REVO 14 - Preview

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us here at REVO Access, where we present to you, the rundown for each and every REVO card before anybody else! REVO - 14 is literally the last stop on the road to Camp Wars, which means that next week is going to be a huge week indeed for all involved! And while none of the REVO - 14 competitors will be seeing any action that week, their performances here could very well affect the landscape for Camp Wars Four, which has already been confirmed to be held at the Hard Knocks Arena in London ... which is exactly where we will find ourselves only a few short hours from now! REVO - 14, ladies and gentlemen, let's have a look and see what we have in store for us.

WILLIAMS CAMP - Fight One

Honestly, I do have to mention first, I really have to wonder what some of these parents were thinking when they named their kids. Sparka Man? That's just terrible. Not 'North West' terrible, but still pretty terrible. I wonder if he had his own designated superhero Halloween costume and everything ...

Anyway, getting on to the fight. Both of these newly signed welterweights are making their professional debuts here at REVO - 14, so it's hard to tell what exactly we'll have in store for us. We have very little to go on, as we generally tend to rely on past performances to try and help us determine what sort of showings we'll be able to see. With that being said, inside sources have indicated that it may have been too early yet for the eager youngster in Newcastle to make his debut, as he has apparently yet to master any aspect of his game. This could prove dangerous, as from what we have heard, Man ... that's, Sparka Man, is a dangerous striker who utilises his Muay Thai background to stand, bang, and pound his opponents into submission. Ideally then, Newcastle will be wanting to get this fight to the mat, but we have to wonder what his chances are if our information proves correct.

ROBINSON CAMP - Fight One

The Robinson Camp opens with a heavyweight bout featuring two competitors attempting to bounce back following losses in their respective prior outings. Wigley, upon his REVO debut, was chosen immediately to represent his camp at Camp Wars, where he was then pitted against Stephen Anthony. Questionable choice aside, given Wigley's lack of experience in the organisation, Wigley would fall to a quick loss after a display of poor judgement, opting to go to the ground with a submission specialist. However, this time around, an opponent a little more his speed has been chosen, and Wigley will no doubt be eager to prove himself. Jon Paul Fish will make his REVO debut at REVO - 14 against the afore mentioned Wigley, but has shown himself to be vulnerable to strikes after a quick knockout defeat during his professional debut at a local QFC circuit. However, given Wigley's tendency to take the fight to the mat whenever he can, Fish may be able to avoid such a result this time around and make a better showing for himself. Both competitors do appear well matched for each other, for the most part, with Wigley edging it out in wrestling proficiency ... but not enough to make a difference, leaving this one wide open for the choosing.

ROBINSON CAMP - Fight Two

Mitautas is a classic case of 'what went wrong?' Kicking off his career to a hopeful start, Mitautas would make it all the way to the finals of a local QFC tournament, where he would via submission within the first minute of the first round. Still, only one loss, no harm, no foul, and Mitautas would continue on, brimming with confidence after a nevertheless impressive display of his talents upon his debut. On top of the world, Mitautas would notch a further two decisive victories to mark him up at an impressive 5-1. So what did go wrong?

The signing of his life. Despite a second loss prior to, Mitautas' talents were recognised, and he would go on to sign with London fight organisation, O.R.G. But here, he would find the talent pool was vastly deeper, and he was quickly exposed as nothing more than a QFC hype machine, succumbing to two consecutive defeats immediately before being promptly released from the organisation. His confidence in shambles, he would return to the QFC circuit in poor form, losing four further fights, dropping his record from 5 - 2 to 5 - 8 in a blink of an eye. However, all that has now changed. A sudden shocking return to form saw him upset vastly favoured, undefeated prospect Paul Carrington in what was his first victory in over three years. Seeing potential, local organisation would take the fighter, a fighter who had spent the majority of his career peddling his talents at local shows, and offered him a contract. Now, Mitautas makes his debut under the bright lights in the REVO cage, against a man making his professional debut, Terry Reilly. Reports indicate that Reilly, similar to Mitautas, greatly favours his Muay Thai roots, which indicates that we may be in for a bit of a strikefest come REVO - 14. Can Mitautas make it two straight and truly mark a new beginning? Or will it be Reilly triumphantly tooting a debut victory and embarking upon his own career path with a hopeful start?

