GBK16
So with this tournament now entering it's 4th event, I figured it would be best to have it on the forums and have all the details worked out nice and early. Those who have been around for the past 2 years will know what it's about, but for those of you who are new, here is a rundown of how it goes. The MMA Tycoon Olympics 2016 is an Inter-Org event held in the MMA Tycoon Community by 8 of the best orgs in the game. Each org will submit a fighter in each weight category (135 through to 265+) which means 8 fighters in total. With there being 8 weight classes and 8 orgs, each org will host one division of the tournament. The tournament will take place from November through until December, to coincide with the annual Of The Year awards. The 8 orgs taking place, as of writing pending pull outs, are: EVOLUTION Claymore Elite Combat Synchronicity Trinity Canadian Fighting Championship Montreal Fight Nights (Last Olympics champions) Ascension Death Squad MMA Each org will submit their roster of 8 fighters to compete in the Olympics. The fighters must have had at least 3 fights in the org, and must be within the top 500 P4P. This is to ensure each org submits the very best fighters they can without sending lower hyped guys to try and rack up a lot of free hype. If an org is unable to find a fighter for a weight division, they may in exceptional circumstances outsource a fighter. This will be discussed among the other orgs involved, and any disputes will be resolved. In addition, managers are only allowed to have one fighter in a division. So for example, Manager A can have a fighter competing at 155, 185 and 265, but cannot have two fighters competing at 265. They are also allowed to have fighters represent different orgs. If they are asked to submit a fighter by two different orgs in the same weight class, it is that manager's decision of who he wishes to enter into the tournament. There is a minimum weight requirement for each division which are as follows: 135 = 135 pounds or above. 145 = 145 pounds or above. 155 = 155 pounds or above. 170 = 170 pounds or above. 185 = 185 pounds or above. 205 = 205 pounds or above. 265 = 230 pounds or above. 265+ = 250 pounds or above. No fighter under these weight limits will be allowed to compete under any circumstances. Fighters may go on weight gain or weight loss in order to make weight, however the weight must be made prior to the first fight taking place, if weight is not made then the fighter shall be disqualified and the opponent will go through to the next round. The points system is as follows Gold = 4 Silver = 3 Bronze = 2 4th = 1 5-8th = 0 The prize fund is as follows 1st = 750k 2nd = 500k 3rd = 250k 4-8 = 0 The host org is responsible to pay the fighters, or managers, this prize money. The contracts for the tournament are 25k-25k. There will be a random draw to decide which orgs host which division, and that will happen following the submitting of each org's roster to the tournament. The start date we are aiming for is the first week of November so the orgs have time to come up with their roster and there is time to arrange the moving of fighters to the hosting orgs. GiankaBonghi
Pardon me but arent the Olympics made up with national teams?? why you dont organize it with nationals, that would be cool. 1
stpierrecanada
Pardon me but arent the Olympics made up with national teams?? why you dont organize it with nationals, that would be cool. TYCOON Olympics, we do it our way. A separate Tournament for that would be interesting, but the Tycoon Olympics have been this way and has worked out amazingly well so far in my opinion.
GiankaBonghi
Never said it's bad, actually i like this format , but a proper Olympic with nations would be also cool. 1
Erik
Should really ditch that minimum weight rule for 135 seeing as it's the lightest class in the game... there are a couple of top 10 135s who can't actually compete in this. Mr.J
India won't even qualify if we go by country basis.there's hardly anyone active from my country besides me.haha
GBK16
Rory ran an international based tournament before in a creation setting. He could easily run another season of it with established fighters. Fairly sure the Finns won it. All the orgs except for CEC have confirmed entry so now it's up to them to start gathering their roster to compete in the tournament. aylib
India won't even qualify if we go by country basis.there's hardly anyone active from my country besides me.haha We could have the Rest of the World team- I think there are several on here from countries that don't represent well, but if pooled together-could put together a formidable team. I too, like the idea of having countries square off in a tournament.
gwad12345
With well over 50% of the users on this site being from 2 countries I just don't think a tournament like that is a good idea... Also whoever hosted this would have an absolute nightmare with people whining about so many different things I don't even know where to start.
aylib
You're right- there is a ton of managers who represent just a few countries, but we re really talking about the elite when it comes to these types of tournaments. I see numerous top managers associated with: Finland, Russia, the U.K., the U.S., Brazil, Canada. Then there is a contingent of top managers from smaller countries that could be pooled together. BlakePhoenix
IMO the 265+ division should have a minimum weight of 265, not 250 - why have this be the only division that let's underweight fighters compete when IRL it's the opposite of that?

BlakePhoenix
because this is a game and not real life I think if you guys want to talk about a country olympics tournament, you should start another thread and get off this one. "Because this is a game and not real life" is not a valid reason for having underweight fighters in the 265+ division but not any of the other divisions. Actually i think Sweden would be better than half the nations you listed there, plus i saw some good managers from Ireland, Greece , Germany , some Dutchebags and ofcourse the Italians are going to win the gold medals easily with me and Arcalimon, i mean there would be a lot of competition if Nation Olympic would happen. I am not playng down the other format though, it is also good.
