happening this time however and Prana's four fight win streak will not be without reward.

Of course, depending what happens with the current title holder, we could find ourselves at an impasse and so the old interim title might rear its ugly head (Mike! You need to programme this officially. Oh and add Miami. Zello is getting on everyone's nerves and I had to warn him about spamming) If that was to happen then former champion Anti Half Assed could be given the nod. He has just got himself back into the winning swing of things by ending the streak of hot up and comer Jab Buckeye. Buckeye was looking good and climbing the rankings after three wins in a row and a match up against the former champ was a big test for him. On this occasion, the former champ Half Assed was simply the better man.

Another possible contender match up could end up being decided when current #4 Roman Ship takes on #9 Tali Ihantala at RISE 27. Ship is on a three fight winning streak with all three wins via submission and could end up above Half Assed in the rankings with another big win there.

Ending the month of January in #5 is Violent Femme. A 140lber who has so far been able to outpoint his way to seven fight winning streak (4 in RISE). Could he be another of the little people gang nut punching his way to the top?

Speaking of winning streaks, autobot Stepdad TJ Mitchell (2nd best mod in the forums) has brought his Polish pick up Krzysztof Kozlow to RISE and has so far been on something of a rampage. His three fight path of destruction gives him entry into the top 15 and ends the month at #7

Former grappling wizkid Ken Irrawaddy has also been climbing the ranks of late and has become one of the fighters to watch in the division. He has quickly gotten over his RISE debut jitters and now, after three wins in a row, the 155lber sits comfortable in the top 10 of the division. He'll be looking to get past 270lb #10 Vincent Lemieux in his next fight and take another step towards a title shot.

One of the better prospects at the start of the division was 214lb Ivern Gustavsson. He started off perfectly with three wins in a row but then a failed title shot against Anti Half Assed has left him alternating wins and losses since then. Gustavsson went 1-1 in January and finishes the month just outside of the Top 10. Many still feel that there's some juju left in there however and I certainly couldn't argue that. Another decent run could very easily see him earn another title shot.

What of the first RISE Open Weight champion Commie Hunter I hear some of you asking? Well, he is still hanging in there and finishes the month of January at #13 in the rankings after going 1-1. His most recent loss was to submission wizard and current #4 Roman Ship so no real shame in that and still plenty of time for the 38 year old elite boxer to turn things around.

Lastly, two other fighters doing well in the division are #12 Nikolay Panayatov (20-18) and #15 Marcus St Stone (17-24). Panayatov will fight former Top 10 Frank Granger in his next bout whereas Marcus St Stone is still resting from his last bout. St Stone enters the Top 15 for the first time with a few good wins behind him and will now be looking to mix it up with some of the better competition in the division.

DECEMBER 2021 - End of Month Review

380k VIP Prize Leaderboards

(3 Months VIP to FIRST in each 380k weight class to win 7 in a row)

Another month passes and as the divisions start to build, so too do the winning streaks with some fighters hitting as high as three in a row now. The pressure is on and with the bastard matchmaker looking to trip people up at every opportunity with borderline unfair matchups, winning streaks are going to have to be earned the hard way.

135lbs

3-0 Deacon Fries is the clear frontrunner in the division at the moment though, with the AWC tournament about to start shortly, there could be a rather sudden influx of winning streaks stemming from that.

145lbs

Butch the bastard leaves behind a 3-0 division frontrunner in Mister Madness The 3rd with Len Drew and Arthur Pugsley close behind on 2 in a row. No one in particular standing out at the moment with the lighter weight divisions always taking a little longer to fill up and flesh out. Teofilo Stevenson recently with a win ends the month with just these four fighters on winning steaks.

155lbs

Things start hotting up a little from here on with seven fighters ending the month on winning streaks. Butch the bastard leaves behind Tarrell Newsome who looks to be a good prospect on a 2 fight winning streak with the other 2 fight streaker being 25 year old Justin Hammer. On a one fight winning streak we have Jackson Alvarez, Clarence Dubois, Dominik Dlask, Tapani Kangas and Martin Brown.

