  1. Rumours have been circulating the tycoon universe that manager Stu_Pidasol will be retiring from the fight game.. We can confirm that these rumours are in fact true. We are just about to go to a press conference called by Stu but before we do lets take a look back at the highlights of the career of one of our more colourful Tycoon managers. Stu was granted his managers license on the 2nd of April 2010 it's a career that has spanned around 20 tycoon years, throughout that time he has managed fighters in all weight class, seen countless changes in the cage. He was the No. 1 manger back in 2012 or 13. He managed one of tycoons most well known bad boy in Oompa Loompa who came, saw, conquered before falling upon hard times. His big Heavyweight Ken Oath made it to No. 5 in the world but never had the chin to be able to really make his mark on the big stage. He was a part of 3 winning ITFL teams two of which he captained. His oldest fighter Moe Lester will go down as one of the best in the lower weights even if he didn't manage to capture the No.1 spot. Sorry ladies and gentlemen I will have to finish the back patting, blowing wind up his arse speech as Stu as arrived and the press conference is about to start.... Thanks all for coming along as some of you know my time in the fight game is done and dusted. The passion to continue has dwindled to a point where I can't even be arsed in setting training sessions for my stable of guys, I see most have already found new homes and for that I am glad. There is definitely some potential out there and hopefully with mangers that have the passion those fighters can reach the dizzying heights there were destined to reach. Sport is a wonderful thing but it's very rare though that you get to go out with a fairytale ending, maybe I will get that fairytale as the first fighter to arrive in my gym was Moe Lester, it turns out he will also be the fighter who fights the final fight under the Stu Pidasol's banner. MMA is a wonderful game to be in and in my time I have experienced all the highs and lows you could hope for.. I would like to thank Mike Tycoon for accepting my managers license when I applied as a young lad with delusions of grandeur. I would like to thank the various clan mates I have had over the years. The org owners who put in a stack of effort to ensure my fighters were kept as active as I wanted them to be. I would also like to thank the many managers I have had run ins with over the years, you are what keeps the fight game interesting.. Regrets? Yeah I have one, that I was never able to knock off arguably the greatest manger in the fight business Lance Templeton. I more than held my own against the rest of you muppets. And with that I'm out of here guys, coke, dopey blondes with big cans and plenty of piss is how I'm spending my retirement. Later Stu

Our source from the inside told us that Mike Jursllla (who by the way is a lawyer), manager of Dorian Yates has left his alliance after getting called out being a pussy and letting his team down. Our source also confirms that there are mixed feelings about possibly letting him back. They might lose highly ranked manager if Mike Jursllla rejoins the group. Vendetta is not a place for cowards.

  3. I was debating whether it was even worth my time to add to this discussion and from some of the posts I'm probably wasting my time, however I'm going to post anyway. I agree with others that the engine at the moment is quite balanced - however I don't agree with what people have said about the randomness.. Too many times fighters go out into the cage and the actions of them don't even come close to replicating what the sliders have been set too. I understand that random numbers are generated but my concern is that there is too much variation.. Now by the end of a 3 or 5 round fight generally the fight stats start to match the sliders that have you set. But if you look a bit deeper too much damage can be done early in a fight where energy plays such an important part to the success of the rest of the fight by fighters seemingly ignoring how the sliders have been set all due to the random number being generated for that move.. I don't expect that if you set a fighter for 50% head punches that he finishes with exactly half his moves as head punches. But I do expect that if i am heavily weighted to head punches that my fighter doesn't end up throwing more body shots than head shots.. I will leave you with one example where the same fighter has used the exact same sliders in 2 consecutive fights - Takedowns were set at 9% Fight 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=755574 Fight 2 http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=757562 In the first fight 3 takedown attempts for the entire fight... In the second fight - 6 takedown attempts in within the first 2 minutes.. That's the randomness that I feel needs to be toned down. That's just one example that well and truly illustrates what I'm trying to say. Smoothing out those sorts of outliers would make for a much better sim that reduces the amount of luck that goes into winning or losing a fight. Just my two cents worth.

