Savage Scholarship

Savage scholars are selected after a rigorous and thorough process establishes their savagery in the field. Each savage receives a $100k scholarship to boost their progress towards world beating arse kickereefery.

We will soon review the careers of our first five savage scholars, here is a reminder of their induction cards, immortalising their successful entry in the Savage Scholarship program.

"Le Tigre" Olivier Dujardin

Speaking to the press after his first professional loss and failed 2nd defence of his NYF 170lb belt, Savage Fightwear athlete Olivier Dujardin was quizzed about his thoughts on the fight.

"Well, obviously I'm disappointed to lose. It's a new feeling for me. I can't lie, my overall morale was down a bit after the fight, but I was certainly afraid I'd feel a lot worse about it. At the end of the day, he snagged me with his only pathway to winning. He's been in the game a lot longer than I have and has way more experience, so while I'm disappointed to lose, I don't think this was really an upset. I will only continue to catch up, and if there is a next time, I'm sure I'll get it done."

When asked about his recent scholarship with Savage Fightwear, whether that was a distraction and what it means for him moving forward:

"I'm pleased to have been selected in this program. I think it's a healthy relationship. Healthy for my development, healthy for the brand to rebuild into a force, healthy for my bank account, healthy for my manager's sanity. I don't want to say I was confident of being picked, but there was some belief there. Subsequently, I don't think I lost too much time in my training camp being anxious about it. It had no negative effect on my training camp but I believe this partnership will help me bounce back from this loss and apply myself in training at 100%."