170lbs

Once again, ol' Tycoon Judas leaving behind another decent prospect Darrell Newsome on a three fight winning streak. He'll fight Lars Phantom sometime later in the month who is currently on 1 win. 25 year old grappler Luca Altieri is looking good at 2 wins in a row and just recently ended Hank Pym's two fight winning streak in the process. Elsewhere we have Kimmo Paramaki, Linkavitch Chomofsky, Khamzat Sonnen and Blake Mills all finishing the month with 1 win apiece.

185lbs

Quite a competitive division so far with frontrunner Honza Hohol continuing to surprise us with his winning streak. Currently the only fighter to finish the month with three in a row, Hohol will start to feel the pressure of that bullseye on his back weighing mighty heavy. Especially after halting the run of Scott Bandz former fighter Kody Thibodeaux. Charlie Gomez is second with two wins and from there we have six other fighters all with 1 win to their name. Sugar Ray Karter, Kosami Akagawa, Leonardo Esposito (Action Jackson prospect), Darius Thibodeaux (good looking prospect), Moncontour Chevrolet (another Action Jackson production) & Laurenz Thibodeaux.

Of course, the 185lbs division will be host to the upcoming AWC tournament and just like the 135lbs & 265lbs, wins could be coming in thick and fast once it starts.

205lbs

The most competitive division by far, 11 fighters finish this month currently on a winning streak. Very close at the top with Robert Brown (Butch's leftovers), Jack Serra, Denny Boyd and Master Leader (member of the notorious 2021 shadow committee that were caught stuffing the ballot boxes) all on two fights each and Matvey Aslanov, Mack Wheeler, Nils Hansson, Kamil Krahujec, Billy Nolan, Dagestani Wrestler & Andrey Zlobin all on one fight each.

265lbs

The heavyweight division is also one of the most stacked in the org right now and it's only going to get more hectic with the start of the AWC tournament shortly. Currently no clear frontrunner at 265lbs with four fighters all on 2 wins each. Elinho Mineiro, Aaron Favre, Leonard Susskind (stopped Gabriel Read's 2 fight streak) & Jimbo Gregor. Rounding out this months win streakers on 1 win each is Zac Zane (about to enter the AWC tournament, could be a big moment for him), Oba Umar, Tiberium Xavier and Shane Lancaster.

Summary

So there we have it. January 2022 in a nutshell.

I hope that these little divisional summaries become more interesting as the winning streaks and rivalries build up but so far this is about the best I can muster up. Obviously in time the 380k divisions will have champions crowned and that will only add to the already dangerous levels of excitement. Until then, try to keep your panties on. Peace.

Path to Glory

(380k 3 Month VIP Prize – 7 wins in a row)

Leaderboard fights for 20th February

155lbs

(1 Win) Ronaldo Gomes (3-0) vs. (0 Wins) Danny Sitsongrit (1-0)

A classic grappler versus striker showdown here as BJJ Brown Belt Ronaldo Gomes looks to improve on his single RISE victory. To do that however, he is going to have to navigate his way past the high level striking of Danny Sitsongrit from the highly regarded Sitsongrit camp who will be making his first RISE appearance.

A tricky fight for both fighters considering that their opponents strengths are their weakness and vice versa. Could very easily go either way but so far, Gomes has been a proven finisher with three submission victories out of three and just might have the wrestling skills necessary to muscle Sitsongrit down to the ground.

170lbs

(3 Wins) Darrell Newsome (4-0) vs. (1 Win) Lars Phantom (2-0)

The pressure will be mounting for Muay Thai specialist Darrell Newsome as he comes into this fight defending a three fight winning streak though his confidence should be sky high having already taken out some of the most in-form fighters in the division like Khamzat Sonnen and Kimmo Peramaki. His opponent Lars Phantom comes into the fight on a 1 fight win streak himself and will be highly reluctant to just hand that over without a fight. He'll need to rely heavily on his sizeable wrestling advantage if he is to put the brakes on Newsome's lead at the top and with two TKO victories to his name already, there's no reason to believe he can't do it.