  4. Fighter of the week http://i58.tinypic.com/dexwdk.jpg "The Godfather" Don Marciano The winner of the fighter of the week needs no introduction, but lets give it a shot anyway. Don Marciano is a legend. It's that simple. In my eyes, he is the MMA Tycoon G.O.A.T. Born in Sicily, Marciano was linked with the Cosa Nostra from a very young age. He is a badass bareknuckle brawler and has made a huge name for himself with him amazing KO power. Another thing, he is the only fighter ever to reach number one p4p ranking in both MMA and KT! What a huge achievement that is! He has been the champion in numerous orgs; Sauna Fights, Sydney Fight League, EMPIRE, EVO, Dynasty and EFFA. He has fought his entire career with the big boys and he fought both at HW and SHW. After defeating Dean Gibson, Don Marciano became the EFFA 265+ champion. He would go on to defend his title 3 times succesfully , all (t)KO finishes, before he faced off against Sher Shah Suri. Known for his amazing KO power and brilliant chin, this fight had all the characteristics of a megafight. What followed shocked the world, as the 40year old Don Marciano lost by (t)KO in the first round. A perfect right hand of Suri landed flush just before the 3 minute-mark, and Marciano couldn't get up on time, so the fight was stopped. Knowing that he had just fought an absolute legend, Suri was ok with doing a rematch directly and the two were booked for a new fight. The highly anticipated rematch happened on the 15th of August. It was a dominating performance by Don Marciano, that got him his hand raised at the end of the fight. He won a clear unanimous decision victory and reclaimed his gold. The big win in the rematch made him the fighter of the week and I know that's not one of his highest esteemed titles, but I hope that he still is happy with it. Big congrats to one of my favorite fighters of all time and it's great to see that there will be a 3rd fight between Don and Sher. The fight is already booked and will take place the 4th of September, for the EFFA 265+ belt. Good luck to both guys and I can't wait to see how it will go this time! Just a quick reminder, KT is fucking awesome and guys like Don Marciano and Sher Shah Suri are the living proof of that! Join the revolution and get yourself a few KT fighters as well.

  5. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14046526106802.jpg James "Sully" McGuiness (237725) (Update!) It has since been confirmed that despite signing up as part of a team for a long term tournament, Dorian Yates has indeed declined the fight against Hartlock because he was too scared to get taken down in a MMA fight (I'll let that sink in for a second...) As a result he has forfeited the fight and will be removed from the tournament, letting his whole team down for this round. Vendino will find a replacement for the next round to take his spot. Seriously, who the fook does that???

  6. http://i57.tinypic.com/1h5z5d.jpg Kyle Carlton started his MMA career at age 18 under the management of Andy Mugler (30539). He was blessed with blinding speed for a big Heavyweight, and Incredible, one punch, granite chin breaking power. He holds 37 wins, and all have come by KO or TKO. Carlton started his career on a 14-0 undefeated winning streak before Anton Chigurh ended his win streak with stunning TKO loss. Carlton re-built his fighting cautious approach and starting his win streak again, winning 8 in a row by Knockout including a KO victory over Anton Chigurh getting revenge for his first ever loss. Carlton also knocked out MMA and K-1 Legend Don Marciano in under 4 minutes. Victor Creed was the man to dethrone Carlton this time, taking to EVO Heavyweight Title from his hands. Kyle Carlton gave up his UPG, MLC & EMP Heavyweight Titles. Carlton soon after defeated Kane Williams and Emeka Shakur. He then went 9-7 in his next 16 fights. He fought for Syn' Champion twice, losing both times and then moved to GAMMA where he won the Heavyweight Title twice, and defended it a total of 5 times, eventually losing 2 of 3 fights and his Championship to Kenichi Shirahama. Carlton, at age 35 retired and separated from his management, although him and Andy Mugler stay good friends. With the encouragement of manager Bradley Burns (1540), Kyle Carlton signed to his management and vowed to fight again, less than 1 year after his retirement. He quickly took a fight in one of the Tycoon world's best orgs, Ascension and defeated Dr Schultz by 1st round KO. He then fought at CFC in Montreal, the oldest org in the game and defeated Juan Velasquez at the CFC FINALE for now event winning the CFC Heavyweight Title. Carlton then went back to Ascension and lost his next fight to Nai Khanom Tom by way of stunning, shocking KO which left fans crying and shaken. Seeing the results of his KO loss, he contemplated retirement again. Instead, Bradley Burns forced him to fight 2 more times in Ascension, and he dominated both fights KO'ing Rupert Ritzik & Cinder Smaug in one round, with one punch. And here we stand, what is next for Carlton? We will find out soon! 7. We are outside of London where manager Dean Sutherland is visiting the Vendetta offices apparently not in a very pleasant mood. An office intern has leaked the following conversation between Dean Sutherland and the Vendetta alliance. Dean - So what the fuck is going on here, Castor leaves and all of a sudden the place has turned to fucking ruin? Grant - This wasn't our fault, honestly. Dean - You let in some forty year old fanny who believes he is a lawyer and has stole some pictures from an old man body building website who is now leaving the team because he cannot handle the fact that he is indeed one pile of steaming hot shite? Igor - Pretty much. Dean - So i have a solution to this problem, but it cannot be fixed until after the current weeks fights. GWad - We are listening. Boyko Kersikov walks into the room. Dean - I'd like you lads to meet Boyko Kersikov the youngest of the Kersikov family. I am going to put him on a burger king diet and he will replace that fucknut. Dean Sutherland walks out of the room with Boyko and into the awaiting limo. Giacomo who lost his recent fight in the ITFL is noticed to be the driver of the limo, punishment we assume for losing his fight.