WILLIAMS CAMP - Fight Two

Pablo Alonso made his professional debut some months ago in a victorious effort over a local competitor at one of London's QFC circuits, but has since concentrated more on training, rather than finding more fights. However, that time has come to an end, and REVO is now proud to host Alonso's re-debut against a fellow debuting competitor, Wudster. Now, Alonso appeared to fully favour his striking game in his debut, but his accuracy appeared to be somewhat lacking where his aggression was not, making for a bit of a wild brawl like scenario between the two fighters. However, given Alonso's training since then, it is hard to tell what one might expect from him this time around. Wudster, on the other hand, is reported to have a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so it stands to reason that he will be wanting to take Alonso down and sub him out. Yet, if Alonso is a striker with any sort of mettle, he will have no doubt trained for exactly such an opponent, and will have strategies in place to avoid the fight going to the mat. Engaging a brown belt in his comfort zone can spell disaster for even the most hardened of fighters. Will Alonso be able to keep those strategies in play and Wudster at bay?

ROBINSON CAMP - Fight Three

Clarckson is a striking purist, as he clearly showed in his debut. Unfortunately, when I say purist, I truly mean purist. With no grappling knowledge whatsoever, Clarckson is open to even the least competent of grapplers, a factor that clearly played it's own part in his defeat. Despite rocking his opponent early on with a vicious knee, he would make the mistake of following him down to the mat, no doubts over eager and looking for a quick finish. Unfortunately, the mat not being his comfort zone, his opponent would gain the upper hand, as well as the time to rest up. Enter the second round, and Clarckson would find his advantage lessened. Late in the second round, he would find himself taken down, before quickly being subbed out, exposing his Achilles' heel for all to see. Now, his opponent in Petrovic come REVO - 14 is reported to arguably have the wrestling prowess, enough to give Clarckson some trouble at least, but as a white belt, it is questionable as to whether Petrovic can finish him once there. One thing is for sure though. Petrovic does not want to stand and bang with Clarckson, unless he is intentionally looking for a blemish upon his record so early in his career.

Tinker Bell was a triumphant figure following his REVO debut against Drew Schilling some months ago, where he would display his grappling prowess in what was arguably an upset victory. Now, he is set to face off against a different calibre of opponent in Absolom. Absolom made his own debut at a local QFC circuit, where he would display tremendous precision and power in his striking in a shockingly dominating display over his opponent. While he was unable to put his opponent away for good, the multiple times in which he knocked him clean off his feet speak for themselves. Now, Schilling did throw some strikes against Bell, but he was no striker by trade. Bell has not faced such power as what he will be against Absolom, and with minimal striking experience, Bell will be wanting to dictate the pace of this bout as early as he can. If he gets caught up in Absolom's pace, he may very well be looking at an early bed time come Saturday night.

WILLIAMS CAMP - Fight Four

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/31/31b30.jpg

Lucas Dias has been quite successful thus far within the REVO cage, notching two consecutive victories thus far and undefeated to boot ... however, the way in which he has obtained these victories does not quite so much offer tribute to his own abilities, so much as the foolishness of his opponents. When facing a brown belt, you would think one would attempt to hit the mat as little as possible, yet in regards to his opponents, they did anything but. A white belt and a blue belt respectively, they would both take Dias down to the mat, where he would make short work of them. Now, his opponent in Karkov is gifted enough in the wrestling aspect of his game to sprawl and brawl with Dias should he so choose, but he too has shown a tendency in the past to take the fight to the ground of his own accord ... and on one occasion, against a brown belt. Needless to say, he suffered the consequences in less than a minute. I'm going to keep this simple. If Dias finds the fight on the mat, whether through his own actions or his opponent's, he wins. If the fight stays standing, Karkov has the upper hand.

WILLIAMS CAMP - Fight Five

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/30/30w33.jpg

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/16/16w23.jpg

Amelie Poulain is the exact opposite of the afore mentioned Dias. Alright, not the exact opposite. They are both grapplers by trade. But unlike Dias, Poulain has absolutely no difficulties at all in getting the fight precisely where he wants it to be. A world class wrestler, Poulain is a task for any man to handle, and Weber will no doubt find it no easier to do so than either of Poulain's past two opponents did. Now, Weber does have experience on his side, and prefers the grappling aspect of MMA in his own right, but we have to question whether his grappling is to the level of Poulains. Weber is a competent striker as well, and keeping this one at a distance where he can and attempting to outstrike Poulain could very well be his best option. But then, as we have seen in the past, Poulain always gets the takedown. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later, sometimes multiple times. But he always gets the takedown. Does Weber have what it takes to neutralise Poulain on the ground long enough to hand Poulain his first defeat, or will he find himself just another unhappy, unconscious victim?

