Some really good fights and finishes tonight. I wonder if Pereira can continue to fight at 185 though. The dude is massive for the division.

My only regret is talking myself out of picking Spann over Reyes

Kind of happy to see Adesanya lose. He is a good fighter but when i hear the "one of the greatest ever", i cringe every time. He has dominated a weak division and often he plays it very cautious against clearly weaker strikers. The first time he faced a true high level technical striker he ended up losing (3rd time he lost to Pereira, 2x were in kick boxing).

I do no think Pereira will do well against proper wrestlers and that weight cut will be an issue. Then again, 185lbs lacks the really top level wrestlers, so god knows.

Adesanya hype was getting annoying lol but it happens every time. I feel that way when a WW champ shows up and it’s almost like GSP never existed.

pereira’s grappling looked woeful at best against adesanya who’s grappling is pretty bad itself so I agree wrestlers would give him fits. Especially if he goes up to LHW with dudes who weigh what he weighs. I think khazmat would have that level of wrestling but he was getting rocked by burns who’s striking is nowhere near pereira’s level(his power isn’t either) so he’d be more of a toss up. Pereira might go on a run if he can continue to make weight.

and he arguably ( UFC and the biased commentators will deny) lost to Whittaker the 2nd time as well. And he talks but rarely backs up. Cringe every time!  😆
Fighters like McGregor did talk, it was cringy, but each and every time he backed up the talk with great performances.

And they make the Jan loss like it happened because Jan was too big and like people watching forced Adesanya to fight Jan or something. Jan was actually out striking, most of the time during the fight, the so called 'best striker to ever set foot inside the octagon' according to the biased commentators.

Let's see what Bo Nickal brings to the table. At least on paper he is the best wrestler in the division right now, but we are yet to see how he fares against better competition inside the octagon. I hope they won't rush him like they will do with Manon Fiorot against Valentina.

But most importantly I am waiting to see the bag of excuses to unravel from CKB side now. There will be some good ones 😇

Adesanya is one of the most over hyped fighters in recent memory. The fact that they are putting him in the "greatest of all time" debate is laughable to say the least. He is most likely not in the top 10 debate, in fact, i think Wittaker had the overall best performances in the past 7-8 years, just those 2 losses against Adesanya hurt.

If we look at his wins:

-Marvin Vettori is a good solid fighter, nothing more than that. He beat his twice in 2 boring fights.

-Jared Cannonier and Derek Brunson are gatekeepers.

-He beat an aging Anderson Silva who lost 4 of his last 6 before that fight.

-Paulo Costa was out for over a year before they fought and had some injuries. He has not looked the same as when he fought Yoel, plus he is a "power striker", technical strikers tend to do well against that style.

-Yoel Romero is the type of fighter you can outpoint if you are a good striker, what i do not get, is why Yoel was even in that title fight, he lost 3 of his previous 4!

Robert Whittaker is the only true "great" fighter he beat in his prime and that has more to do with the style. Robert was a bit reckless in the first fight and played it cautious in the second. The second fight was really close.