  8. With this I agree. I even supported somebody's idea to rename QFC to amateur fights (and maybe include some amateur fun stuff - like separate stats and history, maybe amateur tournaments - while at it). But as long as it is just QFC - this big bag filled with crazy mix of old high ranked managers testing fighters, new managers learning the ropes, crazy people loosing on purpose or trying out weird builds, people entering fighters en passant when in between contracts etc. as long as it's like this it's all fair. And ranking gains are all fair and people exploiting QFC are... well, not fair but kinda neccessary evil. Of course they should be (absolutely deservedly) frowned upon, but you can't really blame them for (ab)using things that are obviously (ab)usable. You want to change it? Good, I do too. Upvote and bump every thread about it in improvements section. But as long as it is the way it is don't complain about loosing ranking when loosing due to hidden testing (I'm not saying that you do complain, it was kind of impersonal, potentially collective "you"... I just noticed there was no "you" in this sentence. Nevermind... uhm... where was I? Oh, right, the last statement wasn't pointed at you, so no offense mate ).

  9. The ground game is always going to be hard to balance, especially w/ the way the activity level is STILL on the ground. If you decrease ref stand-ups too drastically or increase GNP landing % too drastically you are going to reverse the engine where fights never get stood up because guys are having too much success or because the referee gives too much time for guys to work. I wish we could fix this though because I think it's extremely lame that you work so hard to get to a TD, especially when it's late in a fight and you may really need one...and then because your fighter needs to "rest" for 10 seconds the fight gets stood up 5 lines later. But in the same respect, 5 lines is about a minute on the ground half the time. So while I'd like to see my guy get say 10 lines of text to "work" before the referee even considers a stand-up....can you imagine the amount of bitching that would go on if a TD led to a minimum 2 minutes on the ground w/ 0 success on any moves?? People would be losing their damn minds about how broken the engine is. IMO if you want to fix the ground game (& I've been saying this for 2+ yrs now) 1. You need to drastically change the amount of activity on the ground. Not just base it on what the top guys aggression is instead of the combination of top & bottom guy because that shit has had no impact on stopping ref stand-ups & high control from bottom is still far too effective 2. We need to have another pretty drastic decrease to ref stand-ups. I'm not sure what goes into the ref deciding when the stand-up happens at this point anymore....it used to be not having successful moves but sometimes now a guy lands a GNP strike, then has 1 control move and the fight is stood up....but whatever it is it needs reduced yet again 3. We still need to improve guys ability to land from guard and half-guard....that needs an additional increase. a. but w/ that change also needs to come a change to the amount of energy GNP from guard and half-guard takes. It should be pretty minimal & my reasoning for that is because of how energy levels impact fights. I don't think landing a TD and maybe 10 GNP in a 2 min span should give a fighter a big enough energy advantage where suddenly an Exceptional Exceptional striker is totally rag-dolling a double elite striker. I do think that it should assist him in having more success on the feet because he's fresher & because now he has the opponent hesitating because of the TD threat....but the longer the fight stays on the feet, the more it should start to favor the double elite striker again & I don't think that's case a lot of times. I'm sure I am probably missing a few thoughts & I will go back in to add them as they come to me. I think those changes would go a long way in helping the ground game. Basically by decreasing stand-ups and increasing the amount of successful moves on the ground should really help to eliminate or at least hold of for a considerable amount of time those pesky ref stand-ups. Then the decrease in energy lost from those GNP's and the additional activity on the ground should help to counteract having more success & the decrease in stand-ups from preventing the ground game becoming too overpowered