Newsome under the new management of Bradley Burns now so that will weigh heavily in his favour and overall you might have to consider him the favourite going into this.

(2 Wins) Luca Altieri (5-0) vs. (1 Win) Linkavitch Chomofsky (1-0)

It's been a perfect run so far for the Italian meat grinder Luca Altieri who's devastating ground and pound attack has lead him to an undefeated 5-0 professional record. Two of those victories have been here at RISE and that is what he will be looking to protect against fellow prospect Linkavitch Chomofsky. Like his opponent, Chomofsky seems most comfortable on the ground but unlike Altieri, Chomofsky seems to prefer the slick and graceful submission approach rather than the overwhelming brute force of ground and pound. Chomofsky comes in with a single win to his name and will be looking to take a rather large chunk out of what Altieri has already built.

Altieri is the older fighter and with a little bit more experience over Chomofsky. On paper, it seems as though he also has a slight advantage in the wrestling which will be a key area in this fight. Chomofsky could try and keep this standing which would be interesting but otherwise, Altieri would be the likely favourite to keep his streak going here.

185lbs

(1 Win) Leonardo Esposito (2-0) vs. (1 Win) Laurenz Thibodeaux (2-0)

Somewhat a grappler versus striker match up, two hot prospects in Leonardo Esposito and Laurenz Thibodeaux will be looking to hand the other their first professional loss after two fights as well as improve on the single RISE victory that they both have. It's fair to say that Esposito looks to be the more well rounded of the two at this point but Thibodeaux's wrestling skills could end up being the great equaliser should he be able to get the fight on the floor.

A lot of pressure here for these two young fighters but only one of them can come away with their early perfect record intact and another W on their winning streak.

205lbs

(2 Wins) Master Leader (2-1) vs. (1 Win) Andrey Zlobin (1-0)

Another great looking fight between two young fighters currently showing a lot of promise. Maltese striker Master Leader has looked superb so far following two first round TKO victories at RISE and opponent Andrey Zlobin also looked dangerous in his debut, scoring a thirty-four second first round KO over Icarus Aphelios.

On the feet, both fighters look very even and we have already touched on their apparent KO abilities. Zlobin does have a slight advantage on the ground but not many believe that this will factor into the fight very much at all. Still, it's worth bearing in mind as fighters look to take advantage of any kind of weakness in their opponents skill set. Very likely to be a cracker of a fight and definitely worth keeping and eye on the result.

(1 Win) Kamil Krahujec (2-1) vs. (0 Wins) Hu Xuefeng (1-0)

You would be hard pushed to find a more classic example of grappler versus striker than this fight right here. BJJ brown belt Kamil Krahujec looks to defend his one fight winning streak against RISE debutant and high level boxing Hu Xuefeng who will be looking to get on the leaderboard himself.

Both fighters are practically useless anywhere outside of their base style and so this fight could so very easily end up going either way. It'll all come down to who can get in first and for that, things are too close to call.

265lbs

(2 Wins) Elinho Mineiro (3-0) vs. (2 Wins) Leonard Susskind (2-1)

A two fight winning streak for both fighters is on the line here as undefeated BJJ brown belt Elinho Mineiro takes on 2-1 boxer Leonard Susskind.

So far, so good for Brazil's Elinho Mineiro who's impressive 3-0 record has included submission finishes in every single one of his fights so far. His most impressive being a first round Kimura over Fatty McBurger in his most previous bout.

There were some rumours that Leonard Susskind had decided MMA was not in his future but the fact that he was currently in contention for the division VIP prize has kept him razor focused and eager to keep going should he be victorious here. It'll be tough going in the face of a far superior submission expert Mineiro but Susskind's style might just end up being kryptonite for the Brazilian. Wonderful boxing skills and a respectable level of wrestling to keep the fight standing. If he can execute the obvious, he might just be the one to hand Mineiro his first professional loss.

