CHAOS IN BEERLEAGUE: Featherweight Champ Joao âThe Boogeymanâ Miyao STRIPPED, RELEASED After Office Rumble With President Ramirez  By: Chuck Knuckles | Mayhem Weekly  In a move thatâs both shocking and somehow completely on-brand, Beerleague MMA has stripped and released newly minted 145 lb champion Joao âThe Boogeymanâ Miyao before he ever defended the beltâfollowing what league officials are calling âa Brazilian jiu-jitsu-related office incident.â  League president and lifelong black belt Jeffrey Ramirez broke the news at a hastily organized press conference, where he fielded questions while applying ice to what he described as âan omoplata-related contusion.â  âYeah, the guy showed up outta nowhereâshirtless, wrapped in a gi belt, sweating like he just power-walked through a sauna,â Ramirez began. âHe stormed in here, slapped his contract on my desk, and started yelling about âactivity clausesâ and âspirit of competitionâ like he was trying to invoke trial by combat.â  Sources inside the Beerleague front office say Miyao had recently gone 1â2 in side ventures on the grappling circuit, where his performances were described as âambitious but mostly guard-pulling.â Staff also claim Miyao had been spiralingâtalking to the coffee machine, attempting to heel hook the HR director, and once setting up mats in the lobby to âdo rounds with the vibes.â  âWe granted him a rare dual-discipline clause,â Ramirez explained, referring to Miyaoâs contract. âHe said BJJ keeps his soul sharp. We said fine. He said heâd only take fights on âFreaky Fridays.â We said⌠maybe. But then he started demanding âtitle defenses against inner demonsâ and calling our cutman a âfalse prophet.ââ  The Final Straw?  Ramirez says things came to a head on Monday morning when Miyao burst into HQ and demanded a âcatchweight grudge match against The Concept of Time.â  âI was like, bro⌠what?â said Ramirez. âThen he pointed at this obscure clause in the contract, screamed âI am the storm!â and tried to berimbolo me across my own conference table.â  Ramirez, no stranger to a tussle himself, admits things got physical.  âLook, Iâm a black belt. Iâm not gonna get heel hooked in Dockers. We rolled. It got wild. I think the janitor tried to ref it. At one point, Joao yelled âThis is for Abu Dhabi 2015!â and tried to gogoplata the coat rack. It was a mess.â  Security footage, allegedly leaked to Mayhem Weekly, shows two men in business attire locked in a frantic half-guard battle while interns throw acai bowls for crowd effect.  The Belt Is Vacant⌠and So Is Miyaoâs Locker  Following the incident, Beerleague issued a brief statement:  âEffective immediately, we are stripping Joao Miyao of the featherweight title and releasing him from all contractual obligations. We wish him peace on his next voyageâhopefully not through our lobby.â  When asked whether other promotions should be wary, Ramirez didnât mince words:  âLook, we love talent. But this guy rolled into an exec meeting wearing Vale Tudo shorts and muttering about âsubmission-based enlightenment.â Heâs out of control. Proceed with caution. Or mats.â  Miyao has not responded to requests for comment, though his Instagram Stories reportedly included the phrases âstill undefeated in cosmic warfareâ and âcatch me on the astral mats.â  Beerleague has already announced a 4-man tournament to crown a new champ, tentatively titled: âFeatherweight Fallout: Who Wants It Less?â  Stay tuned.  @poppa