  10. I have decided to leave the game when my VIP runs out in 8 days. As you already noticed i am very inactive these days. What started to piss me off about the game was 2 things especially. #1 that Mentor did not get banned from the game despite all the evidence we put out against him. #2 when Mike broke the ranking system, i won 15 straight fight just after he changed it and should have been bumped up to #1 spot if the old system would have been used. You know in the Batman movies, when he saves Gotham City - that is what i did to this game but you dont have to thank me for it. Dinooo - good luck with your heroin addiction and life on the Falkland islands. JLP - i wish you and your family the best of luck, health and happiness, i always considered you one of the absolutely best managers in the game and i consider your streak with Scotty Bennett the most impressive ive seen. Shortfuse - thank you for taking care of me when i was a noob, and for always taking time for answering my questions and explaining things. Wish you the best. Duphus - i liked trolling you but always respected you, sincerely hope your health problems are sorted out, tall man. Finnfighters and LOD - thanks for acting as my punching bags these years. And of course, Vendetta - my words are not enough for you guys, without you i would have left a long time ago, i have gotten to know some of you really well and i have enormous respect for all of you. I did not know it was possible to have this kind of friendship with some people over an internet game. Never forget who you are and what you are capable off. We are the Tigers, lions, Great white Sharks of this game. This will be my last ever post in the game. Will still be available on PM for 8 more days. Mike Tycoon how about you give away my jets to some noobs or something? Goodbye fellas. // The Tycoon Superhero and savior - Castor Rollins.

  16. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14046526106802.jpg James "Sully" McGuiness (237725) Good evening everyone, and welcome to another round of the ITFL Season 4! Round 2 saw The Mighty Corporation go 4-2-1 which is a slight improvement from the first week. Of course, my preview of The Corporation's fights are proudly brought to you by the good folks Jared and Brett from MMA Hype! Get your ass down to their store in Amsterdam for the latest official Corporation ITFL Gear! Tell them Sully sent ya! Well after fighting in Amsterdam for the first 2 weeks, we travel to London where we face Vendino team made up of Vendetta and a representative from Convicted. I am fairly confident my boys will have an impressive showing against a dangerous team. On to the fights... Corporation Fight #1 Ivar "The Boneless" Lodbrok v "Freeborn" John Paul Wani http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg Ivar bounced back from a first round loss to knock his round 2 opponent silly. Both men have devastating KO power so it may just be a matter of who connects first. Look for Boneless to wipe out Wani in the first round to continue his streak. Corporation Fight #2 Pablo "The King" Escobar v Flavius Odoacer http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg Pablo has kept Team Corporation on the winning ways with 2 second round TKO's in the first 2 rounds of this ITFL. Odoacer on the other hand has been stopped twice by TKO in this tournament. You do the math on this one. Corporation Fight #3 Frank Damozzi v Lance "Last Chance" Legstrong http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg Damozzi came into this tournament hoping to turn his losing streak around, ending it with a draw in the last round this tournament. In a classic striker v grappler fight, i guess the winner will be whoever can take the fight to where they want it. Legstrong can try to take it to the ground, but he has to try do it before Damozzi knocks him out! Corporation Fight #4 Diego "The Gladiator" Bustamante v Giacomo "Kurina" Benvenuti http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg Wow! I am absolutely PUMPED for this fight! Muay Thai specialist Bustamante takes on former KT superstar Benbenuti. "Kurina" as he is known is the only fighter in Team Vendino to come out of Convicted. When you put two of the world's best strikers in the cage, someone is bound to go down. I can't wait for this one! Oh, and don't blink! Corporation Fight #5 Bjorn "Ironside" Lodbrok v Ruslan Mstislav Volkov http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg My boy Bjorn hasn't had the best start to ITFL, losing his first 2 rounds (with his last loss being the wrong end of KO of the round). Bjorn now falls to 3 losses in a row. Will he bounce back? I believe Volkov better watch out because Lodbrok is a much better fighter than his last 3 fights indicates and i think he will be looking to make a statement against Volkov. Corporation Fight #6 Paul "Scrap" Landen v Bosco "CageDawg" Brown http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg "Scrap" got unlucky against the always dangerous Cabrera in the last round, so he will be looking to bounce back against Brown who has fallen to a career low 7 fight losing streak. I hate to see someone go on that bad a streak, but unfortunately after the next round it will become 8 losses in a row when my boy Landen knocks him into next week. Corporation Fight #7 Brett Hartlock v Dorian "Terrier" Yates http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/menu_files/scout3.jpg* * As of me doing his preview, Yates has yet to accept the fight. Hartlock has come back from a first round loss to bounce back while Yates has lost his first 2 fights in ITFL. The Corporation didn't do so well in the first round but we bounced back to at least make our score respectable. As of me writing this preview, Yates has 4 days to accept the fight before he lets his whole team down by just giving up and showing the world what kind of man he is. He has had plenty of time to respond to the fight offer and he knew he was entering a long term tournament so hopefully he mans up and accepts the fight before the deadline. And that my friends, is The Corporation's fights for this week!! As mentioned earlier, make sure you stop by MMA Hype to get your official Corporation supporter gear! And if you can't make it to London for the event, why not drop by Sully's Bar & Grill and relax with one of my cold beers while you kick back and watch it on one of my large HD screens! But remember to drink responsibly! And remember... Stay Classy