OPEN WEIGHT TITLE FIGHT

(Champion) DeShawn West (18-1, 145lbs) vs. (Challenger) Tali Ihantala (11-8, 253lbs)

Seeing as we have a cool poster for this one (from none other than the Tycoon Judas himself), I thought it only right that we have a little deeper look into the Open Weight title fight headlining this card.

The incredible featherweight superstar DeShawn West prepares to make his third title defence against dangerous Finnish heavyweight Tali Ihantala and what a fight this should be. Having spent practically the entirety of his previous training camp in an intense anti-grappling crash course in preparation for submission wizard Prana Halo, West now faces the daunting task of facing a slightly superior but much larger striker. Of course, he is also no stranger to such challenges and has already fared perfectly very well against his larger opponents in the past but the question is; have any of them been on par with the ferocious knockout power of Tali Ihantala?

Finnish powerhouse Tali Ihantala has been around the top of the Rise Open Weight rankings for some time and now finally gets the opportunity to fight for the title. He has racked up a 6-2 record since joining the org and comes into the fight on three fight winning streak. He does have a couple of noticeable losses on his record to former champion Anti Half Assed and recent title challenger Prana Halo but that was months ago and the days move very quickly in mmatycoon land.

An extremely tough looking match up for the champion here folks but how on earth can you count this man out? After a whirlwind start to his career where he captured the now defunct Madness FC crown back to relative obscurity after sitting out for five month and now a champion once more after making his way up the RISE open weight ranks. DeShawn West was built for greatness, of that there is no doubt. Now we get to find out if Tali Ihantala will join him in RISE superstardom or whether he will need to start all over again to stake his claim.

Danyaal "Muscle Aussie" Zahedi (5-0) AWC(3-0)

The round girl was a one hell of a chick, so I was taking my moment clinching and stalling to get a clear look of that busty chick. Then this boy Ascaciba keep bugging me with his soft cotton like fist, hitting nothing but air. He's being a nuisance and it got me pissed so I decided to throw a 10% power straight right. I guess 10% was too much for his Granite chin.

"Ascaciba walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Zahedi! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!"

Top Picks for the Weekend (10/04/22)

185lbs – Middleweight Title Fight
[5 wins] Honza Hohol (5-0) vs. [1 win] Knuckle Sandwhich (5-1)

A hell of a lot on the line here for Czech fighter Honza Hohol as he not only attempts to make RISE history by becoming the first middleweight champion but also as he attempts to take one step closer to claiming the middleweight VIP bounty. Currently on a five fight winning streak, Hohol only needs two more victories to claim the 3 month VIP prize for himself.

His opponent Knuckle Sandwhich came to RISE with a 4-1 record of fights within the QFC system and though well hyped compared to most of the others in the division, Sandwhich still needed to prove himself against a ranked RISE opponent. He did just that when he got the decision win over Timo White at RISE 43 and that was enough to get him the nod as fellow title challenger alongside Honza Hohol.

Things should be real competitive in this one though Sandwhich will look to have a decent advantage at range which is an area Hohol is still lacking. That hasn't stopped him from finding ways to finish his opponents however but he will very likely need to close the distance quickly before Sandwhich can do too much damage to him.

Both would make worthy champions at RISE but with the added excitement of defending his five fight winning streak, the pressure is going to be on Hohol to get the result here and that will make this fight a must watch for sure.

185lbs

[2 wins] Moncontour Chevrolet (2-1) vs. [0 wins] Ernesto Sanchez (4-0)

This middleweight clash between hot prospect Moncontour Chevrolet and QFC star Ernesto Sanchez could very well end up being the fight that decides who gets to meet the newly crowned middleweight RISE champion.