Almost a preemptive start to the Camp Wars theme, two undefeated fighters in Armstrong and Cardinali collide the very event before Camp Wars itself. And while neither fighter has amassed the winning streaks that Scarlett and Andrezj have, it will nevertheless have the very same effect on one of the fighters. Their very first loss. Now, Armstrong, as his name might indicate, has displayed some impressive KO power, and is considered a bit of a top dog on the current QFC circuit. However, now having signed with REVO, he will be tested for the first time beneath the lights of a professional fight organisation. Cardinali has already experienced said lights, notching his professional and organisational debut victory over Jimmy Sullivan with a second round submission ... but don't be fooled. He is a perfectly capable striker too, which is what makes him so dangerous. Combine this with the heart he displayed, coming back in his debut to win after being dominated in the first round, and Cardinali could prove to be a tough test for Armstrong. Armstrong has knocked out superior strikers before, but will his power and reputation prevail this time around, and make his transition a successful one? Or will reality kick in, like it so often does with successful QFC fighters?

ROBINSON CAMP - Fight Five (Main Event)

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40w40.jpg

This now all brings us ... to the main event. After an unsuccessful debut against stable mate Zeus Gracie, submission superstar McGarry looks for redemption as he faces off against a fellow grappler in Bush in what will be Bush's debut. As already mentioned, Bush is a grappler by trade, but of the ground and pound variety, as opposed to the submission preferences that McGarry displays. Bush has had trouble in the past with such fighters, but his main advantage here is his superior striking combined with his wrestling prowess. If he can keep this fight standing long enough, he could very well score a knockout over McGarry, who has a questionable chin at best, given his lack of striking technique. If Bush attempts to grapple with McGarry, he might end up regretting it, as McGarry has never let his prey escape yet, netting all of his victories without fail via submission. This fight will be all about dictating the pace, but who the victor is will hinge on which man can successfully do precisely that.

****BREAKING NEWS!

Following Dion Devlin's surprise victory over Jimmy Pistol at Camp Wars 2, the newly crowned champion already has a bounty of 50k on his back, similar to that of stablemate and REVO light heavyweight champion Owen Glyde, who currently holds a 100k bounty over his head. Williams' camp owner, Jolon Williams, has been eager to shift any perception that he may be favouring his own fighters over others, making it quite clear to the media that he has no hand whatsoever in their matchmaking, even going as far as to put these bounties over their heads himself. Who will be the first to claim these bounties? We tried to reach Mr. Devlin for comment, but were halted at the threshold by his mother, who claimed that he had school in the morning.

We'll let that sink in for you. He has school in the morning, and he is the REVO middleweight champion.

Have a good one, folks!

How do you like that for reality? The reality is I can knock out anyone I connect with. Great Fight Cardinali.

If you want a rematch, you go out there and earn it son. Im ahead of you in the rankings and fighting for the title. You seem to be happy that you "took me down at will", but u did literally nothing when u got it there. Instead I almost removed your arm from your body. You're a punk and your not getting near my title that im taking next week. Since Ayila Obasi is now pretty much already the champ, you earn your shot you punk b1tch. I hope I get another chance to fight your guy and get a nice easy W. Try putting together a game plan next fight, those takedowns obviously didn't work out well for you.

Real big man aint you calling out a fighter who's 7 years younger than you with nowhere near the skill set and just starting his career, I wonder if thats because you just want to pad your record and are afraid to take a more evenly matched fight? I mean everyone you've faught has a below 0.500 record. Go take a fair fight instead.

"Gentleman" George Wilson

Well, after competing in my third "Camp Wars" as Champ I feel that as a Gentleman that i should finally break my silence.

I have been really quiet and imposed a media ban due to the fact that i felt my opponents have been a bit below me. This was also the case against my latest opponent Bariga Mari.... um, Mari....

(Whispers to his manager about how to pronounce Bariga Marihuarich's name)

Um... Bariga! Anyways, I feel that as Champion it is not "Gentleman-like" of me to not pay the proper respect to my opponent. Especially as this is the first opponent I have had in REVO that actually pushed me to my limit. Anytime you want to have a drink, the beer is on me!

Bariga, if you earn yourself some more wins you are more than welcome to have another shot at my belt. But let's hope that isnt anytime soon.

Also congrats to my Williams team mate Stapleton. You have also earned yourself a beer courtesy of "The Gentleman." Put it on my tab :)

REVO 16 will be my first fight for REVO, and I'll give the fans a good fight against Shawn Kowalski. He is much more experienced than me, but, my game is good in all phases of the fight, so bring it on, and lets make the fans chant our names!