  17. your not understanding that the randomness of the stand up cost me the fight and the randomness of missing all my punches but landing my kicks cost me the fight http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=760134 -- i got totally randomized in that fight -- i have a huge one level advantage in boxing but yet didn't land a punch of course i agree with you just stating i still got randomized -- lol

  19. Without going through a fuck ton of fights, I'll take the lazy way out and post the most-recent broken ground game scoring I've seen. Doesn't matter that it's my fighter on the shit end of the scoring, look at it from a 3rd person perspective. Even an incompetent judge would of scored this round at least semi-correctly. The commentator didn't even know who won the round, that's an obvious flag the ground game scoring is flawed big time. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loosa swings for the body but McKane moves out of range. Loosa throws a looping overhand right but McKane ducks down to avoid it. McKane uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Loosa. An attempted straight right counter from McKane misses the target. McKane swings for the body but Loosa moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from McKane. Loosa does a little dance to reset his feet. McKane misses with a shot to the body and Loosa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Loosa misses with a wild body shot. McKane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. McKane drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. McKane scores with a sloppy right hand. Loosa should have avoided that one. Loosa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McKane was well out of range. Poor timing from Loosa. Loosa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect. A head kick from McKane lands but Loosa takes it in his stride. McKane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Loosa circles away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Loosa dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McKane just misses with a punch to the body. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/1.gif That's one minute gone in the round. Loosa throws a body punch but McKane moves out of range. McKane throws a big shot that misses. Loosa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Loosa connects with a solid leg kick. Loosa misses with a body shot. McKane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. McKane connects with a body shot that sends Loosa's belly button to the back. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/clinch2.gif Loosa clinches up against the cage. McKane tries to pull guard but Loosa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. McKane lands an uppercut. Loosa misses with a short punch on the inside. Loosa working aggressively here. Loosa tries to work over McKane's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Nice body punch from McKane - that landed with a thud. Loosa misses with a short punch on the inside. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/takedown.gif McKane tightens his grip and picks Loosa up, before dumping him to the ground. Loosa manages to land in guard. McKane is standing up over Loosa. Loosa looks to escape but McKane dives into side control. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/2.gif That's two minutes gone in the round. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/reversalblue.gif The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! SUB ATTEMPT McKane wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Loosa, who protects the arm well. SUB ATTEMPT McKane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Loosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Loosa is trying to work for a sweep but McKane has mounted him! Loosa told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. McKane content just to control the position here. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/3.gif That's three minutes gone in the round. Loosa keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard. SUB ATTEMPT McKane moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Loosa has worked his arm free - good work by Loosa! SUB ATTEMPT McKane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Loosa has escaped the position, nice work there. SUB ATTEMPT McKane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Loosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/4.gif That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. SUB ATTEMPT McKane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McKane trying to control the position but Loosa is working away. Loosa prevents McKane from improving position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners. That was a close round but I would say that Ozzy McKane will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin ^^^^^ Ground scoring is broken. That round was as one-sided as it gets for a ground fighter without GNP / knockdowns / he's rocked. For 3 minutes Ozzy was on top, side control, mount, highly aggressive and going for subs. Do you really need more evidence that scoring on the ground is broken? Not just a case of bad luck or bad RNG, this was simply broken point scoring for the ground game. and I've seen hundreds of fights with similar results and scoring.

  20. I LOST AND I AM BLAMING THE FIGHT ENGINE! In all honesty i don't see the engine any more or less random than any engine that has been used in the game. If anything i'd say this is one of the more balanced engines as far as striking goes in a long time. The body gassing issue is not really an issue anymore as fighters can fight through the "gassed" point and survive and win. I like the current game engine and i like the way escapes are now working despite the fact i never planned for it because i still didn't think they would work (jokes on me this time).

