  2. A lot of the judges decisions that people complain about probably aren't actually bad, it's just they don't understand how the scoring system works. Nothing personal but I don't like this idea at all. Judging needs to remain unbiased. To much immaturity in this community to be honest and it wouldn't create fun it would create arguments.

  7. Just ask Mike to raise the average level of competence with the judges. He made it this way on purpose because this same kind of shit happens in real life therefore it adds another realistic element to the game.

  9. I don't mind bad decisions. That makes controversy which creates rematches and stuff. Gives you a talking point in the game. I like the game to be as close to MMA as possible and bad judging is certainly possible in real life.

  12. it's just a case of keeping that database to a manageable size. the bigger it is, the slower the assistant page will be for the VIPs and the higher the overall site load. It's a bit annoying for people who hop in and out of VIP but we can't store everyone's just in case they come back to VIP.

  13. These aren't what I would call characters. They are pretty much blogs with little personality that announce who the fighters are fighting next, the results of the fight, what org they are going to sign with and how hard they are training. Even though the Dino Sutherland Jr thread reads like steel was jerking off while writing it and is barely coherent, it contains a slightly fleshed out character.

  15. only mike knows exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure mike made leg kicks zap speed so he likely took away some of the points you used to get for landing them. Leg kicks used to score about 30% less points then a head punch I added up the points for the whole fight only counting landed and attempted strikes (no adding for damage) under the old system and it looks like this: West: 90.9 for landed shots and 67.6 points for attempts and a total striking score of 158.5 Steel: 129.9 for landed shots and 34.9 points for attempts and a total striking score of 164.8 So it was really close without taking damage into it, but if both had similar damage then west will have gotten more points via head shots as most of steels points came from leg kicks which score way less with the same damage. AGAIN UNDER OLD POINT SYSTEM!!!

  19. It would be a nice addition along with hospitals to treat these chronic injuries, a money sink and a bit more in depth realism to the game. It could allow fighters perhaps to last a year or two in game years if they are kept in good condition with good treatment.

  20. The way I approach Projects is how would it be the most efficient way to train them. Make sure that the starting Primaries and Secondaries are relevant to each other, then you will maximise the efficiency of secondary training. In most cases, I wouldn't bother starting with BJJ, since you can earn a Brown Belt through secondary training alone. If you are gonna run a Boxer, you should give him Punches, SD and Clinch, since they are all relevant, and it means you will get a boost to MT while you train up his kicks, and your Wrestling/BJJ will be boosted from TDD, Def Grap and Transitions, along with Subs, GnP, Escapes depending on which you go for For a Muay Thai starter, Kicks should replace the Punches, because it's pretty much the same scenario where you then train up your Punches and get a boost to Boxing. For both of these, you realistically would also swap Striking Defense for Kicks/Punches, because training up SD improves your Boxing AND Muay Thai. I also always start with 12 in Conditioning, but that's just my preference. I generally only go with those two builds, so somebody else might be better suited for discussing a Grappling build to start. And also, ALWAYS start with Wonderful Clinchwork. Training up Clinch gives you points in Elbows and Knees, which ends up becoming wasted points when you hit the cap, so to train it up from Useless will give you a lot more points compared to starting from Wonderful.

  23. QUOTE (Eversor @ May 5 2010, 09:46 AM) You could choose either one for one of the four primaries: Boxing / Kick Boxing Muay Thai / Karate Wrestling / Judo BJJ / Sambo The primaries would affect secondaries something along these lines (both offensive and defensive): Boxing has better punches than Karate, but Karate affects kicks. Kick Boxing has better punches than Muay Thai, but Muay Thai has better clinchgame. Wrestling has better takedowns for shooting from afar, but Judo has better takedowns from the clinch. BJJ has better chokes, but Sambo has better leglocks. No gamebreaking changes, just a small coefficient to add a little more flavor. Existing fighters could have a one time opportunity to change their primaries to corresponding ones if they so wish for. Reviving a quote form an old thread and although not an immediate important must have improvement, I think this is actually a really, really, good & creative idea that would add a lot more depth, etc. Could use some revising of course, but the base idea is great. Instead of every fighter being boxer/muay thai/wrestler/bjj we could have something that makes them a lil different. The only challenge is finding the perfect style to pair up with it's counter part. I.E. to "argue with the quote" Boxing & Kickboxing could be paired up, but then what would you pair up with muay thai? And for Sambo, I'd say it gets a small boost to GNP & takedowns, and BJJ is submissions and defensive grappling. Maybe instead of "Karate" call it "Martial Arts" to give it a more broad horizon for the imagination of styles. Who knows. The only reason why I could see somebody suggesting against it is; everything fuctions as it is, it could be extremely complicated. Contrary to some belief, you really wouldn't have to add any additional flavor text. The most challenging thing in my mind about this would be tweaking the benefits you'd get for what primary, and programming that into the system, and also I don't know how secondaries and primaries mesh to create a "total" for the game's fight engine, all that is extremely complex to me. So if it required a major overhaul, obviously it really wouldn't be worth all the time but I firmly believe that the idea of seeing and being able to select one of two options, per primary, would be awesome. Not 100% sure if this was shot down or not, I seen a thread about "adding primary's" recently closed, but I'm not asking for a complete overhaul or anything like that, I would think it could be as simple as adding selective/optional text upon fighter creation? --- if that makes any sense. If it doesn't I could elaborate.