Clearly Chevrolet is destined to be a major player in the division with his rapidly developing stand up game and strong management camp but he faces a tough opponent here in Sanchez who might just have the key to defeating the up and comer. Whilst Chevrolet is unquestionable a highly skilled striker, Sanchez is a BJJ brown belt with a respectable level of wrestling and has already racked up three of his four wins by way of submission. If Chevrolet slips up and allows himself to be taken to the mat, his rise to greatness might just end up being delayed.

Openweight – Openweight Title Fight
[Champ] Tali Ihantala (253lbs, 12-8) vs. [#1] Dimitri Svyatogor (261lbs, 18-8)

A massive Openweight title clash between two massive heavyweight fighters.

Champion Tali Ihantala has toiled in the RISE open weight ranks from the very beginning of the orgs inception and has just recently been rewarded for his fine form and determination with the RISE open weight belt. Defeating on fire former champion DeShawn West by first round TKO, Ihantala now takes his place as “the man” who everyone will be looking to take out.

First on that long, never ending list of challengers is fellow heavyweight Dimitri Svyatogor who, like Ihantala, has slowly worked his way up the RISE Openweight ranks and now stands before him having earned his well deserved title shot. Also like Ihantala, Svyatogor comes in on a four fight winning streak and a decent amount of finishes within them.

On paper, Ihantala looks to be the favourite going into this mainly due to his superior grappling credentials but as well as his perfect tally of KO's since joining the organisation. Svyatogor is very similar fighter and will be no push over at all but the bookies have the feeling that Ihantala makes a successful first defense.

Openweight
[#4] Prana Halo (222lbs, 8-3) vs. [#11] Luis Maestre (300lbs, 26-14)

Two former RISE openweight title challengers face each other for the first time in what looks to be a real old school style grappler versus striker showdown. Both fighters with a common loss to former champ DeShawn West and both looking to secure another title shot as soon as possible.

Prana Halo of course a little closer to that goal currently sitting at #4 in the rankings and a good chance he earns that shot with a strong performance here. Luis Maestre not currently in the best of form but he still remains within the Top 15 and could easily jump a few places with a win here.

On paper, it simply comes down to who imposes their will first. Maestre clearly has the power to stop Halo in his tracks should he catch him first and it likely wouldn't take very long at all for Halo to figure out Meastre on the ground should he manage to drag him there. One thing's for sure however and that is that the fight is very unlikely to get out of the first round. Don't blink folks!

Betting Preview - RISE 52 Shabazz vs. Mogg

Event Preview: RISE 52: Shabazz v Mogg
RISE Fight League (380K)
2022-04-17, London, Hard Knocks - London

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

The Main Event

Shabazz vs. Mogg

RISE 52’s main event sees two fighters on win streaks coming face to face in a curious catchweight contest.  Wrestle boxer Rahim Shabazz, 21-10-0, with a 30lbs and 7 cm height advantage faces the vastly undersized veteran Jacob Rees Mogg 31-16-0.  Shabazz will likely use his wrestling chops to keep the fight against the fence to wear down his opponent.  There is no way that Rees Mogg will be able to compete with the bigger man the longer the fight goes on.

Our Pick - Rahim Shabazz to win by TKO in round two(1.82)

The Co-Main Event

The co-main event is likely to see some fireworks when muay thai specialist Mike Hunt comes face to face with boxer Nolte Luge.  With 11 fights between them, expect the inexperience to show and get ready for the fighters to stand and bang.  Expect an early night when they start to swing for the fences.

Our Pick - Mike Hunt to win by KO in round one(1.80)

Mike Hunt (1.80) vs. Nolte Luge (1.83)

Schmorgen Biscuit (1.77) vs. Miro Tynkkynen (1.87)

Linkavitch Chomofsky (1.72) vs. Toke Axelsen (1.92)

Who is this tycoon angel who has appeared from the heavens to selflessly promote events, offer odds and provide small write ups for undeserving orgs?

I never knew such kindness existed in this game. Thank you good sir for rekindling my faith in the player base. You are a gem!

I'm not paying you anything though.