  22. EVERYTHING YOU WILL NEED TO START STRONG! Supplements------------------------- -159q-160q is best -recovery supplements help reduce energy loss during training. -stamina supps help boost cardio -strength supps help boost strength -weight loss and weight gainer are self explainatory. Other training tactic-------- first you do nothing but cardio to Wonderful, then you do nothing but strenght to wonderful using supps, stamina for cardio and muscle for strength,, THEN you think about sparring and other training. Take them at least to wonderful, then tehy can train using good energy supp and hardly lose any energy while training,, ergo fewer sessions lost to resting. Fighter Training Schedule------------------------------------- Never spar two consecutive sessions in a row. Also, training in low class sizes produces the best result. so if a coach has 0 people training at it, you'll receive better benefits training 1 on 1 with him then if there were 5 other people in the class.... make sense? I can explain that one better. Gym - Equipment quality----------- The quality of the gym equipment will affect the quality of your fighter's training, whenever they use that equipment. The more people train at the gym, the more quickly the quality will decrease and the more frequently the owner will need to replace the equipment. Computer run gyms will maintain a "passable" equipment quality at all times. The values for equipment quality, from low to high; -Decrepit -Knackered -Very poor -Worn -Tatty -Passable -Decent -Good -Excellent -Brand new Gym - Cleanliness----------- The cleanliness of any gym will affect the morale of the fighters training there. They will still be able to get some quality training in if the training partners and coaches are of a high quality, but training in a dump each day will take it's toll and you will see a drop in morale. Computer run gyms maintain an "adequate" level of cleanliness at all times. From low to high, the values are; -Disgusting -Filthy -Dirty -Grubby -Soiled -Adequate -Clean -Fresh -Spotless -Pristine Fighters training here------------------ (Entering Your Fighter Into A Gym) You will see A list of all fighters currently training at this gym. as well as if they have a nutrition partner and how much it will cost to train each month -MAKE SURE YOU JOIN OR YOU WILL BE DOUBLE CHARGED! -Gym fees are paid and P.m. training sessions finish at 10:55pm GMT on Thursdays -Don't just assume Thurs pm is ok. -The morning training session is at 9:30 am GMT and I think lasts just a minute or two. -The number of fighters at the gym will greatly affect the quality of training you receive in certain circumstances. -Training with coaches: The less other fighters training at the same time as you the better. -Sparring: You need fighters to be training at the same time otherwise you will not receive any training. Beyond that, it doesn't matter how many people are training with you. You will rotate with all available training partners during sparring. General workouts: If you are just pumping weights, training cardio or working a yoga routine, it doesn't matter how many other people are training at the gym. The only negative issue is that more fighters will wear out the equipment quicker and when the equipment decreases in quality, so does your training. Trainers/schedule--------------- This section displays all coaches who are working at this gym. It displays their skills in the 5 types of training (Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, BJJ and conditioning) and then a list of all their training sessions for that week. You will want your fighters to train under these coaches so take a look at when they are training something you want your fighter to improve in, then on the section below allocate your fighter to train with the appropriate coach at the appropriate time. Your fighters - training------- This section displays all your fighters currently training at this gym. Each of your fighters will be given 12 training slots, where they can choose to either train with one of the coaches at the gym, work on their own on e.g. fitness, or spar with other fighters. To find out more about each type of training, check out the training page. Training with coaches-------- If you train with a coach, you will do whatever they are doing during that time slot. Your fighter will train with that trainer but also every other fighter who has selected that type of training at that time. The quality of your fighter's training will depend on the quality of the coach but also the quality of the other fighters training in that slot. The more fighters there are in a slot, the less time the coach will be able to spend with your fighter and the slower your fighter will improve. Also, the better the training partners are, the more your fighter will improve. Types of training------ The following types of training are carried out with a trainer. With a trainer Coaches at a gym will have skill ratings in 5 different skills. -Boxing training -Muay Thai training -Wrestling training -BJJ training -Fitness training -Each of the following types of training will look at one or more of these skill ratings when working out how effective their training is. See the coaches page for more information. http://www.mmatycoon.info/index.php?title=Coaches -Punches Trains purely your punching technique. Takes into account both your coaches boxing and muay thai training skills. With all of these basic types of training, you will receive some peripheral benefits to other skills. As an example, for punch technique you will also get peripheral benefits in boxing, muay thai, agility, speed, strength, conditioning and balance. You can figure the other training types out for yourselves. -Kicks Trains your kicks and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's Muay Thai training level. -Standing Elbows Trains your elbows and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's Muay Thai training level. -Knees Trains your knees and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's Muay Thai training level. -Clinchwork Trains your clinchwork rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's Muay Thai, wrestling and also a little boxing (secondary) training levels. -Striking defense Trains your striking defense rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's Muay Thai and boxing training levels. -Takedown offense Trains your takedown offense rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling training level. -Takedown defense Trains your takedown defense rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling training level. -Ground n pound Trains your ground n pound rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling and BJJ training levels. -Sub offense Trains your submission offense rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling and BJJ training levels. -Defensive grappling Trains your defensive grappling rating and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling and BJJ training levels. -Transitions Trains your Transitions rating (moving from one position to another on the ground) and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling and BJJ training levels. -Escapes Trains your Escapes rating (getting back to your feet from the ground) and any peripheral benefits. Looks at your trainer's wrestling and BJJ training levels. -Circuit training This is an all-around strength and cardio session held by a specialized fitness coach. This type of training boosts all of your physical attributes. There are also more specialised versions of this type of training e.g. (Speed) or (Agility). These still train the range of skills but moreso in the skill mentioned. (Without a trainer) The following types of training require no coach to help you train. They will just use the gym's equipment and in cases of sparring your quality of training will depend on the skill level of the other fighter's training in the same slot as you. -Weights Work on