  24. For now, this will be for just one lucky person. As we get closer to Xmas I will increase it by a person. **VIP SPECIAL** For the first manager who responds to this thread with "merry xmas" I will buy that manager 90 days VIP right on the spot. Must be a manager who has been an active member for 4 months or less and plans on staying with the game and not going inactive. Cheers! Merry Xmas

  30. I won't treat this win as a glory because it's not even a big fight for me. I have shit tons of time to achieve my true glory. And I don't care about a rematch at ALL so I called another guy out, can you read? I can beat you 10/10 but I refuse to fight the same scrub twice. Stopping bitching the decision, even Razor thinks I dominate the whole thing. You talked shit to Razor and you must pay for it, ready to get AIDS in your future. "

If you call him squeaking by me in a decision beaten to a pulp then you are a fool. Champ playing cheerleader and waiting until the smoke is cleared to chime in. Weak. Hopefully your next opponent puts you In a coma.

  36. Sean Tallon's response to Mickey Hart's Media Scrum; http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13967245424159.jpg Sean Tallon It's difficult to focus on being the best you can be when the org boss always threatening to cut your pay and telling you you're not worthy. Add to that fighting within 2 weeks but being told to train more is just confusing. Unfortunately the stress is just too much and I'm now thinking of taking up basket weaving instead of MMA. My manager and I have now parted company. Well done to my opponent Yuri Boyka, he came in with the right game plan and dominated the fight and I didn't stand a chance. I hope you have more luck than I did and go on to great things at SP-Icon.

  40. I watched Porzingis prior to the draft and was unaware why people were ranking him so low, in the end the idiots which booed the decision ended up looking really dumb. I think that Towns did end up being what people thought though, in other words a good defensive modern era Center which should improve over time, so Minnesota got what they wanted. Okafor is pretty much what they expected as well, in other words a good offensive big with good hands but average on D. The thing with Russell though is that when people were rating him i was hearing things related to his creative passing and his size at the PG position. The thing is, how i see him, he is more of a Shooting guard and at that position he is not particularly big. Even at PG he is not your great athlete, so that 1-2 inch advantage kind of vanishes. I think eventually he will become a half decent starter, but if this guy goes on to become an all star i will be surprised, some major development will need to take place in the next few years for him to even get close to the level people were hoping. What sucks for the Lakers is that after 2 years of majorly sucking (winning 20 odd games per year), we look like we are about to repeat again this year! Personally i think the NBA cap system sucks. I am all for making adjustments to balance out the league, such as spreading TV money, having drafts to help the smaller teams etc, but having caps on wages and caps on total pay is basically anti-capitalistic. I know it is to help small market teams, but i see nothing wrong with there being favorites or big market teams. I hear all the explanations as to why it is done, but how i see it? The franchise owners want to earn more money and the best way to do that is to put caps on pay. I know the public were sold on the idea that it is for the better good, but i am not buying into that crap. That is not to say that the Lakers would do well even if they were allowed to pay more! With the way they are being managed, i am pretty sure nothing could save our asses.

  47. Higher Damage absolutely does increase the chance of Slams, what isn't 100% known is how much does this actually effect the landing rate of the TD attempts or positions you end up in on TD's. Not sure anyone but mike knows for sure, but common sense would tell you it has too.