your strength in the weights room. Also get a slight boost to your speed by building up your muscle fibres. A very tiring workout. -Yoga Work on your fighters flexibility, agility and balance. A low energy workout carried out without the assistance of any trainer. -Cardio Get your ass on the treadmill and start running. The quickest way to improve your conditioning but also very tiring in the short term. -Boxing sparring Trains your overall boxing rating and any peripheral benefits. You will spar with other fighters who are signed up to boxing sparring during this time slot. The better your training partners the more you will improve. If nobody else turns up, you won't get any training. -Muay Thai sparring Trains your overall Muay Thai rating and any peripheral benefits. You will spar with other fighters who are signed up to Muay Thai sparring during this time slot. The better your training partners the more you will improve. If nobody else turns up, you won't get any training. -Wrestling drills Trains your overall wrestling rating and any peripheral benefits. You will grapple with other fighters who are signed up to wrestling drills during this time slot. The better your training partners the more you will improve. If nobody else turns up, you won't get any training. -Submission grappling Trains your overall BJJ rating and any peripheral benefits. You will grapple with other fighters who are signed up to submission grappling during this time slot. The better your training partners the more you will improve. If nobody else turns up, you won't get any training. No training-------------- -You can select "no training" as an option for your fighter in a particular training slot. This will mean your fighter takes time off and recovers during this time slot - something they will need to do quite a lot, until their conditioning is up to scratch. Training tips------ Your fighter will train more quickly when they are younger. Your fighter has a hidden skill value which dictates how easily they pick up what the coaches are teaching them. Some fighters will have a such low value for this attribute that it's almost not worth bothering training them at all. It is sensible to concentrate on training up your fighter in "conditioning" early on. The higher their conditioning value, the harder they will be able to train without getting too tired (energy). -Recent Training Bonus------------------- Come fight time, you will get a boost to the skills you have trained most recently. There is a cap on the boost you can get on individual skills and an overall cap. So for example, you could have a 5 point bonus to one skill and a 10 point bonus overall. It's therefore worthwhile training a few different skills before the fight. You can also receive a bigger boost to secondaries and physicals than you can to primaries, given that the primaries have a bigger impact overall. Morale--------- Morale is an important variable within the game. If your fighter has low morale, he won't perform to the best of his abilities in any aspect of the game. Your fighter starts with a maximum level of morale and this level is affected by a number of factors within the game; -Fight results (winning/losing). -Gym cleanliness. -Moving locations/changing base. -Running out of money in certain situations. -I only change when they go below 142. But if you've just lost a fight and now have low morale you can keep changing them once a day to quickly return morale to maximum. -if your clothes drop as low as the 90's you must change them -You'll prob get a mail from your fighter complaining about them too! I would never just change them -if they are too dirty they need to be chucked for good. Sponsors-------------- If any of your fighters receive a sponsorship offer, it will appear on the "sponsors" page. Your fighters can have a maximum of 2 sponsorships at a time. If you are a company and you want to sponsor a fighter, you do that from your company homepage. New sponsorship offers---- -Fighter: Which of your fighters is being offered the sponsorship. -Company: The company looking to sponsor your fighter. -Company Type: The type of company looking to sponsor your fighter. -Payment: The flat fee for the sponsorship - this will be paid to your fighter as soon as you accept the contract offer and you as a manager will get your 10% cut. -Expires: How many days the sponsorship would run for. -Freebies: If the company wants to give you any freebies it will be displayed here. -Store Discount: As part of the sponsorship offer, you can receive from 0 to 20% store discount. This discount applies to the single fighter only and does not include postage. Existing sponsorships------- This section displays all current sponsorship contracts. From here you can monitor when they are due to run out and therefore when you need to look for new sponsors. (Sponsorship effects) -There is no effect for your fighter other than the money they will receive. -The company sponsoring you will receive a boost to their hype rating each time your fighter fights. -Their logo will be displayed on your fighter's profile page and also on the event commentary, each time they fight. How Your Fighter Handles in Fights!--------------- http://www.mmatycoon.info/index.php?title=Fight_tactics gym coaches------------------------------ ( gym owners only) This is For the coaches you decide to hire. Who you hire to help work on each training session should be skilled in these fighting styles! -Punches Boxing -Kicks Muay Thai -Elbows Mauy Thai -Knees Mauy Thai -Clinchwork Mauy Thai / Wrestling/ Some Boxing -Striking Defense Muay Thai / Boxing -Takedown Offense Wrestling -Takedown Defense Wrestling -Ground and Pound Wrestling / BJJ -Submission Offense Wrestling / BJJ -Defensive Grappling Wrestling / BJJ -Circuit Training Fitness -Transistions Wrestling/ BJJ Trainer skill values----------- In the same way that your fighters have a skill level from 1-150, so do the coaches in that particular coaching style. Their skill value is displayed in the same way also, using the following skill descriptions. -Useless (0-9.99) -Abysmal (10-19.99) -Woeful (20-29.99) -Feeble (30-39.99) -Mediocre (40-49.99) -Competent (50-59.99) -Respectable (60-69.99) -Proficient (70-79.99) -Strong (80-89.99) -Superb (90-99.99) -Remarkable (100-109.99) -Wonderful (110-119.99) -Exceptional (120-129.99) -Sensational (130-139.99) -Elite (140-150) Coach Morale------- Coaches have morale based on a number of factors including -wage (the higher the better). -number of fighters they train (more fighters makes their job more interesting). -how long they have been at your gym (they get bored after a while). -Increasing coach skill A coach can increase in skill by training fighters. As his coaching ability increases, so will his wage expectation, though you can still pay him less than you'd have to pay a coach if you hired them directly at that higher ability. 24. http://i58.tinypic.com/rwtqj5.jpg Every week , from next week on, I'm going to write a profile about a fighter who did something special that last week. If you want your fighter to be the one written about, send me a PM. The subject of the message must be ' FOTWP' and in the message you past the link to his profile and you can also add why you think he should be the fighter of the week. It will not always be top fighters, as the content will be decided by who messages me that week. I will pick the most interesting one. So if your fighter did/does something spectacular/amazing this week, send me a message as explained earlier in my post. This thread is supposed to become a fun thread where your fighter can get some free advertising if he has done something special and thereby also is sort of a little bit of news from the past week. Send me your message the latest on wednesday morning about something special of the past week. Hopefully you guys like the idea and will be interested to send me messages to nominate your fighter or the fighter of someone else. Bjorn

  31. Engine seems good to me at the moment. I do agree with ground scoring I have been on the good and bad end of awful ground scoring. Now I know there is randomness with that, but if a guy gets two, three takedowns, control for a couple mins and loses a round that's crazy unless he almost got finished. I see that happen too often to be random.

  32. I'm with Karter in this. Maybe it's not about randomness, but the ground game is strange and scoring gets strange as a consequence (or vice versa?). The impression I have from recent fights is that one hardly gets the fight to stay on the ground unless they're spamming for subs. The consequence is that building a ground fighter doesn't make much sense if you want to reach out higher levels. Randy Couture would disapprove.

  33. simulators are going to be random, completely fine with that. just want to see the scoring fixed. 6 years later the ground game scoring shouldn't be that off. I think it would dishearten new users immensely especially with the slowest game speed of any game, ever.

  41. that's a reasonable learning speed. but my point was from the other way round - only sparring wrestling should boost the relevant secondaries, which is transitions and subs and escapes (as well as the ones it does do: def grap, tkds and tkd def).

  46. That's what I suggest, that qfc's are considered nothing but amateur fights .
    1 point
  47. Altough it would cost vip days to release and create new fighters all the time and that benefits the game as well. The main point is that there are a lot of managers ( including me ) not happy with the fact that QFC's can make you lose/win more spots in the rankings than a fight in a big org, what makes zero sense. + qfc's are hardly real fights so they shouldn't count for the real records of a fighter .
